Ellen. I'll be back tomorrow 6 r.c. For breakfast including a Gordon hour at 9 Meanwhile I'm saying that some Pappas carry white I guess with wreckage of ice after the news that. You'll move. On Digital Radio this is Devon news radio station b.b.c. Radio. News at 10 I'm Alison Jones the latest jobless figures show that unemployment has fallen to its lowest level for more than a decade the number of people out of work in the 3 months to November was down 552-0021 point 6000000 but the number of people in work also found slightly during the same period excavation works are starting again on Tavistock road in Plymouth today they were stopped following the discovery of several grenades at the site a meeting was held yesterday with ordnance specialists police and the City Council and they say contingencies are in place to manage the Safe Search extraction and removal of any further similar devices. A new plan to make education spending fairer will leave more than a 3rd of Devon schools worse off according to an analysis of tamed by the b.b.c. The government says overall Devon will gain half a percent in its education budget but according to the County Council it's still lagging well behind the national average in school spending the conservative m.p. For East Devon Hugo Swire has a Westminster hall debate on the issue this morning I think one $143.00 out of $150.00 local authorities in terms of education funding for the historic underfunding under both years and years of labor and the coalition of the conservatives and frankly when these figures came out they are not satisfactory and that's one having the debates and I want to hear from the minister how he can possibly justify thousands of tourists including people from Britain are being flown out of the Gambia the president is refusing to step down after losing the election and has declared a state of emergency the backseat Secretary David Davis has expressed optimism that he will deliver quickly the best possible deal for Britain during negotiations on leaving the e.u. He says other countries outside Europe are eager to do trade deals with the u.k. And that initial talks could take place without undermining the laws of the year Mr Davis told the b.b.c. That because of the massive amount of trade between Britain and the it was in both sides interests to agree it deal as soon as possible and he suggested 30 that a transitional agreement would not take a long time those interim arrangements will be determined by what the final outcome will be I mean if the final outcome is very like where we are now it won't be very long it's a very different long run so. I doubt it but would you be disappointed I doubt it I mean my job is to deliver this 1st job is to deliver the best deal possible the 2nd thing they want is they want to get on with it but the simple truth is we need to do this expeditiously and that's what we're going to do. An exhibition about the trying years and bank posts in Biddeford has attracted 19000 visitors the Burton at benefit art gallery a museum has had the v.n.a. In the campaign a picture. Of all the thing that I. Never thought. They decided to put in the school sites across to try to embarrass him but you know some people they still look and they did even when they were at school he mean he is one of those people if he put my picture in the paper what I look like at school . The kind of want to come out again I really wouldn't next today then great news for one Devon based animal charity comedian and writer Ricky device has promised the takings from his latest woman cakes for his national tool to them as very exciting Royal Marine pen solving is the found all the charity in question is cool now that he's currently working in the state so I got to catch up with him a little earlier to find out all about him so that's how he started when I was a several brain back in Afghanistan and. I was very cold and in the town of now and I ended up looking after this I see a form of fighting dog the Afghan police that it be using them for a fight and I broke up a dog fight and in that don't be best buddies and at the end of the tour I couldn't bear to leave this job you know I read this bond and so miners have been smuggled out of that up to. London and basically that was the inspiration to start to turn to and use a small. How. Convenient easy thing. And sadly of the for the right reasons the military wouldn't have anything to do with it and so I had to have been smuggled by local Afghans past all the Taliban checkpoints to get them out of the area. Is a kind of mini operation is to get all the. And why now well that was called You know that and that was basically Mort on Wheel of the fighting with the Calabar over that piece of territory in this dog and Harry is sadly always missing a lot the scars that he was on the battle scarred immortal life the townspeople hang on now that sounds really good name for this dog and we soon found out there are e-mails that actually means newborns so for another welfare charity a plan they're concerned with is a pretty cool name fact in fact because you must've been busy enough as it was let alone to be worrying about another one of the person of the animal and then if you say you must have created such a bond with him to be able to want to take him back with you and then to create what is now this now that charity which is going on and on and on. Yeah we went to the very thing do we manage to juggle but we did have our we're in now is out in the town as Bream There was down time when there were