Mrs Davidson says the process should put up or shut up I think if the plotters were seized it would be led by somebody a bit more serious and one of the irritants over the last couple of days for me particularly as a women is this idea that all of these men are supposed to be making decisions on Teresa Mayes behalf will have actually met trees or hey you know this is a a women with agency with grip with the terror nation the family of a missing black cab driver from Walthamstow who say it's totally out of character for him not to return home or contact him Thomas Dunkley his 40 hasn't been seen since leaving home on Thursday afternoon Ryan as Chief Operations Officer Michael Hickey will become the 1st executive to leave the airline over the cancellation of thousands of flights due to a mix up with pilot rosters mistake. Radio London it's 5 past 7. Great South London and I'm proud of this is London. To many people is to me because this is the place to be today. This is b.b.c. Radio. Then days. Dawned on. Me I just feel like. Getting. Very. Very. Good. Oh I love that a glimpse of stocking nothing as shocking as a glimpse of stocking on if the whole Simon receiving the shut your hall is on usual you don't usually say you're hot oh no it's because what happens at 8 o'clock the heating goes off and then it becomes very cold which is why I brought a big thanks West are nice I was wrong I may have it's a sweater a map a temperature I don't know when you want your forward new I urge you not to tell me what you're going to come down with this it'll be gone all right we're looking at our each other and like you don't like catching a child was not a nice thing to say but that's the truth you don't know which will change. What is that noise you know he. Stopped. That yes you're right that he was as I was nothing to me so when I do that I stopped doing that that sounds like that Tommy Cooper joke where the guy goes to the doctor and says Don't hurt me when I do this he said well don't do it. I mean right Simon enjoy b.b.c. Radio London we'd love to hear from you on the program this morning saving the show . You know Steve about that movie at least the new engineer that is retired he did just this show he'll go I doubt. They're working out for Steve you know what this is. Think I know what it is actually or now because he wants to as Jamie left his so we left a bag in here. If you have a sat down and I've got a bag with their phone in it I think it's something going all the phone there's no phone that's my bag Ok let's do the program I think it's something. No I'll tell you what it. Looks like the program did apprise nomics Mendham is saving the show Alex Mendham and his ilk he was on last week yeah and we like Alex Mendham stuff because what series actually won because he's very young to counter and shoot Yeah he loves in 1900 the roaring twenty's Yeah and secondly I really I think he has been in with some members of the orchestra before but Jim what he said he said he's got an 18 piece orchestra and not be really tempted to see him live but he was a guest of OS program last week and Alex met him in his orchestra at saving the program this morning also coming up on the program today we've we've had possible to kick Pimlico But will we need a visa to Brixton because this weekend is the beginning of the month long celebration of bricks the O.P.'s all things Brixton used to live not a 1000000 miles away from Brixton you know it. So I lived in Brixton I lived in the road for a long time with somebody and then I moved to live on my own in her own hill and then I moved to s. Dollars so I know all that corner very very well and we please have some calls about Brixton I want to know when you live if you live there now how it's changed what you love about it what you don't love about it because I think for many people if you I mean I've been through bricks and loads of times we worked in bricks and we don't outside Brokaw's and when Rush where I think I was conceived in Brixton my parents lived there when they were 1st married Charles and it's something they really late at night there are many who sometimes are I'm sure engaged in that at the time and the other thing is in terms of this I don't know if there is I think there is still the south north loved the divide and you have spent many many years living in south London so you've been south southwest north but I have never been east I can I get no. Model but you know further when I was married I was in South and grade of course you were when my husband left me I was in gold it's great I mean I've got an anecdote for nearly every area but I've never been east and I still get lost it really frustrates me travelling east I know West quite well but East unsummoned mystery place and rules are not represented and also can we talk about so this is my very 1st email was from a woman forgive me just saying a woman her name is June who says Jo my friends twin will give enough guns one followed one at the other and shot in his own late. 2 injuries are he's fine but then someone said always to have spotted guns and I was saying you as a child. Because you fall you fall over a lot and I used to have scabs on my knees. Permanent scared because apparently your balance is not good at all but you also injury each other unintentionally there are usually in you know like a swing went right over you know those big long swings went right over I fell under it it's swung back and forth over my face grazing I had like this big tramline down my face things just injuries that happened she was a child you get over them but it must be so terrifying for parents because your long gamely own you don't have I don't think you have a self-preservation gene until you're probably in your late teens. Early twenty's I don't remember which it was but our member hearing the story at the time in terms of I think really well described by my dad I was I must have been on the 10 coming home from school and you know you can imagine what I was like back then apparently what my dad heard from inside the house was me walking or running down the garden path singing suddenly crying. Oh I hated the worst trip side had because literally my left leg I do remember really dissing my left ear was covered in blood and short trials I would have been in short trousers and not time so then he's worried and I remember thinking even now how as you say vulnerable you put even though you think your indestructible you know when you get when you go from infant school to junior school which is a massive step up because you're left alone you can walk home from school you're left on your own in the lunch break with one or 2 teachers to be scenes in something you feel like you indestructible but you're not no you're not and you don't have the awareness around you that you don't have this shield of protection that you need to have to experience of adult hood so we would love to know about your childhood injuries we don't want this to be mecarbil right these are. The injuries that you did recover from or that you caused I mean I had my brother still has in his upper right this gray mark from where I stabbed him with an h.p. Pencil and they left that sound accidental in there I think he fell on that pencil but when I would years he'd bring out this scar and do remember when you did this so we would we would you know without them being the injuries that you recovered from that you called on someone else as a child and this is the have you heard the. Phone and say you know just William had a catapult didn't he I don't know if the bed now bows and arrows they had suckers on the end if they didn't then they'd be pretty dangerous but yet the in reason remember. We used to work for registration many many years ago and we used to give out free subpoenas and what was really weird is as soon as it depends who got the Frisbee but there were some people who used to do the responsibly others as soon as you can the Frisbee. And somebody would be pleading and I know my set of times you know I think we have to stop giving these because the other thing is because newsrooms are huge great for frisbee Well indeed they would go nuts for it here and all of our But you've been to states up in filming in the States in these ballparks stadiums and when you go to the big game on a Friday night the you've got the cheerleaders in the front you've got the ball players going to love. You could. Go on and they shoot out of this this kind of almost can and all the t. Shirts all right now if you were here why don't we do thing with you why you don't do you think because what happens is you'll find if you're not in the direct right or the wrong wrapped in a ball Well it's a tee shot this base erupts in a bore some got a bullet and I say into the crowd yes I can just say we know in plastic What in the bag don't have but it's a plastic bag. Better take hold. Every morning Gary I have my friends are going to meet your very rightly telling about brick stone is it picks Tonia Simon is a star like student but the event is cool but Stone You know I think if I just go bricks to bricks topia as a utopia for just so everything Tell us your connection with. Well I don't talk so I got here we were going to have a saying Larry take one step to the right into to the left beginning yet Ok I still refer to about 3 of them. It's got everything that's what great great restaurants got economy the fridge. Great market basically Beaumarchais Beaumarchais 30 chic or even the cinema it's ecliptic funky it's a great place for the anime I was on at one time 'd it was slightly from leaving. You know listen you've kicked us off nicely thank you Gary begin to tell us one thing we don't know about Brixton I'd love to know what male We know that I don't know that I don't know if I've ever seen it to be. One of them but I didn't embrace another women thing it's. Also has got stables Jim We had some gas industry holes riding. A 1000000 my I think the place was based in Brixton but when I was riding around. If you don't speak. Late laid aside some time for you to do say childhood injuries caused by you or anybody else that you did. Anything you know about Brixton not many people. 