Radio somewhere there will most of the showers will move through the afternoon and some decent sunny spells will develop still the chance of showers there developing later on from the West feeling cooler than yesterday with a high of just 12 degrees that's 54 in foreign heights and then this evening and tonight when any showers will die away to leave a largely drawing light on the whole well season clear spells developing and temperatures therefore dipping a little bit so low overnight of 5 degrees 41 in fine Heights thank you Nicola. May's scream. B.b.c. Radio. Call it the hot say. This afternoon and she's with us for the next hour it is the labor m.p. For Leeds West Rachel raves this was the woman who roasted the boss of Thomas Cook this week I. Think she might have said a lot people were thinking allegedly. And today is historic because tomorrow the House of Commons will sit a make a decision about the back seat Delamar table if you have a question for Rachel Reeves Perhaps she is your constituency m.p. In Leeds West perhaps it is about Briggs or perhaps it's about Jeremy cold then the lines are right one just for you you can of course text your question that coming 381 triple 3 is the number of the word leads in them what you'd like to ask you can tweet away a baby seal A's got a few of them annoying. Always a free phone number to talk directly to Rachel raves and here it is a sleeze green call now on our way 10389 doubles redoubles 3 b.b.c. Radio lades. Next. Friday afternoon let's start it all off with. Little Kylie spent in around. Saying is a metaphor for where we are in the moment you know. This is the hot seat on b.b.c. Radio lates and here to talk to you to answer your questions and take your calls is the Leeds West Labor m.p. Rachel raves How are you. Will things considering this considering I'm glad we're able to talk today on the eve if they spread that deal vote. Because the whole world now is listening to 2 sites with one Dale throwing the day you pay $30.00 what's happening with Northern Ireland throwing your party's concerns about workers' rights and whether this isn't right over till isn't. A nation tomorrow will hold its breath how are you feeling before what will be and I pick session. Well I certainly recognize the you know the enormity of the decision we're going to make tomorrow and you know it will be for all of us in Parliament one of the biggest moments and one of the biggest decisions we've we've had to make and we'll have to grapple with. The views of our constituents are conscience's we will need to go through the details of the of the deal to ensure we we're making the right decision what soon as we feel it but you know the country is split on this it's hardly surprising the heart of that issue in Ca is $53.00 point minuscule in your constituency voted silly markets which is very close to the National was very close to the national average in that referendum and there's very strong views on both sides you know and I get that all the time when I'm out knocking on doors especially when we had the European elections earlier this year I get it when I'm doing school visits when I'm at community centers very hard to have any conversation with anyone at the moment when you're not discussing bricks it's and and you know there are people who voted leave who now say this is not what I voted for they're also people are for honesty voted remain who would like this just to be resolved and so you know Visa changes so much 3 and a half years ago since we voted in that referendum and I'll tell you just trying to since then every 2nd all right if you have a question for Rachael read she's here to talk to you that's one of the reasons we've got the hot seat and it said free phone number 80389 double 3 double 3 apart from main leads west labor and pay She's also the chair of the commons business energy and it just rail strategy committee and they say week you Rachel chaired a Commons committee looking into the collapse of Thomas Cook and this is what you had to say to the former chairman of that failed company Frank mayors man who was on with us the clip Now some people have lost their jobs. $150000.00 people were on holidays and had to be born at a cost to the taxpayer so with all due respect Mr Mason you can plant as many successes as you like but you bore down on 178 year business with huge repercussions the cost of those star untouched by this. How was it doing that because in a in many ways you were voicing what a lot of the commentary had been saying and your anger was palpable about what has happened to this longstanding travel company. Well you know the people who we had giving evidence to us this week the chairman the chief executive and other members of the board rewarded themselves with salaries going into the millions of pounds and with those big rewards come big responsibilities as well and when you fail I think you've got some responsibility to give something back and also to give some explanations and what we heard over the course of a couple of hours was excuses after excuses why it wasn't their fault was it why it was the fault of someone else and a lot of delusion you know that Chairman who I was speaking to addressing my comments to in that clip that you you just played didn't really seem to understand the scale of what happened 178 year old business being bought down on the huge numbers of people who have lost their jobs and people whose holidays have been ruined when when he did speak with him we'll