just wasn't anything happening and you can smell like it's Ok I want to go out on the do this you just sit there waiting clearly for the next attack to come or the next patrol so I just sit there and be with this dog they claim a weapon and they just stand next to me so we kind of form that bond and feed him some leftover Russians now they can sell can take it for a walk or anything because we just couldn't do that so it wasn't you know we're with them the whole time they just happen to be you know be there and be of their comfort to me really I could just set limits and I was know how important is when I came a time like that to have a bond like that is a must be hugely important there are a lot of guys still with those who are still serve staleness situation in different ways for many years is there with this dog was just a way of distressing 1st 5 minutes each day where other guys would say you know they write letters back home or that makes things out of the home. Mortar shell cases and then you know just a few things just to kind of peer play cards or whatever it was said to me it was just sitting there with a scope so high you know I couldn't bear then to leave behind because I made this connection with them and that's the kind of what has helped me get through our time here so I least very I'm trying to game somewhere safe and that's how it basically started. Your love of animals certainly taken off since then is going. To right. Not only was he saved he saved a few more along the way. We have and I can't take all the credit for it because we've got an amazing. Amazing star 5 in the u.k. And then we've got an even more amazing staff actually on Afghanistan who are there every single day looking after was now become quite a large organization we've got over 20 after Masters now the work force including the 1st ever female Afghan nationals trained is that Americans and we actually have over 150 dogs 40 cats and 6 donkeys in a shelter now and people. Can always expand their work now from dogs and cats actually looking after the working enforcers donkeys you know that basically just use them till they can carry anything else and so we're trying to promote animal welfare now with those animals as a training the future generations of us names that now come to the net that clinic for practical hands on training delivered by vets which includes the actual Afghan women teaching Afghan men so I mean it's actually amazing to say I'm so proud of them also you know what they're choosing. From Penn solving the founder of now after Carly Simon your favor. To. Leg. Length. B.b.c. But it's still got strong links to Afghanistan where it's now got the animal shelter in Kabul and found that southeast when I was the 7th grade back in Afghanistan and. I was. In the town now. And I ended up looking after this. It's a form of fighting dogs the us can play Saturday using them for 5 years might break up a dog fight and when that Delta came past buddies and at the end of the tour I couldn't bear to leave the stop sign because we had formed this pond and so man is having smuggled our hours and up to a couple people flying to London and basically that was the inspiration started chanting can you be smuggled out. Can have been an easy thing to do. And sadly and of the for the right reasons the military wouldn't have anything to do with it and so I had to have been smuggled by local Afghans past all the Taliban checkpoints to get them out of the area after a couple is a kind of mini operation itself just to get all the. And. Well that that was cold as that and that was basically more so on of sci fi to me because I read that piece of territory and this dog and Harry sadly was missing you know lots of scars that he was on the battle scarred immortal life all i got now that sounds really good name for this dog and we see him standing out in the now that actually means needle so if we're not a welfare charity open a. Pretty cool name. For. The people. That that was the. Interview we've now got the exact interview the 2nd interview of course as we sang because we're going to be playing a song for you then we're going to come back to about this with this is the very man I want to hear more about the fact that Ricky. The latest traffic and trouble news from Devon is radio station b.b.c. Radio Devon at the time just 1130 then have a look at the roads in Columbus and call pit Hill is blocked in both directions g 2 an accident between full street and street at the moment is causing a bit of a problem than Plymouth slow traffic on the a 386 have a. Radio Deborah Perry White. Now we are actually going back to Devon based former Royal Marine pen falling and finding out that more about Ricky Gervais we go through I mean we have people who bring us folks injured on the side road. We'll have people who actually want to adopt them or we'll give you a home so bring it to us but most of all we do a lot of country red dots is now for us down families. And so these animals will come in and then you know we love to give them the care and treatment they need and then they leave totally homes locally or actually find them a home or so plainly the donkeys are up for adoption and they are now got to. They can actually just been injured or they almost and live out their days now thankfully not having to work. Finding houses one things for them and also helping them but you're also helping other people when you re home as well that's the important side of this today. Yeah I mean one of the things that we did as well is we fighting