We call them. The 1st. Carrier. It's a real honor to me thank you for talking to a group. Bromley came here on the wind rush tonight the West Yorkshire Playhouse Phoenix dance their production will premiere a great story. All right. Well thankfully no accidents or incidents traffic is starting to build. Around Al and we do have a while traveling in. Away from the Island Road roundabout at the m 6. Keeping well in the center of the closure of Kent Road is closed because of a building fire that broke out last night between new and valley road do you have assessments continue and damage that fire last night but it is likely to remain closed the right. Traffic starting to. Slow towards the how far across roads. And says. No problems to report on public transport this morning but if you problem. To 50 minutes. That. You've got that you've got there's a good. Special. Teams have been tackling a major fire as an industrial site in Leeds with 200. Weighted Tesco is facing Britain's largest ever equal pay claim which could leave it with a bill of up to 4000000000 pounds and there's been a shot full in the number of people applying to train as teachers down almost a 3rd on the previous year thank you very much indeed 18 minutes past 7 and Sara's got you news every quarter of an hour by a case coldly like your good morning good morning deal with all of that before I talk to you about being a grown up it was minus 2 for me in the morning and we've had reports of minus 4 minus 3 that happened out grossing is it going to warm up any not much later. Today and minus for the airport minus for being Limas 3 in Bradford really basically colorful see starts but at least it's going to be beautiful day one of those lovely crisp days with lots of sunshine and the late in the afternoon will start See bit of cloud spilling in from the west but it's not going to spoil sunshine and after such a cold start the temperature is obviously going to struggle up to about 3 degree while I would have another bitterly cold night been not as cold as the night just gone because the cloud is a big sigh of relief because it is going to continue to slowly build as we go through the night say by the end of the night I think the cloud will be enough to hold the temperatures it's around about minus one say it's still a frost but not as cold as the night is gone and I'm just saying if you're not interested surface walking for the walking out there just walking the dog be careful if they're not critical it's been bitterly can I have double Mint zone have a good idea so as we move towards the weekend what we're looking at well tomorrow is not going to be as cold say 6 or 7 degrees but also we're not going to see as much sunshine so the be a lot of cloud around more some outbreaks of rain at times and then that rain will intensify I think towards the end of the day that will clear 3 set for Friday brightens back up again but another chilly day in the about 40 degrees and then over the weekend it looks they Some days the best to date the tape but it will be the culture if it's Ok well it's February what can expect more right when did. You realize you were an adult because the whole list of definitions and I could take most of the book I'm still in denial but did you realize when last Christmas I asked Santa for a window. Well I did and I love eighty's brilliant because in our kitchen we've got 5 metres if there's you know they lovely folding sliding door and we've got 2 children now I am not going to say to the do not touch the glass but I'm also not an hour's polishing window. Oh it's amazing is it let's have another round of course actually meet I've got one of those cordless little handheld Foxwell there and I would just tell you about them because she got on as well you know I've used to since Christmas like I wouldn't believe. His dad carpet bag there are just let me so we're very grown up our way very grey that you need a window here yeah now I'm going to be tortured but. Thank you Lisa rather whether I'm being a grown up that's in the mirror of the story this morning they've got 50 ways you know you're an adult was there a point where they hit you 034530333 apparently in the before too you know you're an adult when you don't always buy the cheapest wine in the shop you know you're an adult when you can change a tire but I'm never doing that. You're an adult when you've got a calendar. Is a bike you may laugh. If you prefer a night out to a night in you definitely grows up and if you go to the chair. And here's why this is so true this is at number 20 all was clearing things away at the end of the evening rather than stacking dishes in the sink. I agree that the older you get the less stupid to you because when you are called as apparently I just can't leave I know I'm going to have to deal with it. Cos there are about a few days that role reversal thing as well with the family when. You realize that you're actually the adult and your parent maybe it's not. Because they're asking you for a. Scary travel he said I realized I was an adult when I became a parent. David text a triple 3 Start your message with the word he says when I started buying Digg he toys as an investment rather than to play with the. What was All day every day. 723 good morning if you just joined problems on the busy spots as usual also. Wrote in the fire of the night so that road is going to remain closed as bit dramatic overnight as well there were problems going over some on just a bit they seem to have eased a bit on the m 62 and it's bitterly cold just saying if you get out the door you keep us with you and we'll update you and just walk carefully treated surfaces thanks to getting in touch as well I really have a drone you know these little motorized things you fly around and film stuff. I just thought if you have maybe you've seen them or been to a beauty spot