James our girls over there Steven brands in New Zealand so quite a few of them are great and you bumped into Willie poaching not long ago didn't you I'll bump into Willie purging regularly Willie's a good friend we stayed friends throughout and we have a regular meet up and have a coffee and fix the world up one of the Basque ice John Harwood is with his wake former Wakefield Trinity head coach general manager had a view used Development Officer all as it probably did just about everything though didn't it I didn't do the ground I did I was on the ground I couldn't take that off or staved up and he's he was the ground so he wouldn't let anybody else do it that's one part I didn't he's not changed John Harbaugh is that with us more from John to come we couldn't be more proud of our players at the Cougars today say Lee and Vicki we pushed the balls all the way I'm sure the Cougars fans leaving cougar parts they will be a lot happier than the Bulls found and what a great gesture from our club given the boys winning pay for their efforts top club and we are on our way back to go as say Lee and Vicki 81 triple 3 slightly messes with W Y S You can tweet at W Y S daily but actually Bulldogs are through to the 5th round of the Challenge Cup They've beaten Loch Lang today by 62 points to 6 that included a hat trick for Wayne retie Let's hear from the Bakley head coach Matt Diskin he's been talking to Matt sure you're comfortable through the next round performance from Auckland Nevertheless the cloth prevailed the performance of Laughlin you can see right to the very end still tried to get you know target cells on the scoreboard and a real good effort for them the work that out for each of them for the Villa give a good account of them which again today for your perspective what do you think you'll see from this bill do you know. June in some of the off and still some things defensible 2nd half of what you were consul filters are very artful Lochlyn . You know through an offensive point of view it builds confidence and civilisation ships that well with the last few weeks if not with the Clippers would it be look I'm sure you would have expected you part of the government today have a list of the. Some of the charges down field work. Yeah the army it's nice to watch and we've got a back up against. The position that that's in our league you know no disputes Laughlin but we knew that you know that middles would have the same level of conditioning with you on the walls that led on to our job now is to make sure to do that instance when I told you to did to go off without talking through it all just a lot of their money in play 2025 minutes I was a plumber of him just to him a rest played a long time difficult played nearly every minute every game so father she was given to believe that it gave you a chance to change yet you spun around to the biggest testings of you know the. Better came in the form it's a piece of tile look at the things I've asked them to improve. But just tell them it's not to the last few weeks before the ties for the tie to this or does this oh my affliction they're going to tax Rick and injury wise control could have been involved yes until next round Leeds are in it's a good life like an own daughter who's against the you know for those the position that you know that. This is the bigger the challenge and you would get the chance that's a good competition and let's be realistic women the last time a tempest in the final words you want to get the best out of every joy counted you know it's a play one of the big teams alone would be the ideal scenario that there will be a lot of though of course to go there you know if I could well in you which I guess is it a priority when it comes to what degree of spiritual Yeah it is and you know we'll deal with that when that comes out get strong as well but that you know that lots of them were most of the jump in school to look and see as an opportune June it to appear in a in a final and the chance to go through with that let's get a good dog and some of the top teams and and then enjoy the experience of the battery Bowl smack Diskin almost 66 victory over a lock line Lochlann Head Coaches Poll count she's also been talking to macho Polk or the Russians it with was a volley in F.L. I don't think anyone who watched the game would head away from home ultimately where do you think the game was with us yeah. First of all does a disappointing scoreline a book. I've got to give credit to our boys for a 20 minutes 20 minutes into the game less than what we've got no subs left no physical bodies to put on a game last. A little bit quicker than innocent though a lot quicker than I was actually and I just did it with controlled broken off and . Staffa stuff with complete a slit in our fifty's X. And told a story and it's all live and then 2nd off with just a complaint and just a complete also so I'll pray pray plays where it went well while with where I was with Gone. With picks full on ox sauce that I said that's going to be disappointing when it comes to pick it's a mix that is different on the fly with Pal So. That really plays it's really plays that we got to this round despite its call I mean really it's not you know when you play and hold the Hill what you need you need to be a strong position you simply don't need to know how many subscribers I guess you just run out of steam at the end few of the hologram to the fun of the Luther King on now would have what would have numbers to bring on and obviously fitness is a massive thing that disk you know probably at least 5 or 6 I was awake I voiced so I was awake enough and I want to show the now in the festival. Just just. Listen I'm I'm not a techno away from that of that that a good side that they have it's a bit of a bad spell but I'm pretty sure they'll come out of it after this today what we're just going to enjoy today really just enjoy enjoy everything about him and then just tonight has a look it's a good experience for us to some boys he sees that he's you know the strife the level the strike to play out what you learned you think is it safe for today's experience. Well you've got a complete sex you've got complete sets and like sets complete set you know 50 units of stuff and to still really big round about and complete a little bit with them and then and then to in 2nd half to not come play and defend their way and finally away empanel away that stuff that's a big thing and. Obviously it's a premiership mix waking style and starting this way when it's a little. In the complaint and sets a complaint on on and the panel is out so. They said oh no I'll say again I'm really really off the wall or don't really wrap of what we've achieved so far this year but. We'll finish with it