rabies around Afghanistan and there's a massive problem every 1000 people a year die from being penned by rabid dogs so for us we're actually on the street somewhere basically neutering vaccinating and then returning the dogs to where we found them try to help control the state population but then also for these people they want to adopt. They're actually specially if they've lived to have a lot of ex-pats. And we have a lot of Afghan families that actually now go somewhere where they can have their dog treated safe from disease and then it just gives him the peace of mind because again you know somebody living and working and that dog just like now that was for me was you know is is that comes a 2nd time and while they're in a pretty stressful situation which again is so important that time for us you know living our daily lives hey we can begin to imagine how important that extra support from an animal could be for somebody like. Carolyn Sometimes I think and for me when I was down in Afghanistan in Helmand province you know that was our day job and I think about your last people back in the u.k. Now you know they got work each day that your jobs are pre-stressed So you know a lot of dogs and cats and one of the things they look for is when they get home is here to suggest what they did to the day take the dog for walk or to sit and watch t.v. With their lap. You know really to maids is the same thing we would do in our day job you know and for me the dog was the important part and help me get through those times so I can kind of relate to people you know who have got those and cats is here they become part of family and part of a here they live their lives and where are your cats don't and don't he's going where bound where do we find him flying off to. Doesn't that actually fly everywhere we've actually helped now of a 1000 soldiers to be reunited with their dogs and cats as a top policy now in Afghanistan. And they go to America Canada of Seaview France Germany Italy couple to Australia South Africa one to Japan. Absolutely everywhere and I understand this is just amazing to see some of them become savvy still in the USA as well. We have we had our 1st dog and actually tied up outside ourselves. Somebody had obviously wanted us to look after this told her that Iraq and we pour into our clinic and she she was so attentive and just really switched on to what we were doing. And we recommended that she was sent to America to be trained as a service dog to be a basic companion for an American veteran. So that dog of c. When. She arrived in Chicago she was trying to be a service dog tied up with a guy called Nate he was a u.s. Veteran done several tours in Afghanistan and suffering hugely from person like stress. And she just she just brought across the top and make. Contact with a man you know is landscape life back on track college or. 'd what is going to see him since he knows yeah you know when he's suffering for example when he had his nightmares at night and he actually knows into can tell he said you know message you don't call a bad space and bring him out of that nightmare whereas before he just woke up every 4 years late. Be disorientating not know where he was and what he's up to be speeding stressed your anxieties coming on she lies again she'll notice what's happening and then she'll just kind of turn over to him and she's like right we're going for a walk. And then we'll just go out with around the block get these thoughts back safely pacing his companions he stayed in with those you know stressful situations and given him a release basically. Once I thought you must have to be so strong with yourself that you don't end up taking them will hire me so. I would love for a moment. I would have a houseful of dogs for my girlfriend quite rightly so says we'll stick with the 2 we've got around here always on the go and traveling around. Saved quite a lot of space demagogic a bullet basically a goal that goes. Quite cold what time to sleep I mean this must be quite a cost to keep the charity running to keep it going forward it does everything we do is basically done with the support of a police family and now supporters and donors to. Go out and run events for us and tell people about what we're doing battle collection since we don't get any government funding at all so you know we think we do is basically from the generous people in like the. One money particular that loves animals it is well known documented in the press is Ricky Gervais'. Now there is indeed exciting phone call that you got. It was a. Phone call it was this We saw it on social media at the same time as everybody else so it's absolutely amazing. And we've wanted and hope Ricky would support our charity and then the blue there it came in is absolutely fabulous and it's been brilliant because not only is he said you to lay the proceeds from of his to warm up gigs but also the exposure now that he's given us and we've got lots of new suppose now on board who said they've come and join this because of saying Ricky tweeting and talking about export. And we are in Los Absolutely and that's the thing it must be one thing getting the support monetary wise to have that out people can see it's the print fun of Ricky being on board must be huge. Yeah it is and I mean we we we can't replicate that you know we don't pay for advertising so you know we were always stunned by how can we get our message out. About what we're doing in Afghanistan and the vital work that goes on out there so somebody like Ricky with. The