Local radio so I was on the show I don't know if there's anything you think we should be doing or talking about please drop me an email and Zoe Anderson updated just that she mailed me she's from Suffolk and she said Have you ever had a harpist on your show before called me think you know that he's with me now evenings I Good evening welcome to the show I really appreciate the email it's great when somebody says Have you ever considered having a harpist on your show and I'm thinking no but come to mention it that sounds like a fantastic idea so how long have you been playing the harp for probably 20 odd years now wow I started in primary school how big is that harp just over 6 foot. I mean dragging that around everywhere must be a bit of a pint in the backside Yeah how's that difficulties I before we did some of your tunes just how easy is it to learn Well if you can read it means that you read it the same way as a piano which is why they ask each start on that specifically because it's a lot easier to transfer than obviously the technique is different but you are reading the same way so the right and left hand because it is a very romantic sound if somebody was going to be popping the question somewhere if you got somebody playing the harp in the background back to Earth x. Yet those works really well and you can play loads of pop tune so we are going to hear 4 of them on Tonight Show Up 1st why don't we hear an Ed Sheeran cheer and thinking out loud. It's got lots of writing I apply this one I have never heard this before before on the hop so so that day is coming I'm not going to sit back and let you do what you do best this is performing a cheer and thinking out loud take it away. Oh sorry that was beautiful. If there's anybody out there who can do any mass knowledge sharing please feel free to come into the studio because it's just so it's not so vile I personally it's very very relaxed and very very mellow. Maybe I needed this tonight in a very stressful week next you're going to do one of my favorite songs of all time . And won the war with well you know ice is fun I like some of the really a stuff when they were in their prime Britain I would love to send this clip to the Gallic a promise to see what I think of you all before most of us on the hop on the wagon are going to sit back they say it's. Good luck. Thanks. I love that So Ali We are going to get you back a bit later on for another couple of tunes if people want to find out more about you and your work I presume you've got a website Facebook page all that kind of stuff yes you can look me up on Zoe and attend on Facebook or Zoe And it into coda u.k. On their website what can we expect later we've got 2 more tunes to come the best boy band from British history of the ninety's all the ninety's would that be a blur they've gone from 5 to 4 to 3 members All right. That's take that so we got to take that shit anything else yeah Coldplay yellow are wonderful so brilliant stuff we will catch you a little bit later on thank you very much. Justin dealy across the eastern counties on b.b.c. Local radio. Tracey evening see you says Hello Justin if you get time or can you play along ahead lover from Liverpool or by Jimmy Osmond I tell you wanted to try some and I'm not going to play it tonight however however next weekend who we got on the show Jimmy also once so why should do mention you to Jimmy and we should play the song for you next Saturday how does that sound and Ted says here Justin what a what Zeus song yeah this was off the back of Carole who phoned in saying why right. Now from certain news today because the zombies by Sr Jim Rochefort has died aged 76 his cousin and the band's up front man right Argent has confirmed this news the musician whose career spanned 6 decades and included 18 years with the Kinks died today after a full on the stand is really sad news Rajan from the zombies is with me on the line right now good evening broads I was just in high road. Coming on this is incredibly sad news and Jim obviously he was a family member he was somebody that you worked with for for many many years. Well not only that when when I was also I thought relax hold the line here. It's quite hard to I'm sort of repeating or you know done better. It's still there but it's quite out. So I just had to try and discount it. The thing is that Jim was the guy that really turned me on to rock and roll and to rock music in general he was an escape for band when I was about 11 years old one of the 1st electric bands . First people dance and then the 1st of it to bounce the whole south of England. You still there sorry absolutely still here yeah yeah like I can himself you know. And one day I remember thinking I just like classical music I was down at Jim's and he put on Elvis singing Hound Dog and that was what turned my world around and very soon after that I went to see Jim's band now I thought I just have to be in a band as soon as I can and it was it was not until I was about 15 I managed to put a band together and when I 1st got the guys together for a band I asked him to be in the in the home is right at the beginning but he was in this great local band The Blues fans and we were just starting out which is what I won't join you but I help you all I can and he really did he gave us all the gear for our 1st rehearsal he sourced the rehearsal room the Pioneer Club in had to drop into the organs. And he took us down there he showed Hugh Grandy original drama the very 1st by strong and snare drum and you can rhythm that he would ever manage