we've got to move on from this now and say we're buddies we can get back in its wake and say what bodies are a set and able to play gets with you through that with some small bodies tonight it's a good way you're going to try and enjoy yourself because it's enough to. Gather some solid bodies that I would probably have more in but one of out of couple of beers tonight at the sale it was a big morning and welcome to a woman called to train on chills and there's just say what. Say what bodies we've got and. He's going to talk to get to get the boys to say that they are that girl Armorel in there that up that we want the normal. Or just not show us so many times that's also disappoint said Locke lain head coach Paul couch before that Matt Diskin Batley beating Locke late 626 to reach the 5th round of the Kahlil Challenge Cup It's West B.B.C. Radio lates James Dyson with John Harbin formal Wakefield trying to see head coach Academy cut each general manager etc etc etc No Bateman's been on you and you will remember no will. Play for Wakefield again one of your academy players which do you find no wants no which you find more challenging coaching football or rugby league Well I don't really college football. You know I've just done the fitness and conditioning and other the psychology the dogs nutritions which. There's no pressure really on if the team get Dayton they're not after my head so. We're going to say that the Wakefield fans were great even though we lost quite a few games but. A lot more pressure on coaching. I think it was more challenging when I 1st went to football to make sure that the drills that I was doing were football drills I had a bit of research to do and check up with a few coaches and fitness guys I want to do the right thing so Parker says John did a fantastic job that way he coaching great play such as Gareth Ellis Stoney profile and Benny Wes what Thanks for all you taught them. Mention before was a turbulent time when when you were a head coach the financial issues players were having to leave at its worst how bad was it for you to you know. It was bad it was really wasn't good and now that you know. It's sort of a big complex because the role of general manager meant that I was brought in Think of all that and the. Fitness condition meant that I was in with the players as well so it really strained to my relationship with some players who were very good friends today and would be friends for life with other players that terminated the relationship and they would have viewed me as probably being part of. Having to pass the message on to say that you're not required all this is happened and. The younger guys just accepted it this is the way a lot and I got they were kept on anyway but as I said it was a mixed reaction some haven't spoke to me since 2 or 3 and then there's others who are friends who will be friends for life and there probably are. And that's what happens you know and it was a it was a bad time for things like that. They'd play or stop talking to each other for a long time to go someplace stayed on to help the club through a bad Tom played for contract money on LI and other players chose not to so it was a bit like. I don't know. It wasn't the best of times for everybody you know and wife stop talking to each other but talk on the raises a lot of. Nice people now sort of made friends and eccentric setter but it was a good time was about time feel health as well aside from. Bad times well it wasn't a good time for me also when you go through a lot of sleepless nights because you're in a position where you know you get close to players and you get close to their wives and families and things like that and they depend on success Stein and Super League and the just saying that every corner we turned somebody was. You know always remember oh OK remember the name of our C.E.O. At the time he went to meet with the foot with the fell and one of the guys making a decision on how many points were to be ducked it was wearing out his field toy and they were in the relegation battle with us I thought that was rather you know so you just thought that everything was stacked up against you what kept you going well probably for that reason that if you leave you must have thought about walking away before you actually did you know I didn't know now I never thought I would walk away from the till the season finished to make sure we were safe but. What kept me there was exactly the reason that the said the problem trying to find the solution that's what kept me there. So it was winning games of football it was the people's livelihoods it and I'm no saint I'm not trying to put this across as like . But that was the driving force for me. But it was very tough there was you know talking to players about selection you talk to the players about that contract situations they want to know what's happening next year you are going to say to them I just know you have to say to some of the world to let you go get around the course that we're in trouble and I can always number one guy and I was looking for in the wash up after the game to where players weren't in the dressing room and 2 of the young boys and they were behind a porter cabin talking to the C.E.O. Of another club and that was getting towards So you knew and those 2 players did go to that club I think when I jumped on the plane to take the holidays but that on the planet landed that song with the other club and how did you feel a time when you did leave made emotion at that point in time now that of it affected me it was like I was looking for a replacement you know something else you know as I said I fell in love with Wakefield the Rugby League club at the time and fans were fantastic players were fantastic and it was a parting of the ways and it's not a good time you know. I wasn't jumping up and they are. Jumping from the rooftops because I left like feel it was a sad occasion slightly was nearly 19 years ago. Yeah but those emotions are still there are. Still in there well when I get together with the players we often have a good chat. And people are always mentioned before Ron Howard's and other late kids go to get in some plugs only about otherwise. You know we have a chat with him about the elders and we have a good laugh. There's a 12 much losing streak wasn't on point I was and I think at that stage it was the longest losing streak in the must have been hard to take that was but you know but then you know you when you you say that. I think sometimes you hear coaches say you learn a lot more in defeat you learn a lot more when times are tough and you will have seen players standing up through that tie you know be all the better for it at the end of it well I mean the middle of it you don't think so