It's good news for England cricket fans because a look as if they are on their way to the World Cup Final they're currently well in control against the old enemy Australia in the semifinal may need 14 runs for $119.00 balls reckon I could pack up and get them just about the chasing charge and $24.00 to win edged stone so in the next few minutes England will be in the World Cup final against New Zealand on Sunday one other big story coming a couple of other I should say Norge city of secure the future of another key player the Canaries are mounts that midfielder Tom drawable has signed a new contract till 2022 with the option of next year and of course the other breaking news that we've had in the last hour here is out of the Wimbledon wheelchair singles after a straight sets defeat against Gustavo Fernandez so his cricket coming home robbed Well it's home already. We're in the World Cup final I mean we were saying earlier how many how many semifinals of England won in the last various Verizon or not done too well and for sure the women's England team can do it obviously the men's team a year ago today. Coming actually but it seems that we've lost so many semifinals were in this 13 only 13 Come on get your pads on we're going to sort these out take a rest Rami OK well good luck with that guys it is 7 minutes past 5. Thanks for starting off in tackle still again Norris road at New Road there seems to be an accident there partially blocking the road to traffic is very slow at the moment and police are at the scene there as well at the 11 the 213 for some long queues there approaching the roundabout the 47 around ELEANOR HALL renovating its usual delays as well and Tennyson Avenue Vancouver Avenue that's between gay wood road and said Gates roundabout so long queues do expect about 10 minutes to get through if you see ending out 2nd update me call always 103897321. You time for the latest weather forecast for Norfolk and Alex that even has that for Hello there there's a lot of dry weather across the county but we also have had some fairly sharp thundery downpours particular affecting the north Norfolk coast and there is a yellow weather warning out for this afternoon the sea evening for those thunder downpours 10 to 15 millimeters of rain possible so they could be some disruption but having said that will be a lot of areas that will escape them so they look fairly isolated but the risk of them continues as I say for the evening in the 1st part of the night any showers easing overnight so wherever they are they should be out of the way by the end of the night so dry across all areas at the end of the night a light westerly wind temperatures down 13 degrees so into Friday it's looking like a fine start to the day with some good spells of sunshine turning a little cloudy later and once more the chance of some heavy showers developing they do look like they'll be quite isolated but they could be possibly thundery like to moderate northwesterly winds highs of 23 Celsius although it will be cooled on the north of it coast that's forecast Alex thank you very much indeed the time is 9 minutes past 5 you listening to the tee time show on B.B.C. Radio offered this is Paul Hayes in for Matthew gudgeon and our top story this evening Network Rail say the last decade has seen a 50 percent increase in the number of passengers traveling by train in Norfolk Suffolk and Essex it says major investment is needed now to improve the infrastructure because services are running at full capacity never Grail say without this passengers will find more overcrowding and standing on peak trains to London with projections of an extra 40 to 60 percent increase in passengers to the capital by 2033 well on the line now is Jonathan Denby from Greater Anglia they're the company who run most of our trains here in Norfolk a Jonathan Good evening do you think so what do you make of what Network Rail of had to say today does it tally with what you found as a company in recent years. Yes you very much does and I think it's a really valuable piece of work and very timely what we have seen is significant growth in passenger numbers I think the number of factors in that obviously over the last few years trying to become more frequent the more good value fares about than was previously the case more flexibility in chief. And it's become generally across the network with being realistic a much more convenient and a more attractive option for people plus road to being at a congested and I think also the fact that. People are wanting to sort of to travel in the more sort of an environmentally friendly friendly mode and I think that that is having a little effect said it very much does tally and this is now a timely thing to to look at what we need to do going forward because once we do have a completely new trains coming in which is great and that will bring in more capacity over time there is a risk that if we don't see upgrade to the right infrastructure then we will start to get to a point in sort of 15 to 25 years time where the network starts to get full. So what sort of improvement do you need to be made to deal with these numbers I mean I know some people want more more lines but of the chance it's never going to happen I'm going to take back all the truck beds in and put back all the lines that were taken up 50 years ago so we can't really be a massive increase in the number of lines available so what can be done to cope with these extra number of people using the train service so the report that Network Rail it helpfully done. Is targeting some some interventions along the main line because it is specifically focused on the greatest main line between knowledge and hundreds and thousands for that intervention will make a difference to enable more trains to run infrastructure