Russell hit. A medium ran on the. Not just broccoli. It is a Saturday morning that means it is the final challenge with next fifty five minutes or so of course some clues on from those clues you go to work the following a song off today show something today each and every Saturday and Sunday morning and when I'm at about across the West Country as I often am you tell me you enjoyed playing along so we keep doing it so today's final salute show got to number one in the U.K. Chance in one thousand nine hundred sixty six on the rights for the song was play in the bring it all back home LP along with Frank Sinatra and glam Milla back when he wrote this song. And usual makes isn't it. And what he saw. Revealed. What. Was. Going. If you could help Diana Ross and give you the answer. On the back of a stump addressed envelope. And if you think you know the answer to the final challenge we'll keep listening or will be revealed. In the one in the charts in one thousand nine hundred sixty six. To be joined by members of the kings who play as they got a big production on tonight it is also some set carnivals which is stopping tonight . We're going to find out more about that by Mr carnival him self and the Bennett also a member of the clueless family and of course clear despite tomorrow from ten o'clock and Kevin Up next well we're going to talk about Henry the eighth which is only. After this from David Gray. A wonderful relaxed. Dreamy Saturday morning. Or do you look at the unseen chains of Davey Grace tickle some Phil Collins an edge into come that today is the last chance for you to see live in spirit perform in the six was a pen mediate at the Woodrow theater no market but the good news is from this Monday we're going to the theater shop in Cleveland and the team members sponsible of the show join me this morning yes yes that is us hi. What's it feel to be the stars of the show well we're very used to it now I mean you know yeah you know we like water off a duck's back to raspiness when the stars in our own show that we. Would be difficult for anybody else to be to show the stuff through is through you know it the only reason we're the stars because Howard for the benefit listeners looks a lot like Henry the Eighth and I don't really looking the wives but I'm playing them all regardless you look a little bit likely the ugly one but I don't do either of you get a little bit star struck when you see each other I sometimes do when I see Howard he's been on the National Lottery out there he will have you know when you're playing the man with his head banging and you know I was five years I was the face of the National Lottery You know Marty and I was you know I was in a walker's commercial really you know when that you know the dancing farmers Yeah yeah I was one of them so I mean you get free crisps for life unfortunate but you get to be Gary Lineker Oh and you once got confused by one of our audience members as someone who'd been off midsummer murder but you actually haven't been told that some of you were the only actors the whole bit on the truth I was in show yes True Blood Bryan Lucas literally says he was one absolutely concerned for sure claim to fame then how would I don't know I don't have what you claim to fame the fact that you know Steve I am sure you will see you've mixed up their motives for what you've done there. No my claim to fame is well I've been in lots of stuff I mostly get cut I also am Gotland I claim to fame is I get to perform alongside this chap every night and he's the most famous of the song Pretty much yeah I can like I'm not going to argue with that hasn't been in the wardrobe pretty when you see The Last night tonight it's such really such a lovely thing it's such a lovely theater and they just make you feel so welcome you know and it's like really cool part time in the amazing bar and stuff so yeah yeah we absolutely loved it and we're looking forward to coming back another time you know wonderful is a beautiful spirit as well purpose spill and as you said it's got a lovely bar at the front and it really has so look we do Benita the whole area of Obama saying is it is it still is are a very trendy area now and not only I mean we think right in doing so you certainly do yeah we like the hipster jewel in the histogram Yeah very much so but from this Monday of course you're going to be at the theater shopping people which is quite personal team as well as now yeah well it's kind of what we kind of said you know did we have with you know with amazing people if it's wrought yet and so yeah we about three years ago we converted a shop you know in Cleveland town center into a little ninety seater theater space. With a bar upstairs I've just yet to indicate. Where it was yeah and so we get to do our shows there and we also have a brilliant season and other shows to come in and do stuff so what's brilliant is that for the first time in my life I can walk to work I love playing you know if you live in Cleveland it's a beautiful place to live it's you and certainly it's wonderful Yeah a stroll along the pier walk along Front Why don't be in the Marine lake all your work for is lovely Yeah it is here on a hot summer's day that's the first thing I do is head down to cleat and jump in the Marine lake and then they pop to the pub and have a little libation is that it is it really I know so many of them are all the time not what I meant I'm an outdoor swimmer I see my. Every single day I'm a