Very snowy. Concord now it's. Starting to drift again obviously not as bad as what it was a few weeks ago but it's still. It's not it's not good to and how big a problem a snow is for you presumably the livestock got to be kept in signed Yeah yeah we just finished climbing our 1st batch of shape and we've we have got a handful of using labs outside but the majority of them. Start climbing another batch of. About 2 weeks to all and I'm getting it slowly because of. The men. So. I'm very concerned for the welfare of the 2nd batch of used to do to start ramming 1st Michael and even when the snow clears presumably the ground is very very soggy It's unbelievable unbelievably well. Yeah I've never seen that quite is what is this is just you know it's. A lot of farmers now. And they just can't get the stock out because it won't be on the baby lambs to put them out in the weather like this so a lot of hard work when bad weather like this hits and I when we spoke to B.B.C. Coming tomorrow in the last bout of snow you said it was the worst snow for 40 years what's the financial impact on your business in your family when weather is like this well it's a big impact because obviously we're using more. You know some of you and if I follow for more. About the Future Me possible Pretty Little no way I've been to. My truth I would put the music you. See Coventry and. Now you know I love great music and I've got a very special Sunday selection for you on the way in the next 20 minutes of the program Her name is I had a white 2 featured a once before when I just got my hands on a single but now I've got hold of the album I'm bored is it good to have the pleasure of seeing a perform live on Thursday night in support of the poor traits of friends of the show absolutely brilliant artists both performing for charity called the Friends of Cali and charity which provides clean water education and health for the people of Cali and in Kenya and delighted to say that the brilliant gig which was tremendous great live music raised more than a 1000 pounds for that charity because I'd never seen how to perform live I was really really spellbound and thought I needed to share a little bit. More of her music with you already 2 people who spotted on Twitter that we're going to be playing a set or they've seen her at the big comfy bookshop in Coventry think she's terrific that's on the way the Sunday selection in about 20 minutes time. But a classic now. This is my car. See . You at. The at See me. Of Elton and Kiki this morning and yes I was singing but I kept my microphone down just to protect you is this morning so I need to inflict that on you at this time in the morning or frankly any time but there we'll now here's a question for you Do you think offering celibacy as a lifestyle choice would appeal to teenagers while the Church of England thinks so and is calling for sex education lessons in schools to encourage children to refrain from sex altogether the church also wants peoples to be taught the importance of trust loyalty and fidelity within relationships let's talk to the referee Mark Brown who's an associate fellow in medical ethics at Warrick medical school Good morning good morning what exactly is the Church of England proposing Well it needs that statement about celibacy needs to be seen in the context of that broader statement. And it says that. Relationship and sex education should teach that the versity of healthy relationships lifestyle choices and beliefs and schools must be given the flexibility to reflect their own ethos and value as well as at their local context do you think that's not happening at the moment I think it's. Not response to an absence. But really an opportunity to state what the church holds to be important. The church is very clear in the response to an important relationship in particular the important the relationship loyalty ready the delicacy and craft. And that within the context. All the relationships that we have. Abstinence from celibacy should be seen as positive lifestyle choices so they're not by affirming those 2 options denigrating the importance of sexual relationships just pointing out that. The way in which we negotiate our relationship takes a wide range of forms isn't sex education at school largely about practicalities and rightly so teaching children about contraception and about safe sex and about safeguarding the health if there's a limited amount of time does not have to take priority Well I don't think that the 2 mutually exclusive I mean there's a terribly important things to teach children but I think that children must mustn't be given the impression that sexuality can be reduced to the mechanics of sex and how one might practice safe sex. The school has a responsibility to treat the pupil as a whole person and that. Involves not only the physical dimensions of a pupil self but also the emotional and general General Welfare dimension but is it the school's job to be teaching morals and ethics to people Don't they have to find their own way well I don't think that children can be taught in a vacuum and I don't think that it's the school's job simply to deliver to pupils technical information about the subjects that they're taught or even sexuality. Teaching what children are taught is necessarily value laden. And I think the important thing is to be explicit about that rather than pretending that he's an orphan volved And I think at the end of the day what the church is saying is that we want children to live happy and fulfilled lives. And part of that is to enjoy the enduring and satisfying relationship but that requires a measure of maturity a measure of personal self-confidence and that's