day that growth and those are what you need to provide some loops to allow or fast faster trying to get past slower trained a number of those particularly in the area between chemtrails culturist in Essex are probably 3 separate locations in that part of the world where you need to make sure looks you go in you need to put in the next track at the junction just north of Stowmarket where the line across to came we can take a divergence from the main line up to the ridge and that will also give you some extra faster and better reliability as well and then looking forward and thinking about why did you join us from Norfolk out west as well as found to London you need to do some work in the area of Crouse bridge just outside knowledge of cities is a single track bridge again that's an area which in the future companies can become a bit of a bottleneck so that's helpful identified some of the key things and the final thing will be also getting some digital signalling in because if you put that in that allows more trains to run safely at shorter headway so at the moment the 3 minute safely between trains on the mainline you could run trains 2 minutes behind each other safely if you have digital signalling So those are all projects that identify the next step now is for the all of us in the taskforce who've been involved in over the last few years getting the investment towards new trains now focusing on the effort on getting those kind of projects funded with with more. With more infrastructure added So the challenge for us now that building a business case and then getting ever to rally behind it to get government support Yes I mean it does come down to that doesn't the government and there is only so much money available and there's every single part of the country I'm sure says that they are the ones that particular need investment in their particular area of the railway So the government not to turn I say well you had you that you got the new trains you had your money for the bits and pieces so you know you had all the money giving it for this part of the world for now I mean how confident are you can make the case the government in that they will listen. Very confident but as you say it's not going to be easy so the challenge is exactly as you set out which is that everyone everywhere around the country will be fighting for the fans of course what we've got to do is make the compelling case as to why you think there's different I think there are a number of reasons that I think we clearly one of the few regions in the country that makes a positive contribution to the economy overall we have a proper contribution to gross domestic product that's not true of many regions actually if you put your investment in here that brings more premium and money back to government to invest back in other things in other parts of the rail network as well as ours so you get some real benefit from it and I think it's a region we have a lot to offer it's a fabulous father world work we have all the benefits of a beautiful region with lots of innovative businesses but also you know quite close to London you know in fact you know the data 90 management on the mainland into May as well so so I think as a region we do have some quite distinctive characteristics that do make a really strong case to government both financially and for the future that actually justify why our region merits that investment over there and what we've got to do to keep on making it because it can be effective if you know if you went back to the back to 22 when 1st started collaborating together as Norfolk's of kinetics we wouldn't benefit is that we would pull off the sort of the fate of getting a complete train fleet replacement which is you know which is fantastic and start to roll out in the months ahead so actually I think it is about that keeping that really cracked approach being focused and I think it will take time that we may well be phased but I think if we keep that sort of unity of purpose we very much can get further investment in and their main line which will benefit the whole region and able is to make the most of the new trains as well I just find it very briefly Jonathan are you concerned that if you don't get the investment that your services won't eventually be able to take the strain. I said Well I think very well what came out from from today was was this that there is a risk from sort of about 15 years away to that the new trains bring in at least 20 percent extra capacity so to read that you know that the appearance of the next 10 years that what there is a risk 50 years hence if we don't invest and then there is a risk that we would start to see crowding but I'm confident sort of with the sort of the collaborative approach we've had we've maintained in the years we can keep that going and that will result in further investment for our region OK Jonathan Denby from great Andrea Norfolk's main train operator thank you very much indeed the time is 16 minutes past 5 now and the knowledge branch of a national car retailer has been fined by magistrates in the city for selling an under the car car shops limited to traders Kashyap have today been ordered to pay out nearly $9000.00 pounds it's off the front wheel fell off a Renault Clio so to a customer last November Norfolk County Council's Trading Standards team were contacted by the police after the incident as it became clear that the Wilmots not been correctly tightened Claire Worden has been speaking to Sophie Leidy from the Trading Standards team to find out more about what happened we were alerted in November last year there had been no traffic incident on the A 11 and it transpired that a lady had been travelling back to your age having dropped her children office and the one of the front wheels on