Tell the judge U.K. Slash local radio previously B.B.C. Radio waves will get the thoughts of Bradford City Manager David Hopkin in midfield or Jack Payne a little bit later I'm going to start with that Legion ited there because the head coach Marcella be Elsa says striker Tyler Roberts will be back in the match day squad for Saturday's trip to Bolton the Wales international has not been involved for the past 2 matches with 5 games in the 17 days to come over the Christmas period says he's not ready yet to rotate Hey squad that means a striker Patrick bound for down especially Number 10 Easy Brown will not start to the Trotters us by being back playing after long injuries the situation of is he going to do one of them for they are different once they have done for it was absent for 4 months when the baby book for 4 months and Isabel hasn't lain of last year and there's you can easily understand the process of easy ground can be the same as the one as Dr got to goes either has been innovative and available 3 times more than butter and regarding the possible route Asians we have to see how the players in a simulate the. Load of different games of that they've played in this full time and we'll charge a ticket to come and see it affects the physical well and the full build. For himself each of the each of the players and reads We also have to take into account the possibility of injuries because when you played so many games in such a short time it increases the risk of interest. Middlesborough nearly is always a man with a lot of experience told me that the December was a crucial month for the Jet Blue Chip So we're trying to adapt on Jewel find good solutions for this moment of the competition. As it stands or you expect to making few changes if any for the trip to Bolton you haven't decided the starting 11 yet goalkeeper why she said you did not know too much about whether new goalkeeper will be coming or not have you got any news on the stage the information I give you regarding transfers is that they see the importance that you'll the media give to these. Subjects on the fad in the news that. Would you say that when it comes to a goalkeeper though most of that you would have preferred choice I mean are the goalkeepers that you admire in England that you realistically could bring hero would you look abroad it's not a task that they realize because of nothing that they do because of that special is the only reason you and you usually don't promote you knew what this is until now I haven't I mean I haven't got any news about unity of bringing or not a goalkeeper but of course if I had any news about that that would come and immediately from your point of view do you see this this batch of games is it a key opportunity to take initiative in the division every team has the same formation usually you don't play every 3 days. In that period of 2 weeks it was in the house. But we adapt to what happens and we take one good move to the other and I think it's not convenient to drill and you can leave Greetings before and actually it's is it's about the same is to see if the 14 generates. Some of their interest we also have to see if the succession of games affects or not for most of the players and we have to bring these. Characters with the results we get and then with the decisions. Speaking to Adam pope and that fell a there from the UK trading post interesting story that sir just broke in the last hour or so in the Yorkshire Evening Post saying that some of SES being strongly linked with a general roof away from at Leeds United gets half way or the side that apparently interested in some of the midfielder according to this article wants to leave England get after reportedly linking are looking at a deal or should say which would take it to a league in January the 27 year old according to what they set piece in the or she will post is that he's keen to return to Spain at the 18 months at Elland Road give us your thoughts on that Legion 981 the triple for a start your message with the letters W Y S I E can tweet us at to be Y. a Static sum I ses of course an important part of the lead United side to this season I want triple 3 on the tech start message with the letters W Y S or you can tweet us at certain to be uys DAY Let's get more shall we from Leeds United head coach Marcello B L So what does he make of the 4 match winning run that his side is on compared to that of leaders know which city they want 12 of the last 15 championship fixed it's quite a run of form it means that so that's a win for Leeds United at Sonora city that 3 no victory back in August seems some time ago they had the more chances to score than us and there we won that game the only difference is that we scored goals when we had chances and they didn't score goals when they had their chance when you see the result of U.C.C. Huge difference but when you take a look at that both by. The foreman says you see that there is no big difference between both teams because when you miss a goalie it's just that you're not deficiency it doesn't mean that you play bad and when you score a goal in the goalie you scored view is not because you deserve this doesn't mean that you're playing well and both the situations don't last forever and what we can say is that. Norwich has a creative profile a very important creative profile and they won 22 games in the last minutes you can evaluate this essay gets a positive thing and you can all read this and say twas the help of luck too and we could say the same thing about those because Bailey stopped a penalty that gave us 2 points and we could say also the same thing about us that we were lucky because the opponent team made a mistake and we won. 10 and if we take just the 3 D. Does we have 44 points more but we deserve to have these points. In 2 because thanks to the way we played so you have. 2 positions. We could say we deserved to win these games because we played well and we could say that we were lucky because we won the way the games thanks to 2 details also you talked about Norris winning games recently if