Given all that is yet gone. I don't know why you would say I knew you could say something I thought if you were absolutely right I never used to have to get 21 now so it's all about what it used to happen something really I feel like you know when your mom and dad used to make noises they go up stairs and yes this is exactly what's happening to me I'm making noises now just standing awful sitting down it's terrible Could you try and not do that through the weather that's all right with your hands or my back. In with the heroes of London Bridge says the on I what else he writes of London Bridge same headline in the sun they have a picture of the police marksman who of course shot the terrorist dead on scene and also on The Daily Telegraph this is quite chilling photo this is just a member of the public who of course many members of the public intervened to try and stop the incident who picked up the knife that was involved and then you know basically try to get away and get out the way and they have a picture of that gentleman on the front page of The Times says the terrorist was wearing a tag knifeman in fake suicide belt kills 2 police shoot him dead ofter public heroics we will keep you up to date with that fast moving story learning much more detail about the terrorist themselves and events of what happened so do stay with us here a b.b.c. Radio box at the Paralympian and Dickins joining me very shortly all you need to know about when to wonder Will is this is a huge event happening down there at Dorney Lake 1st though shall we say good morning to initiate and Roach morning good morning a Oh you say get focused and you know it's such treacherous driving conditions out there I mean he doesn't need a reason to be treacherous this is one a little bit nervous about it over the folk lifestyle streetlights that might be a struggle let's let's let you know where they are be I do because I do get to drive around a lot for the breakfast show oh there you go I mean that's you this is a risk conversation you need to be telling him well a car off air Ok I think that the job isn't all that it's no longer making noises it was making strange noises squeaking Brady has what he's been doing to that poor old van owner so he writes fix this fine I think. Stern or something does of you lap matter that's what she's been doing Listen Actually it's not me in the van I've been reading the news this week it's been out about with the team on the election broadcast. Find out what your. You all the people want to be your politicians yes say on all major issues listen back online did you say receipt sort of like being here in the war had a cup of tea I bet you did I was but I didn't have to wear gloves I wore skirts. She got legs out I mean honestly that is dedication Laughs I was so rested last night I stayed up to watch the grey Norton Show where I heard the sound it was empty and I think Crowe thought in botching I'm a g.p. Receptionist This was many many years ago when I was single I met this guy who was really really nice really liked him so i asked me out on a date we went to this really nice restaurant and it was all going well we were getting our on and we finished the main course is very good and then he said Oh I'm sorry I said I don't feel very well the next minute he threw up everything all on his plight and I just thought oh my God we looked at each other and I could see the weight just coming over. So I got my not can I just put it over the plate and covered it up and she came she was asked she said no would you like to serve. In the bill please God. Forbid you day I tell you how well he was only or thought all day and in the red chair on the great Graham Norton Show telling a story that you think the Clintons who were on the show not it's ridiculous so I join me all over but we've got 2 things we're trying to track down Angie So all we know is that you are in a g.p. Surgery and quote growth on but if you're listening to show or know and you get to give us a call we get anywhere near close on we could knock on a few doors none where we know about to tell you where in a minute but the only other thing I want to say is going to do you do in that situation your day is ill. You know not too pleasant I think I probably would have just left you would do what you want do you mean said he had a date like that and he just left what you know well I had a very unfortunate day myself so I'm not being very fair I had a date where I started seeing somebody and it was our 1st date and we went to the cinema and he was you know he was like this Chiz old man. No disrespect to my husband he was once chancellor. And we went for pizza and I bit into this really hot pizza and then it stuck to my chin and burned my lips she got this sort of place to change and I was screaming and the people in the restaurant trying to put my chin out with what. I was really I still got a little bit of the scar actually from the pizza Did you see his old man again never my son and I But you what would you do Roach I think I would help them. I was just you know you know this is what I would do I try and make sure they felt much better yeah I want to go get them some water and yeah you know see they threw up on the play cards so I mean surely you got not really want to rush to the exactly and also because I just say if they're not comfortable on the date to do that what's going to happen once you get in your flow of being in a relationship I want to know where the table was at the side of the restaurant or right in the middle of the restaurant and everyone else around you you. See so many questions like why we need Angela's chair and you to give us a call please oh it's a way it's 105100 I'm so sorry