her car came off while she was travelling at some speed along the I 11 Fortunately there were no casualties she was fine albeit shaken up. And we were contacted because the police at the scene. Believed that there was had been a problem with the car in that the wheels were not secured on the vehicle. They're the car shop the car shops Ltd did an independent report and identified that it was highly likely that the vehicle had left their premises the previous day with the wheel not spinning tightened properly on the vehicle we therefore got involved because there was a suggestion that they'd sold a road where the vehicle and in fact there what transpired doesn't bear thinking about being in that situation and luckily in this case no one was hurt but I suppose it's just luck Absolutely yes it could have been really serious consequences for the poor lady involved very luckily that didn't happen but it meant that we wanted to look at how it happened and what the company had done to make sure it didn't happen. Or investigation showed that actually there'd been a similar incident earlier in the year and quite rightly the company had looked at their processes to make sure it wouldn't happen again but in our view during the investigation we deemed that they had actually taken the nuff care and put in enough processes to make sure that it didn't happen again so Noble County Councils Trading Standards team decided to pursue this and it went to court today can you tell us what happened. So the car shops Ltd pleaded guilty and so therefore today it was the sentencing hearing at the magistrate's court and the magistrates find the company over $6000.00 pounds and also gave costs awarded costs to the Trading Standards Department and are you satisfied with that fine I am satisfied with the farm I believe that it was in very important that we took the case to the magistrate's court to demonstrate that companies do have a duty to their customers and they must make sure that they sell products that are safe and that they can demonstrate to customers and to regulators that they are following procedures that make sure that products they do sell are safe and what should people listening to this who think they might have been in a similar situation or have a problem with a product that they would like you to carry out an investigation in what should they do. What we did we would ask is that any consumers who have concerns about Product Safety Board and it might be something as major as a car purchase or it might be something as simple as a charger fear your phone in the 1st instance they should contact this is a Citizen's Advice consumer helpline which is on both 345-404-0506 the advantage of calling the national number is that the advisors on the helpline can give them very good advice about what they personally should do in relation to their purchases if it's deemed to be a safety issue the Citizens Advice then refer that case through to trading standards and we'll make a determination about whether we need to take further investigations that was so freely from Norfolk County Council's Trading Standards team speaking to Clare Worden time is 5 21 am good news for you cricket fans listening England are into their 1st World Cup final since 1992 they have beaten Australia by 8 wickets with I think that about 18 overs to spare in the end so quite a convincing victory over Australia in the World Cup semi final rebuttal will have more details for you in the sports bulletin in about 10 minutes time but as I promised you an hour ago I guaranteed you would happen to disagree mystic pole to be fairy for summer doesn't really follow cricket like me it wasn't that difficult to work out of the happening England have beaten Australia they will face New Zealand at Lord's in Sunday's final of the cricket world cup or so congratulations to them and I believe Sky have said that they are going to make the final available if England were in it in some sort of free to air form so they're probably put on one of their channels that's available on Freeview perhaps or perhaps they'll stream on You Tube or something almost lines but I believe Sky have previously said that if England were in the final they would make it available and not keep it behind the paywall for the finals hopefully should be out of follow and of course you'll have full commentary from the Test Match Special Team on B.B.C. Radio as well. If only these walls could talk how often have you thought that when you're out looking at historic buildings around our towns the here in Norfolk Well today in FICA number town council has launched a heritage try. Which does just that with the help of some nifty modern technology and a lot of us Jill Bennett has been to see how it's all done victims got a huge history it isn't really well known and one of the main reasons for having the trail is to make residents aware of that history and have pride in their town and the same time to attract tourists to bring trade into the town and it's really a fascinating trial and there are 32 sites each with a huge history and many many photos and anecdotes attaching them on the website to people who live here aware of how much there is behind fight now I think. Sadly lacking in knowledge and the map tables that we have in the parks that we have a so beautifully made that I'm sure it will arouse their interest so they will search the trial you've got the packs specially made and what are the sorts of things that you've been highlighting. Well let's take sort of 11 site show where the crown for instance describes how the Crown used to be a hunting lodge for the Duke of Lancaster and it became a coaching in and it describes how the coaches came to there and to the other coaching in on the other side the red line and how the passengers