How do we have to think about the next 100 years in addition I'd say we are leaking at the moment the roof is leaking it's part of our responsibility is to look after the historic collection we've got to address that leak so we need to spend about 100000 pounds immediately to fix that in the run up to Christmas choral Council is offering free parking on selected days in its own car parks to persuade more people to shop and eat in the High Street b.b.c. Radio Connell's Dick Strawn reports claim will Council contacted city town and parish councils to offer the initiative which will result in over 90 Comal council run car parks which usually charge for parking being free for one day some town and parish councils are offering additional free parking days many towns have chosen the day to encourage people to come along to festival vents they already have plans others have selected Saturday the 7th of December as their free parking day to coincide with the annual Small Business Saturday a national initiative that's been running for the past 7 years on street parking however is excluded from the scheme and people living on an estate in bought men say they were shocked to find that all their front door mats had been removed the kinsmen estate is managed by Conal housing who say the mats represented a fire hazard and they have a 0 tolerance approach to any items left in a communal area but resident Melanie Foster told as the months appear to be the only things which have been taken away my security there were still pushed by the road but if you're in a communal areas but people's front doors but try to make it look a little bit more welcoming to the door it's all been taken. Ok let's crack straight on the leader the Liberal Democrats Joe Swinson is in Comal this morning is campaigning intensifies ahead of the general election come the Lib Dems on seat any of Komo 6 Tory M.P.'s as the big question Jasmine's in on the line now from someone called Good morning to you your morning let's start with some good news feel Party from an unexpected souls lifelong conservative former deputy prime minister Lord has full time has urged members of his policy to vote for the Lib Dems or former Tory M.P.'s who've had the whip removed in a stunning as independents Here's what he had to say although I'm a lifelong conservative member of the conservative party in this particular context I couldn't vote for my party with bricks it's a gender if you haven't got a independent conservative than I would say there's only one party that can actually secure another referendum on the issue and stop exits and that is the Lib Dems What's your reaction to that. Well I think it tells you quite how far the Conservative Party has moved under Boris Johnson we've seen the deal they've done with knowledge of frosh So we know that the the break that Boris Johnson is putting forward is the hardest of heartbreaks it with the real prospect that we still might crash affectively with no deal at the end of next year so I mean that context that's why lifelong conservatives like Michael has all thought you have concluded that they can't support Boris Johnson and let's face it there's also the issues about this being a man who was prepared to lie to the Queen to ride roughshod over the rule of law and I know there's a lot of people who have been conservatives who find it very difficult the look the idea of voting for Boris Johnson other switching to the Liberal Democrats this time as a result a lot of people supporting in one of the polls are quite positive Let's get another question from one of our listeners Yes Joe we've been asking b.b.c. Writing homelessness this morning for what they would ask if they had the chance this is for me an instant Genesee rang it a little earlier he's a former Lib Dems voter he's not a tool revised 34 voted leave in the referendum what can you say to him to win back the Lib Dems. So I think there's obviously various issues the election our position on. That is well understood and we're being very upfront about that are we also know that a lot of people who are concerned about many other issues here in Cornwall about the fact that these are the conservatives the flushed funding for core world particularly in the last 4 years and the general who you know focused on sort of London associate of the competitors needs to be needs to be met by the type of ambitious representation that people in Cornwall heard when you had lived there and he's representing this area in the past you know people like Matthew Taylor and Dan Rogers the copilot there's been a long history of liberal Democrat m.p. Standing up for Cornwall and in our manifesto we've got 50000000000 homes a rebalancing fund to make sure I was the leader of. The for part of our country can draw it with more investment which is in stark contrast to the money that the conservatives are cut and indeed all of the money that Cuomo does lose if we leave the European Union it's a tough sell in Cobol the $56.00 and a half percent of people in coma as a whole voted to give you an uncompromising stance on Bracks it isn't really cussing it listen to these 2 voters we spoke to well I'd like to I haven't decided what to do about voting I would like to get Thomas out. And I would like to vote for Andrew George everybody likes him but we don't we don't want the Lib Dems to side with the tourist like they did before I would not stop breaks it I would like it to happen I'm not sure I have a question for Joe's window because on your show that she's got 20 ounces I haven't seen any answers coming out on just to say that we're staying in which is after the fight whether you want to be in a whether you want to be out that was what people voted for whether you like it don't. Not let's outwards of Nicky enter a says How do