You. 2 Coventry I'm worried I was saying we want to chat cricket because if you're thinking you have fancy playing a bit of cricket bowling I think with the weld cup that we've just had an England winning Ben Stokes the hero I think everyone's they don't mind playing cricket but like tennis when Wimbledon's on the T.V. Thing. Well if you are an 80 or a girl and fight any age of female variety then listen up because here is your chance to take part in a really fun special caging them potentially get involved with a cricket team find out more often. Rebecca. Again Matt and Lee I say our baby say Coventry. And I want to talk cricket because Lemington Cricket Club is having a very special coaching and fun day and it's all in 10 Avenue ground and this is for all girls in the hype really to encourage more girls to get into the sport and women and Head Start is all about it is what actually cricket I'm quite at complete cricket Beth and Alice on the fifteen's workshop at the MIT show mom and daughter G.I. Joe including mom Marie Borden He's the head of women's cricket and under 16 player daughter Laura Bowden Hello ladies had a loud so I asked a minute guy are you all professional cricketers No no no no you know it's different levels and let's start with you so you play for Warwickshire new coach That sounds pretty professional I mean wore a shirt and I mean it's not professional hoping to change things around a bit next year so become a little bit more professional but the mine and there were issues stuff is just on the side people have jobs people. I work. Do you have a stuff at same time but it's sort of we pay throughout the summer on the weekends and then train during the winter and is it a hope that maybe you might end up playing full time yeah hopefully that is the game say the C.B.I. Changing things around next year so they're hoping to bring in sort of semi fresh new contracts for extra stuff so hopefully we can build on by and then maybe one day have it all professional are counted overall amazing So how long have you been playing for I started when I was about 8 so I am 20 now so I've only been playing for she since I was 13 but a few years in is this something you thought I might actually be a professional cricketer one day when I was younger No I I just cry because I enjoyed it I never really thought about fresh know until a few years ago. Because at the moment it's just in the level there is fresh snow but now I've got a bit older is something that I would hope to maybe look to do in the future I mean yeah you can't get to England without kind of going through the county stuff so you're on the right track for England hey you know how did you end up getting into coaching. Well through like playing cricket I ended up being a lot of camps and training sessions and stuff so just 3 that are just met people and they've just asked me to sort of come along and how power stuff and then as I've got older looking for part time work and stuff it's just really good to. Sort of good to give back to the people that sort of coached you and then Good to see people improve City coach these girls here I think I have you know I've coached a few to them when they're younger and also you know. She's already really what I have read your right Abbi how long have you been playing for I started playing when I was around as well so I'm 15 ounces 7 years and then I started playing for war when I was about. 10 So yeah and what was it that made you decide to play cricket what I think when I was younger I went to a lot of my brother's cricket matches and sort of got bit bored out of there. I guess I thought I'd go and got a few lessons in the back garden from him and just went and I you better than him now know I was seeing Vega I'm a little bit competitive about 5 brothers and so I was always competing as the boys I'm always like come on you can be better than the boys you can do it. Maybe one day like Beth and you could end up doing this professionally. I mean it's not quite . Not really thinking about it yet really just enjoying playing Yeah and do you have a position that you like batsman or field or like what's your I think a ball but I prefer bowling so yeah they have a Spin get this spin in the I'd like sad never cricket I played others just saying to or played on the junior team and I think was but a place in fact actually I don't know if you can answer this ladies but my teacher asked me if I wanted to wear a box and I said I was you know I was. Because I don't think you need one of those. Well Marie I'd like to talk to you because I believe you came to cricket a little bit later I did a little bit late and I've probably been playing the shortest time of all of us so I've only been playing a couple of years. A little bit like hobby but I was watching my daughter play and try and I was getting a bit bored and I thought I might as well join in with this training and it grabbed me from there I really become addicted but I have been a lifelong cricket fan but only after watching until the last year OK And then you just thought I'm going to take the leap I did and how have you found that really exciting big challenge I'm not quite there yet with the bowling but I'm getting there I can i did bowling over on Sunday and a guy yes. I love it and how she keep fit as well and I've also started coaching the youngsters the 5 year olds as well right now things with my daughter and also challenge my husband who used to play cricket as well and I used to say he's not playing he's not playing now he's a pirate your shirt. Getting in there well we will come back to him and we need to chat to Laura as well for how she got into cricket or just get a quick song from Mabel and we'll find out about this very special day that is coming out that you could get involved with just tough to make a place to live I'll speak of people how to dance negative people sometimes think. It's actually such an amazing place to go the story radio but I think they need to be monitoring the ballpark you know while the bus like the planets were annoying because they go further but they go to the music. B.B.C. Korean War. I am. But a. Baby . When you. Can use it on any net love. And