but ultimately they were talking as they were playing 7 the night Academy products now you imagine a team today with 7 or 8 Academy boys in the side. So you knew you weren't going to win you know you got to go out there each game and get a hard even physically. But everybody stood up and it was the thing that kept us together nobody backed away from it and. Was it worse the fact that you probably knew more about the financial because of your positions there that you were. You know you were. Able to you know you knew the how bad it was. Hot You got it really hard a lot of that you'd rather not known that yeah in hindsight you know I'd rather not have mine. But you know you've got to keep that away from players because you just thought the losing battle as best you came but there was always something in the paper you know there was or was the hour it fell saying something or there bored saying something I just said just didn't sit right. What about the highlights in that time is running in the Other than that the sulpher games or anything that stands out and we were big Bradford Bulls in a night game very close call I think they were mad to go to trial and that game to . And that was their 1st loss of the season Bradford Bulls Yes. And I was an hour ago and I was the 13th of the 13th of April because my birthday was the day before. And Willie perching went and got I say it was April 12th sorry 1212. Fully purging got a. Cut down the middle and he got a Bradford ball should cut that down the middle and got him signed together and got the bread for ball players the son they saw out of the shirt or still got that framed in Australia that was a nice present. Good. Skill something. I never wanted. What was the victory that snaps the losing when I can remember. Now I can either because I must have felt pretty good I'm not sure. Karin I'm not sure it wasn't Halifax and I solved SOL for 2320 of us all for August 19th there was also played a pretty fair play the influential at that time in the saw in the fight who got relegated. That must have felt good to end a 12 match losing streak the funny thing was you know Tony Smith on show he saw me the sound of it was funny was me archrival and I didn't like him and but anyways would invite me out to have a look at the Warrington set up and I said You better check with Terry Smith 1st and you know what when I went out there and sat and got tonight it during. Yeah. And he made me feel so welcome at home and I think I said to him live you know I've had many runners with you but I couldn't of the way you traded me today you know on the way you apply as other players fade off here was exceptional There is a good bloke McKeith Mason good Keith Mason was was good Keith was. Being released by a couple of clubs before going to us but you know he was playing front row as a prop as an 18 year old prop against against some tough men but he stood up and he went to Melbourne Storm and he. Played for north north Brisbane and. Northern Suburbs in Britain so he got a good career out of the game to it that was the books were being balanced at that point in time and like yeah a lot of players that left that you wouldn't of wanted to leave there was none of them that left that all wanted to leave you know that it just got to the point where you thought this is on tenable. And that but I knew I had to say the SES now but I probably knew for 5 weeks that it was going to be a come on tenable. Absolutely it was and it was quite a quite dark time I mean do you have any sort of insight into if I started out at the clubs in a very different place would you would you agree with that you know would are you know as I said on I John Holroyd very well and he said the clubs in a different place in one or 2 others are spoken of said the Simon of got no reason to disbelieve them you know it's different people but if you got an invite would you go down. Off of an invalid night nothing on if they are. All mean when I say that I mean I've got commitments to football you know I'm working at Oldham Athletic and there are commitments are if I was retired I'd certainly go you know if I had nothing no other commitments they all got you know and you have been working with Paul Scholes until he resigned that's what was on the guy say oh unbelievable guy said to before we went on the air that he's. More humble than some of the amateur rugby league people you know he's such a humble guy. If he didn't never talks about himself or his career you've really got a problem to get a response in that area he's not one and he's just as you seem on to. Probably lacks a little bit of a motion that you know that's a good ways is probably shall I. But certainly if he's very humble very down to earth it's almost like you go in the pub and pull a block out and say what you coach of the team he just that thought of girlies. Burke County still is still good said there's a beer with these school mates and their current friendship group he's all school night but all cut couldn't bad word a bad even I think you just realize fairly early in the pace that. Coming down from Manchester United and the Quite a few other little things that were going on this isn't for me you know. And. I think he realized that and I could fully understand that you know. You know just just the difference in standards very different character in. John Sheridan. All the 1st time I am there yes yeah very different character in there is like he was like a tornado. Just like all the air live every body of work with his enthusiasm levels 10 out of 10 he's in the work at 630 and he's the last one to leave when they fall I had the team swimming he was in swimming for the team boxing he was in boxing he did everything but he's like he just is just a whirlwind and it's infectious the he probably had problems managing up with Chairman and different things but as far as the dressing room goes what I think there's a player could say they didn't like in their early. And he got success you know he's been out of the game a long time there but I keep in touch with a most Talk name the other day and he's a lovely like any of them football rugby league fans of the football guys it works with and you know what you could go into all the mathematic now and ask them to name an album as a Lanka shooting name 3 rugby league players in this country and I couldn't really . I couldn't name them they could probably name 3 Rugby Union players in there we could name a few and one or 2 of the coaching staff because they are from all of them could name a few but the players themselves. And they stay take no interest they might flick a channel over and say Leeds play in Wakefield or something and make a comment to me the next day that I don't watch the game due to the