you expect voters in this country to vote for you in confidence when you do what you feel is right and not what the people vote for this is a major sticking point why did you decide to get so heavy on the issue of revoking Article 50 if you were prime minister when that was never likely to happen and you've alienated lots of people. Well I think we're just being all exist and let's be clear that would be in the circumstance that there had been a democratic mandate for a liberal Democrat majority government so it is about giving people the choice and the chance to choose and if that isn't the case of course we're going to continue to work for a people's vote as we have done for 3 and a half years to a specific form of Gregg's that to the public because what Boris Johnson is proposing right now this very hard break that was supposed to be crushing it was a deal that isn't what was being put forward in 2016 and so I think it's great that we give people a chance to say what they think about that and to the 1st of the people that spoke on your in your book spoke to just that I mean actually is the liberal Democrats who got the best chance of beating the conservatives right here at 0 chance of was doing any kind of deal doing anything to cut Boris Johnson and number 10 which I hope can reassure the lady that spoke to your show and many other is a fact is liberal Democrats who got the real opportunity to stop were children getting a majority because whether it's here in Cornwall or indeed all through the other parts of the Country Liberal Democrats are competitive with the conservatives we are looking to take seats from the conservatives and that's the best way to deny those children the majority when you've got a Labor Party that just isn't isn't by any stretch the imagination in a position to be taking seats from the Labor Party were in even some in their strongholds they are losing ground Jason thank you very much for being with us on b.b.c. Radio come on the leader of the Liberal Democrats 12 minutes past 8 on the whistle stop tour and of course we will hear from other big political heat is joining the goals of the rest of the campaign not other election news for you this morning Britain's most senior Jewish leader the Chief Rabbi Efren him as this as interview sorry has intervened in the general election campaign condemning what he says is a labor leadership's failure to deal with anti semitism He also questions whether Jeremy cool. When is fit to lead the country he makes the criticism in an article in today's times his the B.B.C.'s religion editor Martin Bashir this is a highly exceptional significant contribution by the leader of a religious denomination jury in a general election campaign and he's saying a new poison has taken root in the Labor Party sanctioned from the very top the Chief Rabbi claims the majority of British Jews are gripped by anxiety at the prospect of a Labor victory in next month's general election and he says it's fiction for Labor to claim that it's investigated all cases of anti semitism in its ranks my cancer is chair of the Jewish labor movement he says he agrees with the Chief Rabbi's assessment diagnosis is absolutely correct isn't just a failure in the Labor Party process and policy is actually a failure of politics and leadership and the fact the leadership of the most part it hasn't been able to get a grip on it over you know a number of years to show that there's a greater commitment to keep your pretty good product together now actually tackling racism Labor's rejected the criticism saying Jeremy Corbyn is a lifelong campaigner against all forms of prejudice the party says it's tackling the problem by expelling members found guilty of anti Semitism Jenny Manson is from the Jewish Voice for labor group she says the real threat to Jews in Britain is from the far right what we know because we really do know the fact is there is a serious and threat to Jews on the far right there is no threat to Jews in the party and I think 20 being in the election this time is very very poor stuff work go down well with people who are open minded who know who look at the evidence. It's a very bad day for me is it you Jeremy Corbyn will set out Labour's plans to combat anti semitism when he unveils the bodies race and face manifesto later today it includes a commitment to work with social media companies to tackle hate speech online the party says in government it would also review the national curriculum so every child will be taught about the dangers of anti Semitism if you'd like to have your say what you've been hearing this morning the thoughts of Joyce Winston who we spoke to a moment ago who is in coma campaigning in the election all that story or anything else about the election of a modern buy here at lunchtime on the way to a 101 of 39 Kevin Thomas standing by with a 5 day forecast but as find out what Naomi Kennedy is up to today we're you know what you're doing morning I'm a common downs this morning it's a village on the outskirts of church full on this particular street that I'm on of bungalows and dormant bungalow builds around 50 years ago and because of their age of course they are ripe for picking when it comes to unscrupulous tradesmen coming along saying Oh I think you might have a couple of tiles where you saw your guts is could do with being cleaned or fancy and you drive way less maintenance you won't have to worry about it and that's why the village here is actually saying no we don't want that we don't want cold callers we don't want scammers coming to our village and trying to rip us off I'm here with a number of residents and the police and trading standards find out how they're going to do it after the weather. B.b.c. The window in a studio so grubby I can't see if there's a little bit