you enjoy the narrative diseases of the story using downs for each team I wish we had the Centers for us for 2 we had the suspense just for $23.00 teams or does M. I'm not a spectator as a man as I'm a trainer of the one of the 24 teams but it's a very what we can say these it's a very attractive. Competition it's a very beautiful competition pretty incredible record that set Norris city our own album I mean winning 12 of their last 15 at championship face just Legion out of the courthouse on their heels I and as they must be also saying not throwing away in full each night the way. Back in August seems a long time ago a one triple threat on the text at Leeds United fans give us your thoughts start your message with the letters to be why I asked so we can sweetest at W Y S daily Legion I thought of course taking on a Bolton Wanderers this weekend struck a ton of Robert's back in the match day squad for Saturday's game no sign according to be Elser of a squad rotation or just chance of Outward Bound for it and just have to abide their time interestingly there when the all trading post of the seeming story that set some a sleaze is it being linked to a late General move away from Leeds United gets half a side interested in their bringing back see Spain he's reportedly a little bit unsettled in England according to the poster whose partner's pregnant is unsettled in England is looking at the option of resuming his career back in Spain so it could be leaving at Leeds United in the general transfer window it won't ripple through a study a message with the letters W Y S or you can tweet us at Sir W Y S daily Coming up we're going to hear from a Bradford City Manager David Cobb as well as at midfield at Jacques pain as well just going quarter past 6 that's when it was happening and West Yorkshire. West Yorkshire troubled B.B.C. Radio only it's. It's busy on the M 62 you have made congested on both sides as usual but just passing by later I mean Egypt at 27 westbound side is worse because of a broken Valerie things are improving their M 61 last look in slide shows 73 to 4 no accidents no broken down vehicles just side volume of traffic along that and actually 3 southbound a 6 to 9 that's looking bridge for the Hardings roundabout but traffic heading through eastern biol as well tongue street looking slight through the road works but most valuable for the time of day if you've spotted anything by snow plays it's safer. You say out of all 3 I want to 3 I want to say this more at about 15 minutes share your travel nice Kolo double 301230180 B.B.C. Radio only. City fans how you feeling am about to this season so far disappointing start of course but isn't a light at the end of the tunnel of number of convincing and decent performances you haven't quite got the way in but you've tested legal profession challenges Peterborough United 3 times it's accommodated in that set defeat eventually in the F.A. Cup and made week going out on penalties after the year it finished for 4 after extra time the Bradford City Manager David Hopkins says they'll be looking to turn goals into wins this weekend when they host Warsaw bantams A from the back of the net 9 times in the last 3 games Crucially though they have won any of those games while I went to see the City boss David Hockney earlier today and I asked him how us what was looking after that gruelling F.A. Cup tie on Tuesday over this affair and he also. Says good boys you say 120 minutes a day and that came by in their own good spellers this morning then no 140 I'm sorry to say how you managed to after after Tuesday night saying it may be hard to look after clears yourself with most of the minutes. Bitter with a training session yesterday that are not term station in the wind for a swim so recovery day for memory by and then about Sheehan about her what to more speak to Jack there that the defeat has really not too much of the gloss over it all but taken the positives of a further comeback in an almost Game 3 on trees and yeah I think it was it was deaf or game it's a bit surreal thing to get a half 23 Wonder and. Thought we played really well we create more state chances medical mistakes and. We were we were faine assisted him again I think the one other level they were good was the game again and they're not disappoint me never seen a game oh it's another game it's only 56 minutes listening game but good. Because we see when they're in a home the cup tie against one of the top teams really was very pleasing for me as a manager and S. To the players us it painless was the order but I think if you've asked anybody after me of the ones you have any good say that you did to apparently case then I think it would have been delayed and it wasn't just on she's not 3 times Knight Eve much better yeah of course they're very good sede. Of change a system 3 to a noble play them. To see the struggle to the bit this is the 3 an X. Ray and a fake up but we just need to concentrate of what's called main goals and dreams and or $2.00 and $3.00 games so it's frustrating but this is the chances Ricky I think with with it if I short so credit. Played I think the players were dynamic and I think the sure that through the whole entire game I didn't get through what would you have rather what happened on choose a night since the performance on the goals rather than and then and then a scrappy under par performance but you sort of scraped through one. Thing and what you want you to is a cup game as I said to players before the game as a cup and let's go and trying it through the next round in this is that goes with that score goals I thought we give a few cheap goals again and as. The saying few options will go I'm of my to do and it's a bit hopeful we can stop. Thank you pick up a clean sheets on the way with it and say. That 33 draws is a case of the moment if you score say well at school school 3. Just think you players are going to belief since I've been here but when what you know who are going to play time why isn't something that takes away but they haven't clicked the Passion Play were they