profile of the sport you think or feel they've got other things on them or footballers in general very self-centered a lot of rugby league players will watch a football game they can tell you is in the Arsenal team who is in the Liverpool team you know. But not so football is a very probably self-centered very insular there's a football bubble. There's not too many they could name any of the human cricketers you know it's football everything sport will but they could name all the foreign footballers it's just of no interest to them. That's where it isn't it strange as a footballer you've come across that you thought might make a good player there's probably one of 2 of the club you know but just want to tell you that you think you've got to show some mental toughness sees a little bit. He's got a bit of an edge to him and he could handle a bit of pain. There's one or 2 in a club but mind you there's not many there's not many. Rugby League players that could go out and do the running of football or does you know the the amount of running they do in a game there's a lot of running isn't but it's the pain like it's the physical contact yeah that the physical because the physical the football is so different yeah yeah yeah times where you're asking them to do things that they couldn't. Quite often noir the few rebellions. You know over what things like. Just expecting to be that we're going to try and in the afternoon we're going to do a morning session and I'm afternoon session and what you know what are we doing that what good boxing has boxing on to help me have a swimming and I help with the questions were asked you know. But. As I said the album the 1st time around there were no questions just they just got in there that that So that was it was a good experience getting do it and realise you were right in the 1st place well I got to the playoffs for a team that really had quite a few non-league players and just gone from non-league and I got to the playoffs and got big Well Queens Park Rangers you know and a couple of them went on to big careers Clint Hill in the Premiership fits all in the Premiership when entries played in the Premiership. So a few of them Chris Killen went to Celtic So quite a few of that team. Made a good career out of football they had a mental edge on each one now will tell you that that was a difference that mental edge that mental toughness each one will tell you that. But you can't convince the current player that that's the way you are yet with his foam roller and his protein shake. Different world is that John Harvey is with us from away Phil Trinity head coach more from the man himself to come between now and 6 let's hear from Howie Franks head coach Richard Marshall they are 3 to the 5th round but they had to do it tough didn't they against late tries from Elliott Morris and Luke Cooper for a 2824 victory at the South lead stadium and Richard Marshall has been talking to you but in a cheesy Richard you're through but only just here only just here the 1st half wasn't it was abysmal for we were pretty omes look as we always do seem to be doing not quite a lot of the moment is credit in the opposition and probably not you know for that my own team book The opposition were really good they are the top of the league for their for a reason they're a strong team place nice football and the cause in the 1st half was really proud that we got back in the game and not just proud of you know we should be we should be putting points on and I'm playing with a little bit more saw and I thought I was there for all to see in the 2nd half a bit of a scruffy try to ALL the end. But yeah a job gone and but he certainly isn't top marks. So what changed in the 2nd half what made you a much stronger side to contend with do you think we made a couple substitutions we'll move to call the people round I thought the flow of the game for us we didn't want to go out the court ultimately we didn't want to go out the courthouse today a year ago we went out to all them and which was reapply the lowest point of our coaching career and no disrespect to all of them but I think. You know the top of the competition and not by fluke. So we're already had of where we were last year which is important support for the pope to get into the next round. But it was important for our place to to get out when feeling back up with not one for a cup. A week with not one away all season so to get away when I'll be in the in the challenge cook will take up but we won't take the performance. But we we need to it we need to. We're going to reset the board start again last night we're going to do more work outside we're not going to do so much in the gym we need to be outside in a ball that runs Lynn in our air come up with the ball instead of process the opposition So how important is this win going to be for you given even the bigger picture. It's important for next week it's important for the club as we say support for the place confidence. There won't be we've just scraping through. And neither am I Our defense is nowhere near our control speed needs to improve and seem to say that quality quite often so I'm going to stop saying that over the next month hopefully. And there we go that's the how the facts head coach Richard Marshall giving his thoughts on the victory over Hans let's not let's get the opposites sides from head coach Gary thoughts are these also been talking to. Her it was those quite some game. Points Yeah obviously very very disappointed with the result but the same time the proud of the players I thought they'd give a really good account of ourselves today against a really good championship side so I think we can be proud of a lot of what we did but were still really disappointed with the result and you know I thought we were real opportunity to get the next round the Challenge Cup But you know at the last 50 minutes of the game I'm like why do you think that was going. Went against his massively. Well that was a bit unfair you know we go months a min and then I think should've been a symbol on the other side because they took in the air and I thought I was a very dangerous collision and normally that's the symbol in but the referee didn't see it that way so they were on the wrong end of the penalty count 2nd and I'm not sure if that's due to fitness level or is it playing at a high level but yeah they got a role and they got a they got it they got some momentum and we can we can. And yet in the post half you certainly had some momentum after losing an early try scoring at scoring 3 yourself yeah yeah we controlled the game real well it we knew that we knew what you know this stuff big and then it deploys in depression the 1st 20 minutes but we rode we rode the storm and then we