connection yeah you know when gents. Oh it's good for your health it was very you story in the couple of weeks ago that swimming outdoors in the cold is good for you how Yeah right yeah I never have a cold I love it feel a bit left out but I would never swim in the cold when you know because it's cold which is jump in you know overcome your fears to be that is not true is it really I've seen you up in no swimming in the rain blaring like yeah I only go it's very warm in the summer but it is beautiful and yes irrespective of the time of year it's gorgeous it's not going to have a clique tonight I come to Cleveland it's gorgeous I think I want to go I want to go now actually yes let's go let's go to yeah why not jump in you know what about the weather this radio a lot less well good we've got to talk about him really a guess you left only because it was you did it five years ago and you brought it back in public demand Yeah well Billy in the absence of any better ideas yeah you know we did and we've done about twelve shows now since we made him in the eighth so we've picked up a lot of was a place you could call fans along the way and they've said we've seen them all now except Henry the Eighth when he bring it back so we thought we'd better bring it to to say to their designers some of them I mean when we talk about designers you know I mean you know we're quite popular amongst the middle aged ladies on the summer what can you say what do you think the charm is there not of yourselves but of the actual production it's a good question. Is what do you think about of years we still don't know because if we knew we do we recreate you know the show but we haven't noticed a joke and I don't know what it is actually you know it was we wrote it from a very kind of innocent place we didn't really know what we were doing when we wrote all those years ago when we actually did think that we would ever after performing so we went as a thinking about it being an actual show we just did it to make each other laugh a movie and then we we sort of been able to put it on so so yeah I don't know you know what he is really a kind of naive charm I should imagine. With some top ten facts. You and the . That is chosen by my guess a small and I would also use you that's one of my fave Yeah it was about the shop where you are so much it's the kind of deadpan delivery delivery Yeah that's what I love about it and the electronic beats you know there's a guy in the background or just plays the keyboard and nails at the front giving it all the you know performance and in many ways Stuart looks just like Neil Tennant from the pet shop and we should do we should use an actual story of the Paschal you know what it's such a beautiful but I didn't write enough. Before but the moment you're too busy to to even create a show about the Pet Shop Boys all Henry eight is all about this one about him yeah yeah yeah all of you learned about him he should be right in the shoes of many many things multi-well my favorite fact is that he used to enjoy doing a brewery. That is true and yet seen in the show it's actually a real fact his new mine is that he he had a big old certainly styling tools in the one which needed to be drained on a daily basis into a bucket Oh quite a gruesome fact but a true one because people feel you think he died of like gags or somebody didn't he actually died of this festering horrible festering gangrenous also called very subject. Trade that almost all you know you do this is in the show it is much more factual than people think this show actually you know he's his fifth wife Kathy wife one fifth wife Katherine how it was only seventeen years old when she was decapitated so he on usenet it's pretty easy yeah he was fifty and pretty nasty but . You can blame the philandering Yeah what else he wasn't supposed to be the kid he's an interesting how this is a thought I like yes the greatest moment of of our British were the ones that will ever really supposed to be the moment. We know it all right Queen shouldn't you know she has the daughter of the second son. And then Henry the Eighth he's elder brother often dilate so that's how he became King and Queen Elizabeth obviously her younger brother half brother Edward the sixth here so it's interesting how the greatest the greatest you know the moments that we think of we're supposed to be really. As a whole know the show for another home of the time and I think the next morning to me I don't know know Lebanon's or some of this is going to come in at the last minute. Phone Rembrandts phone ringing over there. Probably the banker on the phone . With This is going to a wonderful show it's full of laughs It's full of surprises as well and for the question changes are so much for me I've got several Yeah I've got about six dresses I also play he's Diane and he's the Archbishop of Canterbury so different costumes for all those things the wings are just littered with dresses and jeans and stuff so we're really waiting city. Know that's how I see the next show function much more how in our next show I will be working with you know Christmas time Christmas time yeah to my own version of the Nativity it's too early to talk about Christmas certainly coming back in December you know me what about jokes but tonight you can see for the final time of the wardrobe theatre no market on them from Monday all the way through to I think next Saturday you're going to. Say all well enjoy and have fun thank