of blue sky outside of it's just a blue tinge to the cloud Kevin I'm not sure if there be anything it could be uniformly grey or there could be a bit of blue out there and in the distance on the shore that's my challenge to Naomi this morning is to find a bit of blue sky to take a picture watches and commandants just looking at the rest of the county though for the eastern half of call was much more clout around still some rain carried away to the east in fact at Alton on Rob reporting wet and windy conditions have mild has to be said the visibility a mile 4 millimeters of rain he Levon point one degrees the current temperature but it is windy southerly 7 the the wind at the moment but just a little further towards the coast opposed efforts 12.9 degrees still very modest as Jeff just told me it's the sunshine yesterday dry and overcast at the moment and no rain obviously falling at the moment the visibility is good and the surf or to 6 foot and clean ish and that's because the winds are offshore at the moment coming in from the south to Southwest they are very strong the winds around parts of the coast and there is a weather warning in force for the whole of the southwest for rain today valid from 1st thing this morning to around 3 o'clock this afternoon and also includes the problem with some strong winds as well now as I said the cloud in the rain largely focused towards the east it's still clearing too away to the east at the moment a further west the cloud is much thinner and it will be some breaks developing allowing some sunny periods to develop along with a scattering of showers and some of the showers could be occasionally heavy the winds turning to the south and southwest the strong to go force they were. Reach severe go force at times to the west especially gusts in excess of 50 miles an hour already occurring and the maximum today between $11.14 Celsius up to $57.00 Fahrenheit becoming cloudy of the sea evening heavy showers will become more frequent as an area of low pressure which represents the remains of ex-Tropical storm Sebastien moved towards the north Comal Devon coast towards tomorrow morning so longer spells of rain developing after midnight and the winds fresh to strong from the southwest the go to increase again towards gale force in the West by the morning and the minimum temperature between $8.11 degrees tomorrow that heavy Sherry rain will ease during the morning there will be further blustery showers through the day though perhaps a heavy at times although interrupted by some brightness at least and it will be windy with strong western north westerly winds reaching up to gallop and perhaps even severe gale force to the west and around parts of the coast maximum temperatures tomorrow between $8.12 degrees to $54.00 Fahrenheit and overnight into Thursday and Thursday itself will be fairly cloudy some sherry outbreaks of rain hopefully some brighter sunny periods developing on Thursday one on Friday dry and brighter conditions gradually spreading in from the north although cloudy conditions allow it to return overnight into Saturday nights because another area of low pressure will be moving fairly close to us for a time and that may introduce some outbreaks of rain from the southwest on Saturday before it turns away overnight into Sunday the winds on Thursday go back to those will be moderate from the northwest they will ease during Friday and eventually turn to the east on the Saturday once more becoming quite strong temp just falling away somewhat towards the end of the weight 12 the high on Thursday and by Saturday then down to maximum of 1050 Fahrenheit and overnight temperatures also fall in a way to around 3 Celsius by Saturday morning the insurers forecast until 6 o'clock tomorrow morning the windsurfer southwest very west later 6. Together 8 but occasionally Serpico 9 to the north and west the weather occasional rain will fundraise shows the visibility could occasionally moderate. Its Elton John on Sun search I went to the bottom just where I am on the pounds out of the box from where I look back into the impressive career of Elton John I'd like to become a legend but I don't think I will be because they're so very very special here is honest conversation when I left home for the 1st time it was suddenly like unleashing the beast in this exclusive interview with me Graham Norton what was the industry reaction like nobody ever wrote about it in fact I think I chickened out because I was bisexual Elton John uncensored Thursday night at 9 on b.b.c. One. It's something that comes up on our lunchtime phone and quite a lot isn't it called cold callers Oh yeah scammers I wonder if you've ever had it where there's a knock on your door and there is a cold caller trying to flog you something it can take you just by total on the way as because you're not expecting somebody to call and as we've heard hundreds of times on b.b.c. Radio people can so easily fall foul and find selves with demands for thousands of times when I want Cornish village has said enough we've sent Naomi Kennedy to Como's 1st no cold calling zone Yeah this is mount a guard rode in Cannon downs this morning is a busy village chair it's really nice village lots of lovely houses the House is a mile a bungalow Dormer bungalows built in the late 1960 s. Or early 970 so they've got a decent amount of garden they've got their own driveways as well and as I walk up the road the 1st thing I see on the lamppost is a big sign saying no cold call is saying you are requested to leave this property and failure to do so could be a criminal offense Now what does that actually mean and just how difficult has it been for residents here so much so that they wanted to make a stand against this will some of them have collected across the road for me this morning