7. Now this may sound. Like. Thank you. Because it's going to sound incredibly sad. To. The 1920 going out clubbing meant listening to music I'd love that. Music and going out. On a Saturday night and literally dancing coming home and being in his suits and being in a room that's well lit and quite closely and absolutely rhyming balances on the door now if you want to speak to us when you thank. For 2009 is. Maureen Oh yeah and Simon will remember I phoned you last week about my niece's. And she was doing to click Sarge and here this is the billboard Yes and it was just a small well eventually managed to find a venue and sort of have your own home I told you growing up it well she was helping to write about 500 pounds stuff 1000 pounds or Kickstarter I can only say the power is right you know most well at one point we couldn't believe how many people were in this small hole. And the final total was 700 ish. The 915 billboard machine I'm sure has also got a lot to do with your daughter's hard work well it was my niece she will show you how she worked so hard but I'm sure we shall shout the last of how we love. That's the power of the 90. 915 it'll happen again. Now if you call an event that you'd like to mention that you're going to see or you are planning 7. 1000 book the will call you back at 95915. Thank you Maureen. We want to know what you know about Brixton What do you know about me. I had a horrid uncle lived in Brixton he was very pompous and thought he was always right he always posted you work for the b.b.c. But in fact he was a clerical officer of the Bermondsey Borel Council and it's not funny because I tell everyone I'm a clerical officer. Gives you more credibility nothing my mother would take me to visit him on Sunday tea and finally when I was 5 I peed on his favorite leather pull. What do you know about. 7 Devils. And injuries as a child injuries as a child cry the cools by somebody else. About rage is forcing pulling out of the swing. When I was about 9 we were playing some remarkably clever game in our playground junior school. I think 3 little brother had been something that involved bodily contact and I would have been I would have ended up in a fit history made it out well anyway we had these benches that had wooden Tsotsi to sit on but the bought the place was very very strange pebble dashed concrete and somehow my head managed to get into contact with the concrete and I was taken into my head teachers I think I was Mrs dresser at my primary school and she was on the final home and she said all I heard was and I think we're probably sent into hospital yes yes and I Yes No she said Yes I think you'll need stitches and I was like. That in front of me even though the why did you I didn't but I did go into a casualty then I remember being attended to in a knee as a head injury with his head's bleed a lot yeah it really did and it says God do you think he shaved head for if I shave my head there probably would still be a skull there probably would still be a skull did you have concussion. That's the fear they always say you call that school in case of concussion Well I don't know if I had concussion but you know you never know what it's done to your powers of memory and recall No I don't really was any legacy from that hit hit on the head until we hope not but I do have great I always have had great issue with a recall of my memories all there but you don't recognise people I have I do have face blindness Yeah which is maybe that came from the head who know I'm not being clear though it's not always as you know I went to lunch with one of our colleagues and didn't know I knew exactly who was yesterday I was that had a lovely lunch with Garry Crowley who's on air from everyone called the big concert . Might be so I don't talk about if he wants to say that companies. We had a lovely long now there we sent a thing every ship's on a Friday night. With produce and they sent it all Graeme Dean was that. He was at sea I knew he was there well it was in West London well I would say. We invited him at the table next to us I didn't recognise the person but I only recognize people by their voices so I just moved could we sit. Down and I thought how can I say Lenny Henry now you won't recognise me he's been on the program before but this face ball in his is like but I don't recognise anybody any place in the world he didn't recognise any Henry you know what's the last episode that you want to tell me he was in one l. Maybe 3rd or 4th walking through reception to go this is me yes or just me brilliance. Very strong we want to do you want to program this one about child injuries this is Carol he says morning both I want to skate across an icy playground or my face off to tripping over age 10 I remember well as I was to be married in the church that. The resulting scab covered my face and I can recall adults saying you can't have Mary looking like she's been in a fight who are so upset. And it was all sort of where my mom got out her think his foundation and painstakingly did a great cover of July like really to be wearing make up. Have a great rest of the day will marry company make up probably is worse than marry with the scab. Off to Hackney on a 3 day which were very good and the go on and told we were talking about what do you know about Brixton I can't what do you know about Brixton 020-074-0000 Joan Simon from Jackie and told my husband had his 1st pair of handmade green crocodile skin Wynkoop because shoes with a Cuban Hill made in a smooth shop called Michael's itself a side road from Electric Avenue in 1959 he was a mall. Old and 15 years old he lived in a flat looking over the oval. You married a cool man has he still got those winkle pickers and he does he have a ban you know cool they play hell and don't both or both you know the Eddie Grant song I'm guessing that was about was about Ledger governor because it's been a lot you haven't you need me in north I don't think it was about Brixton you know haven't you said about somewhere else like we're going to states and I would imagine I don't know I've never really I mean I just always assume that you know it's like Jerry Rafferty's Baker Street I guess it's all Baker Street but you know . So I'm and. So are you coming with me to the house tonight. No we mentioned there's I love you know this I told you it's of 40th birthday party tonight b.c. To Brixton and a 9 to 9 on it were to start right as we used to dress a print. Done thing until 9 o'clock in the morning in this club and then. Time Brixton high to be looking tired or right right oh my goodness all right that's what living in cities all about isn't it I mean and you cause that flight you'll only see this voxels money just down the road but you've got your own Brixton community fantastic I mean when did the last stop do you think that. Great great memories thank you very much indeed for that I commend when we 1st started doing this show together and I was going back to Broadway to Battersea I can remember all the people I would finish knowing I would drive back and there were people coming home from cloud 9 I mean he's amazing the way that people's lives are different for our I we've all and I just think it's quite exciting is when I used to do this program I think before you can I saw even early on I used to be coming down the road at about maybe 4356 o'clock still people walking down there in the Dennis jackets trying to find cabs going out having out of the a full night now we're talking this morning about child injuries 72242000 not too bad just you know the fun child injuries we've all been through we want 3 to one thing that you can tell us about Brixton. And I. Gather. Around. Together then. I think. That has been over the past couple of days according to my weather on this morning 20 percent chance of rain over the weekend I don't mind those old saying we're offering you love of things to do. We've been getting your calls this morning about bricks some we want to know what you know about bricks and what you can tell us about bricks and whether you've lived in bricks and whether you just Paul through and how it has changed or otherwise through the years and this weekend is the beginning of a month long celebration of bricks topia It's an experimental utopia a nation state of mind and it sets to explore and celebrate creativity and I would understand if I read it you better tell me because we can't live in the studio Charlie and also claw Eve a.k.a. This site rock n roll who are 2 of the organizers of bricks topia Welcome to you both I'm guessing you are are you Brixton residence I am you all hands up right how long have you lived there on flip bands since 2001 I think and you moved there from somewhere else in south London or from some distance away you moved all the way from Kennington war on ice a brave move from carrying to break you know for We've had a lot you've heard sitting out there would be long people who have a real connection with that part of town yet you haven't lived there was your connection with bricks my connection is I used to working code hobbling r.k. What do you do. We're with the designers so. I now live in Boston and sort of we feel that although there's a lot of bricks and you know yesterday I was definitely yeah I mean that's why we're doing in Boston right to like minded places to excellent places either side of the river and it's a brilliant opportunity to promote Cross River empathy which you know also what we would always why I mention that also cross the wall so what I'm saying there is no you don't know east No there is all there are others he won't cross to the north or to the south of us right there is for a city and I were a large city but for a city that does call itself London rather than you know north London we don't refer it we just say I live in London no one ever says away from I live in south London if you have people say which side of the river Chico Yeah but only in town if you tell anybody else yes I live in London I live in London we still have this so what is the this Iraq or what is that that