you very much. C.B.C. Some of these you. Got some more clues for you coming up for the final solution. A song that got to number one in the a chance in one thousand nine hundred sixty seems. To A. Server Yes the final. Call to number one in the U.K. Charts in one thousand nine hundred sixty six. The words of the song was playing a whole mixture of music at the time he wrote the song. And the bring it all back. Along with Frank Sinatra. As well. It's from the album Face to face and the sun was made very quick in fact it was made in just Will morning the lead singer said it was one of the most exceptions he'd ever been part of he said it was wonderful and he still got tapes of the few minutes before the final take took place. And still to this day on the B. Side to the single was on not like anybody else will. Be. In a round about thirty minutes from nine. Eleven. Clearly Going. And there are a Phil Collins and Philip baby these eleven for one easy lover to another so yeah. I knew that was coming I thought yes he's going to do a radio joke the rumors are not true about me being an easy lover Well I'm not not really assault with a farmer's wife tells me I know I know we've both had a drink OK How are you Martin I want very good days total to my it's no he's talking carnival It is the one with the fall you know those four in the south Somerset circuit and we've had Wellington we've had only so we've had charge and now tonight and then whoever wins tonight will determine who's won the main point to go into the main carnival on Saturday a fourth of November which is Bridgewater So it is so hotting up now I mean in carnival terms we've got about I think. Forty five maybe fifty odd entries coming to Taunton tonight it's always the biggest out of the four because it's the county town of Somerset it's a big old long route lots of people packed the area I mean it's thousands of people do you normally get about ten to fifteen thousand on a south Somerset County so we've got about fifteen to twenty I didn't realize it was a competition going on the oh yeah course yes competition because if you're ever category you win if you're in a walking group if you're in a dance group if you're a Tablo which is one of the can't stand still or you might be a feature ones that dance around each of those are separately judged so the features all working to try and beat each other and trying win the top honors the tabloids do the same you know there's not as many big carts as there used to be go back twenty years ago there's probably three times the amount of conflict into one kind of all but that's just a sign of the times but everyone that enters is always in competition with someone and everyone is looking for that top prize on the night because they really do go over to both to make it spectacularly what they do it is a it's a it's a big competition it's so competitive I mean put it this way Martin if you spend all year working on something then you are going to give it your all and on the night you know the competition the actual fear of wanting to win is unbelievable because in the back of your mind you're always thinking I've spent or year fundraising building every spare minute every weekend on building my candle float a making a costume it is a year round hobby so on that night when it's make or break something sort takes over you and you just you just give it your all and the competitive nature it's a friendly competitive nature but there is a there is a fierce rivalry amongst people that take part lovely So it's torn isn't the place to be tonight then but safety very much at the heart of everything you're doing it is I mean it always is in carnival you know safety is always paramount there are very strict guidelines to what you can build to and how you work when on the road and ever so more now tonight at Taunton because of the instance of seven days. You go in charge of the Fortune one of the club members of one of the carts actually going under the wheels of one of the big floats and she's still up there in South me Hospital being being looked after so of course there's a slightly different feel to the carnival tonight in that all the clubs that are involved have had meetings throughout the week they've met with the police and they've made sure that this over instant doesn't owe hopefully doesn't happen again so the clubs the ground crews about meetings to make sure their health and safety procedures are up together there's going to be special barriers put along certain parts of the cart just to make sure that you do try minimise any problems because it was an awful accident last weekend a child but it was just an accident and statistically kind of we still were the safest hobbies to be in because it is so well police and it's so well looked into as far as health and safety go so they've just upped their game a little bit more but it's still going to be a fantastic night because it's torn can of all of us we're getting so close now to the Bridgewater circuit so we have Taunton tonight there's a break then for two weeks where everyone just puts the finishing touches to their carts and then all the Bridgewater Midsummer's that comes join in and then in it's a fortnight of Bridgewater they'll be fifty sixty old carts making their way around Somerset for most of November until the nineteenth so it's a big old season if you and if you're in kind of like I am it's the best time of the year I mean it beats Christmas you know it's