to play so he show you know he was there right at the inception of this on this. And he then went on to help us get our very 1st gig . He was it was a fantastic help all the way through I actually wrote my very 1st song for Tim on the blue times. When I was 15 years old I think some called the lonely one. And they recorded it I didn't realize until much later that they'd recorded a lympics studio to still exist somewhere. Shy and really without Jim there would be no I was on we know that in the sixty's of course he was doing his own thing but he did Joe you guys was in the late 99 says he officially joined with the zombies in a while before that he became founder member with me of all agents in 1969 and of course we went on to have big hits with. In this country would hold your head up and talk about you in America a little bit more. Huge in America with. The sign the same material and in different parts the words was so I had a real career with Arjun and he played some wonderful stuff when we were with Arjun . And then after that of course he became he for 18 years on the biggest ever selling album to the barracks he was bass player with the kinks and he was part of the real rejuvenation until they were filling arenas in America wonderful career for him there and then as you quite rightly say just in 1909 Collins I got back together again in the 1st person we turn to was Jim to start forming a. About and around us and we only intended to do half a dozen things but that turned into 18 years of touring around the world of. Evil and you know he was I was playing within 4 days ago in Florida. And he was and he was he was just giving out just as much energy at the age he is and still fantastic playing and she huge energy I just couldn't believe this morning when I heard the news this story now is starting to do the rounds on social media as well because the on be such a well loved band you don't need me to tell you that so it was a case of Jim falling down the stairs we think. We still don't know exactly what happened. I know that Gene his wife of 56 years. And they were still you know very very much in love with each other. Found him at the bottom of the stairs now he whether he caught up in the night you know to have away or something I don't know when there was all to make a drink or something like that and lost his footing and fell because I think there was some damage to his head that when the ambulance came they found he was dead by then whether or whether the cause of this fall was something different you know as in a heart problem or a stroke or something we just don't know that yet. And I presume that maybe a post-mortem will we'll find that out when we're as much in the dark as you guys are but we certainly send our love so his family and just lastly ranter I presume you'll be planning on those very early ties but are presume that you are planning some form of a tribute show in the not too distant future Oh I'm sure something will be arranged Jim was you know apart from being a home Stanley working musician with lots of people and he was he was with Lonnie Donegan for years and Lonnie Donegan wanted him to be his Andy. And. And working with so many people here he was very very active on the locals in the open sea we will come back from an American tour and call and I were out on the athlete and Jim would be out the next night. Playing with a local band or something like that and he was recognizable you know giving lectures around and almost And just last year. The University of heart which made him an honorary doctor of music so he you know he became a he had a doctorate last year and he was. He was the. The Abbey receiving that and speaking meant so that was fantastic right I really appreciate you coming on thank you so much for your time when our going to play what I think is one of your greatest songs of all time the zombies tell her No what she memories yeah great travel she members be on this one route. I had she wrote that song. It was it was a song I wrote after she was not there. And I just heard but Bacharach for the 1st time and I learnt the I don't get too technical but I love the sort of major 7th major 9th and they saw sort of sophisticated chords that he was using in in his compositions for the songs and I wanted to do a bit of that and so. I started I thought I want to write a song with some of those chords more more so jazzy causes. And I did and that became tell her no it was the saw maybe what 23245. Song but it was an enormous in America's top 5 in the American charts and it was a small hit in the u.k. a Hit in many places around the world absolutely Thanks again for coming on Rod really appreciate your time and send our best to Jim's family won't he thank you of course Justin thank you so much they go that was a road Arjen their apologies about the delay to start with Rod an absolute legend from the zombies and Jim Rudd for this is one of those names that that you might not recognize strike in terms of the music business I cannot tell you just how highly respected it Jim was and still is 76 years old. Saying they're very much an influence on the zombies in the sixty's in the seventy's he was doing his thing with the kinks and then he went with the zombies as well in the 99 sees it it's a sad loss here's the zombies track tell her no. There's a. Very site. Called. Joyful sounds are going to be performing a lot of good so we're. Going to be. Absolutely amazing that he will be doing a couple of coupons for us all to the 4 Seasons that sang all. That rain you know.