not something that simply dropped from the sky and how are you going to make this appealing to teenage is because teenage is very vulnerable to pay pressure and if students in peoples and friends at schools are saying we're all having sex we've had this experience whatever very often others follow suit is true and actually little surprised in the Church of England official response that there's no explicit mention made of online bullying and sexting all the other pressures that young people come on but you're right. Part of sex education should include making it clear to people that. That they're not obliged simply to capitulate to peer pressure the part of what it is to be self-confident and have that ability to say no actually I don't agree with what you're proposing to be able to stand up to peer pressure when you feel that what's being proposed ready. Militates against the values that you hold dear. Thank you so much for your perspective this morning and before you go where abouts are you this morning and how is the snow well. A pretty little village lying in between the Metropolitan baru ready balik hole in Coventry I know it well and how much snow if you got quite a bit it's a winter wonderland I can't see any traffic travelling along the road and road the car is covered with snow and God. Is covered as well. Commentry and Marshall travel Good morning David Moore How's it looking good morning Yeah well obviously the snow is the main thing to contend with this morning obviously got some very difficult driving conditions in places so obviously lots of care required just taking the cameras on the M 6 it is largely open if you hadn't for the motorway today it's largely open certainly in terms of 2 lanes in many places though the outside lane is snow covered and many of the main routes even as well as the other side routes are going to be very tricky a lot of traffic around at the moment so that does affect the effectiveness of the grip that they've been putting down during the course of the night we have got some problems on the northbound side of the M one though 2 lanes occur only closed that's after a lorry fire so that's just at the end 6 junction at the cat thought into change but traffic is able to get by on the one open lanes very light at the moment so no delays as a result like to be lots of disruption to public transport as well this morning not aware of any problems on the trains but it could certainly be affected if you see a thing else you can call 345105200 DAVID Really appreciate it with the train half an hour. And the time now is $730.00. 7 Lando has your news and sports headlines snow and ice are causing difficult driving conditions across Coventry and Warrick there's an amber warning for snow in place until 9 tonight the Russian ambassador to the U. Now is the time of the program when we stop our very busy lives just press pause for a few minutes and think about the bigger picture not where us are going to get out the house this morning or whether you need to crank the heating up but the bigger picture that with me this morning is the river Marland from central hall in Coventry Good morning good morning it's good to be with you again now you made it in from thin air what's it like Infinium it's OK There's a covering of snow everywhere but it's all quite dusty so it's easy to move and just got to be careful not to slide around too much without good to hear it we will put ourselves in your hands today we've already been up to what I've been thinking about well yesterday I was in Stratford upon Avon to preach at a special service in the beautiful girl chapel it had been organized by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust and one body one faith to celebrate all kinds of human love and to mark the fact that blessings of all kinds of relationships can now be offered in that chapel Christians believe that God is love it's not just what God does but who God is sometimes God's love can be overwhelming and the church's history is full of those saints remembered and forgotten whose lives have been utterly changed by God's love they have gone on to do all kinds of things they would never have dreamed of in our personal relationships to we discover a love that can change us and help us grow in the best relationships we become more fully ourselves because we are all made in God's image and likeness when we discover more of ourselves we are discovering more of God's goodness and gift for those of us in the class community all of us not always been recognized by church or society sometimes it has inspired fear or hatred as people react to a relationship or identity which is outside of their experience or expectation of the world. I was shocked to hear last weekend that workshop right had had to pack up their stall in the market in Stratford because of the amount of homophobia directed at them by people passing the fear of love is sadly alive and while in our communities much of this hatred arises out of a fear of what is different or unknown in the Bible we read that those who love live in God and God lives in them in our loving relationships we are discovering something of who God is not only that but we are taught that perfect love casts out fear this is both a challenge and the good news for each one of us that the love of God which is reflected in all the love that we know for those near and dear to us is more than able to overcome hatred and fear are we ready to give up the fear and even sometimes the hatred that we cling on to we are able to open ourselves to be truly loved by another and to be truly loved by God I hope and pray that that love will transform our communities and our world.