good morning everyone thanks for coming out for us this morning let's talk a little bit about some of the cool cool is that you've been having a lot more kind of things have they been trying to sell. Anything from double glazing we've had the Jehovah's Witness We have some charity. Roof insulation I think I've pinched all those things off my neighbors to saying anything else anybody else knocking your drive cleaning out your gutters. Gardening want to come and chop the trees down to anything yeah and when you're faced with this you know you may be cooking a meal or watching a bit of telly the doorbell goes you go out What are your feelings with a please go away because I have a sticker on my door to say no cold callers but apparently they don't read very well isn't it what about you what kind of things you see Well I think is mostly the garden and that for the car taken in the trees in the Yass and well they say they've got to so much tarmac left over from the job they've done in the village and do you want your drive and yes mostly do you feel confident to say no to them yes I do yeah yeah good stuff you say no no thank you and shut the door shut the door yeah absolutely operative what about you guys week we've had solar solar panels people grab trying to sell us such when I said I didn't want them he told me I didn't want to because I didn't know what I was talking to barge and I ended up in an argument in our driveway he was going to take no for an answer I just said I don't want to miss a book you don't want because you don't know we talking about and that was it is it is an incredible sales pitch that is an exit you imagine going into a shop for something you'd never get that kind of service and I know they oversee a you to married but I mean that must've taken you a bit by surprise I don't like to talk and quite scary scary when I open the donor I will have to know why but that last one was really scary wasn't to the special needs guy wasn't about the Baucus stuff to sell I want one person got really aggressive and all that was really aggressive and one of our neighbors had to call the police my goodness this is a problem and speaking to the other chappie uni moved in a year ago how many cold callers do you reckon you've had in just a year of living here and coming down and around town around town so they like the rest the people said they're all right you know like the problem is you don't know what they're looking for you know if they're legitimate or you know you just got to go along with it but like um it's quite frightening for the hour. And people that are boy there sounds like you know like you say you don't know what they're looking for whether they are religious make company or not let's speak to both the trading standards and to the police nice a partnership working that that's happening here. This is one of the difficulties isn't it Leon McLean for a month from trading standards because they do quite often look quite legitimate Absolutely it's really really difficult now to pick out a dodgy tradesmen from a genuine one you know years gone by you could tell because they had terribly old vehicles but they look so genuine Now they have the Flyers uniforms and embroidered hats it's really really hard for you know a general member of the public to work out whether they are up to no good or whether they're genuine and Emil Gabrial your P.C.'s your own home and I guess we're working alongside trading standards and you've been working with a number of people and families and some of which have fallen files that tell me some of the cases that you've had to work on well there are people that get cold cold and they end up losing a lot of money and then we come in and we have to deal with that we have to safeguard them and we investigate cases you know it's very sad to say because there's a lot of people who we've seen how it affects them it's awful you know it's not not fair on them and we're going to do what we can to stop these trade is devastating for this and examine its thousands of pounds and it's not just the loss of money is nice people feel silly for being scammed when frankly it could happen to any of us a lot of people were broke when reporting purely because they do feel so silly that I think it's their fault that they've they've been scammed and that's not the case and we would urge anyone to report any rogue traders if they've lost money reports a trading standards you can do something and you have successfully brought a number to to the courts and successfully prosecuted now there is that sign that I mentioned at the start of this that has gone up but we also just heard from some of the. Since you said we've got stickers in our doors already in this still knocking at the door what kind of effect do you think designating this area of Khan and downs as a no cold cooling zone will half so obviously what we hope is that when a trader genuine all season I call color stick they won't know that's the idea of the stickers that's what it tells them today however we know the trade as you know if they are ups and I get a lot of the time they will still not so the idea of the scheme is really to empower the residents to give them the confidence to say no and to know who to report it to how to report in to us and to report in timely as well so if someone does not we can make our way out here and hopefully catch them breaking the law and also you can have enforcement patrols as well as you guys they through police and training standards in m m Market Call Yes So we we do regular patrols throughout the county anyway but we are going to make me more effort to try and come to these designated zones especially within the 1st of 6 to 12 months just to make sure the scheme is working in that it's worthwhile for residents in