love. Michael Mad Love on B.B.C. Coventry and we're actually right now we are talking all about cricket because Lemington cricket club has got a very special day which we can talk about a moment a coaching day specifically for girls and women so you can learn a few skills maybe decide if you want to be a cricketer and I'm joined in the student in studio by Beth and Abby Marie and Laura which has been chatting about girls in cricket ready I'm afraid you're saying you've got converted to cricket a little bit later and terms of actually playing. What would you say to maybe an older lady he's thanking God like to play or you know get involved but maybe a bit nervous or never even thought of doing something like that before I think I'd say come along to your local club or one like cause that Lemington or like the special day we've got tomorrow you can start by playing softball you can go straight into hard ball book come along to an event like that or go to some training sessions at a local club and see what you think they're often taster sessions and you needn't be scary and it's a lot of fun but you know you're going to see what you think when you nervous when you 1st played I was a little bit yeah so I will say a little bit but not massively You know and to get injured sometimes you get the odd breeze if you get hit hit with a lot the ball. Yes I mean I'm sorry. It's coming at your pace is. So proper for our new love the breezes are so good no longer you play for the under 16 is that right under 70 understanding. How long have you been playing for a bit later than Beth and I think about 11 which is a bit late for girls but you know I just I never really found a sport that clicked for me we did sports at school but now of course you obviously because you don't tend to play that when you're a girl and then cricket really works for me and I just really fell in love with it yeah what is it that you love about it is the perfect balance between physical sport and more of a mental challenge because you get to play in a team but also be quite independent as a batter and and a bowler but it's not just playing with your friends and you know just having fun really well that's the wonderful thing about Spore is it is so say show isn't that . We're just saying off and you think lots of people started playing cricket because of the world carpet a bit more so over like Sean the game recently I think because the games have been more interesting recently people have started to be more gripped by the sport particularly the quicker games like T 20 and the final both women and men's have been pretty interesting so my friends at school have been coming up to me saying they watch the game which surprised me but it's really nice you did yeah interested . Girls what your friends say when they find out that you're playing cricket. I think a lot of them are surprised and a lot of them like if we have a play something and P. Think oh no this is so. Often they get into it a lot. Actually give this a go it's quite interesting yeah especially now it's faster like you said with a T 20 is it is we got our skills and then when they play cricket and you shot them do you like I'm pretty good at this that you. Say that but then what would you say is it is important for girls to get into cricket. For me I've just enjoyed it so so for other people to be able to enjoy it as well I think would be really good and like Marie said Oh you can just come down for a taster sessions just see if you like you bring your friends down I don't come on your own and hopefully get into it and I guess is it important if girls are coming into the sport that's going to help with it going professional and so having. Into the sport in general yeah definitely I think the increase our media. Attention of cricket in the last 2 years is definitely Houghton's been a massive spike in the number of girls actually playing and now you've got like the Super League on T.V. And being there and all the England games are on T.V. Now so there's definitely been an increase but hopefully we can just continue with and keep it growing keep the momentum going I mean these changes from to watch whatever it is that are said to you I'm going to watch the cricket tomorrow Australia was to but everyone gets quite dressed up for cricket was specially the Hollies edge for us then yeah you know it was like you know what's the best outfit you thing I saw. Was I think my brother is planning to wear an outfit tomorrow I think he's going as a as a bottle of beer on. Saturday I'm not where they were. So tell us about this event that's happening at Lymington Cricket Club so we have a women and girls cricket skills day tomorrow. 10 am till 3 we have over 20 people signed up already but still a few spaces left so if anyone's interested please turn up it would be sortable cricket skills and hard ball so it's available for complete beginners but also some people who've already played a little bit of cricket as well and will comment in the game at the end probably be able to better yeah I am in charge yeah definitely get some games that going. See what we've got in the morning and then put it into practice and is it for any specific age. I think I mean we've got for 11 to 2 of so any age and it should come down yet so I will go on as well so I will go through something and you girls take in parts more you know how you know we go yeah I was what with coaching ask us Why are you doing not going to get playing no maybe I want to thank you maybe maybe at the end save yourself a Sunday was happening on Sunday well probably cricket much. Probably what is that if it doesn't rain oh yeah very well that happened so here you playing rock rock Council. Away and it's probably quite a drive but yeah say the weather holds our hope it stays dry here and hopefully will stay dry for tomorrow as well so is that all in 10 after new and if people want to come do they need to sign up they can do all they can just turn up on the day doesn't matter if they want to sign up just speak to a complete cricket but if not you can just turn up to morrow. And if you have a cost 20 pounds 20 pounds for the day yeah and if people say oh actually I