impact he has on people is just absolutely amazing and something you know we dreamed of having And thankfully you know he's taken to a cause which is absolutely brilliant of him Do you know Ricky then personally. No I mean one. In one. Garden Party raising support from a welfare charity but that's as far as they go so you never know what the future may hold. I know we can never know it would be just. Brilliant Actually yeah it was we'll see where that goes we can well. Thank you for that poise given so people think it's been following that from now it's also going to be speaking out to form a service man who has hound dog as the family pet now he's also having a bit of an exciting time at the moment as yesterday he was awarded an endeavor award for his transatlantic running a treatment talking to Spencer later on he with Prince Harry and Prince William yesterday you might have seen it on social media so that's all on the way up to 12 also going to be speaking about Scandi Phil next as well looking forward to that. Possibly you might not have been before but you might be chance on the way to Roxy Music. Sold. For so long. To. Coming down to 12 Roxy Music can carry in fits than if you like my valise maybe it's I am one a Saturday morning that's my usual time don't hear from 9 till 12 and such as I do my requests don't we have a bit of food and drink and we basically find out what's going on with everybody and everything in death and that's basically what Saturday mornings are about so if I'm not here I'm normally that on Saturday now from the t.v. Series the killing to the popularity of travel to Finney and unsweetened there is a trend towards old things Scandinavian at the moment it's no coincidence then Scandi film season is back at the Ex to Phoenix from Friday Horrocks is the woman with the job of coming up with the program of the festival and that must be some job collab Good morning to you a good morning it is yeah they're not quite there yet but it's a bit iffy eighty's this is something that's a passion of your own which is just kind of exploded Alex that always is something you've just got into recently. Yes and I wouldn't say here that the after trip to Norway where I think in a everybody does the snowy cabin with some friends and I discovered quite a lot of Norwegian so. I'd never seen before and just had enough with it and then and I discovered a whole range of films that were far removed from the Nordic new law that we now use through the killing and things is wonderful storytelling characters and sense of humor and I wanted to share that with people originally because it's not just you they all becoming extremely popular what you say about them makes the popular it's a good question I think it's seen as quite exotic in a strange way so I think you've got films that have characters that are very similar to us in some ways and there's a lot we can associate with you know they might be troubled with something but then there's this sense of culture which is very far removed from what we know I. And I think not seen all the way from the documentaries all the way in to kind of the dramas that we shy I have to all my hands up clarity and I've not seen a lot of it so for somebody like me that pos might be listening thinking oh for this about what fulfills have you got lined up how can you sort of get us in to see these films Oh my goodness are there certain magic that he is a really great documentaries that some wonderful documentaries about. Characters that are kind of far removed from the Southern Asian culture we've got one called nice people for example which is about Somali refugees who are struggling to engage with the with the Swedish community and they take up a sport called bandy which is a bit like I said Ok and they become the 1st team. Out of Scandinavia to take pasta in this in the Championship and that's a real feel good film and it gives you a good sense of how Scandinavians engage with other coaches themselves we have films such as goes last which is quite a good use culture film it's about science and girls to sex and magic potion and become boys we've got a film called The happiest and the last of all the marquee which is this gorgeous black and white film set in the 1960 s. About a book sas who falls in love and I think I don't normally describe films like this but if you're a guy you watch a boxing film if your goal is to love story I cannot recommend the film and. So it's also different from say again we might just never have heard of before never thought about going to say and it's worth popping in then to the Phoenix you can be reading this for the sort of the whole weekend. Is it just fiction films that you run away documentaries as well in case people haven't been able to get into full well as he runs all the way through so much that he got so screenings that run throughout the whole season and it makes a documentary that got $1212.00 different films documentaries that drama there's comedy we've got to short film screenings and there's one analogy be screening which takes place in separate And then we've also got a short film screening all about adventure films so you've got crazy people doing. Free skiing and diving and all sorts of silly stuff but to be united in the comfort of a minima. And a and how discussions that are linked to them we've got a film called bugs which is all about insect eating and that's followed by an insect tasting workshop they look up from the Cornish edible insect company and he's going to come down and cricket. Delicious tasty