move on in a minute a 2nd quite a few questions for you but you sort of challenge him and he said you know I'm a reflective man yes and I'll reflect some more if said I had a feeling that didn't impress you have a link Well you know even the chief executive took home more than 4000000 pounds in the last 4 years as chief executive of that company including a bonus now I don't know about you Liz and your listeners but in my view a bonuses paid when you deliver exceptional performance on notional in taking 178 year old company off the cliffs is an exceptional performance and so I suggested he might want to pay some of that bonus back he says in reflect on the hope he doesn't have to make the right decision because that would go some way towards paying the redundancy costs of those who've lost their jobs Delta Rachel Reeves is here the labor m.p. For Leeds West so we can if you wish talk about that if she is your constituency m.p. Rachel very happy to talk to there are lots of things going on well where she's looking after break states because tomorrow M.P.'s make a big decision in the House of Commons it's a free phone number and this is in our state this green hole now on 0800. Really annoying range of 3 t.v. Same radio only this now Tom in Leeds has texted us 81 triple 3 Start your message with the word leads and he says to Rachel a vote went through for Paris to get a deal nothing was specified about what she needs to include Boris gets a deal and labor is still refusing Jeremy Corbyn wants power and will drag brakes it out until he gets it the only referendum should have Deal or No Deal on the ballot paper while labor playing politics rather than listening to the will of the people at home in Leeds Well us a tone that that place 3 and a bit years ago it wasn't clear what leave looked like lots of people projected on to that leave their own vision of what leave looked like but sure in the campaign campaigners believe said of course we'll still be part of the single market of course we'll still have freedom for actionless trade of course workers' rights will be protected and now there is a deal and we know that those things are true we know that workers' rights consumer rights and environmental rights are protected we know the end of the transition period would last just over a year we are unlikely then to be in the single market or the customs union which means increased costs of businesses particularly in manufacturing and it means fewer jobs in this country particularly in those manufacturing sectors and so I can't with good conscience vote for a deal that I know is going to make my constituents worse off for you know to initiate Article 52 I absolutely did because people voted in that referendum and then you have to give the chance the government's a go away and negotiate but you're not giving them a green card to do whatever they want in those negotiations at the end of that time it was always the case that the government were going to have to come back to Parliament and of course when we voted in that referendum as well a lot of the talk was about restoring sufferance he to Parliament and so I think it is right now that the poll imminent parliament elected just in 2017 just 2 years ago that we now gets. Scrutinize that deal the prime minister brings back and you know I would do that diligently and I and I have done that I hope diligently over the last 3 and a half years to make sure I understand the contents of that deal it's been brought back and think about whether that will be good or bad for my constituents and the conclusion that I've come to people come to different conclusions conclusion I've come to is it's not the right deal for our countries is not the right deal for my constituents and so I can't vote for it's more so you will not vote for the deal tomorrow I won't vote for the deal to Warner and why not I think there are 2 key reasons why I have come to that decision the 1st is about some of the rights that have been hard won and fought for over a number of years particular on workers' rights rights paid holidays rights maternity and paternity leave rights for agency workers and part time workers and those rights are all in shrines in the law and we can't water those down because remember the European Union and there's no protection of those rights whatsoever in the withdrawal agreement or in the political declaration you have a response and said that there were that he has made that one of his priorities in his deals Well that's not is not is not in the deal and no nor are. Protections in terms of environmental protections which is as well you know particularly when the issues of climate change or for fronts in people's minds the moment there are protections for those in the withdrawal agreement and the very real risk is that a right wing Conservative government would use the opportunities to water down those rights and so that's. Because this is an exit document in effect and there is no legal text if this gets signed off or not tomorrow it will mean if it was signed that all those details that are concerning you and others that that would be up to parliament the representatives with this present government or not to ensure we're reintroduced into British law so what's the problem. Liz I guess I just don't trust Boris Johnson take a risk you're going to win the election you think you're going to win an election you know governments come and go and you have periods of Conservative government you have periods of