for what your. Weight 105-1100 so where are you off to for the peach when I hear you say where are we off to for the page where you're going to the playhouse gardens and. It's like there any fate that story I'm not going to excite unless I realise if there's food coffee Honestly I don't know I wish I wish I could say I just don't know but there are coffee places on the way I know that since I know the gods into one time for. Me to possibly say they're all for the preacher grace then and you preach on the airwaves from 9 o'clock would be welcoming another brand new team the way we talk to a Paralympian and Dickens my guess next. What's something you want to know that you. The window let's. The. Tom Jones theory of phonics on b.b.c. Radio Bank Show what else we got for you do a leap in excess and a bit of em people tick. There is a fabulous picture of my next guest on our Twitter feed at the moment at b.b.c. Barkha where in an incredible outfit that's all I'll say for now because the oral calling reveal itself as we chat tomorrow in Windsor there's a very special sporting event taking place with some incredible people involved it's called Winter Wonder wheels it's just it's just sent to test you on a Saturday morning all the W.'s there at Dorney Lake basically is an event where lots of people who are very in young people very disability coming together to show off their sporting talents I have a fantastic person to tell us a bit more about it Paralympic gold medalist and Dickens Good morning to you good morning now we're going to get to exactly what's happening down at the lake in a moment but we've got a set of bright your sporting prowess because it is an incredible journey 1st of all tell us about what you know your a vented how you got involved in it yeah I'm a park interest and for years previously I'd never been in a boat before and I just had a chance meeting with a games make actually London 2012 Olympics and when he found out about my injury about my weight leg he said Well have you ever tried kayaking I said I think you'd be perfect with your disability and we're trying to get a team together for Rio would you. Like to have a go and everything screamed in my head no I don't want to have a go I've never been in a boat but there was something exciting and something a challenge of finding something new and so I said yes and I tried out and at the beginning I was absolutely hopeless but now I really want to have a go and I got on the team with lots of help from lots of people lots of creativity lots of people really wanting me to do well and 4 years of really tough training and lots of dedication lots of doing things differently I ended up at Rio and oh my gosh on that day of the finals when I got a gold medal it was the most incredible day ever so you are putting in incredible lengths of training as you described also managing an injury tell us more about that. My injury I I had a back injury back in 2011 and it just goes to show how something really simple can change your life forever and I didn't do anything dramatic I wasn't blown up or didn't have a car accident all I did was bend forward and put my shoe on and went and my life turned upside down you know I struggle to ride my bike which is everything for me it was all about my friendships it was my community is what I did every day and suddenly I couldn't do that anymore and I felt very lost and I I felt a failure personally as well because as a physio I couldn't get better I couldn't get back on my bike and it's funny how when something disrupts your life it often opens another door if you've got the right opportunity in the right people around you to achieve that and I was just really lucky that some think kind of landed in front of me other people don't have that opportunity and sometimes they struggle with a disability to do the things that us every day people take for granted and yeah I think the only way I manage my disability was because these other doors had opened which enabled me to do new things to kind of unleash my superhero give me my superpowers you mention the word superhero because actually event we're talking about me adored. It's all about giving people a range of disabilities the opportunity to be those supporting superheroes just like you become yourself Well exactly I think everyone in a superpower but sometimes it's the environment we live in that stops us being able to participate and why can't everybody take part in sport you know sport itself isn't the barrier it's all the rules that people put around sport to prevent people from from being able to take part so in a canoe my leg doesn't matter but in a triathlon able bodied traffic on you have to you know lead will chair to take part you can't use a float to swim when I was in something like that the disability superhero series it's all about how can we make sure that everybody can unleash their super power everybody can take part because why not everyone can do sport it's just the rules around it which prevent us from taking part so you won't we're going to hear more about what's happening tomorrow and also look at more about your story as well my guests this morning power Olympian gold medalist from Rio more from a. Radio Paralympian and bacon is my guest this morning and been grumbling about me me nice this morning. That's a great I'm trying to get fit and healthy and in the gym a bit more doing that more heavy weights and they are creaking feel so heavy going up and down stairs well material Well sometimes people try too hard and always say it's not the exercise that makes you stronger it's the rest in between and it's about making that rest really purposeful So making sure that you eat right sleep right and