that it's doing what we hope it will finally just some advice really because you know one lady mentioned about having cleared and that was on offer to her there's a lot of people especially with the wind as you can hear my script with the wind at the moment all the leaves a full name I actually think you know I do need my guttering cleared up the ladder any more and actually it's quite timely What advice would you give to people if it is someone knocking on the door is a definite no no absolutely genuine businesses do not need to cold call if you've ever tried to get a quote from a builder within a few days it just doesn't happen that too busy if anybody is looking to have worked on 1st of all we would say get 3 quites speak to family members to friends who have had work done for accommodation but also use our buy with confidence skiing so that's a list of traders the Trading Standards of order to it so that we can be as sure as we possibly can that they are above board so please use that bar with confidence game take your time to make the decision about who you want to fix their house. Thank you have so much for explaining that to us this morning and it's clear to see seeing these residents chat behind me now that if there was a scam or a cold call or a bogus well meant arriving at what we get out pretty quick here are. Really interesting here is idea I wonder if other communities will follow common dynes lead and become no cold calling zones you know I was in a I was in a cafe last week I was just having a cup of coffee and a chap walked in and he walked in and he goes carrying this big bag and he said you can take away coffees and the girls that went well well yeah we can do you take away coffees at all that's interesting Have a look at these cups that I felt at last night's opening and you know I sat there drinking my cup of coffee he did the whole thing did he go away with a cup of coffee did he heck it's like. I suppose the thing is what you really need you need the same cold calling zone on your phone your mobile your landline and your computer certainly. The radio station on your radio and not speak on b.b.c. . Radio call. Cools news out of our past 8 I'm Martin sure the Liberal Democrat leader Gerry Swinson has told this program hers is the only party that can defeat the conservatives in Cornwall she accused the Tories of slashing funding to the county and said the Lib Dems have a 50000000000 pound fund to rebalance spending away from London and the southeast the former Tory deputy prime minister Lord has all time says he can't vote for his own party m.p. Election Lord has all time who voted to remain in Europe says voters should back the Lib Dems and independents who want to stop set. Research suggests only 80 shops in the u.k. In the Premier League football Aston Villa have climbed 2 places in the league up to 15 thole owing that 2 nil win over Newcastle villas 1st came from a well worked free kick by Cano who are one so good it drew the price of both his current manager didn't Smith and his former boss Steve Bruce who of course was managing Newcastle last night it was probably try to Graeme but color here has been doing that for a long time for all the leagues he's got great delivery and great great set piece take a foursome was good finish Aston Villa were great either in that you know the games hinged on the 1st goal set piece corner which you have seen too many times we look at it as something we can do better of course than we have a analyze it and see if we couldn't even that Champions League is returning today and it will be Joe same Arrhenius 1st home game as Spurs boss a win over a limb p.r. Course will send his side through to the knockout stages of the Champions League he's looking forward to the occasion many times I play that I felt envy of such strong passion and support being in the new stadium to watch sport as Newcastle and I felt that the relation between the fans in this and the team the pride for that new home and majesty city will qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League with a game to go if they avoid defeat at home to Shakhtar Donetsk now there's no Sergio a grove Laporte and son they are also on the sidelines but Pep Guardiola says he's happy with the way his side has coped so far you know when you when it's good when you know when is not good in general is I think I had the flu and then we are getting better when they read so we can see normal chances in few girls who. Radio just coming up to $835.00 at the most but with Martin Bailey just off to one . Slow moving traffic heading in both directions. Works. To the True for. This morning heading east. 305 a reporter pretty much wrote works in that area delays can be expected. Very busy traffic in both directions on. The. Bridge around the ferry point. If you will travel about. 103. B.b.c. Radio Cornwall duty and Janes it's breakfast. For the morning Kevin Thomas along with the forecast in around 10 minutes time but 1st at the time it's 836 that's cost nearly an hour to talk to real Paulson's Good morning to rub. Now it's been a very difficult time in years and hasn't over over the last couple of weeks you weren't able to join us last week just maybe reflect on how things are in the town . Of somebody who wants very. Devastated such a tragic incident but it but significance wouldn't think about what harm is going through the Levy family when we know them well. As to how it's been hard for everyone it's been hard for the staff that want to say that that's nothing compared to the loss of such a lovely lovely chap as Caller Yes we might have just for those people who maybe haven't been around lately which Oking about the tragic death of. Mostly in an industrial incident on board one of the vessels presumably the authorities