your birthday it is an absolutely brilliant thing to be and you love it don't you I do I don't know why I don't know why I do it's a strange thing because it can it was a funny thing is you you either you want to get it or you don't and if you don't get it and you just want to go and watch it and enjoy it for when it is and then that's fine if your window of Carnival is only a couple of weeks in November and you go to a couple where you enjoy it that's fine but if you if you if you're bitten by the bug you work on it all year round you have meetings all year round and I mean you have a meeting every Sunday night you will fundraise you work at Glastonbury festival you work at Steam rallies you know you'll be shocked. Routing events to raise your money because these carts can cost anything up to you know some cops to spend forty fifty grand on that it's an absolute four time job and it will take over your life you know I've seen grown men cry their eyes out if the car isn't finished if they spent all year and the light bulbs don't work on the night I've seen grown men break down in tears because they feel that strongly about it and so it's one of those things you you're either in it or you're not you know if you want to get it or you don't but it's it's so exciting around Somerset at the moment because so much is going on every rumor is about what pubs are doing and you have rumors about different clubs doing the lighting in different clubs doing movement because if you are one of the big clubs in Bridgewater then every year you need to better yourself every year you need to raise that bar a bit more and from what I've heard there is some good stuff coming to the town in a couple of weeks so if it is it really exciting time or have fun tonight it's going to be also more than clueless into my recluse thing tomorrow so I've got a sort of late night I'm taking some pictures for so sure I'm doing a bit of filming for the old media you know like we do MARTIN And then tomorrow morning I'm back in the back of the cab with James don't quite know where we're starting I don't check my email so I was going to be a bit surprised that well you're the man of the massacres and told me he doesn't know himself let's be home nations here and get a clue. And a bit of a controversial And then last week there was a way yeah I know your fault for being away because you know it would have been sorted if you had been there but I claimed Somerset got there first but the trouble is you know Sasha's like she claimed at Bristol effort and it may have been just a complete coincidence we both arrived at the same time but myself and James are adamant that we arrived if anything is Richard for Richard sales he didn't put the microphone up early enough so we're blaming him so he like you could like the chicken that he is he he wouldn't call it he had to give it a draw he wouldn't he wouldn't call one to go to sleep in Markham you you have so I think we won but and Sasha was adamant she won so I don't think we're going to get round to I mean you. We've got it we've got a court hearing to sort this out you know we're up against the judge in a few weeks we'll find out why it was that I think this is only the second time in Clueless history this and it's second time in about about two years that we've that we've actually had a complete joy and that never happened so someone has to win and that was the agreement at the end of to morrow to morrow and one of us has to weigh what is going to be US So you say that you said to be paid off for what you are practice you will stay. As I write about you never forget. Great speech is a bit of Ed Sheeran what I photograph. Thing. Is the. Thing. We keep this love. Hard. Times for. Me and you. Can hear. . How you kiss me. Post. St here in New is supposed to the following. Week for me to come. Beautiful song there from the man of the moment Ed Sheeran photograph I could listen to that all day long what you need on a Saturday morning is a nice easy listening chilled out chain with a coffee maybe a paper and some entertaining radio as well so more clues for you for my final song was show a song got to number one in the U.K. Charts in one thousand nine hundred sixty six it's from the album Face to face and the B. Side to the single words are not like everybody else here's another clue for you. When the song hit number one in the U.K. Paper about rights by the Beatles. And what is the band it is a good one I'm looking forward to playing it for you here on the mountain I'm a show for SATURDAY MORNING coming up next and we joined by some members of the Kings will play is a softer this. It is eternal. I want to be the only one. It's. A wonderful thought there's so much to do across the West Country Today and in fact . There's something incredible going on but if you like a bit of I'm drawn then you need to get to Kings would the kings who plays I put on a show it's called I'll get my man I'm delighted Joe when Tom. From the show join me this morning morning has it been so far then good yes we get your final two shows today though yes you have a Saturday matinee and then the big show tonight yeah that's it ready to go now what are you going to do once the show's over. Well we get a week off and then we're back performing for well rehearsing for a general production Oh yeah well let me. Not this year own be something similar sort of more family or into a bit more fun but not necessarily panto going to look good