were carried from the station in a cart to reach her trial there was one time in the moon when the coach arrived without his driver in the middle in the late in darkness and they search for him and found him 3 miles away and tough trees where he'd fallen off due to cold and the horses had come not only exactly to the crown but also seem to know that that was a. Day for the crown when the other day was for the red line and in the same hotel . There was a chap from Scotland who was robbed of 200 guineas which is a huge sum we're talking 750 something and you know over 100000 pounds and eventually it was discovered it was man 70 and all he lost was 2 guineas. To be fun actually to go on the researching and tremendous run but it's not down to me I've relied totally on the fake and I'm history society and even more on the face of them community archive and to the local historians Jim Bolden and Michael Welland who have done most of the work and I've rather plagiarized that work but I guess they'd be pleased to see to see it celebrate it's really sad because they're both coming to the official 8 thing tomorrow at 11 in the market square. Who do you hope will use this child is it for people locally or are you hoping it will bring visitors as well Oh definitely but in a very much well local people to come but you know it's cost quite a lot to produce we've got grants to cover that and the Papas but idea behind it was to bring trade to the town because not everybody knows what a fabulous town it is somebody wants described it I think IT consultant said it was terribly boring would you go along with ASH after all this I certainly would not and anybody who cares to look at the website F. L. H. T. Fake name Lancaster Heritage Trail dot co dot U.K. Will find differently I guess you can follow that can you guide yourself from the town yes you can guide round you can take that take you around the town or if you have your camera your smartphone you can point it at the park and provided you downloaded a free Q.R. Code reader that will take you to that particular site and the Who history of that site will come up before you just by standing in front of the plug so you having somebody the as your personal guide to people my age it's. Beyond understanding. He just slipped into the dialect just at the very end there would be nicely done through the whole thing really we already Norfolk anyway there we go That was Joel Bennett finding out about the fake inheritance trail speaking to George H. Some time now is $530.00. And on the newsdesk forced to medical train passenger numbers in East Anglia have grown by 50 percent in 10 years according to Network Rail but they've told the summit today that more investment is needed because up to 60 percent more passengers are expected to use rail travel by 2033 international tensions are mounting with Iran a Royal Navy warship had to intervene after 3 Iranian boats tried to block the path of a British oil tanker in the Gulf foreign secretary Jeremy Hunt has described the Iranians actions is very concerning the car sales company car shop has been fined over 8000 pounds after we all fell off a vehicle they saw in Norwich when it was being driven on the A 11 for county council's Trading Standards team brought the prosecution they say the car was unroadworthy and the incident could have been fatal and Norrish International Airport has reached the highest standard for accessibility for disabled passengers for the 4th year in a row the airport says it provides additional assistance to more than $7000.00 passengers a year and Office weather a chance of thunder mixed in with heavy rain tonight 13 Celsius the high temperature tomorrow should start sunny but there's a growing chance of rain through the day a high of 21 Celsius B.B.C. Finally turns in their favor tonight their Swindon the Premiership is 6 defeats in a draw on the road for the Stars this season in the league they're currently 5th in the table Thomas your concern is on fit with a shoulder problem aggravated in Monday's big win over Paul Erik wrist top scored for Lin that night but what is the German expecting from tonight's meeting hopefully when. We need to pull our finger that's for sure I normally really like that throughout but it's been quite different when we come this year that prepare it different so I think we will hopefully sort of that. We've been there twice now . And Belgian cyclist still intends as one stage 6 of the Tour de France the Italian Julio Ciccone now has the overall race leaders yellow jersey defending champion Grant Thomas finished 4th on the day and is now 49 seconds behind so. That's what I just said earlier on the star this bulletin Paul Hayes has not been said since 992 on B.B.C. Radio or for England or in the Cricket World Cup final and a nice night when it was sort of being thrown off it was pretty Matthew Gudgeon saying exactly that and he's sadly know it today oh your baby I watch dancing around is living with his hanky only snorted hanging on his head that's how we picture him is yes but it's great news and yeah as a said Sunday you can all watch it. Like the one I think I mean I'll remember years and years and years ago when the series 24 was a big thing and Sky wanted to hook everyone on the new series they said they put the 1st episode free to air and they had to put it on the Sky Travel Channel because that was the one that was free from here was I don't know what freeview channels the sky Well I think Quest is one of the for the Football League but there is rumor and innuendo as they say saying that it might be on one of the the big you know lot of actual unprofitable Channel 4 got the Grand Prix You know we see we've got Wimbledon one way OK but it might be Channel 4 might my colleague Phil Daly is telling me my it might