light but he could try and those with a sense that they're in storytelling events. They fear if you noting to eating your bugs there are other food options available I believe is that right. Yeah yeah you might treat you. Ok. For East Devon explained the way the formula works is when primary schools get good results secondary schools in the area get less money what do you actually say is that the debts you achieve progress school level the more money you're going to get at secondary school level in other words let's tell our prime rate headmasters in the lowest low with it aims lower the exam results because they'll get more money when they go to secondary school there's a perverse incentive which I think has no. Base in any kind of logical joined up thinking well the schools minister Nick gave argued that plans for a new national funding formula would resolve what he called unfair funding levels but he admitted the changes would see winners and losers in Devon school funding in Devon as a whole will rise on the basis of 201617 figures from 377200000. To $378700000.00 a rise of no point 4 percent 213 schools in Devon would gain funding 62 percent of all the schools I feel I recognise that the proposals would result in budget reductions for some schools a 2nd consultation on the proposed national funding formula was launched last month and runs until the end of March the president of the European Commission John Claude younker has said he'll do everything he can to ensure the negotiations over Britain's exit from the European Union end in a good result for all concerned addressing the European Parliament in stars Berg he said negotiations would not begin until Britain had formally signalled its intention to leave. That . The devil's got. That. Has got. To get. Done. It. Should just go past sunset. But. It's. Still remember the movements that came out a few years later it's about one blame it on the boogie the Jacksons on the way from one study Victoria Graham will be here she's sitting in the seat for Janet today and if you'd like to join in the debates the lead. You can get in touch get in early can e-mail at Devon events at b.b.c. Dot co dot u.k. We'll be talking to Victoria a little bit later on to find out what's exactly on the show today next today then someone who you might well have seen in the papers also on social media as well any chatting to Prince William and Prince Harry so name a couple of people Devon's to amputee transatlantic row is calle Royce from Dartmouth unleased Spencer from her branch have both been presented with medals the Endeavor funded wards at least as with me now now well of course these were the 1st endeavor funded wards what they lay What did die how you feeling. Quite shocked actually I wasn't quite sure what was happening last night I didn't realise that a big number now you probably to. Hear your control we. Saw it it was a really really good know it and. I said couldn't tell you when you said it this will have a transatlantic which was a shock as well we didn't know that was going to ask you to say just think this time last year it's been quite a bit of a rat a rollercoaster of a year really and there you are and what did make me chuckle as I've seen some of the pictures as well as yourself was it was chaos he's got a rather long beard. To present the Medal obviously Prince Harry had to put it over his heads but what I loved about this is he actually lifted up his b.s. Because he got quite a long beard. You don't see you know it. Is . Very much the starting point a sense of you. You know you're could go I think personally I think he's a bit envious actually because I notice the it's been sporting a bit of a bit himself of light and I think he would really like to have a nice little bit probably can't get away with it during the fight the. That he's a prince. That he wants. Someone mentioned he was in uniform and had a beard and. You honestly said well i asked me 9 and he said it was. So much that if I could really fight it. Indeed if she says Ok then that's absolutely fine oh well enough of the beard goes he gave of course back to the actual award as well because it is a huge of what is sinful and of course the public see such public support for injured servicemen and women he would do continue to challenge themselves just like you have what challenge you date is important isn't it. Yes. I would want to know what was more about the guys. That were not only part hunted in the events and so we spoke so to people in the background who you know swore why doing all the different traffic may go in to get them off the ground and it was it was a real privilege and honor to say a good friend of mine named Heritage's won't be lying to him so. Kind and helped us on that spend and he got the family was. The 1st one that's been given out congratulations to name so not only is it an award it's the 1st one ever that's been given out because the Endeavor was they felt they funded over 39 different projects directly assisting more than 1500 people on the recovery journeys and in 10 inspiring many thousands more so you thinking it was going to continue is going to go from strength to strength. Yeah think the now thing about Endeavor fund is Prince Harry and come up with the idea where we saw injured servicemen sort of have been a life title while their previous lives where I was physically active and continuously challenge in s.l. . You know to have that fight in a widening it's that. You know it's sometimes it's hard to come to terms with the person that you