Labor Government and once the conservatives have been in government in the last 9 and a half years they have watered down workers' rights in clearing for example in their most recent trade union Act And so you know what do you have to sort of you know look at the politicians you've got in government to die and say do I feel confident the workers' rights to be protected and I don't and so that's one reason and the 2nd reason is that in Yorkshire in particular there are lots of jobs in manufacturing and those manufacturing jobs rely on a supply chain that is often European wide a possible team from the European Union at the moment they come in without customs checks and without tariffs and then we can export goods to across the European Union without any of those tariffs and that's great for British businesses my very real worry is that if we leave the Customs Union in the single market which the political declaration in visit is us doing and that is the property of both Johnson the Conservative Party if we leave the single market and customs union it will make British businesses British industry less competitive and that means fewer jobs for workers in this country and again that's another reason why I'm not able to support this deal right Yuri the labor m.p. For Leeds West on the big Yorkshire phone in the hot seat many people with questions which we're going to get so if you would like to speak directly to Rachel the line is open 080389 double 3 double 3 and that's a free phone number thank you for texting and one triple 3 start that message with the word late and tweet away. Don't ever wear. The back. To me. The back. Of some of. These people are. Crazy because when they. Thank you. Thank you thank you me you can be. The best. Thank you thank you. The Because. At Sharon just. 22 minutes past the hot seat is lunch time on b.b.c. Radio Leeds on the screen and. The Labor m.p. For Leeds West on the that breaks it deal this is from Alan. He says. Peace in flexible approach to Bracks it comes to the situation when now in that form a leader in Paisley want to design while the time and the current leader appears to be a little better in her approach. Well I think that there is a problem in the House of Commons in that the only view really represented from Northern Ireland is the view of the day you pay a caution fine don't take their seats in the House of Commons and the other parties are representative only got one m.p. From Northern Ireland is not Do you pay in that sense Sylvia Hermann who is often a voice reasonal on these issues but I think it is unfortunate that the only voice we hear in Westminster from from Northern Ireland is not of the d.p. And I think you know I went to Belfast it was last November now so just under a year ago and you know business is there and the people I spoke to there often had very very different views to that what you hear from from the day you pay and so you know they're not representative of Northern Ireland. As a whole and I think you know the people of Northern Ireland in a way have got most at stake from what happens because it's not just about trade in the economy for them of course isn't so about peace in the protections the were secured with Good Friday Agreement and you know certainly if you go to the border towns there which I did last year you know the sense of fear actually was quite palpable particularly even without a deal or returning to an era of customs checks etc You know they want to be part of the most people in all the land want to be part of the United Kingdom but they also rely on having good trading links and relationships with the Republic of Ireland for their economic security. Is here answering your questions it's the hot seat the lines are very busy so if you're trying to get through just be patient it is a free phone number where Bill Getty I weigh 10393 type of 3 this is an interesting question it's really all soldier who's missing and have faith in Huddersfield he says if the vote tomorrow is know what happens next and can you foresee Rachel when Bracks it will be resolved. So if we vote against the deal tomorrow then the prime minister because of the Ban Act secured by my colleague Hilary Benn the prime minister the government will then have to ask for an extension and we have to be clear I think about what that extension was for as a possibility we might also vote tomorrow on having a confirmatory vote on Boris Johnson still putting it back to the people in a confirmatory vote do you want to live with this deal or do you want to learn a lot accomplished reference Yeah that's some sort of people's vote and so that may be voted on tomorrow the reason I say my is because I don't know yet which amendments have been titled and they won't be selected for voting what is happening article fishtail I don't support that I think that you know this started with the people I don't think it can can can can end with palm and just revoking Article 50 also I think it would be better to put it back to the people than ask 650 m. Piece to decide this on a Saturday lunchtime I think the fairest why then the way that actually will ensure that we've got the consent of the people is to put Boris Johnson's dealing with Boris Johnson so confident of of his deal and if people who want to leave a confident deal secure a majority in the country is what people voted for then let's ask the people and put it back to them and then I hope we'll be able to move on whether that was with Boris Johnson's deal