and there are drones flying around taking aerial shells Well Bradford Good morning you may well see them in the district a bit more often in the near future because the city is going to be one of 5 drones sting cities which will work with the government to look at how they could be used practically in the future a profit report or political reporter Richard Beecham has this. Now if you like me and you terrified of being stoned this probably isn't the sound that you want to wake up to. But don't fear for it's not 100 strong swarm of angry wasps 1000000 radio controlled drone flown by Brother drone u.c.s.d. And hoots of who kindly invited us to a spot of white aviation in his back garden so it's absolutely tiny these journeys it is about the size of a shoe isn't it. Yeah I mean really it's kind of like the size of probably 3 or 4 i Phones to start on top of each other so what's going on though and so we've we've found it so it can induce that we get all that back about the fact that. It's coming closer it's good office it's moved up so Ian's puppets seem abrupt that the want the seats to be at the forefront of new drone technology Ruppert's been announced today as would have been a bit Ucas flying high drone areas we'll see schemes looking at how drones could be used in practical settings piloted so to speak in the center down oh you see all along how what is here has been brought through can expect the place they can use it after an incident take you know sitting scene a crime photos. Medical for example that on a drug where it can fly with a defibrillator there isn't anything to be afraid of it's technology it's a tool we choose how we use it if we will use it positively we cannot do so you know there's nothing stopping us coming up with even more use cases that actually I've got a problem here and that. And that will happen over time now it's all being done in conjunction with Reppert Council who set up planning Alex Shaw believes the scheme could bring high tech jobs to the city in future where both for testing and development that means business is involved in that supply chain to draw new soon and manufacture except sure Bradford is a person you can invest in so there's a potential for investment and job creation in the future that's coming into London you know to further traffic control. Bradford can look forward to having a few more flying robots overhead in the years to come. Or though we're London just about. Yet I didn't realise they made that noise because I've only ever 1st seen a drone it's always been from like a distance not close up but they do sail angry whilst Martin tweeted as he says I can see how useful drones can be to fire loss walkers are mountains of carrying small items to people who need things that Martin says there are so many options for abuse as a way of their anything and it will be interesting to see how they create a testing city in Bradford one of the famous online retailer using drones to deliver stuff. Sure you have your front door and a drone drops the parcel on the doorstep I was have bit where. Just it. But when you get the aerial shots I mean it can be amazing especially you know I'd really like to see an aerial shot over where I live just how that whole area that would be great you know they used to fly over it in there take aerial photographs and come door to door and flow can be nice to see for a drug to do 034-5303 double 3 double 3 Have you got one. A drone and what do you use it for and is it just a boy's toil what text me a one triple 3 type the word leads in and then your message but profit will be trailing now and this morning we're sharing the moment you felt like a grown up 50 things in the Daily Mirror today that prove that you're an adult things that you may well nod wisely and say I agree with that number one on this list is paying utility bills and either a pleasant task ever having a mortgage or buying a house the problem is we're not getting there is a really as we used to because people can't get on the property ladder or get a job have a rig that will stop. Only a vacuum cleaner you see we've all been get excited about cordless fax this morning apparently you are an adult if you can change a light bulb. I can do that under complete a radiator Fiona on Twitter Good morning she says I knew I was an adult when I could eat a whole single serving of the younger she is I think I was about 10. 1st market by the food you well. You know what such as an ice and a truck because we talk about the economy. Interest rates and have you ever done that you know you're an adult when you spend the weekend just puttering rather than having big plans when you know you growed up. Trouble. You just potter at weekends yeah I think I was just thinking about that let me think you know you're an adult something that I notice recently when plans get cancelled it means you can stay. Exactly. Well take a look at the rise the eastbound I'm $62.00 starting to build around Allen now usual but this time also had the only 60 want to City Center still. Away from the Allen Road roundabouts up towards the. Center of late spot the closure of Kent roads but the recovery following a building fire last night between a new and valley road still busy to have a home. Slope towards the how far across roads and also busy as well through how to scale. The gas main want to continue those words continue at the junction with. No issues on public transport the problem call us 183-0123 I want to I'll have more in 15 minutes I blame the box yet. B.b.c. Radio. Good morning I'm Sarah Whitefield emergency teams have been tackling a major fire at an industrial site in Leeds police evacuated 20 homes near the building him last night nobody's been injured Tesco is facing. Person's largest ever equal pay claim which could leave it with a bill of what to $4000000000.00 pounds thousands of women