most importantly stretching if you're doing lots of new activities the muscles can get tight which can put any caps on to knees which can make them a bit creaky going on downstairs so make sure you stretch Ok I'm taking this away stretch make sure I stretch you see you radio. B.b.c. Radio back whether Dan Downs has the weather for us good morning it's a cold start for us today temperatures close to 0 just below 0 in some parts of the county and also cause Mr Fog patches to contend with this morning quite dense in some parts that might well take a long while to clear to but away from that some swells of sunshine today the winds are mainly light but it will feel colder only around 6 or 7 degrees now by the sea the folks at least have cleared as the winds start to pick up a little and it will be quite cloudy into the night so temperatures not quite as low as they were last night getting down to around one or 2 degrees for many of us and just a chance to see a few spots a drizzle in the air with that thick cloud overnight tomorrow a breeze here on the whole today northeasterly wind blowing in will continue to make you feel quite cold again only around 6 or 7 degrees should be mostly fine and try that with some spells of sunshine although it will tend to be rather cloudy at times I suspect but by Monday after a very cold start once again temperatures as low as minus 2 or minus 3 a cold but fine dry sunny day 14 day outlooks on the website b.b.c. Doco the u.k. Slash radio parked. The radio about sports the sport this morning is with Tim Della running are trying to get back to winning ways today at the stadium against Wigan it's been an icy cold night but the underside all heating up and sure the game goes ahead Mark Bowen has several selection die lemmas should he play Chris Gunter or Andy years on ash right back to the persist with out of form strike a dog is only scored once in 15 games where it's a massive game but the manager tonight is. 6 points or even they weaken only 2 points behind reading and just inside the relegation zone the old adage just water 6 point games is also saying in my mind in that unless you know on must win games you know you have a must win game if it is going to last through the season you know you mean so. Pay for it and we treated the same as you did with leads a little bit different tactic we obviously of course but we would be no nor less if you like a detail going to plan and put it well in the w s l the reading women's team it drew $22.00 at Brighton Reading's equaliser came in in 1950 minutes of the game the early kick off in the Premier League Today's at St James's Park Newcastle against Manchester City the late game in Southampton against what 3rd down at St Mary's made header at home to barrow in the National League London Irish have to wait until tomorrow before they return to Premiership actually get Bristol down to Ashton Gate now in the cricket overnight England $39.00 for to a close after New Zealand made $375.00 in their 1st innings in the 2nd test and it's the most prestigious race meeting of the year at New Breed today the luck Brooks trophy goes at 3 o'clock Nicky Henderson's Ok corral well start as favorites but as just one of 400 some runners in the race he's got to wear the bat also with the great shots there where the base early they look a very good firm. P.c. Radio. Saturday mornings with. Thanks to. An Dickinson will have more on the Winter Wonder wills event happening at Dorney Lake tomorrow that the electric light will. On b.b.c. Radio. Sweet talking woman here on b.b.c. Radio show we got some says assistance and in excess coming your way before 9 o'clock and I guess what. Just strikes me that I don't think Mom knows that I've given her say music if you've never listen to the show at this point before basically my mom's muscled away on to the breakfast. Generally commenting on. Something that she's been watching on the t.v. This week it is I am a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here says she was watching them do one of those jungle trials where they got to eat something frankly disgusting to me some kind of insect or part of an animal that you would never normally eat and it's wrong. Minded my mom when she got into eating something that she didn't think how do I describe it she didn't realize what she was eating during her days training as a pediatric. Mom is on the show to tell us a little bit more in about 10 minutes time the moment we are in conversation with Dickens to morrow wins it becomes I'm to a very special sporting event with some reading credible people winter wonderland we don't wonder wheels they got changed into Christmas takes part Dorney Lake they're going to be lots of people lots of young people who are range of disabilities getting involved and showing off their sporting talents and just describe what will happen on the day on. It is an event for people with disabilities but it is a kind of fun event it's the focus is on the final event so everyone gets to dress up in their superhero costumes and it's been said by Marvel so we got to Spider-Man and lots of Captain America and everyone takes part in finding their way around the lake in whichever way they know they can achieve it so we have wheelchairs we have bicycles we have crutches you name it there's absolutely everything out there and then if you need help then there are sidekicks who are volunteers who can help you manage your way around the lake or support you with transport or whatever it is you need not only that we have the festive thing going on as well as her father Christmas we've got gingerbread making we've got a glitter station there's a snow machine there's even a choir so this is a really good