or remaining in the European Union I think that would be more democratic a more fair about general election it seems that Jeremy Corbyn is reluctant to do you know why is that true what I think though we have been very anxious about a general election because we don't trust the prime minister and so there is a risk if we called a general election and the 31st of October was during the election campaign we could crash out of the European Union without any parliamentary scrutiny because that was the the legislation in. At the time and so you know we do want a general election and I want to join me called. Once a Labor government but also we're going to consider the national interest and I'm I believe that the national interest is ensuring that there is parliamentary scrutiny and public scrutiny of of the press in negotiation things because you win when. We came very close to winning in 2017 and a lot of people say for not just a couple more weeks we would have won that general election and you know I think we've got a great set of policies that we can put to the people in an election but you know a general election still doesn't resolve the issue that we're talking about today so the Labor policy have said that we would put it back to the people we would negotiate about still not put it back to the people in a referendum and so if Labor won a general election you still have to resolve the issue of Bracks it so my personal preference is that we result in a referendum and then we go to the people in a general election but you know it may not play out like that but I want a general election but I want to ensure that we don't crash out of the European Union to run on the line in Pudsey. Good afternoon. You know don't you know already killed high off was your question well. Well I think well the. Election or the you know to. Election coming down the rope 3 years well the euro well get rid it coming out Europe was. The one I don't like him what's happening not down. Yours you're saying that because we haven't because we're not implementing the result of the people that you know the Labor will use in you know we're. Pretty well paid and I think well we would like to go back to the people we would like to go back to the people and I at last pay when you speak out why not go back. I would like to go back to the people Alpha I think that is the very essence of democracy go back to the people and ask them whether they support this deal that Boris Johnson secured which would mean and as a Labor man Alpha mean the dilution of workers' rights and environmental protection some of those rights that labor and trade union people have fought for for decades if not centuries and I'm not willing to support a deal put forth by a conservative prime minister that would mean the erosion of those workers' rights is that enough of an answer for you Alph. An ounce of. 'd 'd democratic right when you go thank you very much I have to move on please call Rachel's here 080389. 12. West Yorkshire trouble. Or moving very well is no problem to be heading out towards the $62.00 problems though on the m one partially blocked in both directions because of a broken down lorry on the roundabouts stories of the last house interchanges where it meets the m $62.00 to on the roundabout itself is partially blocked at the moment to bear in mind if you hang out that way as junction $42.00 of the m $62.00 so junction 29 of the m 62 junction 42 of the m one and 61 eastbound the interested party blocks because of broken down junction one for base 10 something to bear in mind of heading out way and still looking very busy into Leeds a 6 for 3 to watch the is more in half an hour. Your travel nice 303018 b.b.c. Radio leaves. While it is Friday lunchtime and it's the eve of a huge fight in the Commons. In the hot seat is one of his Labor M.P.'s. Just got a question and 103 now 3. You. Know I woke. Tend see some. Afternoon you're talking to mom this afternoon in the hot seat is Rachel reefs who is the labor m.p. For Leeds West and tomorrow of course the Commons will meet extraordinarily on a Saturday to talk about barristers breaks it deal and Ko-Ko yes or no and with no idea presumably right sure which way that will go tomorrow I think it will be a knife edge vote and it's hardly surprising given the country is divided on this that parliament is divided too and I think it will come down to the individual choices of of M.P.'s to decide what is in their constituents interest and the national interest as well we've got a deal now be important that over the next few hours the m.p. Scrutinize that deal because in about 24 hours from now we'll be making a crucial vote let's go to horse with Richard could have to name it after. The question when you are. Going about the pain for Eclipse and about having a remaining I'm not sure why that because we've all seen fed up we want to leave something options very real I'm out it all. Well I think that if you had a referendum you'd want to the choices reflect the public mood. On that referendum in the sort of Democracy means that people who suffer want to change their minds and the last vote was 3 and a half years ago almost now a lot of water under the bridge since then and at the time when people voted in 20167 for that wasn't carroty about what leave actually meant to mean leaving without a deal to me being part of the European Free Trade Area like Norway is for example and that we've got a concrete proposal and that concrete proposal is one that