quite like this before I get quite into it could they then could that's all lead to the maybe joining a team we have on a Friday night in the summer and we now have winter training but on Friday night you coaching so we will help coach out the night the 5 to 8 year old. And also the 813 year olds so getting more girls involved is really nice to see as well as they don't we have more hardball girls so we're trying to develop the girls into playing hall ball like the boys are but yeah it's really nice to develop because take the boys on yeah and when you come on gals you can yeah so it's going to be an awful lot of fun ladies thank you so much for coming into the studio sharing your passion for this boy it's really nice to say thank you thank you. Because. You. All you. It's a giant. Rather than sack B.B.C. Coventry and more action was never a handsome boy says a lot bear a love for lacing them singing their songs back together once again Now still to come on play up we've got a lot to come we have a bit of an update of the football Lemington Bess's Brackley we got reports that we'll find out what's going on what the schools in the doors are Plus I'm very excited we are going to be getting a life hopefully that safe technology holds up we're going to going live to Ireland where the stuff from where it racecourse are doing an incredible challenge and they are running around every racecourse in Ireland in 3 days I'm talking about horse race courses so we'll find out started today how they're getting on Find out why on earth they would put themselves through this plane and agony and high flying it will be a bit of a laugh to find out where they're up to maybe go and cheer them on that's if you're an island in the next 3 days kind of unlikely but you never know. Thank you William millennium B.B.C. . Now in play out we're excited we're going live to Ireland because the staff from we're a race course are beginning an incredible challenge to run round every race course in Ireland in just 3 days there's a team of 4 of them around $26.00 racecourses completing a total running distance of $284.00 furlongs from a new That's $35.00 and a half miles along with 26 hours of driving today is day one of this attempt and I want and I want to do it is how they're going on because today is day one and live from oil and hopefully we were lays them because they are currently doing some of that driving we were raised cause a general manager Andre Klein in oil and hello you how are you are look I'm feeling good actually are in reasonable shape are today well sound very good how are they yeah well as they went over in term of the 20 perhaps we think it chips that maybe appear that this talk is about. 3 to 10 a bit tough for me not too many peers that in case tomorrow you don't feel like getting up to run again. Early starts tomorrow morning to go 7 o'clock 1st try ours about Mars it has been. So hideously no mystery very well to check that we've got to undertake to Morris we have a slide which is on the top top north west of the Republic of Ireland and we make our way through down the west coast through. The fall. Down to 6. Which will be running in Hollywood even in our consumer agenda people and if it's not run. Oh this is the bit we were worried about Miley's I'm sorry under we lost the from and then what we saw how far are you saying you going to be running tomorrow. Although it's the journey think we covered it 20 or kilometers I think we're around the same tomorrow running wise it's interesting running it doesn't but when you're jumping in and out of a car and just you know doing 2.25 ks it gets quite tricky I think it sounds very extraordinary and sounds tough and so are you kind of always running in relay or you all running at the same time we are all running at the same time I'm not going to say we're all running at the same pace. Taking our head back. A bit too modest to. Tell me our operations manager is being. A few years on the just being very generous running alongside me interrupting back in the last couple of me. Makes you feel good about myself as a team effort there at the end of the day and. To train for something like this well to be on a force which is not the London Marathon in April relatively good for and most everyone in the car is in reasonable shape from their various sporting activities we tried to do a little bit of training or we got up we did a. Couple of runs around racecourse and then we have a break and one of them were a waste of a break but I am worried racecourse. Just make sure you do stretches when you get out of the car and drink plenty of water. And. Just grin and bear it. For 20 minutes as you run around the track. To May I tell you what's interesting is the courses are different as you can expect . Because lovely people and the race courses been incredibly has been. The tracks so different. The highlight for me. Dan Patrick which is has to be undulating track in the world . And I think when I watch the races then I want to see the. Spectacle. What I'm looking at. Absolutely and the jockeys. Side of the saddle there is. A lovely race course. A lot of their office staff and ground staff will come out to welcome us no one has joined us on the lap. People why would I do you. Sort of threatening them they can turn up in trainers to go if I'm dressed to run around. There's always excuses like I'm pregnant or something like that. That's quite a good excuse. It sounds like a team around. You think its biggest challenge facing. I mean really it's a lot of time in the car but we're not facing the challenges really running. A charity called racing which is a Jockey Club charity. That charity supports people who are facing real hardship. So if anyone really has engaged in the racing they could be working the race was like. Or they could be driving around with a. Strange times. They say we're doing this just to raise awareness a. Person money is. Going to. Be a lot of fun with a real education. I was going to say there must have been a vase and why you yourself say that that's good it's for charity fundraising. Have you raised money so far was it not you going to do after the event we're doing as we go. Around $5000.00 