be on Channel 40 right that have the Grand Prix and that they're going to highlight there for them have they I didn't know that you know your F. One Yeah well that would be brilliant if because Channel 4 course 2005 Ashes we want to go it's a saw in everyone it's all right everyone can watch it is there is what should be well done to Sky credit to them yeah we're going to put a price up. Thank you very much and. Now there were shouts of dismay at a council planning meeting last night rather controversial housing scheme was approved 12 of the 13 councillors voted to allow $190.00 homes and a 50 caravan holiday park to be built on the derelict Ponton site in hems B. Many villages the parish council and the local M.P. Were against it the committee was recommended to approve it told that it complied with planning policies and return it was at the meeting which lasted 2 and a half hours and passions were high the public was actually warned by Carlos and the chairman of the planning committee that their outburst years and didn't directions would cause them to be risk being evicted from the room many of them thought that it was a done deal with a. Before this meeting began last night and there were villages who were holding placards greeting the councillors on their way in that no homes on the tourism land the Pontin's old song right is designated tourism land and they want to build houses on it Millet interest and we don't want it we want to kept as tourists and once again that's the end of it when a president for everybody else yet we very strong community in him space we have what we do we look after activists and we want activity and a cure for house if we don't want any more houses in the village I think that actually the community feels he is being worn down with 10 years of this site being left to decay and the arson attacks that have happened on the site the head of planning again means must take an hour and 20 minutes or so setting out the planning policies around this application he was credited I think with giving the longest presentation to the planning committee he also said that while the Ponton site was classed as prime holiday land in one set of planning rules those rules were undermined by the council's lack of available housing land across the bar over the next 5 years and he said that there would also be support payments which would be made to go into wards bowstring the health services and the school that the council would actually get a new homes bonus out of this and he recommended the application for approval now at a planning meeting where the developers usually don't get the chance to speak Alex's to Paul he is the site agent if you like for Northern Trust I also actually whether I could interview him after the planning meeting he told me he'd been expressly told by his clients Northern Trust not to speak to the media but I'm able to record inside council meetings after a lot changes year or so ago and so this was part of his address to the council this. Person's pumpkins has closed its attempt to tourism or less of a site. It's up OK she has a positive proposal. Which. Combination provision and the secure ride range of benefits to the antisocial behavior because. It will help address the current sure. It will reduce pressure on the release of. Development. With respect to the committee to accept the office your recommendation to grant permission was positive. Foresight that presentation by electors typology to actually go on for about 5 minutes of it is a heavily edited version of that but yeah the village did put up a strong fight in fact the parish council had employed a consultant to scrutinise the Americans with own planning policies and to scrutinize the actions of Northern Trust to actually market this site as they said they would do to see whether there was a viable future tourism land but both Barack and so is the parish council and the hemisphere Action Group the M.P. Brandon Lewis who used to live in Him speak they were against this quite strongly the accusations that Northern Trust had actually led a sham marketing exercise to sell the site for tourism that they'd allow that deliberately to fall derelict as part of a strategy to get housing commission on the land however one of the camps this voted in support of this in 12 of the 13 counts was on the planning committee saying that the site couldn't remain derelict forever and that while the community might want it for tourism only as it currently stands it contributes nothing economically to the area and after the meeting I spoke to some of the villages and the parish council chairperson Charlotte Hill actually discussed the show I've got children in the village show when the other houses are built I'm going to have to single me because they're going to take it it's just wrong and it's going to be a big issue because if we're not educating our children in the village I live in is going to have a huge impact on them in no time to toe shambles no interest of never marketed that site properly Savile's didn't even know what the price was and several people phone number and asked about it they never had price no interest only interested in getting planning permission 12 or 14 votes there's against you yes it was we were going to win tonight that was always going to be against us I think that was already decided before we even turned up tonight all we could do was put our case forward. Which we've done and we've done well sounds like there is going to be personally to make sure that the caravan park does get developed and they kid but are they going to are they going to do that the next campaign for you absolutely every given now and don't have any say that that's what we want then what was the point of all this at all going through everything we've done