Boris Johnson is just pull back from Brussels let's put that against the arrangements that we've got at the moment I think that's fair and Democrat some people would say you know let's put more than 2 options on the ballot I'll be up open to that as well but I think also needs to be a simple choice of people do you want which it. Was out. There any options may they are now Dale because you cannot have remained out of there because they died Howard what happened that night from Bangui media pressure to race because overpaid for wallets so you. Have pain in my view really badly treated because Labor said they would implement an outcome or best friend up and overcome brilliantly Socrates why paying you to do a job which clearly is not very So if you have corporate debt right now k.g. To pay by House and the 3 years he said are to logical or even say what people are very frustrated with it no matter which way round you approach it yeah yeah right Richard the people on both sides of the arguments are a frustrated angry people who voted for mine and people who voted. Leave you know that is absolutely true but you know when I voted to trigger Article 50 more than 2 and a half years ago now. Didn't vote to give the government a green card to come out with whatever they wanted and. Said You know it's now time for us to go in negotiate and of course Polman would ultimately make the decision and there's also been a general election since the referendum in 2016 in which I was successful in being reelected and I was very clear in that general election about you know my views on on and on Europe so you know I defied with a mandate from my constituents to to go in and represent them I met doesn't want to I think of the best interests of the people of at least lessen all salute to the national interest so I just also cite to say that something shouldn't be on the ballot in the future because it lost and that's not saying that a general election if the party loses in the general election it shouldn't be allowed to stand next time because they were defeated last time you know the point of democracy is that yes you make a decision and then we should try and implement that decisional that government should be allowed to govern but when that loses the support of the will of the people then the people can make a different decision and those options are put back to them again and so that's what happens in a democracy you could have another decorated Richard Using your analogy where you could have a cracker I would and that the Tories will not and that people want to jam I would like and but but no one again I like them because they know they will win when I feel you must let me finish the Fortunately a painful what was a little late which all I but I'm now looking at mopping painting Eva 3 and all yet you haven't really done what Alpha except for complain about this fight yet today I still call your office within minutes of that are well this is a terrible daily comrade that I didn't come about no I didn't think that I think about it no matter what the hell they came back and even if they promised you a 1000000 pound paintings call them or do that it's a terrible day when I'll continue to play and call what. What you say you hear politics with it because you want a brave a chance the prime minister. Ok quite crisp up Thank you Michigan move on because it's busy quick response to that playing politics wants to be prime minister no hope in hell says Richard Well of course Jimmy Coburn wants to be prime minister and you know I hope there will be a general election soon and we we get a Labor government but you know in the end the Labor prime minister is going to stand up for working people and this is the this deal is not a good deal for working people erodes workers' rights and it doesn't give us protections in terms of the Free Information List try it that we were law on for jobs and investment in our country so hot seat Rachel Reeves is here labor m.p. For Leeds West and this is the number callers are say slim is green coal now on 0803 you know in doubles range of 3 b.b.c. Radio Elaine this is a text from James who recently I have become more concerned about leaving the e.u. More than ever if this deal is passed all workers' rights will be affected since the referendum they have been issues employers have found a new found freedom to change workers' rights look at what Aster employees are losing James says I've lost similar things like paid breaks and I can't do a thing about it I fear workers' rights will go once we leave the e.u. Says James I share your concerns James because you know the fact is the prime minister didn't include in the withdrawal a green meant or in the political declaration a commitment to protect workers' rights and I think that that admission tells us a lot because this prime minister and this government are not on the side of working people and protecting workers' rights they see that as a regulatory burden for business and I see it like you James that those workers rights the protections to stop workers being exploited. By their bosses and so I think that was very telling in what was published yesterday that there are no protections workers' rights and as I say that's you know one of the 2 main reasons why when we have support the deal in Parliament yesterday because not came into politics to give a voice for working people the Labor Party was formed to give a voice of working people and it was impossible to see how the Labor Party