who work in the stalls when the same pay as men who work in the company's warehouses there's been a sharp fall in the number of people applying to train as teachers they were just over 1500 applicants from Yorkshire by mid January down a 3rd on the previous year braf is going to be one of 5 test us cities for drone technology in the u.k. The charity next day will work with the government and the City Council to look at practical uses for them over the next few years and the most powerful Rockies in the world is blasted off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida the Falcon Heavy has been launched by an American and entrepreneur. I look at the weather a frosty start saying cold and sunny today maximum temperature 3 degree Celsius 37 degrees Fahrenheit. Still Exist b.b.c. Radio me is running slowly Thank you Sarah good morning how this field town will host Manchester United in the f.a. Cup 5th round next Saturday after sweeping championship Birmingham City aside for one in their 4th round replay last night's town came from behind before scoring 3 goals in extra time to secure their passage into the next round it means a replay with Jos a Marine IAU one which head coach David Wagner is relishing absolutely delighted to have Osman United at home in the 5th round. Is a great opportunity for everybody to see men united again and to see us as well again. A great game for all of us I'm very happy for the whole football club the whole town that we are in we're in the front row but man united one sour note from the evening town will have to check on the fitness of Captain Tommy Smith ahead of the clash with Bournemouth on Sunday Smith was substituted during the victory at Birmingham last night with a suspected concussion elsewhere in last night's f.a. Cup replace Swansea City demolished lead to Notts County 81 to reach the 5th round one Rochdale overcame Millwall one nil the former private City boss Peter. Axin believes there is a strong possibility the club will appoint their 1st ever non British and Irish manager Stuart McCall was sacked on Monday after a run of 6 consecutive to face city are being linked with a replacement from abroad the Jews are being owned by 2 Germans and Jackson says this could prove to be a good move they were downloaded failed with David Wagner when when Dane. Interviewed him employees a member said we're going to host all thing David Wagner but there might go down that route obviously the German owners another modeling in Germany the might go down that road even him or chats on the vacant managerial position at Bradford City on our latest Bradford City special tonight at home West Yorkshire sport telly for 6 o'clock in a castle for targets coach Darryl Powell says he's considering replacing Ben Roberts at fullback for Sunday's 1st home game in the new season ends with this he follows their 466 thrashing in last Friday's opener and Helens that's one of the positions or so for review obviously you know about how to. Have no idea that well all. You know when we struggled with our attacking play because of some of the positional errors there but. Yeah it's one of the positions of for of us well you know me as coach and stuff and make a collective decision on on what we do over the leads run as coach Brian McDermott says he's sure the former captain Danny McGuire will receive a great reception in Thursday's clash with al Qaeda and road he'll be a 2nd game for the robins after making over 450 appearances for Leeds and leading them to victory in last season's Super League Grand Final when a player leaves a club was always it was always a question mark over what reception or gettable you know I really left with our best wishes and you know he left in the right form in the right tone in our club should be indebted to Donna because of the many years to come so I'm sure our fans are all very real cautious but I'm just finally England take on Australia in a t 20 international cricket match and how about this morning Alex Hales and Jason were both hits returned for England and could replace Yorkshire's David Willey at the top of the order play gets underway this morning at 29. Thank you your right road you're very good thank you Goodwin positive talent yeah great we're really good to see him through just about It took a bit of extra time though so it was a late finish for Paul Ogden and the boys here I left when I was down there is absolutely. Sports is that means man you are coming back here they are yes so Saturday week so they'll be as a 530 kickoff that when it's going on the television as well being good time for town or just have big news nicely which about when you know you're grown up yeah and you know I was thinking you know the 1st time you go on a holiday without your peril right here I mean I know we're probably a lot younger along the way but you do feel you feel grown up I do wonder if that very 1st one though is not maybe your most grown up holidays or the 1st time you're allowed to go on holiday without your mom and dad isn't necessarily the time when you say Go and see the sights or go on the tour of the sort of jesting that there are other preoccupations I really like the earlier from the chap who said you know you're grown up when you wear a coat on and I. Think they're going to put my coat so it's important I keep it up top we're going to add eighty's 2 of the older more important because that I do now have the daylight where if I wear so I went to a really big part of your cake which was in a t. Caveman 3 of them it wasn't good so I left my current I knew it was going to be cold getting in and I left my coat in the car and I had to work all that out where the Coanda get cut and then I would have to wear inside because there might be anywhere to put it so I think these die lemmas you have r m r here things you don't think of when you're a bit younger