now it was could turn a Tyrone saying balls I thought would be to your game if as I said before you post sets of players care for for 40. Stronach game is fantastic fantastic watch pro is unusual but this is. From because they stand to believe that. We can start performances and hope for turn them and it went inside to be able to play that you've got to have that confidence so many of course be good for bosses who change a system slightly and there's a says we need to make sure that we play in a home or brave see the fans get behind us have been fantastic and these are things we need to keep pushing forward here over the figure and this is the belief coming no because we've had massive pressure games playing promise promise an Oxfordian of book 2 through them challenges where they can sit talk to the players we do have was their game so very good mentality it from every opportunity of prophecy manager David Hawkins speaking to me earlier today feeling a lot more positive after recent performances if not the results that say from Jack Payne the online Bradford City midfielder scored 7 goals for the bounce in snagging so against Plymouth last weekend I spoke to him today as well and asked him how he reflects on choose denotes a thrilling Cup defeat to Peterborough topside is the vision we showed a lot for goes against them coming back so obviously we didn't get Freudian which with this point about but yeah we got a lot and there's a lot pass' take on the games that are in the message I'm from the coaching staff on the back of trees and I had a Saturday I definitely had a manager come in said our party was a vow come back. How well we fought so yeah I think yeah like I say just about got us out and taking the positives and cancel out the negatives how would you describe the change in the mood among amongst the squad over the last few games yes the wins haven't been there but the goals have been there the displays of in that all you can so fair and things are turning around for about an hour I thought I saw him out on the 4 results dot com as well because like I said before which is going by our where we are scoring goals so yeah they definitely things are improving and what I feel. Personally it's a far more offensive line and I wouldn't have the goals. How much more you enjoying it. For President a lot more Paul a lot more service and yeah we're reaping awards. For the moment and we've all got a good few goals in the last few games we're all praise obviously in. Performances like you know the high energy performances it gets the crowd going and when the crowd get going you get going sort of a reciprocal relationship. And when that when the crowd of us it helps us massively and when we're good the crowd are good so yeah obviously massive stadium lot of tense is always high when that when the when the fans are with us it means a lot to us I mean that they've had a tough season to watch this this campaign season I only sort of just shy of 4000 from the noise you thought it was far more and I stuck with you from anyone Yeah a 100 percent that are just fantastic over so when you come out you're used to it being so for when it's not taken back but and that made so much noise between a really good enjoy the atmosphere and lights out of stock of us even when we went down and when we come back they was obviously buzzing with us. I was into a plan on. The home game this weekend a couple hunger games in the league coming up for that be a lot for the next couple games in the noise and yes important we put in a good display and get a wins the rich instead break 1st year lease money from the rich instead break free show on B.B.C. Radio Leeds with cracking open our seasonal sing along selection. Every morning the very best of wish to shift choirs sing is brass band Ukulele Orchestra in who knows what else as we look towards Friday the 21st of December and our seasonal sing along at Leeds could a mark you say. We'd love you to join as it's free in the singing starts from 7 in the morning piece the seasonal sing along bullish mean. On the Richard stead breakfast show from B.B.C. Radio only this West has bought her a B.B.C. Radio laid snake out and we're through till at 7 o'clock the Nollywood cook and the scene will be next for us talk about rugby league now because a history could be made to Headingley tomorrow is the England academy team to become only the 3rd side in history to complete a series victory of the Australian Schoolboys in followers last Saturday's 14 points to a victory at leat in one elope in the 2 match series is plenty of West Yorkshire representation in the England side including a draw and as halfback Callum McClelland he returns he would be late last year following his spell in rugby union and brand football's prop only Wilson marjoram state in court we've both after their final training session at Kirkstall earlier today boys look ahead to the Headingley game in a moment but Callum just gives a sense of how the 1st game went for England. Amazing can't really describe it one final So when it felt a bit surreal really cos it's it's I love and on and especially. Down in the wire for the pain from the football. So the bottom down there will be amazing nervy plus 20 minutes or so. To be honest no out of it if you want to start creating buffer we know we are in a bag that last play got me going the drop down wing but now we are. It was a feeling from your point of view after last week. Although lots of what we did have tried in the week before and we also haven't wanted to get the winter there was a real pause but we do know that we don't need an off the job to work out this week . And tomorrow how goods are Australian side whether early go to. Definitely really strong competitors. Really good for all of us to challenge ourselves against them and it's also their problem we're probably underdogs going into the game shot that. Will be you know twice and kind of How surreal was it or has it been to go from Scottish Rugby Union to England with the league in effectively the blink of an eye. To be honest it's 2nd