tonight in the year so it's not over Absolutely not we need to push now that we get there caravans in place I'm retired and signed sealed and delivered so we can carry on at least we would have got something out the deal Charleville from him be Parish Council and in that report by Andrew Turner. Sort of middle of the road fashion and I don't mean that pejoratively I mean it was mass market fashion that led to a lot of success for them and they just haven't been getting it right for a few years. And this is led to other other stores really catching up whether it goes from sort of the prime arc end of the market all the way through to next and John Lewis is well with their sort of concession structure so the chief executive Steve Rowe is taking over temporarily from Jill McDonald who has spent the last couple years trying to turn around clothing and home now at the time of her appointment it was a little bit of an eyebrow raiser because she'd never worked in fashion before she'd worked for how foods and McDonald's but she was sort of behind in as a real expert in the customer service area but if you like this is sort of coming to a head of some some recent fashion issues for the brand not least that during a recent promotion they had in February around jeans their clothing by didn't actually buy enough jeans to really meet the demand so there's obviously a bit going on in that particular division we discussed over the years as to whether you know Mark suspense will look exactly the same as it does now in years to come because of course is their food division that continues to do very very well very much the premium end of the market we saw in Yarmouth where they they closed their town center store and they just moved it's having a simply food store more out of town there which I think something they're doing in lots of places around the country Yeah that's right and you know in cities like Nora's they've got significant square footage in the city center they've spent a lot of money in the store here and you know I think they they still have a very loyal customer following But you know people are perhaps it's transitioning getting the fashion offering right sits across enough so the age range is as much as anything so they're not just sort of seen as the answer to one area of the market where they have a big advertising campaign might be getting involved 10 years going to with tweaky and all these other celebrities didn't they I guess sort. Trying to show the different age groups they appeal to and I think that was seen as not really having work that's right and occasionally they have real success stories that hit the newspapers as you know this is the must buy skirt for the season or something like that which it will then turn out that there's you know there's only a limited number Les can sell nationwide they can't sort of pin the whole year on it so again you know they're going back to the drawing board for the fashion division it would be interesting to see who is the. Long term replacement for John McDonald. Now something that a lot of people of that we should do more of in this country passing more stringent tax laws against some of the tech giants and this is something France are doing Yes So France is kind of got ahead of the pack of Western governments in saying that they are going to tax digital services. Which is a specific tax around companies that have a revenue of more than $750000000.00 euros which about $670000000.00 pounds and with at least $25000000.00 euros of revenue generated in France so this if you like an example would be where Google advertising is generating a certain amount of revenue in France they want a tax take of that is 3 percent they believe it would raise 421400 1000000 euro so not an inconsiderable amount of money the problem with it is essentially. The way the global taxation system works we try not to tax the same operations twice So essentially if there's an American company the Americans tax it and their operations abroad they bring profits back to the U.S. And they get taxed in America however it doesn't particularly suit or globalized world and it doesn't suit the sort of borderless. Commerce that's going on from the tech companies and you know every country around the world is grappling with this because of course for your home grown companies that are still in the these areas that are being very heavily disrupted by the Amazons the Googles the Facebook's you know that they're getting taxed in the ordinary way that's a retail store on the high street does so where this goes will be very interesting is the sort of thing that there may be retaliation from the U.S. Government which I'm not particularly happy about it because it does tend to pull into the net American companies more than others because of course they lead the way in individual service companies want to keep an eye on as you say and finally for today speaking of retaliation and trade war. And so forth the British banks are prepared for breaks and for trade war fallout Yeah it wouldn't be a day ending in Y. If you didn't mention bricks of course and yes the Bank of England's latest. Report on stress testing the U.K. Banking system has said that it's still in good shape to resist any financial impact of the worst case scenario disorderly broke sets so this financial stability report looks at certain scenarios which are essentially thought of as the worst possible case so that would involve the economy shrinking nearly 5 percent unemployment nearly doubling and property prices falling by up to a 3rd so they they sort of run that through the numbers and see whether U.K. Banks would be able to stand up to it and effectively the Bank of England has said that they still look in relatively good shape under those circumstances and in fact