investigating now it is that they that the toes. Of the action haven't been released so I would ask everyone really to respect the investigation it's ongoing with them to call police then the Health and Safety Executive and hopefully we'll have answers but these things on time so. To say people respect that investigation to try to refrain from opinions on social media sites always harder than the modern day we see been tough really tough but like you say it's how we feel is irrelevant compared to that but shocking devastation that the family had to go through just give me a sense of what Connor was likes of The New You knew him as one of the local local lads. Yes he was full of goon who was calling. Quite a lovely lovely boy. You know only just recently turned 23 was well loved by everyone well respected an apprentice bright future and just like I say tragic and that's what makes it even worse. Being such a lovely lovely guy and being so young when he's not in the industry as well I think you were on board the lifeboat when they went in to help bring his dad into the after aftermath so something this deeply affected the whole fishing community I imagine absolutes in some very somber but I spoke to stud Yes they and asked he was happy for me to actually continue with the race it's a pretty nice you know you know that's what it is work when you've got to you can't change these things and you've got to can't stop what has to happen so. I thank them for allowing me to do this but if they were counseling communication and such a lovely family they really are and our hearts go out to the but it takes time and and again today we. Literally have been very supportive. And it is hard I'd say that the day after and still now it's just print that got to be ripped out of it so it's going to take time but we will survive and of course condolences for all from all of us here to the family I mean moving on to other activities near Lynn what's it been like in terms of fishing Mary the last week or so. The fishermen of obsolete it's been hard because the weather as well and with what's going on that we've had so many agencies Well thank you for know it's moving on to daily business daily business has been huge the fact is we were working with the Health and Safety Executive. So let's cross hard for everyone because once all exposure has got nothing to hide but it you know it's you can't move on because the high service is still down here only yesterday and the creases daily which is what they have to do . The fishing has been. Taking over really with you know it seems strange if you like to walk in the ways a little bit because you see that day things are normal things start her going through something which is so large and so so sad but you know the my comment I've been doing well in the last week we had about 300 tonne of fish through the market and the market losses over nicely so it's hard to sort of measure that really and honestly day to day it is because you're so consumed with all that we have to ensure that we call it the glass Philocles and the safest cities for everyone so that they but we're having a look and this is something we're climbing quickly with a great cop lots for the public which is to restrict access to our boats he has to understand as best we can how the harbor can be the safest place to be because harbors wherever you go will always say that they are. Very close to danger or times but you don't realise it because you think yeah it's poachers needs to be highlighted so we do have some barriers coming in Oakland that's. Just to do until the contacts and control public control safety is improved so I would ask you just driving 1000 units for a look around us to stay way less you actually need to be here because the virus will start to limit access then the water being put in the heart and the water with tidying up as best we can as well because the weather's been quite interesting for us so there's bits all over the place so we need to in a way I feel like a bit of a father going it's about children's will it's hard to say what this place can go to our kids to be like that really could have it's been it's been hard you know which we're taught to move on to carry on with the day to day Rob thank you so much for joining us this morning on what must be quite difficult time for everybody in Union 841 on b.b.c. Radio come abroad 1st with Julie and James now the clock is ticking in another respect because if you want to vote in the general election and you haven't registered to vote yet you'd better get a move on because the deadline is midnight tonight if you want a postal blitz you'll need to do that by 5 o'clock health Irvine is from the Electoral Commission and is with us this morning morning Elsa Good morning any indication how many people may not be registered. Well from our research we know that up to 9000000 people across Great Britain are correctly registered to vote which is which is a significant number and we know that varies by the different factors play into that So if for example you're a young person only one of the one in 3 young people are not correctly registered to vote also people who've recently moved home people who rent privately these are all factors seem to suggest you might be less likely to be correctly registered and among those 9000000 is an assumption that even though they haven't had their polling called I'll be able to turn up to the polling station and cast my vote I think there is some of that we see that each election so I think that's why it's really important if you haven't had a poll card if you've recently moved he's not registered before get online for the Gulf but u.k. Web site get your application in before midnight tonight so what you actually have to do you talking about points to that