nature or something I've obviously been involved in self few years but you know you see it from going back to Leeds it made it 10 times definitely and obviously we are the odds are great personally so it's made it even easier for me on that but that 1st game you played for Yorkshire going to the schoolboys was you. Looking around just wondering for a moment where you were not rare that are such as some hours after a game like that helped it weird because obviously I was playing us so and what we are going us is we showed what we can do and I don't be surprised little bit and for me personally far I'm decent form and so I thought. Straight back and only how would you how could this England side what sort of a group have you got here our strong group we're all really class class man we all get along great sort of yelps like characters but there are strong group could tell and we'll show you up to our boss or challenge or expecting at Headingley against schoolboys because they've got nothing to lose now but yeah they're going to come out strong will be a bad team they were last weeks are trained for that and we're to expect them to be a better team and they are going to deal with it and you'll spot that you've got about 6 or 717 year olds having you know you 19 now you're 18 you feel like you're 18 You've been a senior player. Here a little bit yeah there's a couple of us in the car looks good too although. There's a lot of there yeah there are quite young teams shows are good teams going to next year as well for all the 17 year olds can play again. It means you to be playing at Headingley on Friday the 1st time you played there as a Leeds player not a massive looking forward to it more obviously if you focus on what's more important US don't want to shop or US isn't what we all want well the same for me I want to be 1st have a team to be there watch over so and so that's. Also the on and there's no US need to worry about really is no it's about making history is that only a 3rd of a sides to whitewash the Australian Schoolboys you can write your name into history we're all image far. Training out far more of it as to where direct from you've got because you really get to do that and make a strike and depart the team but what about away from this going back to the principles after this you made your debut this year could next year 2019 be a breakthrough season for you yeah so I'd like. To get some 1st team games next year and they're. Working out I'm sure that I might push through stop playing Mark about 29 what are the targets for you kind of I was thinking it's whenever I get an opportunity for both funds and transform the best I know for 5 from a position in the squad. About how big a challenge is it's a sort of fight your way ahead of some not some top line elves. I think helps all 20 of us in the pickle of things some of the specialists who are obviously the way plays is really exciting to watch and to learn of it softens been great so far in pre-season and for a Friday viewpoint at any before. Just a new stadium now I'm going to play it over and it's a actually. Exciting we offer you both got family coming down and everything yeah things about fair to Michael. Moore always off 60. Yeah there's a fair few of us. Will be a lot of us down Hal spine so they could actually I think difficult to look at quite a crowd as actually finally ask you both what's going to the secrets of to be in the aisles of his game ball just stick with it and when whenever the. Elite. When he's a bad the last week as long as we focus on the same bits and trying to better myself and everyone battling your opponent then look at the end of US A big boys in that same sort of confrontations that you've been relishing Yeah these are some big plot stuff. Somewhere high out Stachelberg strikes high in a car the contacts. Notion that you got from your good luck voice his fears rank you later on as halfback Alan McClelland and probables prop Ali Wilson speaking to James day today they're partly England academy team who are looking to become the 3rd side in history to complete a series of victory over the Australian Schoolboys they are taken strainer at Headingley tomorrow West sport here on B.B.C. Radio Leeds just got half past 6 let's get the latest on the rights. West Yorkshire trouble B.B.C. Radio only says. For the M 62 the M one either the motorway network looking fairly clay or at least city center not see bad either from what I can see us a little bit busy 3 files of the area Bradford roads we've had reports of broken down vehicle at all since corner causing delays for northbound traffic I'm just looking at what they mean by north banks it's initial reports but looks like it's just crossing that junction. Way from parts of the front puts here should say if you would like to update give me a call please it's safe to do so 30123 I went to this morning after the. B.B.C. Radio. In Cold Blood tonight with lows of minus 2 tomorrows brought book cold with highs of 5 Celsius that's 41 foreign out. B.B.C. Radio. Thank you Laurie very good evening you listen to West Yorkshire sport daily here on B.B.C. Radio Leeds our patients parents and staff at the Children's Heart units at Leeds General Infirmary go to visit from cricket's as yesterday Tim president Ben Cohen just poised and all handed out presents to families all the legend that is the key bird who's an ambassador for the Leeds children's heart surgery for was also there as well we'll hear from them in a moment's 1st so it gets a fun it's fun I'm Or should say about the unit on the phone from a shower militias the chief executive of the Leeds children's hospice surgery fund it's so important like trying to tell you you know obviously it's Christmas but you know it's difficult to have a child on the unit at any time so it's a clearly around Christmas I can tell you our interests him a cow what a lift it gets to families not just the children but the parents the nursing staff you know to fail but then not the being reckon $0.09 and you know people are actually taking the time to come and see