punter Oh takes a lot of hand it does there's no yeah yeah sure you can have the below bit more in punter County you can but everyone needs to know what you're doing as well so they can come in on that. Time in their calf on who's important and told is quite an important new production I'll get my mom That's right yes it's a farce so it relies a lot and quick movement people coming again at the right I'm hearing that he say that it will moves pretty slick in the audience you know get a good laugh and they see people just missing each other or coincidences happening whom or do a good coincidence if you have any recently now or so coincidence neither of our make it up could you tell us about this tell us about the show there for those that don't know because it's not a well known production is a no we're sort of based in the sixty's and quite country vicar it around the vicar his sister and their T.V. Star our nephew comes to visit who. After. All hell breaks loose really while I know it all goes a bit downhill I suppose the communities are not used to having celebrities just descended on the mother I guess not because it's quite a stir among the ladies of the community are you one of the ladies I am one of the I am the lady Lady X. Tell us about your character so I'm going in for it Barrington Locke locals or rich with a character quite posh lives in the Grange. Very forthright. Overbearing possibly has it taken much to get into that character. And what is after all I'm playing the vicar who sort of quite forgetful quite sore of quiet character but also there's a bit of mystery if you say to him you know and always his sister no and if you want to she was side to you I like to say no but that would be like. I think we've all got a little mysterious side to us some way we're wonderful Well it sounds like a really intriguing production and the kings were plays they were wonderful production companies where they put some very good professional productions I know when me and sash I've been out for clueless in the past often will pop by and will go into the kings who plays in because you base thinking that I was right yeah I'm up on some wonderful productions and they'll come out with their amazing course stream so you put a lot of effort into your show so you yeah there's a it's a really great team and there's so much that goes on behind the scenes that people might not necessarily realize just watching one of our productions you know We really pride ourselves on playing a lot of raw Hasso and F.A. Even though it may not be for three shows and you know it's just a community kings that think that we pride ourselves on being professional and am really trying to give people value for money yeah and it's very polished as well. Yeah yeah like say We pride ourselves on getting it right and we you know we know people pay to come and see us that we want to make sure we do the best for them oh lovely what you think the best thing about this show THEM for people who have never seen it before. It's very easy. It says. It's just a good law for round to get right to spend an evening it's something for everyone it's not a deep thinking difficult play it's just a good fun evening or afternoon on the people who are kings and I really do appreciate good theatre as well don't I yeah. We've always managed the good crowd in like you say. We always try to provide good performance to keep people happy so lovely water now is like a lost child to see all get my man by the kings were players you want the matinee on the softer me more times up. To thirty lovely all the dentists favorite time of the day and evening performance. At seven thirty lovely and there's still a few limited tickets available yeah yeah they're still selling well but there are still a few tickets right wonderful Have fun today thanks for joining me it sounds like a great production keep up the good work as well I think I met lovely and that's tonight on the softening the Canes were players and it's where at the Kings a community association get along here previously on clueless. I was stunned to find a I said I saw. The radio Bristol and someone said Why did you say we had to guide so why did you say that. And so it's a sold say said beat. You to the spike it should be filmed there is no reason you can't can you bring in every week. Radio stations to teams in wandering around Joe now so you see WAY less with Richard Lewis. Sunday morning from ten B.B.C. Radio Bristol and B.B.C. Somerset and I'll be back tomorrow from ten with Emily as we take on James and I'm the we still don't know where to start and yet the money in the mask hasn't told me keep. It closely regarded as a secret but it is a serious weapon said number one of full you sold the clue she moved us all unless he can win let's try and get B.B.C. Radio Bristol on a level playing field with B.B.C. Some say it was still just a little bit at. The final Some of the show is only the way. To number one in the U.K. One final song to play for you. If you guessed it was this from the king salute you want congratulations. What hope is going to be later today Sunday The U.K. Is facing gale force winds and disruption from Storm Brian gusts of up to seventy miles an hour predicted in the coming hours with full cost as warning of the potential for flooding power cuts and transport disruption strong wind warnings are in place across much of Russian including Wales South England and in the Midlands and event to help young.