Web site how much detail do you need to import it's a really straightforward process will take us in 5 minutes all you need is your address birth and national insurance number ask you for all these details to submit your application like that it really is easy is that what about proxy votes international votes as well yes so if you're living overseas you can be registered to vote dress for your last living in the u.k. And you can apply to by proxy you need to dial to form again from the Gulf website and you've got until 5 pm on the 4th of December to get that back to cancel and that they mean that your proxy the person that you trust to vote on your behalf can cast a vote on the 12th of December looking at registrations that have already happened there's plenty of talk in the papers and elsewhere about a surgeon and younger voters registering a you saying that yeah we're seeing a really high number of applications since the election was confirmed with over 3000000 applications to register being made a significant proportion of those are from younger people which given the one and 3 are correct we are actually currently that is a very positive thing to see now it's always been a pretty brisk election in terms of the timetabling 12 December the national vote has 3 more pressure on the whole electoral process for you. I think it is always difficult delivering an election at short notice but I think people ourselves and the local councils who are running the poll on the ground we all have contingency plans in place so that we're ready to respond quickly if we noticed in short notice we knew what we needed to do and they were just focusing on putting those funds into place making sure that polling stations and everything set up and ready to go the postal vote deadline as I mentioned 5 o'clock this evening to do more more people postal vote. It is quite popular across the u.k. I think over it I think 15 percent of people across the u.k. Registered to vote by polls so it's something that the people do you some people find it convenient they are going to be away are not able to get the point station again yet you think 5 o'clock tonight if you think you're not going to be able to get people information on the 12th of December then will the form sign it get it back to work and my. Excellent thank you very much for being with us of and there from the electoral commission I can't get over that opening figure she mentioned about potentially 9000000 legal aren't registered Yeah that's an incredible figure that is an incredible but I can also see the point that she mentioned that people who are in private rented accommodation may be moving quite frequently you can get a bit lost when you change address frequently in terms of am I registered for that is my car driving license at the right address you know if you'll moving every 6 months or year old so it's sometimes hard to keep a lid on it all the time are all big 0 to call it is $845.00. Gloomy and a bit brain. Easy this morning Kevin our dirty window I think is just compounding the problem is it yeah I went out cycle I do believe that. We need a shammy in a bucket but I mean I know went outside and sure enough there were some flicks a blue helmet skull that's encouraging it oh yeah we've also had a message for you from Graham in pop bottom who says Can you tell Kevin I just sort died in a blue spot in the sky it stayed there for any a couple of minutes but it was there maybe some reassurance my my challenge to Naomi is still there and hopefully that we appear to publish soon to verify this account is not completely the case so that things improve in the area of cloud and rain it's been affecting us through the small hours of the morning still affecting parts of east cold the rain is patchy but it's quite a gray murky sort of start for eastern parts this morning but the good news is that is clearing away eastwards and at the same ties being replaced by rather thin a cloud in the cloud is actually breaking so should last some sunny periods through going into the later part of the morning however there's always a however there will be some showers and some of the showers coming through from the Southwest could be heavy although some places may miss them and stay generally dry the other feature of the day will be the winds strong to go force se the winds have turned to the southwest still reaching severe go force at times in gusts especially to the west where already gusts have excess of 50 miles an hour have been reported at the hours a city the maximum temperature will be modest Well 11 to 14 the high today to 57 Fahrenheit and tonight although cloudy of this evening and that's because the area of low pressure the remains of x. Also fairly mild no lower than 8 Celsius 46 Fahrenheit and tomorrow the heavy shower of rain will ease and there will be further heavy blustery showers through the day a little brightness at times hopefully but it will be windy be fresh to strong western north westerly winds reaching up to gale perhaps of ego force to the West hand around parts of the coast the maximum to a little lower between $8.12 Celsius up to 54 Fahrenheit to pass a space station this evening the 1st rising at 725 in the south southwest it sets 5 minutes later in the east and the briefer pass at 1901 rising in the west southwest setting 2 minutes later in the same direction into our ports this morning all looking a bit gray and miserable especially further east somewhat brighter further west but the boss castle 1st of all South Southwest 7 to 8 the wind a moderate seen swell for miles of his ability 13 Celsius with drizzle sometimes sour sour 6 moderate since well the visibility there is slightly poor 3 miles 12 degrees and sightings of Mickey whales in the harbor and we have the whole I should .
