Radio Lancashire travel. Hello there as you saw in James like she slid around the county roads generally Ok this morning to be honest most wise doing well the West End depressed a little bit busy coming out to layer on rebel coming in to a sample from a little bit heavy commune towards a load straight on a 565 but everything else seems to be Ok on the roads trains just remind a lot of engine work the next couple of days north and on running trains his replacement bus today between Preston and return of the rest of the weekend there's also buses rather than try and this is Preston to comb up and to top clear the road to Bolton and block to the vault and the next 4 or 5 days there's all sorts I suppose is on the south pole line a Southport pub all at Southport to Wigan Walgett and I think further any of the delights just let me know it is safe and legal 033000123 I want a one on b.b.c. For country music. From right here this heart and soul that we all absolutely Jilly just the story of one of the world's most popular music genres plays I'm taken just because you can that is so heart wrenching told by the stars who shaped it including Garth Brooks Loretta Lynn Charley Pride and Dolly Parton you can dance to it you can crack something in it for everybody and country music like Ken Burns a definitive new series starts next Friday night at 930 says they should go to sleep b.c. Rick Astley every one of us on b.b.c. Radio like the show on a Saturday morning will like to bring local musicians in don't we to chat about the music and play on a truck or 2 from the brand you see we do indeed and it's been it's been fascinating seeing everybody's life stories and why they're into music what kind of music. Into last week I think we had Charlie in last week a young girl from Preston who got to the press Tony in this week who's appearing at the switch on of the Preston lights next Saturday all that we mentioned today is a lot of one speech answer yet I. Retain joins us now he's released his 1st official single inspired by a young romance in his home city of Preston now Harvey on Wednesday with nation issues straight to the point I asked was this about you and we discovered it was or was there a previous love it was yeah so I mean when I wrote the song I was actually approached by a local festival that was taken place and summer press and just 1st of all. And they asked me if I could potentially write a song for festival that could be featured played live or played in the promotional videos open up until to the to the festival. And yeah so I kind of was commissioned to do it. And I sat down at my piano one day and I just kind of stumbled across these chords that was that was like in. And within 30 minutes I kind of had written the whole song and I wrote it about like you say a romance that's quite related to me. My 1st ever girlfriend that's the big question I don't know you know I try and I try and keep it kind of you know turn it over to you know we're not going to name drop but what would she say if she if she heard the song you know you wrote it yeah I don't know. I mean. I don't want to ask so how long did it take you to. So write the song so I sat. And probably within 3040 minutes or so I sat down at my Rhodes piano and I sat down and I just started singing about love started singing about my kind of 1st experiences relationships and I've been asked in my brief to say look. This needs to be about Preston so I kind of weaved into the fact that it was going to be a story of love within my home city so yeah it took about 30 minutes to to write. As I sat there with my band The next day and we came that we came up with the full arrangement and yeah. But I was asked that sounds thought easy the way you saying it. I just sat down I wrote a song in 30 minutes and did music with it and sometimes you can flaw and other times it might be be harder Absolutely yeah I mean some songs I write take take months can sometimes you know I started writing a song last year and I've still not finished it you know I think you have some songs that you can you come across that you want to write a book you know and there's own you know in the moment to kind of finish it and I think there's some songs that just have that hawk that have that have that thing about it that you just kind of finish it there and then so I think Paris was one of those I think when I when I wrote the hawk which was played by the guitar and I actually doubled it up with this steel drum sample which would be for out it because sounded quite kind of Caribbean and I thought to myself how this sounds rubbish you can't you can't have a pop song that's got Caribbean drama is going to sound really weird this is no one's going to play on the radio and then I sat there with my guitar and I said Look can you double it with that risk can you play it and you know we brought it up through the monitors we listened to it and you know it's on of course so and that's how we all started and we can listen to it shortly I want to listen to after the sports at half 9. Newman college so I don't use you study and yes I mean you know and I'm studying music production music performance and a level German as well I just was frantically through. Quite a run of why did you choose that I have some very good German family friends that live in the Black Forest region of Germany in southern Germany which I actually call story actually I met through and I saw a school exchanged through high school. And we became very very good friends and after I after I left Germany so they came here the 1st time and then I went to Germany the 2nd time and after after we left we kept in really good contact and he said to me how we do all. To Greece in the summer so I said Are you sure so of course 14 year old Harvey coming comes to mom and dad and says I want to bring students German people and they go absolutely not we've never met these people before. So we came up with this plan that my parents for it would come with me and stay in a hotel down the road and I would stay with my German friends in this hotel in this . Like holiday home that they may run out and it turns out when we met up they absolutely loved each other got on really really well of course. We've been friends now for about 4 or 5 years and I regularly spoke to them every day. So I got quite fluent speak and speak in the language so I think it was a great language to speak I think it's a very currently at the moment as well. You know professions and different jobs so any plans to bring It's my powers out and you know if you don't you could do that if you could then see what about it's my birthday and rather than it's well yeah what you just come back from Berlin and I just really beautiful city it's great isn't peaceful city beautiful Newman college you can't you can't not mention Syd Ellis shocked shocked citizens shop is famous opposite human college every student and I think every lecturer from the college news is absolutely I think said is the legend of Newman he actually has an Instagram page as well shout out to Sid everyone. Where human students come in and I don't know they might buy chocolate bars and packet of crisps and then you just take a picture and it's just the coolest. Brilliant. You know perform and original material you've got to start somewhere so sometimes it is just Cindy on a piano for hours and hours and hours Bashan ideas and sometimes you know things come quickly sometimes things take ages to write. Perform and you know that's that's why I want to do so and he picked about a new record label University of Central Lancashire That's right yes how's that going it's going really well it's busy and exciting but when I wrote the song we were kind of already in the goshi Asians about them potentially release in the song but they hadn't actually signed me to the label so this was about May or May Gene time early this year before that before the just fit festival took place. But yeah it's going really well for got really good team work with me. Louis Tomlinson from one direction which is just insane. Yeah I mean unfortunately my audition wasn't actually aired on t.v. But that kind of happens a lot you know they are overcast. But it was a great experience playing and then for the Played it was well that was a similar experience audition didn't appear on t.v. But I got 4 yeses they they seemed interested in my music so it was a cool experience away from the reason of any all the hobbies we're hearing from Rod Stewart said a moment who's got a huge model railway I don't know if you've heard about this I really sweet but he's a oh yeah an amazing collector of is right yeah google it and have a little guy he does all the you know when they make the sets Yeah that's what he enjoys doing making all the architecture so that's well yeah he's brilliant amazing I mean.