is the event or you to all it's just about and you it is only Yeah and what do you design so we design the Brits compound originally. For my 11 Yeah so the now iconic maybe come on I don't know that has they could boast face on it you know he doesn't think so and this is this is obviously the beauty of the Brixton pound is that it can be just used in shops in the bricks an area that's wrong which keeps the local economy alive it keeps the money circulating in the local area makes these. Security printing firm up north they do all sorts of things like football season tickets they do the tickets were Glastonbury as well so they've got amazing. Technology that allows them to put holograms on metal remodelling and yeah. It was coming to a lot of the shops take the bridge out well you saw in Boston this week and 7 will be accepting them pounds as well because God Yeah so explain to anyone who has no idea what the but some pound is all about I mean is it so. It does if everyone has to take it for it to work in that area everybody doesn't have to take it there are bounce to hundreds of local businesses that take it land with council except for business rights as well it's got a lot of a lot of take up. But it's the independent businesses it's the people that that may be a more under pressure as the area develops and so in a lot of chains coming into the high street and which is which is great on one level but it's really hard for the for the smaller businesses the people along Electric Avenue that you can talk it out in the a lot of the people in the market as well and it's the idea that you for a centrally imagine change because obviously chains are important part of the community not a friend of mine who used to if we went somewhere that hadn't yet got chains what I must be a trade name for a sandwich but well there must be tried ever so I said no there isn't kind of a place is this but would you rather that the chains to some powder we rather they didn't well the thing about if the chains take the bricks compound then the money that you spend there immediately goes to offshore investors the shareholders and the businesses don't really care about the community except they can't do anything with the Brixton pound but spend it back in Brixton So whatever shop who has a bricks can take it to the bank can you. You can take it back to the Brixton pound and exchange it and I want someone I want to be called as mentioned Morley's Yeah there are a longstanding local department store and you can they will exchange the bricks and pound for you so it does have a lot of support how much support. Do I actually you know surprisingly a lot of support I did sort of walk around various bars and also and talked to a few people about actually taking it we may do something bigger in the future and you know Larry Dole's compound no no no I think one of the things the problems with having lots and lots of different alternative currency is that they're not kind of alternative currency we need to sort of pull these things all together you know one place and this was really part of the thinking behind BRICs topia as well was that . If you're a local currency or a community organization how do you grow because if you grow then maybe you don't. Remain that small community focused organization but what you can do is you can export your values your values of tolerance your values of empathy I like you know we know that there are people all over London but all also all over the world who want to get on with each other you know in the context of of things that have been happening with leaving on remaining or you know whatever's going on in America there are lot of people that want to put up barriers and bricks dopier is a is a place that doesn't have borders but says everybody can come and celebrate our consent to write poetry can you know everybody is welcome so it's quite interesting playing with that idea of of how a community organization can reach across in this instance the Thames and link to very like minded areas of what is happening this weekend so I think we are listeners who are the live in bricks and or live and also may want to travel or indeed anywhere else in town you know this weekend so this weekend is bricks topia and we've got the 2nd of 2 private views at Aqua 7 on both Pond Road that's the saving from 8 o'clock where we've got art there's talks and we have a. Custom clothing workshop and you can see the benefit I was reporting here knowing that when you came in that's what I thought you were doing the lighting I said yeah and you can bring a bring some of the cloven that we converted into empathy protests clothing Yeah so positive progress so the idea that we're helping churn out the best dressed protesters in town where we're positively protesting and encouraging people to show empathy and I know my friends body part of your body politic in this 7 gallery That's right which that's free isn't it yes I mean it's free and that's from home on and that's throughout October the whole of October tomorrow there's going to be music. And poetry is that right well you know what we've got all sorts of things actually the curve garden Dalston line. And we've got another dress to protest clothing customization workshop with body politic we've got amazing we've got an amazing kids' arts workshop with an organization called Kids create a bystander Brixton I'm sorry it is totally excellent for the whole family there's going to be comedy from Susie brand we've got amazing mattress art from an artist called the back there's going to be up cycled adult playground furniture from the from the remake or a we've got a bloke called Newton who's 80 Yeah he's a he's a local races in Dalton And he's doing some d.j. And we've got reggae from there's all sorts of things and that's the whole idea of brick started to bring these disparate people together so you might be into art to be able experience poetry you might be into politics but you'll you'll hang out with you know some people of different ages and you won't south London to come to North Lawn we want to they want the whole of London we want all of the dogs to come yeah yeah yeah North London has already counted builds and I say if you want to you want to bring em up from the south Yeah that's right we'll go with it we've seen it with thinking of it a bit like being an embassy and in fact if anybody wants to come with their passport we've got a lifetime visa stamp that we can put in your passport so that you can be a lifetime member of bricks the idea fantastic Now all these details will be on your website is that wrong that's right it's bricks Dot Earth fantastic thank you guys so much for coming in you're going to. Lots of little tips and secrets and anecdotes keep coming out 740000 my 1st e-mail this morning was you know woman and grandchildren one of Shall they were twins shut the other one with. The. Children's phone. And I would talk about childhood injuries because we used to just fall over constantly scabs all Nannie. Things are you know causing each other injury on the intentional but we're asking childhood injuries please none of them to be McCall but it's good to Linda in kill the morning land Well hello hello do you well thank you one who got the land for the weekend Linda Oh I think I'm going to fashion because I've been home decorating my kitchen and I want to escape Well tomorrow is going to be the best today apparently hopefully it's not going to rain right childhood injury well in the seventy's Mick seventy's they used to go to headrests in George Street quick Ricky bands and I met this one tough headrest in fact he was the best testers headrest I've ever met my life and he only had one on he was gay and when he missed a charge somebody shot his eye out with another rifle and he had to close off and I tell you I used to say how can you come up with one on any use you say oh it's you do it feels hair it's not you know I've got Crystal vision I can see that and I thought that was question made thing in such I shared with him then my boyfriend in marzipan high street no where where where the supermarkets I think it was right have you seen what they are doing that building a whole new floor on that he's only writing it on the 1st below 0 there now below another floor above I love that clock I run my life by that clock I used to look out the window should be a full stop because it was went back come back come back and then you could look out over the car called Yeah where the farmer's market is what was the general told the supermarket Linda Oh it was a supermarket in the ways it's not what it is where it is now I think you have a little waiting for a. Can we please now this is really important because we left it far too late last week what was at them so now whatever you feel here comes the cold can you feel it. And if it's the I talk is basically the air conditioning but can we focus for one second I don't ask much focus during the program but I'm going to ask you to focus now that. Because last week we left if you like coming up in about 10 minutes from now is the name so we need what we need to listen to. We need somebody to tell us the rules of the knives all yes right we have to fall to lighten my count this is nothing to do with. A right we need someone to tell us the rules you can now anyone get the children up just to tell us the rules you'll know the rules are very simple there aren't any so the rule I go there I saw Otherwise you have to say something when you are wrong right you decide there are any rules no but I love the way everyone adds their own little bit what was it we had lost your favorite doll get a favorite Yeah any Michael so anyone to find out the rules of the name some please you need to do that call she asked now yes a well thank you indeed 740000 of them again to the front pages Yeah Nick and. I morning welcome where you are sitting sorry only when you talk about childhood injuries which ones do you remember well I broke comprise my wrists at one point as a child I think Child Yes and one so I did it before we were going on holiday and my mom. She told me the story she