way of setting off the festive season so be great to see as many people down there as possible I love that music next to the lake and people doing incredible sporting feat at the same time it's a beautiful place anyway. And to come and see some incredible sporting achievements happening as well I mean what's not to love about Winter Wonder Wales when is this happening or what time tomorrow morning there's events throughout the day there are different lengths of races so if you come down for 10 o'clock then things will be getting going but you won't be bored even if there's no racing going on because there's so many other things to entertain the whole family so yeah come down bring the family going grandma bring granddad and you should have a festive day and you can dress up if you want to please come dressed up for the Mary lots of tinsel Lots of as more you know as many superheroes as you can get into because it's all about the fun the fun of taking part in a sport event have you got an outfit I'm Black Widow tomorrow. So I'm looking forward to that because I've I've been Captain Marvel which was lovely except when I put the cost you more 1st of all as it did up front and it looked really odd because the pockets the back pockets were from me so I'm going to practice now to get make sure I get my costume on the right way round because I think it'll work better the right way round you got some good weather for it's going to be cold to wrap up but drawing which is what's going on right Riyad can't wait so make sure you head on down from 10 o'clock don't need a ticket just turn I know just turn up and there's parking so you don't need to worry about transport or anything and yeah just come along leave a bit of extra time though because of Penn where which direction you're coming from of course and foreclosure will mean that you might have to leave a bit of extra time to get on down there before you go what we do every Sunday morning with everyone who comes in to see whether or not I can follow in your your footsteps now I have to say there are all the large footsteps today I'm not expecting to be a gold medalist at the limpid competition or 2 time world champion but just tell me what does it take to reach the level that you did frankly what kind of training all the training where it was amazing it was 6 days a week 23 sessions a day and it was things like doing press ups with 15 kilos on your back or chin ups with 10 kilos strapped around your waist and and there's one time in the gym I was working so hard and I was lying I think. Did our actually die and I knew I hadn't because I was still dribbling So yeah it's about having a focus it's about really wanting to achieve a goal but most of all is about having fun and I would've done it if it hadn't been a huge amount of fun and wonderful wonderful people and the ability to inspire people when you finished it's just great to see how many people go well if she can do it starting from nothing then maybe I can as well what do you do on days where for example you know I might do a long day here at b.b.c. Radio Boxer and then you get back and the last thing you want to do is you know continue with that training What did you do in that I think the main thing is to have it booked in if you go to any diary in and you've perhaps got someone along with you so a running buddy already empowered to come and together it's not necessarily about doing the gym session it's about the chitchat especially for us you enjoy talking and you can sort the world out while you're doing your gym session or going for a run and in fact in the beginning when I started running we only run further because we had so much to talk about that we ended up running for a whole hour at a time even though in the beginning we could only run for maybe what 5 minutes so it just goes to show that if you've got a community of support around you and you find it fun then it's amazing how much sport you can actually do to acquire high level Listen it's been a pleasure to speak to you they go on to keep going you've been through you don't. Like Us replaying that really you know that music that they do or movies when they kind of get to that point where you're succeeding that's probably what I should like instead I'm going to go within excesses that are out with it and think it will be there at the Winter Wonder Will's event Dawney like all kicking off from 10 o'clock head down if you. Today. The. Sea. And. Land. Sea. And. In a sense and need you tonight here on b.b.c. Radio. T.v. Minutes away from the peach press. Should say we had taken power limpy and in the she just want to say they were registering people for the winter wonder wills event came racing starts at 11 so if you came down as expected to show your support to wonder around all the festivities the stoles and you know here the choir and stuff kicks off from 11 o'clock or. You know I think I need some more people to write some lyrics to moms the. Producer Randy had to go with an impressive. So it is time for small. Banks weekly catch up each week we have a little bit something to normally end up watching a bit turning this week she's been captivated by things going on in the jungle yesterday the 1st time well I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here that they got rid of one of the celebrity and b.b.c. D.J.'s Adele unfortunately. Have been enjoying football in Iran on the show seems to rumble of people up the wrong white although I think actually they'd be misrepresenting the other thing that you've been doing that much wrong. With some smuggling of corn eaten. In the jungle and they've also been eating the usual right of horrible things like insects and parts of animals that