feel you've become and if so why have signed you know a lost cause on your danger you can still challenge yourself and that's the idea behind the Endeavor fund which you know is there to you know put a lot of money into a lot of these projects which costs someone's arm and a leg squeezed apart. And as you say new center backing back into normal life and adjusting to it we had earlier from pen farthing about Ricky to face Of course promising some of these key takings to the now that charity we understand your family dog is from now that is that right. Yeah that's right you're into fashion and I thought come across a small park I felt sorry for a small radio I'd try to fit in and styled stuck between 2 wire fences you know you inch that we actually you know help support the dog and. Took it back to the camp which we shouldn't of done. When started to pick it up and we had like a little pet dog and him our cousin kind of put me in touch with her now said dogs and pain and the orange to you know have the dog story don't go right back from Kandahar Lashkar which is the provincial capital Helmand to Kandahar then Kabul then Islamabad and then it will start for 6 months ago when they then after that we picked you up just. A lovely dog lovely lovely. Doc. Very very nervous when we 1st got. Patients in love when we saw this really good family doc and of course keep you very busy at the same time as well I see from your pictures out about on you around the more just enjoying life which is lovely to hear and so then come on then you obviously got this challenge out the way what's next for you any plans Yes well the last time I was in the States I was telling. Going to run across the Atlantic again Charlotte but they start on I want to go from. Venezuela and get the world record for the 1st decide the person to run from continent to continent so that was totally taken up with that. In between time my New Year's resolution is to visit every single toll that some more I lifted on a one to 24 as fast and I were smacked. Efren as a 160 year old member exactly. Yeah get me up at the morgue to focus on what what I was grateful I can just get those stuff on a as I mission you know something to work towards So yeah. It's a way for walkabout to fray months ago on the mall and I could barely manage it you know killing my and it struck me that you know something before I took for granted you know it's now some quick I have to you know work and keep in shape for. That's the idea of the hour and the well you know inspiration and congratulations on your award as well thank you ever so much for speaking to us today sort of you know come down now and sort of you know see how life goes without dropping showed anymore today with Prince Harry and William a gay can you. If you get through the day. Before. And say we want to see a picture of Les with Prince William and Prince Harry then check our Facebook page and Twitter pages there all know that you will and the. Terrence joins me now than if you let me. Was bad just go on 20 pounds 12 tell me stop into rumble it is lunch time so when I sold the snakes feature the old pleads out for lunch yes please that I realise what it was all about now this is an interesting question do you reckon that you are a good neighbor honestly with my neighbors probably one side better than the other the other one I don't really see that often but I have a feeling if you asked him if we could get next phase for the sale of yes that our family with a very loud children and the very loud mother who shouts at the children a lot but if you all get it it's a good thing because recess. John today suggests that something as simple as knowing your neighbors was a huge economic benefit for the u.k. Now this is really interesting it's been done through Egypt projects initiative it's called The Big Lunch and with me is the executive director Peter Stewart and Communities program delivery manager Tracy Robbins Now get out of to mean the big to get afternoon teas and why did this all start how did it come about it all started back quite some time ago now dark back in 2009. Came from the Eden Project which is as you know down in in that wonderful part of the world known to a lot of people as a big greenhouse and what people may not know is that underpinning that is a charity which is about connecting people with each other in the living world and out of that we came up with an idea which was what would it be like if you could stop the country for 4 hours on one day and see what happens if you can encourage people to sit down and have lunch with their neighbors since that time it's grown quite significantly from small beginnings to last year where we had over 7000000 people sit down and have lunch with their neighbors on one day so very simple I did start with but actually. Beneath all the fun and the bunting and cupcakes there's a very very serious thing going on is that you start to be able to connect people and they start to feel healthier happier and safer and live in communities rather than individual houses because of see if you say that it becomes happy healthy How does that actually prove to be an economic benefit that is well. Hi So what we found is when people are connected they feel their well being increases so if we say take someone who might be isolated lonely for example we know that loneliness increases people's rate of dementia cardiovascular disorder is twice as bad as being of a so all those factors are simply connecting that person to their neighbor will reduce all the health