hid in the taking me to the doctor to get it says I tried to go away and he thought I would tonight so I think at that point I had class to my. And he then sent me to the hospital to reply to my. Who had to then write me on how to. And of course how days about when going to be so she very intensively took from her face they stick cheap so all the cops came into the vending machine she could. How do you hear it said I could not see that and you know. No. But the thing that I remember clearly about this is that it was a it was inspiring a sad sad and I've made some friends that huge was running around in the bar with them and it was like a wooden floor and I can remember the slipping on the crack my plastic long on that hole nothing wrong with me but I just. Remember this moment and the whole room. With me sprawled on the floor with the noise of my With little plaster up to your arm I love the inventiveness of your mouth they're very clever Yeah wonderful memories thank you so much for calling in Nicola great calls right we need I love that she has as a child there's almost a pleasure in having a big plastic cost not as one I have to say I was going to mention class because earlier on because I was there were so many boys in my class who always broke their legs some used to do it multiple times as I was so sporty rugby they'd play football on the weekend the guy on their bikes but really quite violent cycling on their bikes over the the landscape and they would come back with a broken leg and I have to say I felt I was a wooden Now when I saw Don't spill this now this is one of the broken I did use feel some envy Yeah yeah cool us and then everyone would sign it and everything else very quickly looking at today's papers what have you found there's a number of things beautiful picture on the front page of The Times today of the harvest moon which is the one that is closest to the Automat Quinn Oaks they've taken a picture somebody taking a picture of it just over to the scene the one that it's on these Even isn't it I mean we had the full moon the other night I think and the Harvest Moon when we have those blue moons when they're really close and very near the wonderful b.b. Lynch one on Facebook she's in how that moment. Of the West Pier you know them so I brought in pair stunning the night before last and I'm just having a look at today's times and they have it they've got this feature about Facebook's Like button is homing uses the man who created Facebook Like button has removed the app from his phone due to fears over the psychological effects of social media his name is Justin Rosenstein he worked for the company as an engineer and said that. Up feature brought only bright day. Of pseudo pleasure now I can relate to these so I mean all I personally message to somebody on Facebook last week who has known me since I was 13 and I made the mistake of I don't know I was in a morgue. And I just thought I'm going to just this person is known me since I was 13 so I'm not one load the base of where I am in my life now so I wrote I said it was called Ready to go and I told you they are by now you average. So I wrote to a bloke I've known I've known him and his family since I was 13 so I I wrote quite a lot saying you know I don't know how you feel about your lies this is how I feel about mine so they probably for long paragraphs do you know the respond Yeah I like a thumbs up thumbs up. That's how room without a text we know anything else so I just I just literally wrote well maybe I've just been contacted the wrong person that's what I thought he say nothing about you out and get a thumbs up or anything I mean no it was that was his comment but the equivalent of the bed my soul was I mentioned in there so I was in awe Paul of your new I guess you would have to leave I would have understood it but what's interesting is that the kind of relation of that is when you're on the tags and you send a relatively long text or somebody explaining something making it clear they understand something and being relatively open and quite emotional and then you get back Ok yes just dreadful right we need to say one other thing though I've been quite moved about this week is and somebody in the papers this morning is the departure of Liz Dorn they were dark with so many were at a funeral in I think was in soul food so to one of the report b.b.c. Reporters who was that he said obviously it was an incredibly moving day they were telling some wonderfully warm stories about Liz Dawn who famously said that she was never really clear where Liz Dorn ended and there it began and towards the end so they they began playing the organ is a traditional kind of few near real music and it morphed into the theme coronation . Actually but also really works well as a squad of a car but I suppose a mortal in Yaz out of the people liked it a lot it was our night she said she was really clear with the I think with the priest the person was Caricom it was he was coming out the service I don't want it to be sad she said before she passed away and yes every single person was wearing black Did you know a lot of people never wear black to funerals that I like. Me to read or May moment you're absolutely right that are just so close none of them of warm color and so there must be. You know think till you memo so I'm going to stay in a shepherd's hut tonight yeah and nearly there with you it's through a website I'm not won't name the website but we all know what websites they will by the end of it and you'll. Hear from a. Overstep the mark but you know the way you can live in other people's homes basically Mind you this isn't a shepherd's house I'm not finish it out to live in the heart it's at the bottom of someone's girl like a shop is part you don't need somebody of the dark because you had Shows how do you have a rented someone through this website I don't know we may go she do you just making me yes I have said now Rosicky I live just sent this what you need to know just a few moments away from staying in your shepherd tops this is what you need to know remember that each home is unique Well it is unique yet Shepherdstown this is shoppers will treat your host home like it's your own Are you want to take into Bulldogs I'd hope they don't treat it like they treat mine and communicate with your host about checking in when I won't be able to get in unless I communicate with them well that's where you should have you a range checking of your age where the key is going to be. So how do you think you're going to get it when I was you know just answer the door when it's on their land. Oh well oh please don't say this is all gone wrong or I want to go wrong but if you know I do any communication between the person who just see you on the 7 is today isn't it yeah Was it the 7th of October yeah 27 I will be tweeting this I've got 3000 Twitter followers now Simon again 6 this week I will be tweeting it throughout the day good I look forward to that No No I'm saying this to everybody not just everybody but I'm speaking on behalf of yeah we look forward to that. Actually though build a law figure out this current state what is it you want to get. You won't get that carbon monoxide Thank you yeah then you'll get that Are you Ok right. Yes just like you said I like. To wait with the windows open but I think we just need to forget this and do the rules also. On the Tx a wonderful 3 Start your message with the word love that I was about 8 years old growing up in Camberwell the local mall bull factory had a glass reinforced roof for being boys and loving climbing we often do so whenever we could making our way on to the roof I remember my older brother saying stay off the glass of course like nor the sound advice and found myself laying on my back looking out through the glass of a number of concerned young faces once I climbed out again my brother pointed to my shins I was very short trousers with long grey socks the sulks oh gosh the socks had changed color. To the hospital we go 89 stitches later are they have to go home and explain this to my mum the scars are still there they are . Living in Essex not just remembered as a lot of next door neighbor you know they say you could be very careful what you show on television because children will always imitate and be silly he it's seen something on a television with some kind of a war film whereby one of the prisoners had been handcuffed and his feet tied together to a pipe right so the pipe was horizontal Yes and he was handcuffed and tied to the pipe and this is reproduced watching the television and I next door because I heard the scream he's saying. You can easily get out that you just moved to this and then . Try to do in the garden. As a pipe as strong. And so there was a pipeline it was one of those serving today what exactly what it was what I think it was you know when you've got a garridge and you want to get power to the garridge put a cable outside of the cable you'll put some can but it won't be as well strike. And that's what we're trying to solve the thing my goodness amazing this is I mean all of this is going to be quite honest there are lessons to be learned let's go to Alison his. Morning morning morning right childhood accidents. Ok so my son. Used to go to an all boys who. I got to use guys to be men used to fold up a piece of paper and put it in and I left the country to. The classroom you could say that. To cover some great. However. Phrases that. I'm. Waiting to be. I was on my way home from work and. When I got home he was lighting to stop. And he was crying they kept telling me I was. My son had. Been out of. The hospital. I was red. I and it. Was dripping into his eyes so I had. And they were actually amazed that they did it but how does it seem like a side. You. Haven't from the same activity of. Pellets yet. Allison is he Ok now yet you. Say you know. But wait some trait but he wasn't out for it well that's too many think straight us hasn't been affected that's what that's why they put him on. The fact that what a relief show that got repeated it was quite strange that he let me just I. Think that you must