if anything the economy generally is getting more prepared for the prospect of no deal as it's become more and more talked up so you know the good news really to see that the banking system is still resilient as far as their stress tests are concerned and it does in fact say that they think the banking system itself could continue lending into the economy even if the U.K. Were entirely shut out of the international money markets for 3 months so you know that's that's quite good news but these are important tests of course that rose after the global financial crisis where it was felt that the banks perhaps had an image of stability but really when when the kitchen sink was thrown at them they weren't as resilient as we might have hoped Well fingers crossed that resilience proved to be well founded I didn't What's from Dolphin thank you very much as always thank you in the city today the Footsie closed down 20 points at $7509.00 if you travel money a pound will buy you $1.22 or one euro 8 making a euro worth $92.00 pence. Time now is 10 to 6 and Norwich airport has once again been rated as one of the best in the country for disabled passengers it's one of only 2 in the country to get a very good rating for the 4th year in a row in the civil aviation authorities annual survey Chris what is the founder of the flying disciples charity and works with the CIA on the survey I've been talking to him about why he thinks knowledge right so highly I'm on the C.A.A. Access advisory group and on that group there is a broad church of disability and we all give our various views as to how airports are managing passengers with a disability travelling through an airport and I suppose as a parent with 2 young adults now both this and I can come from their perspective and a parent's expensive so having done it many times it is better now but many years ago my colleague was awful but it's it's getting better still not perfect by any means but it's getting better so can you give you an example of some of things that you look at some things you look forward with this way. Yes So when we went up a survey today. It's always good to look at how the airport is fairing with the people that are advisory and no reach has a very good accessibility with the device that airport is to the best way it can assist passengers going through not reject will and one of the matrix sees it exceeds and gets time performance right because I think the worst thing for anybody certainly will changes is waiting on an aircraft and there are horror stories constantly on social media where people have waited for an hour indeed there was one the other day for 2 hours nobody wants to wait on a plane whoever you are for more than you have to you just want to get off so for someone who literally has to sit and wait for assistance you need that time slot to be as short as possible under 20 minutes so ideally. And NORAD She's one of only 2 airports that have managed to get very good in this you know for years that it's run is it in some cases slightly easier for a smaller airport like Norwich to be able to get things right than it is for some of the larger airports I know they still have to do some good work in there and they have done I mean they have to be applauded for this and so for that reason I would really applaud a bigger airports you could argue yes they've got. Bigger challenges but in reality level playing field is just passengers and you need to assist them and nor'easters a clue there's a very good job on that one and it seems as if most airports are getting either good or very good ratings under this system so is it the case that perhaps they need to be challenged to bit more now and maybe the grading should become a bit more difficult for them to improve. That that's a good point actually and something I might raise because when we look at these ratings easier they were very good now but you know I sense in 12 months or social media and also what comes in my inbox are things still do go wrong so we need to really on out the rough spots and and yes make it better maybe we should bring in an excellent category but that's for the C.A.A. To decide not for me to decide however I do feel that there are other things going on which will be technology that's coming in which will make that. Easier to attain So what sorts of things would you like to see all airports nor actually even those doing very well and other airports do in the future that can improve things even for. I just say bringing down waiting times because that's always a problem to say social media comes into this but you know we we're not all on social media it's any a small percentage of people so I certainly when I was traveling with my children I never went on social media I never did anything I just ashamed this is how awful it is we've got to put up and shut up. I do now realize that it can be made better and there are still other things we can do so only we can do more assistance on touch points white 100 times. And I think just the freedom to roam the airport I think sometimes people just are sat in one space and said Wait there into your plane it's called I've heard that on many occasions where cause you don't have to do that these Everybody wants to spend money on airport please don't stop them and I guess finally the message would be I suppose well done to not share point but you would encourage them and others like them not to just rest on their laurels and continue to try to be more of course says there's always you know get ahead of the curve and the racing will stay the same and if you see an opportunity to make things better you know grab it with both hands and I'm sure their own advisory group will be pushing them to do it Chris Woods from Florida Cybil speaking to me a little early on it's 5 to 6.
