To Rose and don't take away the music here on b.b.c. Radio Lincolnshire got delays on the East Coast main line at the moment this because of an incident at Finsbury Park it's affecting services between Grantham and Kings Cross so the best thing to do whichever operator you use check up before you travel just to check what the latest situation is but I'm hearing reports of delays certainly was hearing earlier of a standstill on the line there this is because of an incident at Finsbury Park so delays at the moment on the rail services on the East Coast Main Line Let's do this make a difference with the b.b.c. Radio Lincolnshire so if you fancy a challenge in 2020 How about running the London Marathon How about doing it to raise funds for the Lincolnshire Nottinghamshire air ambulance. And Karen Carter with me in the studio Good morning or good afternoon now to both of yellow highlighter how may well we spread out across the studio today Karen 1st of all tell me a bit about the background of this then and taking part in the London Marathon this is something that the charities had places for in the past yes it certainly is Melvin we've done we've had charged places in the London Marathon for quite a few years and this year we've got 5 places but only one remaining I know. So this one place how we decide who's in title to that one place them Ok so what we do is we ask people who are entrusted to take on this challenge to email us we send out an application form with an s.m.s. And it would be best to run it for us so we're looking for that special person out there no you have to so you have 5 places in total to start with did you Ok down to one. What do you need to know from people a 3rd like to be the one person left to go in the London Marathon I think the main the main reason would be why they would want to run the marathon for us Ok Also if they're capable of running the marathon as well and also if they've had any you know anything and the sort of. Connection there was there was going to be about sort of things that we could make a difference and show you just bring into context this whole sort of situation that about the air ambulance and why we need to have lots of different fundraising opportunities what sort of things do you do and how much money do you need so the link is you're not insure air ambulance and we actually celebrated our 25th anniversary this year home so we've been running since 994 since that time we've ever lifted literally thousands of patients helping them during their greatest hour of need at the moment we are working up to 247 operations and so we're hoping by next year that we will be operational 247 so that means that we're we will be available to help as many people as we can no matter what time of day and at the moment it costs $2500000.00 per year to run the air ambulance but once we will be operational 247 it will rise to $4000000.00 and it's an absolute phenomenal amount that we need to right so what's the current situation what are the operational hours now there so at the moment we operate 7 am to 7 pm every single day and then we operating 5 nights a week so that would be a shift of 7 pm to 7 am so we're doing at that at the moment with the hope that in 2020 we will be running 24 hours a day 7 days a week what as you mention is going to cost a lot more money to do that I mean looking at the figures yes accidents can happen any time emergencies any time but is there a need for that service overnight Absolutely and we've been to quite a few missions recently in the evening and because I think the thing that we need to understand as well is that. People do need us during the night time emergencies don't stop after 7 o'clock and so we need to be there to help these people that need us Ok so we need to raise some funds let's try and do that by people taking part in the London Marathon we just see if I can get this to to work a little bit better in the studio it's not quite sounding as are as it should do but tell me a little bit about you know the gain if person really wants to apply for the London Marathon What's the best thing to do Ok so if you'd like to apply for the London marathon please e-mail us at challenge us at her dot co dot you can say is that right yeah you're looking across the studio just like yeah just making sure it's right we think that's right the other thing is if people perhaps don't think they can take part in the London Marathon as such you have another opportunity don't you to take part in the landmark marathon as well London landmarks Yes So if you're not quite up to the 26 miles you can take part in the London landmarks half marathon which he's 38 just over 30 miles I'm not really doing that as well myself so it's my 1st half marathon I'm so please come and join us we've got 3 places left for that and again please just e-mail us on challenge us at cop to dot org sorry Melvin I got it wrong that's Ok so let's just clarify again then what is the address we need then if you want more details and so to email it will be challenges at dot org dot u.k. And if you want to find out anything else about our challenges is w w w dot m b copter dot org dot u.k.