admit. It's horrible on you and that yeah. You can't believe that paper could do that could you get the paper yeah that's intro Allison listen thank you I'm glad it worked out in the lyrics and memories Ellen says Simon and Joe I grew up in Milk Wood Road Herne Hill in Brixton the Emperor set your remember roller skating rink luxury as a story a cinema grosses under the arches David Gregg's and. Kennedy's John Lewis recalls says Allen and Jane says Joe and some of please don't let people go off to Claygate to see the Jack and Jill with Mills because they're in Clayton in West Sussex not in email about that so I have confused the areas that some like any very unusual but it says this is from Paul and he says Joe Claygate isn't salary niche Chessington Clayton is where the wood mills are in Sussex I was confused when he said Clay gate was beautiful Cho It is it's quite nice but it's not fun to be. Sorry if anyone is listening to us from that she says whereas I'm quite sure Clayton is far more attractive Have a great weekend in the hot love your show. Never put yourself down Joe you are amazing thank you all there's a group of 7 people who tell you that every day only 6 of them on the salary from you quarter to 9 is the time Simon enjoy on p.p.c. Right here logs and every week of this so I we invite one of our cultural experts into the studio lot to say this week it is it's not about a baby who's an all its reporter for the b.b.c. Goes to everything she talks about which is why we love having you in she's got the longest has she's ever. Has grown like a full on get me today I know you know you things happen seriously that have you been in the sun the sun might head grow Oh I did that well you're incredibly healthy because it has grown as an event as well Vinci I don't want to I want you going to come out but you know this is oh my gosh so few people can grow their head so that lens I would keep it you know it looks lovely don't you think that is all you can get something that you don't need to show on the lens Ok so let me just. Get something no you tell you're saying that she wants something does is no correction or thank you I could you know I could really get the razor on it but I knowing that just highlights here is that when you are facing this place is natural you would get this one right after no no that's why you're not already a full although I know it is regularly on the World Service like dragging you down . I don't know why it's very kind of you to descend to the level that we're at this and I know you've been to loads of things recently we start with Madonna. Oh no I would also be Ok let's start with. Let's start with this yeah I'm actually let's start with the phrase all yours tell you tell Mary Jo doesn't particularly like because it takes over 100 all I want to get it right no new I do compromise will be freeze take care of the dogs do you know about Free to oh I only know that cools is such a. Will for those people who don't know about freeze on then. A great time to see in London because loads of all people around the galleries just buzzing with activity and I meant because they've come over to see free zones and it's one of the most exciting phase in the wild it comes like Regent's Park every year for about 4 or 5 days here at the moment. And it's got their. Cases some of the best contemporary in the world so we're talking to I mean Harris Chadian wearing Gormley and it's a ball no they're all in there they share and not only can you see the work. But you can buy them too you can speak to that the crate is you can speak to the gallery so it's you know it's is and I think it is and I say when I was in the traffic going around the inner circle but what I was looking up to date what they've created is obviously been there and so this you go up stairs is a whole gallery on canvas all understand what it's like being in a big tent getting inside the boat on different levels it is spectacular to look at it's really great to look at and if you'll be interested in trends that's the place to go to you know the only thing is if it runs out tomorrow as it finishes tomorrow expensive it's quite expensive yet for an often in part it's about 27 pounds but they're all concessions to. But but but the good thing about this this year they've done something quite different as well as having aunts in sunlight they've brought out sunlight so they've got a pop up sculpture park they have with you may think about the place they're the great pole in the story and that's reality the other way is a similar to some of the trees it's been going to require a scale of slowing on. The Invisible Woman the skeleton of the woman on the sort of water fountain viewed as a tree that can completely stripped it it's completely white. Guys don't believe this Tom if you don't think it I did struggle with it looked like these were kind of 3 bombs these massive cylindrical metal Oh that's right I think it was got all that water on one of them which was really frustrating it was called on top of the old and I could make it up it was. But it is good and as you say it's completely free because in the Senate fun idea is a real trend at the moment it's I think people normal people wanted to see out you know you see. And the wonderful thing about seeing it outdoors is that you I mean can create much bigger sculptures because they don't have to worry about ceilings and walls and sort of getting actually into the gallery and also you've got free to actually go up to them to touch them to photograph them on some conversations with complete strangers in the park and you know what children absolutely love it they're out and they really fascinated by it they absolutely. Love it because they don't just get the people who physically go into galleries they get people walking around dogs people who live near people. You have people on the way to work it's really wonderful and it's not the sort of all you know the public all of the fifty's and sixty's a big massive sort of bronzes these these are made of all different materials including sort of you know natural materials and this is beautiful how many electric blue tint if you seen it it sort of plays about in the wind. It's like come leaves made of material difference it'll come as embroidered onto it and it almost looks like it's part of the park part of the landscape and you could just sort of you know just jump onto it and swing around it's like being in Alice in wonderland that is and that's in the palm. Of Regent's Park Yes you get to it from that. They don't live in north London or you can get up to Regent's Park thank you you have done something quite similar It's called sculpture 70 sculptures on display within the galaxy. And of course the whole life is that which is the the really big massive sculpture as a still sculpture of a complete beehive that you can go into it's completely my save its own lights it's got me sick and that's hooping trigger and activated by a whole group of be in the whole lives in the garden. Yeah so when they're active you can hear the music and the lights are flashing you can get inside and there are experts on hands Tookey through about honeybees in the production of babies and like bees a simple really when I was in Regents Park and I saw exhibition outdoors the 1st on it was only a few weeks here was the 1st time I'd seen a bee this year. No I mean everything else is because when was the last of us or well I was like a down to the country no but I'm in London yeah no you're. So the so this is we've got Q We've also got. Scopes q.a. That some until the 15th of September week to go tickets around 15 pounds that gets you into the gardens and you get to see the scope the scope and the high 50 and freeze London not around $27.00 pounds that's the sort of. The least expensive tickets but Frisco which is actually in Regent's Park that's completely free that runs until until tomorrow and can we talk about the barbecue because I've just realised why we're. There was rather. There we go. This is this is Madonna's get into the groove which I think probably goes by it's at least 85 or something when she was. At that stage you're a member I think it's turning wasn't just about brunette to be honest I was actually at this at this period of time she had really shorthand but and she was just all seem to have the crucifixes in the club. Scene and and basically this is a show about a good mate of has in fact I think it was a boy friend of hers he was an artist he's cool ascii a he's one of the 1st artist to develop street homeless graffiti that was quite political So if you love Banksy and you love that kind of graffiti art he's the guy that pioneered all this stuff and this is why that is. Didn't it. That's right Year 0 tolerance but the preserve the bank reserve. Yes Currently bruised egos because basket. Was considered to be illegal wasn't it when he was doing it wasn't seen as oh it's only early in the art world and I think that if you know much about him but he grew up in the seventy's and eighty's in New York when it was really edgy than him it's quite scary place to be there's lots of violence lots of drugs there was also really creative and there was a a scene it was sort of it was like a punk all saying basically and they still hang out in this club called the Month Club in New York Madonna was then she became really good friends with him and she loved his all and she loved his poetry and everything that he he stood for and of course she became with the best selling author of all time and he he's actually one of the best selling commercial autists of all time in the has he died and. He did sadly died because he became really really good friends with Andy Warhol and all left him scooped him up and said You know I really want to promote you but when will hold on tight Unfortunately I skated to you because he took a heroin overdose so he never really reached his full potential but in the ballpark and I mean he was pretty fit really the so much work in that from his profile of his poetry he's graffiti arts and he was also a musician she was really into big ball up and he loved jazz legends