them try families play football cricket all those things so it's great you know to be able to have this and recognition and then take the time to come in and meet children and families so again absolutely cannot underestimate it it's wonderful for people who don't know what one of the patients on the unit want to go it's very traumatic and to some degree these babies come in and and that's not long been a price you don't the very young sometimes weeks old so families say usually still reeling from the news that you know that their child doesn't hop problem so they emotion is high and the intensity take a situation cannot be underestimated So yeah a little bit of light relief from the busy. This is most welcome because for many many reasons and it goes without saying a resource like this is absolutely vital and yes the work we do is announced on to the hot unit and it's it's become vital on today and. You know we'd like to think that the N.H.S. Can prop itself up but we all know that you know that they're struggling financially across the country so the work that we do is not just about some whistles but we know we really do support them in many ways with the family support that we gave the equipment that we helped fund the revolutionary kit that moves the service all because that's really important and so absolutely the training even at some point we get involved with so it's really very it's very we need it now than ever I place just to give an idea I mean map how many people around the world how many babies on the children so the 17 days and the sign dreams and 2 big bases dependency unit so very speech time I'm told it's really busy today and I suspect that operations continue in as usual as they would and so they're trying to get as many people babies through before Christmas and children and so they want them obviously home for Christmas I know that someone not going to be home for Christmas . But yes so it's 717 days and not always I mean I think Quest all of us take today so busy all day is a oh wait that's a tough place to work but I'm much more of a rewarding one is one very rewarding very well I've been here 10 years now and we've you know yes we see the value in what we do with the hot unit is a wonderful unit and and it's an interesting discussion say yes it's just the right yeah great and great spirit is very privileged to do what we do. Applies here part of that particular foundation and I want what I want to bring especially this time of year is our Christmas what anybody's game is all the time to be at Dicky's and I . Come on this name let's be honest you know to keep the days you know he says truly option and then A's it's wonderful they are in buses and they could says just 70 no you know and it's just really good with similes and lift the spirits but you know people especially dads as you might imagine. And everybody likes a picture with Dickie Bird you know so so no it's great and then the seas as I say gives them a huge left when they said very difficult time if the band and with the issues that they face and get patients through the unit so no it's wonderful but I'm really grateful we have supports just 2 years now you know it's cancer cricket so we're very grateful for that and it's been a great relationship and I suppose the publicity helps as well to Oh yeah yeah highlights congenital heart disease you know not many people realise that and they disappointed with this condition and so it said and you know it does give us the opportunity to highlight that many people are quite heart disease of adults. But you know these these children are a dollar that and you know the numbers are not shrinking the numbers in fact grow in the company of complex case to come in 3 So we've got long waits. From the lead children's heart surgery front She's the chief executive of the fund speaking to me yesterday morning 3 young players been code just poised and Tim Bresnan were there visiting some of the of the patients staff and their families coming up presence as well also there yesterday was to keep phones ambassadors is a keen supporter both of his time and with his money it really is a lot to me resource. I want to do as are most of it possibly trying for the sick little there is you know I'm going to go out to be all the noise or vast amount of money but it doesn't worry me as long it's going to a tremendous goal and I'm doing a similar thing and we all die. Me with with the General Hospital where I gave them 70000 pounds to me because. I want to do it. For this sick little baby I mean you can sign checks County but being here physically being here and saying. Well. You know we've been ambassador. For the charity I've been down being around the wards and when I go in the wards you know to me it's that old I get tears in my eyes want to see these poor sick little babies in the Colts in the war since it really touches me because. You know to see the kids I mean. It was only 14 days old 12 to 14 days old when I went around the war and it just. And it was for me it's make right down to it growing old with a little boy. If you're still in I'm looking forward to seeing him again you know I'm just seeing the patterns. That he. Especially at Christmas time that especially at Christmas time when the sea is a little babies in the hospital you don't get the chance to troll you know a little. Bit. Get through a bit operations them look at those see the benefit from it from A to the. Vital because the the work is incredible isn't. It then you know I don't think the pain and the sort of the nurses do a tremendous job and also then the specialists and the surgeons remove most not forget them they do it it's a tremendous job and it's a go team all around the team with the. You. Out of this world and hope is a space one of the babies say yes to good will be carried about for your job perhaps on the future or you never know but that you grow quickly they you know the lives they will probably play for your share going to play for England double very dicey my will be very nice a day DICKIE BIRD he's one of the ambassadors