I know they're important that interruption that it won't be cold on the way in so what's that about thank you road. Is great. B.b.c. Radio only. Plays 736 Good morning from the breakfast team here b.b.c. Radio leisure in the right place to keep you updated with the travel It's a bitterly cold morning Lisa will be here we're talking detail about the weather in the run up to the week. And a bit later on breakfast you may well have already heard our story a remarkable story from a man cold our forward who lives in Bramley and came to this country from Jamaica on the s.s. Empire Windrush he's now 92 just in the May play you more of our chat after 8 o'clock this morning now the reason I went to up to Bromley to meet him is because tonight is the premiere of Phoenix dances Windrush movement of the people this is a production about the s.s. Empire Windrush the ship which brought one of the 1st large groups of postwar West Indian immigrants to the United Kingdom board 492 passengers and one stole away on a voyage from Jamaica to London back in 1948 Alford was on the Windrush from Bromley that is a story if you just stay with us after a to hear that I also popped over to Phoenix stance earlier to find out more about the production which is on it has its premiere tonight at the West Yorkshire Playhouse and I am sure what some and the artistic director Phoenix I'd like to congratulate you on what I think is going to be certainly it's a world premiere but a really exciting piece of dance based on nearly 500 people getting on the s.s. Empire Windrush 70 odd years ago and arriving in this country and initiating a major change how much of a personal journey is this production for you it's become a personal journey because although my mother wasn't on the wind rush and my father they were here in the early fifty's and they picked up from what the what actually happened prior to sell a lot of this story actually have kind of drawn up my mom and so it is very very personal she has a lot of stories that she's shared with us a lot of the grief that she's also shared with us and just our experiences here in the u.k. . We're in the studio where this production has been rehearsed it's a large space there at the dance mirrors down the side of the wall actually the sun is shining through here so from beginning this creative process from beginning to put together this production how long is this taking we had in our indie for about 2 and a half weeks last summer last year and then we took the opportunity to share the hour in the process with the audience to get feedback and that happened last October September October time and then I was in the studio for a good intensive 3 weeks and it continued again here in the new year with the end of the 2 weeks of intense rehearsal so it's it's been although it's been quite sporadic it's been quite a lengthy process for me usually 2 weeks and then it's done the stories in downs and music. What will I see with the Windrush I hope you'll see the story of the the the breast and the qualities and the excitement of the Caribbean the arrival into the u.k. Where we have a complete transition of space and time and place. Moving into the backstreets of Leeds which is where I've set one of the scenes and then into what I consider my youth the early eighty's and the kind of the flavors of what I experienced as a child as a young teenager I guess and so you look at the vibrancy and I think for 70 years in an hour's production is kind of quite a story to tell so I hope the narrative works those that perhaps don't know the story think it's challenging and apart from telling that story those unique events and in my mind I always remember the grainy images of those 1st immigrants coming off the Windrush down the plank to a life that they didn't know and in a way Britain wasn't ready for. And I am hoping I will be moved and educated will I be both of those things I certainly hope so I think if you can resonate with displacement with difference with the diversity that we now have in our world not just in the u.k. But if you understand any of those those matters then you'll appreciate what we've gone through to get to this story and nervous are you this is the work from here we are in the work space the rehearsal space and all this work and it's been in your mind and you've created New York credibly good at creating all of this but are you nervous of course I am because for every one that's connected to the wind rush there's a story that's personal to them and I think what I have to remember and realize is that this is my story this is how I've chosen to tell it with amazing performers and the team have just been phenomenal I think that's one of the things that's making it magical I hope it makes a difference I do and I think it's a story that has been told a documentary. A little bit of drama but not through dance and not through music and not through that cultural perspective so it must be a very exciting part of your career I think it's one of my pivotal moments if I'm being honest with myself and I do hope that the world sees it because it's a story that just doesn't resonate with the Caribbean's with those of the bed community but it really is a story of and I think without them we have to question what would have happened to and which has what would happen to our public services so they've really come in contributed massively to the world that we know today well that Sharon Watson the artistic director of Phoenix Downs went over to their studios to have a chat with her the premiere premier of Windrush movement of the people is tonight at the West Yorkshire Playhouse and part of that in an advisory capacity. Gardner who lives in Bromley who came to Britain for the 2nd time actually became over on the wind rush and he's just got such a character such a story to tell him more of that after the