like Charlie Parker and Miles Davis really want to look at this what would an exhibition like that all private lending this doll for all his stuff but I know a lot of family they really closely with the family on this to really sort of bring it bring it alive on what I love about it is this sense of being in the eighty's because I grew up in the eighty's and you really feel that in this one room that you go into it's all about the Month Club and there was a fashion designer at the time called Mary pole and she took Polaroids of course then they had the Polaroid cameras of all the people here in the club people like Grace Jones. Wonderful that we got. The bomb one of our favorite Debbie Harry she was a good mate hey is. This is just what these portraits of them on these Polaroids when they were you know in their early twenty's fabulous really. It's got is a great soundscape of the city and of course I've had shepherd's pie was great. Sadly a mom passed away this week so I know it's nice that we play really want to go and see that ball the connectivity and how long is it on for it's running until the 28th of January secret plenty of time the only thing is I think it's sold out because. If you go earlier in the day they released on the day best to ring out find out you know how about to Kalak ation works it's like trying to get in as you know these places these exhibitions is sold out but you see. Now I was sitting watching that and you know you talking about Banksy Well he's actually he pays homage to you. Because he's actually a brand new. You know that the tunnel that runs between the. Century itself that is being stopped and searched by the police and that is how clever is he. And yet that's going to remain there because they've covered it in post. Actually it's a really big one as we know about this through this in 45 seconds each variant I all propulsion power politics you know well this is a completely change this complete change of 5 but this is one I love the most actually it's beautifully done you don't have to be you know I'm I don't know that much about I learnt so much from it and it didn't it wasn't patchin izing it wasn't condescending and it was an arrogance either just pitched it just right it's looking at 7 different approaches through deaf 7 different cities and we're talking fantasy and then Milan Paris dressed in St Petersburg London City. And I love the London one because it takes you back to. The the Haymarket theater was the 1st place. To. Day which was handles musical. 6 and rubber elms is going to be speaking to the curator of this exhibition later on today this is because you see when I do play I love it . All just for time as she said she announced her time as it is this week did she she sang at the wedding when she persisted. And just lost. Some of the love everything about all of the super flex have even today this one well again this is really good fun I mean this just I did not get this feeling that there's just not playfulness in the art world right now and this is basically a playground they've they've completely transformed the whole into a big playground with about 30 swings and the swings Oh well this swings for 3 people to swing on and it's by a Dutch a Danish trio who wanted really I want people to work together and for us to share a little bit more in the wilds and sort of get off our backsides and think about others around us so when you get on to the swings you can just think about the South swinging you get away with somebody else there is nothing to take you back to childhood quicker than swinging. In the sand. If they want to bottom or buy you how can they do it. Oh yeah. Right when you come in why not is annoyance on a job b.b.c. Something odd and something I'll have to say on the Queen I don't know whenever you one of the greatest things about flying down from Scotland to Heathrow is often flying over Windsor Castle because you get a stunning view of the ground in Norfolk it's at the point where the planes divert awards Heathrow anyway and then if you know the queen made a special appearance on God this question time and speaking of the radio show that is the radio show and she was and in a number the papers they talk about the the fact that she was rather concerned about aircraft noise over winds. For obvious reasons a little bit like when you were and we mentioned Kew Gardens earlier on at the end of Q gardens you find it's a mission that a lot stuff in the little Talking about to reason by Will she lost and the resources to talk about the. Expense I think she's wearing a Vivienne Westwood jackets there I feel a bit like to ease and I say Cause I've got a tickle in the back of my. Pant you know how the chancellor of the Exchequer there to give you a laws and no but my career rests on whether I'm able to speak or know your voice is your fortune or not is the case maybe 9 minutes past 974-2000 coming up it is the 915 billboard machine now we've got a very south London feel to the program today that will. Be on on just right the fate of No No No Ok this is our 2nd south of the river highlight and it's the Herne Hill Music Festival which runs until next Sunday it brings together a mixture of big bands jazz choral music classical and cabaret to tell us more about the divide to say that it's musical director Alan Taylor I'm Amy Sullivan from the Saxophone Quartet says a-g. Performing in the music class will join us live on the program this week welcome home nice to see you welcome Good morning thank you for coming in Naomi just remind me how you told me that I should say says it like I'm drunk. Is probably what you said do you post you both from South London yes yes we are going from I'm from the hill and I started this festival or so. And years ago now it's a not for profit community festival so we aim to provide lots of different kinds of music to local people inch gradually got more and more ambitious as time has gone on the same old multi venue much of a new multi-genre So for instance our 2 biggest. Most ambitious projects this year one or both collaboration is one we got 7 composers and 7 choreographers together it seems and they produce brand new pieces which are going to be performed on Wednesday with a wind ensemble we're calling it dance with the winds so we have a whole evening a modern dance to new music as one lot bigger so we're hoping to have a good crowd for that the other one goes by the name of the Frankenstein teacher. The story writer Toni Brafman and composer Simon spear got together and produced a Junior School Musical which I've been rehearsing for the last couple of weeks with a local primary school St Jude school so Friday the 13th perhaps appropriate very of your average I'm going to be here or maybe going to be performing be the Frankenstein teacher the story of how a scary new teacher arrives the children can't stand him but due to the intervention of class hamster they eventually come to love it and I think we've all been in both of those stories one where we have ventured to come to love a while where we really really do not so this is happening from today until next Sunday is that right yes yes and we began yesterday in fact but the rest of today we have a coffee morning at 11 o'clock Mr Nice music and raising money for charity then we have 4 local choirs on the softer noon and then to see evening we have an event in which my friend who's going to be performing right now I mean Sullivan from the city the saxophone can just kind of play they don't know because we can hear hear. Very distinctive and so this is you obviously are not being and if you are here you plus 3 others who are 3 you do it with. The group as a sort of collective of music. Try to listen to the quartet with myself goven McKenna stay put and dominate child that this evening we've been joined by David who's a Canadian player I'm Did you record that lawyer will do you do studio stuff as well as often album that's our 1st sort of debut album yes or I made a few years ago how does that fit because I always wonder with musicians usually working live with an audience and without this fear to then suddenly go to a recording studio is that was where it or not but I love actually I mean it's very different obviously to live playing but it's a real kind of focused way of performing you know and you get a chance to perfect stuff how did you choose a saxophone because I either when I was growing up I didn't ever did very well with all of them but I did try with all of them violin piano and drums but drums is an issue because you got lugging around we just lug around your plot you practice pub which is not particularly great piano you can't really move very much Valena people think you carry a machine gun or they did when I was 5 What how did you. How did just what we see how did you choose the saxophone Well I played the flute to begin with but I had a babysitter. Introduced me to Michael Jackson one person and she was just the coolest ever she played the saxophone so you thought I was going to hear from a so what are we going to see from you then well there's 2 groups playing this evening at the half mean pub and we're playing music from all around the world. Relatively young and up and coming and tonight we're doing new piece by a friend of mine Paul evident he's a great composer and then the group. Of joining them with some improvised numbers and they're playing stuff off the new album and this is the 1st year there's been. Healed means it has to vote no this is the 77th Yes and gradually grow I was going to say so it must have its own reputation now with us we find increasingly when we put publish the iris and then we ask people how they find out about our events they already knew about the festival and how I mean I used to live in one hills and the whole moon I know very very well but I'm trying to thinking how easy is it to find then use that to the full name what we find is that different kinds of music need different kinds of venues there are certain kinds of venues where basically you need a good room in a pub and the Half Moon is the best one we've got it shut for some years due to a flood