for the Leeds children's heart surgery fund he was speaking to me at said the lease General Infirmary yesterday you had to keep one of one of the number of U.S. Representatives amongst them of the places weapon code just poised an arm that Tim Bresnan as well a. Breast and now it's the 3rd Well he's been there a number of times actually to visit to the children at the heart units at the L.G. I asked him off to us to find out why he's always a 1st to put his hand up some make these visits rewarding as always so just across hot reconciliate kits of which are just penicillin trailer smile surgery some of it will never buy or a few days it's a trick but yeah I mean it's quite all that he said so to walk in give me a gift on how to stop a very young of the parents and make sure they're OK and just change of scenery I think for them obviously it's quite trite Barb and possible as well for a few steering visit and things like that. But yeah I mean just sit come in and say I'm not aware that they do and the children saw such if it was obvious to look after the parents as well as the kids why is it so important he to be back here again and another player this god could have could have commanded us again going to come back yeah due to unstick on and off this once before. I think I mean kids myself and been around here and stuff like a lot because I know it's like and it's it's quite heartbreaking but. You know you seem to get a sense of something else a you know when you're walking around and even if just a sudden fear just a few parents and stuff like that oh you're having a chat with grandma around. And a few gifts for kids is spot on us from parents as well obviously as you say it's born in 40000000 all spell and you know they think trauma things that they're going through as well you know because if you people back into the man's eyes he was a yeah even if it just takes time. You know a baby son or daughter of just 10 to 15 minutes I think that's quite nice as well as me to family I sort of said oh it made me realize you know how fortunate position I'm in exactly I mean you know I've got 3 kids myself and. A muscle a fortune of the switchboard you know almost gone wrong with a hospital for 3 or 4 days my 2nd child was Bronco artists and that was scary and also you know I can empathize with the parents when they're looking at you know brand new baby boy all go you know spouts off surgery so. I just can't comprehend the. Quick on that that the new season not too far away has pre-season training going to go to a lodge in good shape and you know looking for a chance to get you to sign a new deal some new deal in the summer should sign Kelly has left what he what do you what are you hoping say to achieve over these he is. Hopefully Marshall some of the troops and bring those younger lads all in. Don't manage expectations I think from what we are from. What we are now but we must have like Psion and also play the talented young group play as hopefully if we do mice expectation and don't put too much pressure on ourselves or maybe there's something special because responsibility on he was one of the more experienced campaign is all yeah I think myself and. You know Steve and Gary and why they have to scull because system in a lot of the younger lads you know. With all their. You know talent and and and fire and you know put in some special fall this is probably one of the games but I think it was all that adds to to stay consistent and capers there in their box and he took my money expectations the thing with with this of young talent in the in the school. Exciting though isn't there science you know I think probably if you thought that was where we said I think at the moment we probably were looking out white ball stuff thinking that they're an aside if we fly our attention would probably be a song you know that there might be a direct direction that we're going to share that much of a bunch of stuff metal to the side that Tim Bresnan speaking to me yesterday the children's hearts unit at the L.G. I will hear more from Yorkshire players Ben code and Josh poised and as aware will also find out it's about a potential stocking filler they sacrifice most as well approaching 646 let's get the latest on West Yorks roads. Share your travel nice Colo double 30123018 C. B.B.C. Radio only. Western Daily here on B.B.C. Radio Lees we're going to hear from Yorkshire bowler Ben Cohen a little bit later on 1st though if you're looking for a potential stocking for Lewis Christmas than I want to think about the women's football yearbook 20182019 2nd edition is the only women's football yearbook around the top 4 divisions in the women's game in England including clubs here in West Yorkshire lightly and guys leave a Chris leg aids one of its authors and I caught up with him earlier today. But I think anyone who's interested to be ignorant of the fact that when this football is growing in popularity the profile is is getting bigger by the week really you know the B.B.C. Asian Games on the red button and BT Sports are a game every week the the England international show and regularly there's this commentary on for a lot of sports extra you go to a lot of the clubs doing really good things on social media to to engage the fans and cross promotion between the men's and the and the women's team and a you know the attendance is a growing very very slowly. You know people going along to watch much as I think that's the next thing that really needs to they need to try and make an impact on that they're certainly more interested in following the matches on T.V. Radio and in the newspapers you know you've got the the Telegraph and The Times and The Guardian they're all regularly mention the women's domestic going and there are so names now of course on the likes of staff all turn from Kirby that's lean and that those plays are household names that people know who they are and the same as role models as well exactly and I just find that fascinating because you know speaking to those players you know Frank Herbie when she was growing up she says