could support a deal which doesn't afford those protections for workers Markey leads on a slightly different subject the lines are busy and thank you for getting in touch when you text by the way it's one triple 3 Start your message with the word leads your vice chair of the Labor Friends of Israel and you support the ass bitch Birkenau foundation Mark says could us Rachel police to convince me why I should vote for a party with anti semitic seem all running through it. Well. Like you I am saddened disgusted by some of the testimonies I hear from Jewish colleagues Jewish M.P.'s and and friends and party members about what they have experienced and the life of hearts they need to do much much more to root out anti semitism in our party anti semitism has no place in the Labor Party has no place in society and it is a source I think of deep shame the Labor Party hasn't got a grip to this cancer that seems to have affected some parts of our party and I would call on Jeremy Corbin our after the letter that we saw from Louise Allman the labor m.p. For Liverpool Riverside who resigned from the Labor Party after 55 years as a member. Just this week and read that letter and really take that as a final wake up call to deal with this problem and make it very very clear that there is no place for anti-Semitism in the Labor Party and anybody expressing anti Semitic views will be expelled from the Labor Party by the expel yourselves I was thinking earlier about this issue and if I worked in an environment where anti semitism was present and it wasn't being acknowledged or it was coming from somewhere I couldn't define I'd walk I don't know the door a night well you know my colleague Ruth's me who is a labor m.p. And a Jewish woman m.p. In Stoke are spoken to her about this and she stayed in the Labor Party and she's staying in the Labor Party because the Labor Party. We still believe is the best force in society for delivering a progressive progressive government and I'm not going to give up my party to seem so anybody else it's my party and I. Want to deal with this power not just walk away from it because in a way that sleazy thing to do to say auto I think to do this I will quite well actually want to stay in and fix the problem and return the Labor policy so well I believe that it is at its very best which is a positive all forms of discrimination all forms of racism include The onto some Tamil I want to be part of the solution to that to get all parties but where it needs to be but it's a site place for all people including Jewish people right to raise his hand to lead and pay for Leeds West she's in the hot seat she's taking your calls we'll have more in the middle Richard stead breakfast show I was tell exactly I was told I was the one who looked the most like Jennifer Aniston and so. I had to say let's embrace place tend to be it's a story recently published in the below. You is it was a new story or a bad boy 5 friends no less 5 friends and it was the cast of Friends So we decided to recreate as Sarah said why do we recreate what we saw you be too busy place you're sitting on a table with us so all the riches said breakfast just wondering how long this milk it folks I'm going to take but I said I'm a player and. Jennifer Aniston. Is from 6 am b.b.c. Radio late tomorrow we come back for shower under mattresses with you he will be back from 6 until 9 on and off the Holby City Star mate with him and to be talking to Mike Tomlinson on the legacy of Jane I had to at this weekend's Yorkshire marathon and good luck if you're running in that hall seats this hour with Rachel Ray's Labor m.p. For Leitz West Alan in homely asks this right Jill if the vote tomorrow is leave will labor accept the. Well I don't want to I want I want to be in that place and I don't want to think through the we could lose the vote tomorrow I think it will be I've a knife edge vote and under you everything I can in the next 24 hours to try and persuade colleagues to devote against this deal to which I think is bad for jobs investment and for for workers' rights so if you excuse me I don't want to focus on hypotheticals I want to concentrate on winning the vote tomorrow and here in the summer that's an important question for many who are perhaps Labor supporters who feel like Richard did that in r.t. With the decorator which is his analogy and that this is a knife edge and they don't know what their party will do if they steal is excepted I think is a fairly valid question not to be thinking that through well I mean look this is a crucial vote and the reason it's a crucial vote is a massive it is a massive decision with big consequences so if this goes through tomorrow then the Prime Minster has the promise to have the votes in parliament to secure this deal and we mean we're on a route to be leaving the European Union at the end of this month that's not what I want to see happen but that will be the reality and you have to accept the realities and I would accept Well you know if the Prime Minister's got the votes in Palm and then he will be able to take us out of the European Union is not the decision on who want to take I think. Our rights and our security a better protected not jobs and investment are better protected within the European Union and saw been putting everything I can in the next 24 hours to make sure that that's what happens in the boat we're going to talk today it in part say he's got a question as a constituent Tello David how well they say let's say