came through it and I think we deserve it deserve. To be in the lead it's half time definitely you know we gave as good as we get and we spoke about just going set to set really and trying to complete that with exit and turn around but we came up with a few errors and then as I said the penalty count went against as much when their momentum the momentum swing went in their favor 2nd half on they did let me let me take you to 2. Not too many opportunities to score in the 2nd half with you you've scored 2 penalties Yeah half time here or there yet I think their defensive effort steps taken after in the offing obviously have to change something after him and he did you know they're certainly picked up the pace defensively and we found opportunities out to come by and I was a little bit disappointed about that before we create enough chances amid the one we're down to 12 men there were a couple chances on their line that we didn't. Like I said you know Championship side it gave us a measure where we're up. Immensely proud of the effort and I thought I thought you know from one of 17 The boys just stuck out so it worked really hard for each other and made Ali work for all their points and I can ask any more of them really. I think your more ice answered my next question because I was going to ask you where where do you see yourselves out now because you want to see how far you've come along and even at least part of this season. This is your 1st defeat in a competitive game of the season yet. What does this mean what does the show about what the season or I think we've come a LONG Well I think. I think we've been. The top 4 Championship club all the way today and we were just a couple of plays shore in that type of quality. The important thing for me now is that we take all the positives out of today into the next to league games we got 2 real cheerfully games coming out one away at White 7 want to get old and that was always our priority to get out of this division as best as best we can but I think with the squad that we've got on the squad there are a farce of got you know we're not too many play short of being ready for the championship but we've got to get out of this division 1st and foremost I just want one more point Gary there was a guard of honor for Richard Moore today that was a lovely lovely gesture is forced to retire from the game yeah just give me a word about about him and what his contributions bring to the guy. I mean I think it's all been said about Richie. Career and his is record speaks for itself has been a massive loss for us you know we put a lot of time and effort into signing him and it was open he was going to be the catalyst for us for this year and we've lost him after one game so massive loss whereas you know that happens in the game and I you know I can look back on a really really good career is been really good which have been a and they'll be a big loss to wars and we wish him all the best in whatever he does. Head coach Gary thoughts and facts winning 2824 the south leads that pushing the Championship side really close to their reminder Keithley cougars pushed for bulls close as well and the Challenge Cup The Bulls winning 14 points to 12 in the 245 kickoff and super Wakefield Trinity have the. For the victory of the season they're up to fall spots as well in points difference it's the 2nd home when they beat sulfa 3322 let's get the thoughts of head coach Chris chastised me talking to Tom Aldous I'm Krista can you just give us a your thoughts after the victory this afternoon but it's always it's always plays into it to get a win for a home in front of those crowd we don't want to have the last you know the last 2 or games so yet send us fans home eyepieces place in just a real dog good performance I think from the front from us today and. You know all those kind of kind of words really really good side and you know when you give them cheap possession the can in the can hurt and it came in in this competition and when you got to have got it makes it very very difficult so yeah it plays with the result. I think that's been the biggest margin now that we've that we've. Dealt with one with corporate danced sulphide over the last 2 or 3 years so yeah actually to get that visual is is really really pleasing What was the most particular please nice mix of the films that you can because he certainly seemed to show some real talent skills and Scott's really good Tris one thought the star for the star the gamma for the you know the pop goes off to really you know goes on the front for quite a lot. You know that just lays up big platform there for the for the hostage to play a little bit with the with the ball so you know we you know we would score some some some real nice tries out there which is probably the one criticism of got. It's a fact that when we get him into leads we kind of were kind of a little bit too conservative for for for my liking and you know kind of let him back in into the game because of that but you know we got a big place to go to be up there with the with with the result which holds itself again passing the time in that game where. That quite a bit meant to him and you know the books people can contend they're really quick speech so. You know I thought the full. Clicked really well today kicked the ball really well. And like I said so for the really really good side they did their bit like holes in the fact that we were gritty we would never go away for change we don't be doing their work out really really hard for the children and they did it again today and how we've done and some still early in the season how important is not to get a victory over a side around you in the table and keep yourself not chasing pack in the top 2 to you have you know we're not looking at a terribly small import that we we just go with it all have been disappointing to you and say hence Warrington I'm an old we target this these next 6 weeks of a really important way you know. I think 6 home games until WAY games and you know we didn't go off to a great start so we'll turn from I think we can from 4 now we've just got to make sure that we keep the foot down on the foot down on the pedal and hopefully try to get some momentum over the next chord which according to going to Eastern bill to put towards the end you know going off what's the story with him. They got his leg yanked in a tackle. And stood up an attack on is out it pulled by you know pulled by a sulfur player and felt something should or worse so it's not ideal not ideal of a level look at the level of at the incident as well and you know when I finish with this interview just by just safe is everything you know that we need to make people out about. Will find we. We give up until open till