she didn't have like a female role model and you think this is the 1st season where we have a fully professional top tier for the very 1st time so I you know young boys and girls will form role models in these female players and young girls will fit well actually there is a career pathway there you know that younger generation those players who are at the top now like like Frank are we actually start out and carried on playing and think not actually really knowing well whether there would ever actually be a chance to to have a career is such a Now that does exist and that's obviously there's been a lot of mixed reaction to the many many changes at the F I have made this year but one very positive thing is there is a for the 1st time a large number of women's players are actually able to sustain a career. Easy or how difficult as it has this been to put to put together because it's not just the D.B.'s out that you cover it's the top 4 divisions and presumably the lower down that you go perhaps more difficult is. To put to put it together for each club Yeah and that's one of the reasons I wanted to bring this bit together to have all the key facts and figures in one place because you know it is hard to find information about the women's game than it is a men's game you know there are there are very good websites out there but not everything seems to have everything going a lot of the time there is conflicting information so I myself and some went to every single club to verify information the vast majority did get back to us you know lower down the tables there are there are clubs where there's a high turnover of staff and volunteers so not everyone perhaps our messages didn't find that kind of the right people who are still at those clubs but I would say 80 percent 90 percent of the clubs all got back to us to to verify that information I was we had to go with what we fought would be the most accurate whether that be from a Twitter feed or from the yes i Web site which again are you know the F.B.I. Website is a brilliant resource but there are times on there where you wouldn't know whether a guy was a penalty he wouldn't know whether a goal was an own goal not all of that information seems to feel so free if you have the time what which I don't have a lot of actually brother said to contact over cards and just like can you tell us exactly what happened here because you know you won for free but I can only find mention of 3 goalscorers And actually you know all those clubs lower down the vast majority are just really appreciative I think of the fact that you know people want to know about their games and their schools and who got their goals I mean after say a lot of local newspapers are doing really good stuff now by our. Local B.B.C. Radio stations are really understanding the growing appetite out there for people to be able to follow their their women's team so there is definitely the resources are growing I'm sure it will improve but at the moment it's a lot harder to find this information and that's why I wanted to bring it all together in one place and also the big men's clubs are realizing the value of having a women's team as I mentioned you know had of course started this season yeah that's been hugely controversial obviously they haven't had a women's team since he fails and 5 there's been a lot of growing media pressure for them so to have a win is saying they said OK we're going. And they they were catapulted straight into the 2nd tier and you had clubs like Doncaster Belles he won the 2nd tier last year boy 10 points not only not being able to be promoted but in the end not even be I'm sort of for a place in theatre in effectively being relegated when you've got man you catapulted in there now I as a football fan I find that kind of distasteful I don't like to see that that happen I would rather things naturally happen and teams win promotional merit on what they do on the pitch but I can also see this wider society will need the F.A. Obviously realise there is to have clubs that can sustain female players and an offer that you know actually paid players to be professional which meant just in your to clearly care and because they are such a huge men's club and the global brand again the brand isn't a word all are using as a football fan but I've seen the power of that I went to Man United plane down near where I live at the Crystal Palace Crystal Palace ladies and that was the biggest crowd they've ever had and they said if they could get that crowd which was about files and people every week that would make a huge difference to the Crystal Palace later so you can see why there is the F.A. Wanting to get the big men's clubs having their ladies clubs in the top divisions but there's casualties of that like Doncaster Belles and that is sad to say but I don't know what the perfect fix would be the perfect yet finance just seems to me that the stumbling block I suppose you know and any level of football whether it's men's or women's isn't a surprise Yeah and you know again as a football fan when I saw all the Premier League clubs Premier League men's club to another 250000 pounds to Richard Scudamore a few weeks back that as a football fan and lot speaking journalistically were be very balanced but as a vocal fire that made me very angry because to think what that would do well just the fans of it you know a 10 men's men's matches and the ticket prices are always going up and the changes for television are all over the place and people can't travel to guys but what that money would do to female teams you know if those clubs are given to under. 