it's now reopened this is the 1st time we're using it again in the reopened sway so that's great other things they need to be in based in the church for instance or of course the school musical will be in the school so it depends on the type of event and we have plenty of different venues around in her and he'll be wonderful and also have a night club which opened a few years ago in a rare way our church so our jazz events happen there so we in particular we have $22.00 events coming up one is called. The Balkan party which is on Thursday night and then we have the a bass guitar lead joust group by Rick led by Rick Leon James That's on Saturday nights so that's in this nightclub deep under the railway arch underneath her hill train station where you get the trains running across occasionally but if music loud has very Jamie was a make of a load of different types of music as well and that's one seriously to look out for is there a website with all the venue's and all the events on it yes if people put in her own home Music dot org dot org They will find a website that all the details and you can buy tickets one event sold out so you better hurry and after this a lot of them will be no me when seals on this evening Yeah right. And so you can get tickets online or turn out yes yes most of you know so but there's some left and the whole Flutie equal that would winning fish and chip shop nearly next door as well as yes in fact they are all use commercial plug but they are a sponsor of the festival good for that's how we work local businesses sponsor us I'm not sure it work pays for all our public sitting on them we can put on the events and frankly all the money earned in ticket money goes to the performers fantastic thank you so much for coming in that smarmy Sullivan and Alan Taylor and bigger and better every single year the music festival thanks you. There's. Just talking about her Neal that Happy Days how you played an instrument I'm sure we have had I'd recorded but I used to just flick spit with it which is no no really no not that national giant Sheila says further to the nuff guns in the we're talking about earlier on growing up by the Royal docks in the 1960 s. We were never far from a day Bri they were all playgrounds and they were great at the end of October we would gather all wood doors crates anything to burn for Guy Fawkes night well one year during last kids had a load this is about all of the child injuries one year during kids had a load of wood dumps on odds a very we did a lot of pasta long all the items to place the wood on the bone fides stack and then a boy called Jimmy as they always all threw a block to me to pass along but it caught me on the forward a not to me out I came to a child never been knocked out thank goodness I always wanted to I faint I can I. Point to fight part of your angels are faint every Saturday and she said No I came to her all the gang looking down at me all concerned mom went absolutely mad when she saw the egg on my face I was allowed to daybreak and says she did but I think she probably went right now it is time and a 2nd for the 915 bill board machine This is from Paula bro childhood injuries a broken wrist caused by crushing my rally chopper a front I'm sorry to hear yes the central front should foot cools by jumping from the Stake case and landing on my baby brother and then a torn muscle in my back calls when I fell 25 feet from a tree onto a concrete path question most of these injuries have been to boys if you noticed yet the girls to be are now resting up as brides right. And we started off with about 8 of us are now about $25.00 of us and she just. We just sing for the sheer joy of it but also raise funds for charities and over the years we've raised just under 10000 pounds now and how nice it's wonderful that I must feel great to know I need to do something which is invigorating which is saying. Also to be doing in a good cause is terrific I mean we go back we do the full circle so we go back to support help musicians u.k. Which is all for charity to. But we're so fortunate we were all for Judea to choose all favorite it like it's all around the island and we've been lucky because over the years most composers have written the sickly forest. I know the sun dancing you did a good impression there Wilson Catalan Bessie I could imagine you dressed up in that outfit you just like all of oil right we're talking about childhood injuries this is all off the back of the gun but I can say rubber also just email through Wilson couple of better dances but of no elms but I Robertson next door he wouldn't have you know he would have come in I think he's too young damning. I think with. Oh a hell of a bit with the a case is it scary to Paulette in Sutton Hello Paul a oh yeah right we're talking about childhood injuries some of these are thrown guns are not as safe as you'd imagine. Spud guns and catapult and the like so let's hear your story. Well it's about more fun. In it when he was about to used to have to have a point where he only needs to get out of the play so we went into the 3rd market one day we were going through the revolving trial but I. Hate it when to go through it and I know it was a look so come on right that quick to get hold of him he points. And ended up hurting the show with talking to the whole but over the don't you know you every cut he showed you. 2 minutes later we woke up and he was throwing took aim because he linked it to the road again he's done it again Hoff now like. How old was he so a little devil did he go out of it I think for 7 men so even if you wouldn't sell and. Non-essential we want the look and I'm thinking they're going to get functions. Will they are terrorists on civil mother I've got. Good tag haven't I can remember you know thank you feel cool I have told you this before Simon you know when the boss in the old route as they used to have blinds that would pull down and the post would fit into holes when they put the blinds. Yes and I stuck my finger in on the way I think it was on the way probably to break 10 and it took the whole journey. Pretty much going yes. And it took that long for the conductor and everyone to get my child go out we went to see and then on the way home I stuck. Through It. You know well I was really scared of ones I still remember how remarkably scared I was you have to picture this. Station on the Piccadilly line you're downstairs and there is a lift at speed you from the platform level 2 up stairs to go out of the station and I was very young I mean I must have been I was on my own but I was still quite young and I ran to get the lift and as the liftoff door shot I'd missed but I notice that I had lost a raincoat which in that it had a. Long coal which would you do to pull it put it around you and that was cool down between how well do you. Know I was I was made early teens I think it was just like a and so really quickly. Around town but fortunately it didn't arise with the liquid I was you know how do you imagine going up to that No I'm amazed that hasn't happened more often cause I'm touching wood everywhere unless I'm saying no would that you care like you know none of that is beyond. That so it would I don't know that's what my head here would. Or is this is this would always this pretend that is where they are dropped it from to thank. And. This is from Dave. I know the Dave you'll thing here of another Dave and he says just. As a. Warning Danny Kaye was on b.b.c. 2 and I thought what a great person to save the show for next Saturday Oh that's a good idea yeah China we would have to do that. But we already got one from Brian in our of a next week. So we're told they're not childhood injury he's done when the call. Pulls In Tom Ridge Well hello or Welcome to the program Your lot of No I do see right here on the welcome oh I want to listen to that right and our story so. I mean you've been trying to go up in the station for some time. I set it up you know come down. A lot of couple of childhood stories one the one about Molly which is and not as macabre as that one about the Piper pilot I mean that was gruesome wasn't it not that one might you know. And I'll come back to that but there are Give me the funny one 1st I mean I was sucked out Jerry many times I used to live in the village and on the South Downs and we kind back from a some of the wants of my dad to call the call and drive by Interpol was a 7 time is it can you open up the carriage doors so I went up and when I opened the carriage doors to one step in front in front of a and a metal bucket which was hanging from a hanging from a hook on the on the ceiling fell Oh I on to my head. And I'm really her True True Blood and and for 50 years now I've thought how to scull the 20 mile is at the top of my nose a perch of my eyes you know it's do you know we could go on and on and on about the people as you do the angry about why haven't you just let it go I've been in pain nobody's so nice but now that I mean did you think is now you did you'd be suing well so when your parents as you would yeah yeah yeah they probably would you quite right pull Thank You can you give us a 2nd one because you know so many calls get so tight can't pull Thanks for calling this in to say oh no we're going to pose Ok yet muggles go in with his family Mom campaign style on all cloning guys moaning. They found out we need to Penny or accident each with a balloon it just happened dude although I ended up with a scar not dissimilar to the one the gentleman just met them in the eyes so I'm already fifty's and I don't know if it's because he wasn't around but I think young child I was given when I think it is a brain child and I was given a balloon and it was on a study called while. I think. I had the face of my writing to him trying to go on and on and a feather on it. Running around with my balloon on copper wire tripped up some stairs and while 3 more Brown not only missing mind I know I still have this going to die. We just discussing it the fact that they would give couple while. Tommy did that for years and tell him help. The branch I was that was a counselor I wasn't