kickoff and it's not fair. You know to talk for top form but. It looks pretty doubtful for that choice if I'm honest fingers crossed for that one bill to picking up an injury in Wakefield's $3322.00 victory over sulphide Red Devils today we're going to play a spot of you from 20 right now before we finish at 6 let's hear though from his field Giants head coach Simon Walford back to back victories for them for the 1st time this season 3 wins in 4 games they were at London as well as a tricky place to go isn't it $3826.00 the Giants basing the Broncos and Simon has been talking to Fraser K. SIMON That was a good strong victory out there do you feel that this is a little bit more for a return to the form that you might have expected at the start of the season yeah look I think so I think the last month with. Clips is that we've turned the corner always come through that really tough period we had the 1st month and you know it's funny it's a funny game rugby league to stand up and start to put some performances together and we start to get some plays back so. You know and I've been around long enough to know that you get to go through those periods at some stage during the year and fortunately for us we. You know we've come through that now and you know we've put ourselves in a in a lot better position have the last 2 or 3 weeks in you know the still 20 games to go you know get Like I said the next 2 way should say 4 or 5 players back into our team so people can forget and we've still got 456 play still missing out of our 70 . 6 wins like today even more even more. First half was particularly good you know this is obviously lots of tries in the squads London are a team who kind of build momentum and when they get a couple of tries behind them they can force their way back into games that perhaps they should never have been in the 1st place but you're always able to just keep your nose ahead not allow themselves to sneak back into the game yeah I got a little bit hairy in the early in the 2nd half they went they got a try and I just before half time I got one OS on us in the 1st 510 minutes in the 2nd half and I got back to the Night point obvious and. I belong to say if I said I was a little nervous that stage because you know too many times she would have been put under the pump by teams and we've you know we've buckled under the pressure and we didn't do that and I thought you know we found we worked hard to find a white had to wrestle some momentum back into our into our fiver and we did that and then rubber put a couple chars on to give us give ourselves more breathing space so that's that's the most pleasing thing to die when you land and we're going to come at us at stumps some stage that they haven't gone to why oh yes the guy was never wanted to you know the last 5 or 6 minutes it was placing to say to stand up to it to him when I did come out and find a way to reconnect you got a short turnaround for Wakefield it was was there anything you saw today that you particularly concerned about had of that kind with a limited amount of time to work on it yeah look our age difference was put under a favorite of pressure today and you know sometimes that can be a result of what's happened on their inside but I think now we come out with support. We have to carry our right age looked vulnerable we're number of times that I say. You know they're pretty partner left age with deal to play and I sort of guys were going to sort out that in fact as you know for a field session she's day that's for sure John sports Simon well funded sort of field policing London 3826 well if I'm out Frawley before we finish at 6 o'clock on the West Yorkshire sport is B.B.C. Radio Leeds James Dyson with the 3 till 6 with me John Harbin former head coach of white Phil tryna see. Poll in some tweet he says just to say thanks John for what you did at Wakefield always be remembered in our history as Paul and Robert Ward tweeted the attachment had a picture on it and it said Does John remember this I'll show you the photo and you did and I remember it well it's. With the crowd after that follow your name again so often it just looks like it's the height of summer doesn't forget how warm it was it was September mid September there was a good though. 1001 good day good weather good result for shits and Huddersfield down so from the war structure point of view what's. What I think we were really worried of whether you are going to. Understand that So when you go back to say go back home but home is sort of where is home for you Well it's it's here and there you go back every year and I went back in 2000 and coached for 3 years coach back in rugby league for 3 years in trust Cup level which is a very high standard. So. In and then John Sheridan rang me up to come back to Plymouth Argyle with him our partners from Wakefield. Probably had enough of a strike in those 3 years and prefers the Yorkshire village to be in Queensland. You look at me like hack and she thinks it's very hard to get very hot though doesn't it and there were particular where I come from a very humid it's the unity that was what she didn't like. And she and her family from here doesn't get that but I get maybe a wave. I go back every year and. You know I've got family on the East Coast and family on the west coast so I see a bit of a struggle when I go back you see a lot of Australia when you go back yeah family on the east and west coast but I mean ultimately when you do retire whenever that is and you look back on your time in rugby league. Wakefield and other clubs as well how will you reflect on that time or think feel was that the year with even with all its dramas that created I. That created stimulus it was it was motivating to get up each day and go in and you knew you had you would do you every day you when you're facing a battle. Still remember that Tom will remember the fan Steinle oil or remember that last game against or for the I'll remember Baden Bradford Bulls on the 12th of April and. The biggest satisfaction I get out of it is you know other people have made a career out of rugby league like you know the ones we spoke about but beneath them there were quite a few that had a decent career at a lower level people like to talk to him for instance Tommy Yorkie. Nathan batty colliers they played for teams like badly enhanced and recorded they sent career out of the rugby league in addition to the ones that you know you Kate nice and you guys Ellis and you Danny bribes in and Benny Westwood in addition to them there was quite a few others that. Did well out of the game is there anything you might have done differently if you had your time again with Wakefield I need and you. Know it's easy to just grab every opportunity presented itself