we won't want to mention at this time in the morning anyway all of this got mum thinking about when she was jeep into eating a bit of meat that she would never ordinarily touch these were the times when she was training to be a pediatric. Yes ago there were shortage of nurses reaching way into and the Commonwealth countries inviting people to come and train inviting nurses to come over and so. So we trained in hearts and access General Hospital and he said mixed . Hospital we had Africanness cities with the new nesis we had nurses from Spain nurses from Australia and also it was a very happy place we enjoyed it but you know you had family that sometimes invited you out of the training center to come and have a lovely Mayo and this is when you ended up eating something a bit unusual So what was the invitation you know when you sort of nurses are of they want to do something different so being that you are alone in this country you know you sort of you're in your own nursing home and you what you know your little room and your little desk and so forth so when you're off and somebody invite you to go away from the nursing field you really are happy and you're so to really go for it so we're happy to go to London and of course going from Bishop's Stortford to London is coming to a big city my friend's boyfriend cooked because he cooked and sort of got everything ready so by the time we got there the food was ready and. This and wine and everything all setup and we talk to us how this man really knows how to entertain and we really enjoyed our food it was peanut butter soup very nice I would say chicken in it and what you call rice balls talk very very nice indeed and we really enjoyed it the only thing I can say about Pina see it's almost like think of the flavors of your favorite satay source made into a soup that's that's kind of the nearest thing yes and it's a Gagnon dish and moved. Finished eating we're sort of watching television and sort of started chatting and the chat eventually evolved around food than what we ate and we're sort of congress to retain him for being a very good cook and I was saying to my my friend were you having a problem when you're married because then he can cook you can cook said that that's all right so then he said to us well did you enjoy the food really was I did this is what I was sort of meat to do you think was a nice little chicken of course he said Are you sure it's chicken you say yes it was sticky he said Well I tell your story said I went to the wood chase and said I've got these beautiful girls coming to visit and I want to really treat them so what would you suggest and they just suggested rabbit so he came he called the rabbit and we ate it so when he said a rabbit I looked at my friend my friend looked at me and we didn't know who was going to do something faced and he looked at us and so what do you fasten about he said you get him in for a good 3 or 4 hours if you want get rid of it is already inside you and from that own their own words when I looked at any rabbit thought it through to myself or poor me or it in a rabbit. Can never forgive myself for it at their art so when I see them to know these things yes reminds me of the. Story Robert. Apologizing for it's a rabbit that is hilarious I can just see I know my uncle who actually did Not to my eye my aunt and my mom and I can just see the little kind of rice smile on his face busy if he had said what it was they definitely wouldn't be tonight at 8 minutes to 9 this is b.b.c. Radio about John pretty tatter here with you to mine and then of course Andrew be along for the peach quest so not only now for you to help in one of the search is that we've been trying to do this morning and that is can you for. Mind Angie from Crow thought I was Angie I live in Christ on inversion I'm a g.p. Receptionist This was many many years ago when I was single I met this guy who was really very nice really liked him so i asked me out on a date so we went to this really nice restaurant and it was all going well we got in all and we finished the main course is very good and then he said Oh sorry I said I don't feel very well the next minute he threw up everything all on his plight and I just thought oh my God we looked at each other and I could see the weight just coming up. So I got my not can I just put it over the plate and covered it up and as she came she she said how would you like to say thank you to the way I know the bill please. And he managed to get itself on the red chair at Graham Norton last night so basically this is where you get to tell a story and if it's great you walk if it's not great the chair flips up and you end up going flying do you know and do you know any more about this day tell me more please 08 so I 105100 if you texting it's bollocks to 8 triple 3 up to the song before the news on that a.b.c. Sarah Flint lives in Berfield and spent 35 years as a Met police officer she told us what it will be like at the scene today I would imagine it's obviously going to be very busy they'll be putting extra police officers on the streets to try and provide reassurance for members of the public and obviously the whole area around the bridge will be sealed off for some time for investigation into the crime scene the security minister Brandon Lewis wouldn't go into specifics about the case after any incident like this there has to be and always is a full review of the lessons learned exercise taken for we have to let the investigation complete itself 1st but what that will absolutely happen that also does tie him to this point or are we dealing with the sentences in a proper why and given senses that are properly appropriate for the most violent crimes b.b.c.