pounds and we are creeping up towards that we got the promises when we complete the trip. When you look at the any contribution to. The industry to be not to. Be appreciated. In giving us think it is just giving just giving question that. Is just giving the. Race Course. Wonderful it sounds like the guys does. All the money going to a great cause and we just we have all the best for the next couple of days. Thanks very much. Great sponsorship flow to the. Brain which is creating it were some tough days track days after the races very calmly sponsored the transportation around for us. Is it going to be a pastor tonight. We've already identified on Trip Advisor a fish and chip shop about half and half. Going to have. And now I'm feeling hungry Yeah having done something to deserve it. You have you've run well. Good luck with the rest of your rice of course people can find just giving racing wealth for Warrick racecourse and they can make a donation to a great cause well. Thanks very much. And now. We managed to hold on to them and the reception for just long enough is great wonderful stuff that they are doing and being active tell you well get that roundup of what's going on in the football our update from Dave shoplifting to investors practically coming up next. Few. Weeks. Google. Plus I'm your gal friend on B.B.C. . And it is a fast night of the season for many of them. Tonight Lemington it taking on broccoli in the National League North Dave shop is there with the latest for us a half time how's it going it's going very well following some fanfare when the guy one mill haven't had it all their own way but they have a vital lead a header after 17 minutes from full back that way not sure what he was doing that far up the pitch but the ball was beautifully headed across the 6 yard box to him and he just gracefully not enter the net but open still and it looked like it was all crackly there knocking the ball around very very sweetly but not really getting anywhere just towards the end of the half lemons and could about a 2nd goal shot just going past the post but it's been a good heart so far for limits at times and of course that building on the decent draw away at the weekend too too dangerous Saturday so they can get the 3 points now. And what it amounted just 500 game as manager of limits and hollerin the manager will be very very pleased indeed one nil so far as I'm someone cracklin else will be very nice when it 500 is going to win it has a nice little symmetry that would really be the cherry on the cake wouldn't it a wooden A That basin feller is poor and been at the club nearly 10 years which is probably not mean all most managers have short lived a day so the club is stuck with a very thick in plenty of money $500.00 times and of course this is a local rival Raipur act with vs limits and so to win this one against that piece of rock we thought well that would really crown it off for but it is only one nail so I guess it's always a play for the 2nd half while it is because of the said Brockway really got most of the play in the 1st off without really threatening too much there was want a cite for the limited goalkeeper in the 1st 10 to 15 minutes but other than that I not really been that there's a visit a lot of possession but possession doesn't always win you football much Tolstoy moment in the got there there you go Well let's hope it's a nice exciting home often maybe a win for the 500th game might be nice but oh to play for it is and I'll be back porch on with hopefully the let me to find good news thanks Dave really appreciate our cats have a little bit later in the show I took in over some of the other half time schools across the past tonight's meeting united up against Coventry Spink suicidal 0 coming Coventry's thinks Flay 70 to Coventry United 0 so that's a drill going on that's a far off time racing Cup weren't one bonus and Michael's won another draw of that and another score of 5 and still this is rugby town a nettle at half time the 2nd hogs so much could happen everything could change we'll see how Lemington get all I'm in the 2nd half. A little bit lighter on the shy on the. Show with Tricia do the. Time you saw Landry in person he was lying on the ground and that was good shot Shadley shooting in U.S. History what's it like seeing looking and feeling wow just meeting up with him because he's just my eyes and I. The Season 9 on one wrong decision the board of Chelsea Football Club has apologised unreservedly after an independent report found young players were targeted for years by a prolific and manipulative sexual abuser the external review says the club's former chief scout Eddie Heath who died in 1903 grinned an abused young boys during the 1970 S. All some of those in authority tend to blind eye another found overwhelming evidence that young black players suffered racial abuse in the 1980 S. And ninety's Damien Winter says he was one of the victims of racial abuse and thinks this is a positive development there was no voice back then but a step Chelsea are taking and I'm confident in what I've read and while I've saying that there is going to bring an end to this but I don't think from what I've read on the report it's not just the players that will benefit from this is the whole fine place as well a 17 year old has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of a 6 year old boy at the Tate Modern not Gallery in London the child was allegedly thrown from a viewing platform on the 10th floor on Sunday landing on a wreath 5 stories below the B.B.C.'s Don Johnson reports we did learn a bit more in court today about the injuries the boy suffered in not fall when he landed on the lower roof of the gallery now we know that he has broken arms and legs he has a fractured spine and a bleed on his brain his condition is described as critical but stable the teenager will appear at the Old Bailey on Thursday dozens of residents in a double town who were told to leave their homes because if it is the dam will could collapse have been told they can now return crews pumping water from top progres of WA say they've now reduced the water level by more than. 9 meters the governments accuse the E.U.