nothing that's what a lot of Sabella. People you get presented with an opportunity. Or just take it and then think about about afterwards you know so I've done a bit of courage in New Guinea and when I went me 3 years back before I came I mean it's only little spell in New Guinea I don't regret that one bit when I was a Fijian the coaching course with a. The sport whether it be football or rugby league is taking around the world made me a lot of friends so I'm not going to be bitter about anything that's happened and as I said I want to people stop talking but when you add it all up it's probably out of everybody of medicine less than one percent of people are being counted that you leave not on good terms with more pros than cons Well a lot more you know you're not just you've made friends for life nor go to places near where people run if you will in both countries here and Australia and say. I went through a phase where people caught up to us and you catch my dad. But now I'm in counter and you catch my grandad Oh no I yeah it's. Really talking about the white family who've done very well in rugby league in Australia they're in the danger Indigenous family and they'd want to tune the represent of the Australian Indigenous team and I've done very well and they great athletes and good sports but in turn they've had kids. At a young age and they kids have had kids at a young age so it's not as unrealistic you know when a kid or father 6 comes and says My grandad said you used to. Go out and all that. And then you need to just double check how our old easy. But the granddaddy himself is probably only Any 60 he's just a kid at an early age it's not easy. It's not it's not quite as bad as it. But you know you still do it and it's you know sport obviously means a lot so you there's no you know I think you get a lot of life skills out of sport you know you're always getting up there and you've got to get up. You've got a certain level of commitment if you haven't you don't make it and then you know you can pretend you have. You can go and then play the game and not be totally committed but you really are just playing the game and nothing's as bad as the Abbotts why now I wouldn't know you've got me wrong way I think. For friendships are made and they have a nothing's as good as the. You know I don't go around saying that it's not it I don't say it to impress people I work 15 years and have a class not the kind of thing you say to impress people but if you went around and said I had off guard so playing I've worked in the Premiership with that impresses people. But the 15 years the friendships are made there's nothing as good as the arbiter. But in terms of the job the job in the blood and guts some of the jobs some of the jobs but we do me a favor you go back to Wakefield and watch a game sometime this year yeah as I said or not when you've got nothing else so. I don't wake up and so on did not count I don't know I had to wait for well I'm sure if anyone from the clubs listened to this extended invite for one of their former head coaches that kept them in simply because of course if you haven't probably wouldn't be playing sulpher today it might be in the Championship it's all for. Gets mentioned quite a few times in. My time with like real. You know and they were good people too they were just a working class team with poor crowds. But the crowds were loyal and the typical white field set up really when you came to this country how long was it before you realize that rugby league fans in general are very very different to other sports fans Well what I did was I followed it all the time when as in Australia so I knew and one of the players or coaches in Australia played for Castleford. Very chic and so he. Used to get the green sport the Yorkshire sports and I would to me so awful of all the rugby league even though. I knew what it was like but the 1st experience was. When I was with him on him still came up towards St Helens play Wigan as a friend invited me up it's and some guy yeah you thought you were in the. You know it was like a battle on a failed. You know just like a you could imagine the 8 years ago the War Of The Roses for instance and that's what the fans are that's what that's the 1st impression I got that they're very passionate probably more passionate than Australian fans but it's a different atmosphere isn't it yeah yeah you know I think the you know a lot of that lot of the Australian stadiums that they sit on hills with no roofing overhead but here they are just rebounds and the rights of the of the stands on the roof and and I think when I 1st came out here I think it was Johnny Thompson's testimonial and this was in the 1st week of Wakefield and it was a miserable night and it was raining and it was cold and the fans that came to that testimony is still there in the open and I said to one guy who I later met I said why would you stand there when you can sit under the protection and he said I stood there cause me dad still be felt like it's traditional the puts and moves on. But it's a very different club but that spirit among the fans of the players is still yeah still there well wouldn't expect that to be in a different Absolutely not John Harvey with us on West Yorkshire sport let's get a player's point of view on Wakefield's victory over SOL for today let's hear from tinea Rono he's been giving his post match thoughts to Tom Alderson there on the can you just give us your thoughts off that follows from your side this often and. Yeah I thought it was a. Tough performance so for noise to be and you know they never go away so for the boys somewhere to hang in there for 80 minutes performance set the standards in there in the 1st half really really good lead on the back which really drawn the folds well as we hope it will how you saw from the perform this afternoon Yeah it was a good you know reaction to the last week I thought we were been preparing. This whole week about getting off to a good start because you know gets warrants and we probably miss that opportunity so so right so you know it was a big deal for us to work on that and I thought we come out the books ready and what was the key message from Chris at halftime and obviously it was self it showed what they could do in the 2nd half came back yeah like I said before they soften you know they don't go away so it's more just maintaining our performance and it's keeping it's a high standard all the way to the idea because you know you give them a sniff and you know they'll come back far and so I thought we probably went into a shell a bit in that 2nd half but you know still a lot to learn and positives to come out of that nothing said that you know that a period of dominance where this goes not to the