Rachel Oh Rachel like David I'm going to go away from black sites. I know that you know we're over group or a petition in relation to the t.v. Harrison sports failed. The ethos of it and you know we've also put our petition in through the council and we wondered if you are going to really back base to get this ground back to the floor Rachel and says that can you just tell us what it is you want David Well I'm just asking in relation to know what I want to play. What is it that you're asking her to do about tell me what you want and I don't want to belittle the proposal is that we've been listening listening to the council lease city council in relation as piece of land in relation to it I mean builds on and and it was a sports field a poly community around the West area where I lived as a boy and that was a field where literally boys played all of their players and you Palin wrote and we fight in this case for that particular piece of land to be thank you I think Rachel is a nose thank you for clarifying that just 31 knows what we're talking about Rachel what's your answer those last thoughts here that piece of land of course has been derelict now for about 14 years old and had been vandalized. When it was a was a playing field the playing fields owned by the lead sports and school sports association and they wanted to sell the playing fields to be able to reinvest in sports across the city because these this this piece of land has been derelict and vacant for a number of years now now that that land is owned by them and that is a decision that is what to do with the land now you know if the if the campaign group can can raise the money to to buy that land that would be a proposition that you could put to them but at the moment I don't think you're in the position to be able to do that and as a result Lead City Council have of offered to buy the land. They use that Lance a build the affordable housing that we desperately need but also to invest in sports in the in the local area I think is a difficult decision for everybody because in an ideal world yes we would have playing fields. But we've had almost 10 years of Tory austerity now there isn't the money to invest in that and lead school sports association want to sell the field so that they can so that they can use that money to invest in the sport that we need in all city for our young people now if they can raise the money as a different proposition but unless you tell me otherwise I'm not sure money is available to blossom not only being available but in the point being is as you well know the West area I'm pretty sure. As and the West area needs some revitalizing and I know all the skills around laughs We put the petition chairs. And then you know we've got 12 family scales in Iran the field area of ethnic group a for now the all white children they are not meeting together and this is in the West area workplace now we're here all the many years there's been a sports area and we've got more girls now plain Spall who want change grounds and we feel that while Leaf Sports Association all over she wants in the moment we feel that there is a there to really City boys off the ground when it could have been money could have been invested in now failed All right so yeah Ok and I was spend a lot of time talking to the genius family full can see helping them to invest in sports in our local area because it is absolutely essential that girls and boys get access to to good quality schools not one of what with the council and what the genie is in getting access to the old Will the high school side for example to use that for the sport. There are young people so I absolutely agree that we need better sports facilities in our local community for boys and girls to get fit to keep healthy and be part of team sports you know I don't think it was the answer David was looking for but thank you very much David for your call Jerry no court says the general election is fair issues like the n.h.s. And education and housing it is not a 2nd referendum it is so annoying rarely hearing people make such a fuss about this country's decline in public services as it does breaks it it's an interesting point it's there I think is an important point because in a general election you're voting on a whole range of issues and there are Labor voters who voted to remain in Labor voters who voted leave their conservative voters they voted remain a conservative voters who voted leave and that's one thing you've got to separate out the issue of bricks it who you want to be in government and and that's why I believe that we need to resolve the issue of of how and whether we leave the European Union through a 2nd referendum when you put the deal that Boris Johnson has secured to the people and then you have a general election because I think you're answering different questions you might want to leave the European Union but want a Labor government because you want to invest in the schools and the health service you may want to remain in the European Union but what a low tax small state economy and so I want to vote conservative so I think it's right to sign separate out those those 2 questions which is well I think you know people have different views on this as why I think you should have a referendum before you move on to a general election and you know I would like a Labor government and I would like to remain in the European Union but I do think they are 2 separate questions thank you for being in the hot seat.