impacts that we experience when we're stressed experience in mental health issues were lonely or depressed so it's those well the better fits that people get from being connected that reduce the costs on surfaces which is huge I think in the south west you're looking Athol 151000000 pound reduction if everybody the southwest was engaged in community activity is that over a year did you say oh yeah yeah over a year. So again just trying to encourage people to sort of get out to meet each other to know that they're there for each other and say take 4 hours did you say out of your day to come and have some lunch when this is actually taking place so we're trying this this year it's on June the 18th and we hope rain or shine that people will do on that day and come in enjoy some lunch with the plans hopefully to be able to reduce these figures as well what's the plans ahead and how you hoping to actually reduce these figures do you know going forward. What I think what we saw how we started was a very lightness of touch just put an invitation out there and see what happens 9 years on you know millions of people have taken place taking part in it so already we know from these figures the fact that we have communities coming together and going on to do other things that we're already making holes in that what we'd like to get just. Through this one idea itself is you know you know like in the states where you have Thanksgiving Day It's not owned by anybody and everybody knows what to do about think about this is almost like the the Thanksgiving Day for neighbors we don't own it nobody owns it but everybody does that we would then anticipate and you could really really stop the country for 4 hours if you do that we know enough research based on these figures that we make huge holes in terms of these these quite scary figures so not just only with the health services you're looking at also crime reducing that Spike getting to know your neighbors also sharing resources between neighbors as well hopefully helps saving some money there so basically all just by getting to know a neighbor's this can be done you really think so yeah and we know from the research the neighborliness already delivers a substantial economic benefit of $23800000.00 pounds and that's with the people that are already engaged with their neighbors so if that was replicated across the u.k. Then that would be huge and share in locally is really really beneficial so people who are able to share the expense of looking after pets d.i.y. Trams sharing food borrowing things get together rarely not just improves that constant connection we have with all the people shares the results as we've got I mean again in the Southwest you know you are look at it 2500000000 pounds just from shared stuff with the neighbors. So some end note for us all perhaps to go away and take today and then come and join in the funds just remind us again when if you're going to be doing that lead in projects so it's well it's everywhere but it's June the 18th so you know if you can come to even if you don't come to even on that day in fact we don't want you to come on the day we want you to stay at home in your neighborhood and sit and have lunch with people around you and I'm cool and I was going to say if you want to find out more we've got a lovely results pack and lots of information and tips on our Facebook and on our website site so you can put the big launch in any search engine and you'll come up with us all go to Aden project communities dot com and there's lots of information and advice case today's ads apart if people are interested in hold in a big lunch thank you ever so much than Tracy Robbins and Peter Stewart from the community's program all about the bacon lunch. It's treating more patients than ever before but the pressure on the n.h.s. I just 18000 expected to be home punk Tonight's What do you reckon the atmosphere is going to be like oh it's just going to be amazing I mean when we went to Liverpool we actually saw Lance the cop banged up couldn't believe that we only took we had 8 mouth nose and hands we could've took 20 I think up there but we just stunned them you know they never stopped singing it was just it made the hairs on the back and expand up it's just amazing you know I mean all right for so of course you know to bring him back Clay because she must have seen a fair few gains of the years so when the extra excitement stakes How does this race for an all constables and I think this been some great evenings on the part when we've got promotion obviously in some cracking games and of course see the one that really stands out you see 84 in the semifinal you know win the cup when we nerdy we nearly done it again and what for but important repeated. Last 11 for Kevin Kevin all just for the dot so everybody jumped beyond that goal we also did the score but he reckoned it all before it went in to equalize but. I've got all right now I don't need just by the sounds of things get the rhythm up I know. You don't say well how you feeling tonight is going to be a better game for any predictions on the score my lots will stop all I'm going for a 21 for us. Can you imagine if I happen. A lot of almost 750 to one to win the f.a. Cup That's good odds actually 750 is worth far more for the trade bonds it is still in the running you never know can you never know well lots of love to live rain we hope she recovers quickly and we're really really sorry that you're not be there tonight I know that you're going to keep up posted on what's going on and if she listens actually tonight c.b.c. Radio Devon we will have it life here from 7 so we'll keep her company or I can just all the senior greens wish you all the best as well as got on the central program and also the Chuckle Brothers and their regards So they now. See my regards back to them you know you've made it what I can thank you ever so much enjoy and let's keep our fingers crossed for that school for you then hopefully you'll have a good night's enjoy Ken Thanks ever so much thanks for speaking to us of love him I thought all goes well for him tonight on Paula rain rain waiting to say the Neil came up get well soon right. Except. Those. 