tries and you but there's no panic from the team and really good start again management took away and then that was the really pleasing Yeah that's credit to our you know aspirant with you know what he milky coffee and just controlling that game and you know he can face kicks to touches and slow in the. Slow in the speed of the game down to well to how we want to play. Yes All credit to the spine really and you know even some good results to share and some disappointing wins but how important pleasing is it to get a win at home enough to see a lawyer farms and build some momentum here yeah I think we're one before today we're one from 3 so it's a big goal of us to come away with it when I think we're on a let's go early store early in the season but you know it was all to finish win today and finish 4th after this weekend or lose and finish not after this weekend so. You know it was a big win for us and I thought it was the most atrocious white Phil Trinity up to full form points to France today after that makes 3 of a sulfa 33 points to 22 how to fill Giants have completed back to back victories for the 1st time this season after the 3826 victory in London this afternoon at a place point if you will not win from off by Mats Fawley's been told. To phrase a K. That was a that was a good victory out that and it seems a little bit little bit more like this is what this team is capable of after offer difficult start to the season yeah 100 percent off and. As he said Republican are they sort of I get in from John's Hoffa I'm actually reflecting on the victory down in London today a long journey back from his but when you go to points in the pocket. Lou issue for a in a moment we just give you a repeat of the full time results if I had 5 pence every time someone said Can you read the full time results more than once Be a Millionaire Well not quite but nearly These are the full time results on Sunday March the 31st in the back Fred Superleague London Broncos 26 host field Giants 38 Wakefield Trinity 33 softened Red Devils 22 Wigan Warriors 42 Catalan Dragons nil in the carle Challenge Cup Barrow Raiders 16 York City Knights 32 Buckley Bulldogs 62 Locke lane 6 Jewsbury Rams 32 West Hall 6 Featherston Lyon 6 Doncaster 4624 Holly facts 28 Keithley cougars 12 balls 14 Oldham 14 witness Vikings 54 Sheffield Eagles 12 Leeson Churi NS 34 White Haven 21 at Rochdale Hornets 22 and Workington town 21 Newcastle thunder 20 there probably have about 565 let's finish by hearing from at Lewis's you for a lot of batteries try scorers today in their 626 victory over Locke lane they won by 62 points to 6 or 9 of the 3 the 5th round of the Challenge Cup and you for a has been talking to Matt sure the way congratulations into the next round of the court are with that from experience to acknowledge there's a good sort of good to play in the. Famous can be shown in airing in London last fragrance. Or they go and serve it and I think we are here with a win today so just going as good as they made you work through obviously with a cool wind but we pressed by just on which they threw it yeah we got some really big for them quite of we're still going to beat that start to under them birds. Burn them a bit with speed at the end and that's scar didn't reflect that they deserve a bit better I think. You've got to start the season you've not the result he wanted for confidence how it was today to score some points get a victory to go yes a good win in their winnings Goodison and some time win this yes off just a bit when I think we start to get better last few weeks in Staunton to assume such will wear so we're just going to keep going on that and work out for next week he said look it's a foreman's week isn't it you put through a lot of the witness you could ask for it yeah but it's always good you know which Reagan stiff opposition is make you see realize we are as a team so just looking forward to it in your opinion where do you do through that to be sure you do stockades with the Only a few We just need to control the game or sometimes we just plain too fast you know that they just run over us and we just let it go sometimes just a bit of unlucky maybe are just not enough expenses going to working out and things going to come I think people will tell from the rocks and you're usually not for around this area how are you finding life in England so badly you need I mean you know I mean everywhere in England I mean at one time before the new white even now here it's only in a warning unlike. Yes destroying the slogan it out of coming to elites in strength Oh look at the. Next round the stock question. I'm only going for the French to me so it's a result that I don't know when they come in and just want to play them he's criticize on the Catalan or to lose on the Louise you for a can understand why. Speaking to us on the West Yorkshire spot it's almost as far as we go has been a lot of people getting in touch John certainly wakeful fans thanking you for your time at the club Joshua said that comment from John made me chuckle my doubts in a specific seat in the Carnegie extension is stand now because that's where my grandad stood and I will probably do the same as so much tradition in the sport is really think I want to say to the Wakefield fans now I just keep supporting the club you know and through the good times and the bad and on sure they will I don't think there's any need for me to say that to them but certainly thank you to them for the time I had there they made me tired a very enjoyable and it's gone on ever forget but mentioned at the top that could you see yourself ever been involved in the sport again what on earth I've done I never close the door on anything and as I said when opportunities come up I usually take them but I'm quite happy at all the math League for the time being on that or my and then I'll go. Over to Australia and and have a look at what's happening over there not bad life is a good life it's a little Are you glad you. Glad you still started it's Wellington Covena if you're only here once and you are indeed only one sailor it's true. Who's going to be the new all the manager you know they've got the youth team coach shoes he will have the job till the end of the season is only a games to go right it's going to be very tough to make the playoffs we need to probably win father of the year I games. Which will be difficult because the 3 of those games against teams pushing for the playoffs. And then I think in the off season a lot of the retaining P.P. Manowar or get another manager in but we've gone through. 3 in a year yeah but Wakefield back in the day has now. Will move on thank you Jon it's been an absolute pleasure to see Webster 18 years Thanks James let's not keep it as long X.