news a right here on b.b.c. In the Express in the Times there's a leaked Whitehall report. Suggesting the u.k. Could be forced to accept dozens of new e.u. Regulations in the 2 years after breakfast. And there are also claims that the e.u. Is demanding the right to place sanctions on the u.k. Access to the single market this is the breaks that transition. If a disagreement occurs so in other words if they're not happy. They can do what they want. In the Guardian this morning Tesco facing Britain's largest ever equal pay claim it could leave it with a bill of up to 4000000000 pounds this is about thousands of women who work in Tesco stores who are demanding the same pay as men they work in the company's warehouses. In the how a farce Korea this morning the old Ritz ballroom a brick house to remember it closed last June Well it's about to reopen as a venue 73 maybe the Northern Soul of come back home that sprung dance floor anyway closed apparently because the owners of the Ritz Hotel in London wrote a letter to them telling them to stop using the name or face legal action Well it's not Nick and called venue 73 out of the telegraph in August Congratulations to. Bradford they won the Best New York show on the humble last night. They scooped a prestigious industry award and he was the one who could fix my car dot com. They don't go in there and say kid if you expect car and they go. Surely they won't be doing that because that we know is that would never. I do the Star this morning if you were a fan of all. All Creatures Great And Small the actor Peter Davidson says the cast often got rather drunk concept because they were served a real beer in the pub seats Now Peter if you remember played the vet Tristen fallen this was in the seventy's series and he says he's costar Christopher Timothy who played James had it while Scott's surgery the filmmaker have to stop. Day and riches said looking after you for 9 this morning on b.b.c. Radio it's the galloping phone and today Graham Porter taking a cold and he questions from half past 10 very popular b.b.c. Radio late so I hope you'll stay with us 10 minutes now to 8 on this Wednesday morning I doubt it when you've been in London if you've seen the Bali spikes banks of units with bikes you hired to do whatever you need to do and then he returned the pushbike to another unit somewhere else and they've been held a success in the capital we could be seeing something similar here in Leeds quite soon the council are expected to. Approve a fleet of bicycles for a sharing schemes similar to the one that sin London but the machines will not have special docking stations such technically you can leave them anywhere now is Sheffield they've already got the jetty Els went on a test run. In my own and Standing Els on a great slug so they've got those bikes but no docking stations in Sheffield and it looks like we're going to get something similar in Leeds is a great idea bunny worry is if you don't have to return it to a specific place wives to it you're going to abandon it. Somewhere or not well find out more when their are on their way to ours but that's how it's working in Sheffield right now Ok 754 Good morning from the breakfast table hope you're well and get where you need to go on this midweek morning now of the big stories today the high court will hear the start of a legal challenge today against the release of the serial sex attacker John at war voice he's now it's Wakefield they've moved him back up to West Yorkshire last month the parole board was criticized when it announced Worboys would be freed after less than 9 years in prison where the application for judicial review has been brought by the mayor of London study can and 2 of Worboys victims this is one of the women bringing the case who is asked to remain anonymous there has to be a mistake somewhere they cannot possibly say. Somebody that is in maximum security jail wasn't eligible for open prison. Is now safe to go back into the community it just doesn't make sense to anybody one of Worboys victims he was convicted of 19 offenses but police believe he may have carried out more than 100 rapes and sexual assaults he was jailed for a minimum turn of 8 years back in 2009 well the B.B.C.'s home affairs correspondent Danny sure outlined the grounds for today's challenge today say the parole board decision is irrational arguing that John Worboys has a long history of cold calculated attacks on women he apparently failed to acknowledge his guilt until recently and on the other ground is the fact that the ban on publication of the parole board's reasons is unlawful and against a fundamental principle of open justice Well another issue for victims is whether Worboys has been on a sex offender treatment program and whether that's been taken into account by the parole board following and that's allowed. Release comma Mally is a Q c a Park Square barristers She specializes in sexual offenses cases she says a recent study found programs do not necessarily curb offending they may even increase one of the arguments they will be able to build upon is if if the the response of Worboys the course was one of the fundamental reasons why the probe would say to really really what is the status standing of having completed their course when the problems with it were no at the time the probe board reached their decision well today's application for a judicial review is not being opposed by the parole board or the Ministry of Justice at this stage a full hearing is likely to take place before Easter and we learned early this week that will boys is back in Wakefield maximum security prison came back alley this week 756 you've been making me smile all morning I'd like to know the moment you realized you were an adult Mike good morning in Howarth not in a very doing arm or I Why did you realize you had to be grown up role.
