Well I don't know I think we haven't been told one way or the other the bosses yet keep these cards cards very close to his chest dynamo and we'll find out not this week next week next Friday should be the 1st one back on the road if we're doing it but I you know this moment I've got me thermals out on the Sox are already on the radio to warming so we will find out together dynamo in you know in a in a while I guess yes and we've done 50 or so of these outside broadcasts on a Friday with Phil on the road which is something I mean I really do enjoy it's not you know it's not like working for a living you go around meeting loads of people having interesting chats about stuff usually in places a serve decent coffee and I've got cake as well I mean what's not to like and we've had 2 visits this year to Normandy hole and one of them sort of way back in March and then one just before Christmas as it turned out he is a bit of a listen to something we recorded way back in March when we were there and we were Maddy now Maggie Maggie Gray is the collections assistant looking after decorative arts at Normandy hall and we were there because I had this really interesting exhibition on called Behind the screen so we're in it as it turns out we're in a part of the building that has what I'm guessing is more of a sort of permanent collection of costume is that right these are ones that are already belong to the museum service in some way that's right these are the long North Lincolnshire museum services beautiful costume collection we have items that date back to the 1701 of which is on display here one pointed out Commission which which one are drawn trying to describe it is lovely one with the. Bridges That's right and that that Jack in breeches it's velvet pear pull with a little cutout black stars in the stripes that and say we've got peace like this that belonged to a reference on Parkinson he was a relatively local man and and I've seen some similar things in the and I saw very little of how some things that beautiful condition what is a good nick and these are all in very very big glass cabinets I can't physically reach through and touch it which is probably just as well because that's the last thing you need is. Greasy dirty fingers all over it that looks amazingly good condition it is it really is it's got silk lining and the problem with silk is that it generally tends to self-destruct so for that to still be all in one piece we're very lucky to have that we do have some beautiful close up images as well when he was saying about the glass the idea and on the t.v. Screen in the next room was to remove the glass of a person very detail photographs taken of these and I said you obviously you're not going to put out stuff that is in need a great conservation because that's that's not the point of the exhibition I suppose but do you have things in the museum's collection that actually you can't put out there are in the process of conservation That's right we we have a conservation list we we have things that have priority over other things because it's not just the question that needs conservation it's all of the furniture not just in the whole but in the entire western collection as well as the biology of the geology the social history everything so we have to be very careful about what we prioritize but we have about $8000.00 pieces in the kind of election here now in the same cabinet and there are 3 big cabinets in this large room there's what looks like a either a small lady's or a child's dress or some description a wedding dress or is that a wedding veil or the these christening outfits What are these so the idea of these items is to link to the other items in the hall that we've hired from a costume company so the one in the background is an $841.00. Wedding Dress and this is an $876.00 wax flower headdress and veil and they and show the equivalent and the kind of things that the costume company would use as inspiration and as research to create the real thing for the t.v. Screen we're going to do some Come come with me let's see if we can do something very is very advanced in radio terms I had to go to college for about 20 years and we didn't do this to the last week or 2 because it's an advance we've been talking at the same time as we go out of that room past another room it's got the t.v. Screens you mentioned into a big kind of car a door landing area. We're going to hang all right past the fire exit through to one of the bedrooms actually what's the story of the people talk about the costume hoarsely the story of the bedroom here whose room with the Sabine this would have been the man of the house this is his bedroom there the man and the lady had separate bedrooms so this is decorated in the region c. Style with Regency furniture and lovely big for paste about a nice looking nice looking very nice portraits up on the wall there a nice landscape on the right hand side as well yes and a couple of other costumes in here are 2 of the costumes that you've hired That's right yes and so we've had these from Casa prop based in London they make a lot of the costumes that you will see in period dramas in period films so what we've got here is Kate Winslet and beautiful evening gown from Finding Neverland. And on the other side of the bedroom we've got Maggie Smith from the 1st season of Downton Abbey my goodness and they are I mean they are gorgeous things and again you'd have to be an expert and probably way closer up to it that we can get to actually tell these weren't original mean they are amazing pieces of work on the I think it's really fascinating to be honest when I got these items and I open the boxes there was almost a little bit of disappointment because they look so amazing on the t.v. Screen and up close the way that they are made is that see beautiful but when I've been used to handling the real deal it was a very different experience I found that very interesting to see the little cheats that they have well it's not just the quality of them in the material is one thing but actually once you get the garment open they're a cheat because raising me they're not all lined off edition the same way inside That's right yes in the quality of the materials as well and so these are evening gowns from you know. A very upper class character and so it is a silk but it's not the sort of silk that you would see and I was sort of custom collection the fastenings a very different type of embroideries different and of course all of the jewelry is is costume jewelry rather than the. What about the the jets that you think it is by looking at the t.v. Screen and of course this you know it's obvious when you think about it but Sam has been very interesting for me to see those differences still beautifully mayors and the craftsmanship So you've got your complete collection you're kind of your standard collection that's here the whole time supplemented by is it a cost seems on Highway $12.00 and there in the reams of known to be whole and the idea was to change the reams of let us yeah they from a static for a long time and hopefully this will be the start of changing things and getting the names a little bit more interactive and getting people looking at them in a different way yeah that was back in March when we went to normal the whole for the 1st time this year we went again just before Christmas actually and we'll hear from Matty Matty gray again I little bit later on in the program about some of their plans for next year it's b.b.c.