2 blasts. With the own. Posts. I was. Think it is a question for you what have you done today to make yourself feel proud had the symbol on b.b.c. Radio Devon the question fi Victoria anything you've done today to make self a proud Well I have about 3 cakes that I'm really proud of. Do you manage to get what I do you get one day I got them all the go with good I go most folks have this huge past day or breakfast this one and I tell you what he said to me when I got in he said you should try the part no it's just this massive crowd not the glass goes all the crust it was like Ok You know I missed out on that and the cakes pulled me . It's exciting times of course today I'm wondering if you're going to be talking about him a thug through the show you Victoria or you managing to escape it well what you know is that you're not really on all my agenda today I'm very happy to talk about if anybody say wishes to on Spotlight tonight we're going to be that along with Matt and pepper life at the grounds there's lots of it in spotlight so I thought I'd get people little bit of a breather Cavite good ideas we can walk on people but you know I am happy to listen to your rants about all God all praise for all Gol if you'd like to what I'm interested in today is this new technology that's been developed in Boston it's called human ease these these trackers that are going to be put on workers and doesn't mean you know how would you feel if your employer I mean you do have to give your consent but employers are being asked if they could be fitted with trackers and these trackers basically monitor your conversations who you're talking to Apparently they don't work in bathrooms praise the Lord but it's this new technology and just want to how far can technology go and what you want monitored is this the ready to previously launching recently and you know I said I said to the guest I was talking to you earlier he will listen to you later if. I was having a one to one with say you private conversation or want on with my boss I don't think that monitored you know every questions and I said I'm normally the 1st to put my hand up and volunteer for something not the thing I know you know but you know it's when people do develop things like this the technology one wonders is that the future it's not compulsory at the moment but could it be the future of being tracked and put chips in new cars in Sweden they can put chips in you know into employees which gives you access to photocopiers and printers and you can pay value a chip in your arm in cafes or teenagers can you imagine that being a parent of a teenager and tracking them so that you can hear every trip I mean you wouldn't want to know what you know I think innocence is bliss so that's one of the subjects Another one is about wheelchairs and buggies on buses it follows an appeal court ruling today a man who basically was appealing a decision that was made back a few years ago he got onto a bus this isn't happening the southwest but it could happen anywhere but on top us in Yorkshire a woman and has sleeping child was in a push chair taking up a space for a wheelchair where will check could go and she wouldn't move and so he missed the bus because there's no space for him so he took it all to court but what I'm interested in is you know should you make way for wheelchair users on buses all do buggies have the right buggies can be I suppose folded up a little bit of hassle but fold it up and move to the side you can't necessarily fold wheelchair instead in a sand standard seat many people current So who should take priority if anybody and why we still having these discussions with so where a disability these days that you know is it people's attitudes we need to change still and change people's attitudes and we're going to make it to banks Yeah and also we're talking about I think it's called Philippines it's Got Talent a bit like Britain's Got a little 7 year old from Mexico. And it's quite a bit of a federal right because it's so. Raises the question about the sexualization of children if you see it that way some see it as you know almost like what you call the not prom queen when you go for pageants beauty pageants. Girls being put on makeup and sort of tight for saying short dresses is that right to do that is it giving them confidence like showing up to the world and it's right but some people think it's very wrong and that it encourages sort of pornography maybe. Paedophiles and also this whole thing about body image as well as right teach girls for very young age about their body image making them look sexy and appealing to be Ok in your bedroom but maybe not on the national stage so we're talking about as well I asked to talk. Yes you're going to learn a lines may be ringing on the cell phone A's 345301134 Have a good savings or thanks of using good luck the soft new when you do head down to home.