because I was brought up in bright oh my gosh yeah hi so you little look up or is it because you know you get a lot of money for that Coppa now. Right cool I thank you very much all these scars from childhood injuries and otherwise you'll see Asahara and lovely to see someone I was for I called my head stuck in there I'm surprised we haven't got more of these oh I had my head stuck in the railings at dance and parking Bexley that's called the 5 brigade to get me out when I drive Paul said I just can't outlaw things. Mazing with regards to the head yeah you get this you can't get out. If we save this. This could be our theme to. The. End and who. Is saving the show this whole. Thing. Wrong. Rule. I don't know why. They got Alex Mendham saving the show this morning right now in its 8th year the west sends annual fundraiser returns later this month with a new wizard of all same show Ruby strippers not is not a misprint more than $100.00 performers from the West End stage and beyond this is remarkably long with an a right of celebrity host will come together to take to the stage taken by the North and us of Burlesque with the magic of the West and what could go wrong I would imagine nothing and it's all for good causes because it's raising money for the Make a Difference trust to find a child the United projects which raise awareness joining us in this year let's talk about those shows of the artistic director directed to a group called kind also a choreographer Chris were. The buddies here welcome to the program and essentially his bird Lesko over the years over the last few years has had a. Complete resonant All right those are what complete in a phrase nice complete run ice on doesn't it say you're in the right time yeah it sort of feels like it's very very of the moment and it's one of those things that I think the switch of titillation of it and the excitement of it gets people involved and gets people excited which is great for us and it's interesting I mean you say because I'm a member doing a feature on the wham bam club which you're probably Lady Alice you Poppy know her anyway down in the take a deli and the a very few men in burlesque and yet. So that's breaking the trend isn't it all of they always been a bit slow to come forward yeah I think so I mean we with Western bears because it . Encompasses the whole West-End we tend to have a huge amount of guys and girls involved we tend to have for some reason a lot more male choreographers than female choreographers which were trying to counter me have new female programmers this year which is brilliant. But you know I think there are a lot. The last thing is there's this thing called we'll ask now which is yeah you know yes a new thing happening which is really cool and. Want it to do this right and obviously is choreographer and artistic director as you are respectively you had to have had a thorough grounding in it so when did you 1st enjoy c experience talking about honoring the works here and I don't come from a blast but ground I taught so I come from Iran's musical theater current for so for me it's more the chance to do something completely different and for me it's the chance to come in and work with sort of carte blanche there's nothing in there that we can't do you get what he's phenomenal dancer so from a chance to come in and do something where normally you get told exactly what has to happen every moment in the show but this Dave is amazing it just goes right here you go here's your theme see you in a couple what he says was the end of the jazz version of Les Cayes get out of Yeah it really is I mean everything that people love about musical theater the big numbers the production values the brilliant song. Very much is that with a smashing of burlesque thrown in and so is the performers because it's all of them develop it is that right. I didn't know but to do this to show we do 7 o'clock and 930 and so all of the all the performers all they West endorses all these people who are you know. Toiling on the West End stage and they. Say we have a lot of Western people we don't know so we have a lot of people who are working on u.k. Tours and lines like this as well just so anybody who wants to be involved can be in because it's such for such a good cause as we said more I think you'd think the night shows the way he's enough and then you go oh my day off I'm going to go and learn a whole new don't retain and go on stage and that's what's so amazing about it I mean this year like we say we've got over 120 performers who are rehearsing with the moment giving up so much of that time. With all the backstage stuff and all the creative stuff we do our video design and theater stuff we are so. So lucky and so tell us some of the so each number will be stand on its own it's there is you know so Henri this nation on the Thames from some sort of inspiration from The Wizard of Oz So my number I think in the theme of the lion but we complete turned on its head so I've got 6 lionesses in my number that come on like a lion tamers some of the other ones are the poppies you've got theme from the soldiers from the yellow brick road so it's it's kind of just taking anything that you read recognise from The Wizard of Oz turning on its head to give it something new and then making a number up about it and this is on the fly or this is a picture on the fly which you just showed is really strippers and it's got the wizard of all see it I mean it is a what's beautiful about all of this for you is that you've got a complete creativity complete freedom in what you do yeah you know you obviously you're not performing you're not in this light is it you know you want to be out there know that you're down a long time ago. You know. What's great about it is anybody can do it I mean there is the sort of impression that you just have to be the body beautiful. And a lot of those people do tend to do it because they're obviously very keen and have no qualms about oh but you know you're going to waste 10 courses or don't says now they're not quite back to told and every now is an. All the different shapes sizes ages and everything you know we really push hard to encourage anybody who wants to do it it's all about sort of celebrating your body and being body confident. And we're having more of that like you say in the West End which is incredible. And is this are you doing it for HIV and Aids awareness because of the anniversary this year no it's always been for the Make a Difference trus All right it started on Broadway with Jerry Mitchell who did it for. Broadway Cares and actually fights aids and it was set up by Jerry in the time of the aids crisis so that he in the theatre community could really do something for their friends who were going through those horrible horrible things and similarly. To make a difference trust which was formally West-End increase. Was set up then to help pay for the funerals of the people who were dying of Aids and stuff so it's always been for the Make a Difference trust and know hosting the lovely grandma. Now and everybody's having him off message this will be amazing because he's not a camera up is now you so he be literally able to going to be one free full. Child accidents $916.00 and this is it this on going to use it as a public service announcement Suzanne says in $969.00 when everybody was watching the man landing on the mood you watched the man landing on the moon I would say that Australia what notice trail I went in to have another young you know I went into another room and ate all the travel sickness tablets from my mom's house. I ended up in hospital having my stomach pumped I was 2 and a half so she can imagine how distraught her mom must have felt. A much. Yeah. I think that pretty well sums it up I think it does. And what do you remember of the moon landings I just it was weird but not a limousine No I told everyone has 69 so I would have been 14 and. I had forgotten and do you remember my friend Can I have a stray or who I was yes I did yes he came over here and we went and had a drink and I've not seen him since I had left as a stray and she said Do you remember the moon landing and I went now that when she went you must remember because all of us gathered all her parents my parents everyone went to someone's house to watch it. I suppose I want to you know I'm never been much of a space person so I mean to be honest we didn't write 919 on it upright on another idea station many miles from here about it was the anniversary of the moon landings and we just did a show on it and we had so many people on a shooting they were genuinely of the belief that it never happened although there is there is a there is a group of people who believe it just didn't happen it was filmed in a studio it was recorded I can see the whys I found it fascinating because I just think I believe it is history because of all though I've never seen I mean what I found more fascinating was the effect it had a woman when they come back yeah that's what was fascinating rather than Then more walking around in the. I mean and we're still I bet the prediction was would be there but we're not yet anyway on not know we've done Joe is back Monday to Friday next week from one silver for as long as nothing happens in the in the cabin this weekend and yes I'm back Monday to Friday next week from 7 still 10 pm Robert Elms is on the way to miss Gary Crowley the softening from one and later at 6 We'll be back together again from 7 at the same time next week 7 till 10 for Simon to join us Saturday morning headlines on the way without giving him how to travel every doing thanks to by the way to Jamie and Karen have a great weekend. Thanks Simon Eastern Time field is close close since yesterday afternoon after police since and they're supposed to it's 182-245-3321 diversion in the area looking in the pits because in any significant delays I'll swear not too much going on the chief says no delays but to engineering works the Circle Line is no service from old gates to Edgware Road via Victoria the District Line is no service from South Kensington to Edgware Road Wimbledon even Broadway which.