50000 barrels a day to their women's teams that will make a huge difference and that really did make me angry I mean again during this book I've really learned that outside of the top division the clubs are really still hung to hell together boy the great work of volunteers that's why me and some of decided that 50 percent of any royalties that we make if we make anything from the sales of this but we're going to dilate that see to sponsoring nonprofessional players going forward as you see so I mean broadly Hannon he plays for Leeds she is a captain she broke her leg recently in an F.A. Cup by referring F.A. Cup game when they beat Doncaster for free she was due to have an operation yesterday I think she also on a Twitter feed she was unable to have it because of it's still 2 to swallow but you know when you're when you're playing at that level when you you can you juggling a career and try to apply and you know an injury like that can take you out of the for the whole season it's just players still having to pay their own way really outside of the top flight and all of the clubs are continually doing their best to find new sponsorship deals and go into the community and I think that is beginning to change at local communities are realizing hey you know there's a there's a team out there doing great things with great human interest stories that the local community want to hear about and that is adding to the profile outside of just the top division. Chris leg he's one of the co-authors of the women's football yearbook 2018 at 29 he gets in a look at bookshops and almost line as well as any one of its kind at the moment let's return to cricket show because a huge ball of encodes says he's looking to maintain his good form in the new season starts next Jan the placement took 48 with his last season added to the 53 the season before we'll hear more on his thoughts cricket wise surely 1st so I would think all of the visit to the Children's Heart units at Leeds General Infirmary yesterday really I overheard. Quite touching really hammering possible things into perspective going around there and saying what's how can we say that helping is how well off I am going to how unfortunate some of these children are spend this position but I say it's nice to be able to come around and some got some presents and sharp a smile on the faces here you should be able to think for a couple of years and already it's important the big the big clubs the big names in Iran Please get involved with these sorts of things exactly it's a good to give them some sort of recognition I said it's a life by itself and there are many of you here to take pictures and probably have awareness day straight from the reality I and children's hospitals. By the Racing Form So just how how like we are here as well trying to try to help out the kids and you mentioned some have makes you realize how fortunate you are this sport and into a bit of perspective is one massive way I mean we were just talking. It's tough it's tough training session to learn session and things are going to ask a few days but you come here and you just think it's it's just it's nothing compared to what ways and ways are going through here and you know cricket it's. When you're playing you think it's just they all and all it's just you have to give everything. In life is a lot back to getting back to where there are things they carry on there just prove them eventually when you're in prison training and how's it going. No Kristie as of here comes after Christmas just a lot of toughest fitness work so so far so good a few personally obviously even joins the great spells we need any time of year so far what do you have before going forward personally I'm just trying to go and say this over the previous 2 years there's a lot of people say pressure for me in the last year to prove I could do it again and I believe I did that so as to try not to even teach English or forward and. Tell and just same thoughts and often very high on the list how did that pressure to to sit with you on that because you're That's a remarkable 1st season for me but I didn't really feel anything I believed in myself from the fall off that year as well that I was ready to carry it was just a very tough side to get into the bowls we used to have especially when it was Chris city Brazilian 000 All-Star is a very tough side to enter and I knew. Down the line much else a coma large got to be patient and yes so when it came up later I could do it and then last year that they were saying there's a lot of pressure but I realize that you have about been watching out for me but they're going to start trying to do something different against me which they don't actually want to do so that's basically helping me out so I was just making sure that water it's a nice try to. Improve some little skills in the winter but it all came Gordon it was a fair like a huddle of a good year big boost last week because well Joe Root's signing you know extended says with you I know you say he's more involving the police with your shoot at times but how important to see him sign that contract is going to know that he wants to still be off play for many years to come is 4 years. Yes it's great to have a girl gave him like you say he's always with England and we very rarely see him but for those 4 or 5 dangerous game Bastion just just to be around the lads at certain points. Leaders at a meeting in Brussels for help in getting her back seat deal through parliament the so-called backstop which would prevent checks at the Irish border if there's no trade deal is a key sticking point for critics of Mrs May's BRACKS It deal the prime minister has spoken of getting legal assurances from E.U. Leaders but our reality check correspondent Chris Morris says that's unlikely a legal requirement at the moment I don't think she'd better get that but the E.U. Is also indicated that it's prepared to continue a discussion in January to try and find a form of words within its own legal constraints if you like that can help her if possible to get this through the House of Commons more police are to be put in place at a managed sex so in West Yorkshire some people in the whole back area of Leeds say they've been plagued by anti-social behavior but Leeds City Council says it's committed to the scheme which it says protects sex workers from abuse poll money is from safer leads and says the authorities are listening to residents the enhanced arrangements around the policing seem to social behavior and the clones.
