Today and he's going down your way again and shining the spotlight on Barford getting to know the place and getting to know the people local music legend Steve Bowden joining on the show as well as a Coventry musical theatre legend because he's been with musical theater for many years this has been going for 100 years he hasn't been with them for quite that long but he's on the lookout for. The join the production of Annie that's coming to the Belgrade theater next year so we thought we gave them a show to wear to talk about that light sport my hat in the ring by the way 1st of all I want to do I want to be a Daddy Warbucks if that's all right with you and Mary is quite looking for diplomacy is how Mrs Halligan but we'll see how that pans out. Day 3 Coventry versus Warrick share what are patients that ice that's good so making it very exciting today too delightful relaxing love songs after 1 o'clock our love lunch and work at safe into the Brody bunch in a few minutes and we've got set 2 members of the Brady Bunch today both men on the show many times before. And I shall introduce you to them after this from Phil Collins. Another day in paradise some people. Another day in paradise. There's a point. He's had. Some brilliant things at the moment and I mean some concerts around the world as well. B.c. Coventry more shit back in the studio after a trip half a mile away from this radio station see where Fargo how far is Fargo really for me about the way it's about how far is that yeah you go but I had a really lovely day they asked that I had to hopefully you enjoyed listening to as well right Brody much time we've got to Brody but she's on the show today been on many times before so if you're a regular to the show that we're very familiar to you Robinson 1st of all I met are you doing I'm good thanks mate how you get my ear Sonny surely. You know know what roof came off the. Way go up I'm going to the roof same place last night after the yellow warning so I'm quite happy about life and let's not mind us where you're from Might I'm from a going to change it's a charity that disqualified have put the working for the Church of England I guess and with different churches around the city and me personally I work with refugees and asylum seekers so we do free English classes we do football we do all the bits and pieces yes and not hurt you but you decided to do a bit moonlighting elsewhere in another on or on the news it was a Tell me about that I did I did I was on a on the Sunday morning show with just the bye week or so back so yeah it was good fun not as much fun as this there obviously are you know just cos Yeah. They could come back but never mind what you were talking about I was talking about a I could be friend in projects in an easy English conversation group so we can start and it actually releases the belt so we do it at the Belgrade theater who've been really good and they just they let you know that the upstairs bit where this kind of thing I know yeah really nice we just gather there a couple times a week up a parrot topic so yesterday it was British food. Just liable to talk through I got some kind of questions are never just means to go in small groups and just take the time shining to get to know one another I'm sure but apparently camel is the number one food in Sudan and I did not know that you can tell me about your and they said the guys have promised me that if they can track down a place the us that sells camel anywhere near here they're going to caucus a camel camel sort. So of course the last how come over Cavil burger Well what is it you don't we get there festivals Well it was ostrich burgers It was a lot of rich burgers there and I've got to say caliber has passed me by and also work football's a big part of your life is what is it in the real world as in the world before not that you For you got to 10 world but at any point but personally enter also with the business and the charity that's right yeah football on a Sunday Morning which starts up again on Saturday it's really kind of 30 our guys there are thing from all different countries I'm you know it's just it's really good from the moment we look you know looking ahead to next year with the World Cup on the horizon is there anything we can get in place you know it could it be possible for the World Cup with all the different communities in Coventry and just about you know success. Also also it's still early days but I said on Radio National's got to happen as an argument yesterday that. People get relaxed on the show they say stuff like you do realise it's almost a record of what you have so yeah there is a great time you know we go yes and here is somebody else is a regular on our show it's born a singer songwriter you don't mind me saying this to you but you know you're not doing too much of them are not doing too much at the moment no you are oh yeah good luck today you can get I'm fantastic but so no we should we should talk about it as you quite open about this yeah yeah yeah well you explain now in a scheme extra earlier in the air which was accompanied by a a seizure still gutted that nobody got a phone out and actually recorded me yeah running around on the floor partly was quite spectacular but now I joke about it but you know it's a very seriously good it could have been very very bad I'm lucky that it's not had any permanent physical or mental effect or what I wear off but I still get very tired it takes a long time and I'm allowed to drive for a year long I'm not sure of frustrated and she's frustrating it puts constraints on what I can do what's incredible right year I'll never get over this is long as I live you were on the show how many weeks after you had this back to the. After that fantastic it is it was fantastic I had to pinch yourself or you with off well I mean we wouldn't obviously be winding me up but my brain couldn't connect with it but now you're on the mend and yeah you're just joining us on the show but what about what about music what are your work life here at the moment are. Playing a lot of guitar or getting back into play more guitar again strangely enough this morning the last few days have been picking up a load of songs that I used to sing years ago or you still a lot of old country blues songs that I haven't and I haven't sung many of them for years and years I've been digging them out now having to go around and Mark do some recording and those are some of the fun yes it will be for there and I said then are sort of quite sad songs and as you know I do the whole measurable stuff yes yeah introspective measurable focus though I don't know and the sort of like a slightly happier sideline of a real country blues will contribute on happiness. So it's good for know they're really good fun to saying well not really enough well a lot of folks are hearing those and glad you're on the show again by and large you may hear that right drivel of what's coming at them because of because of the stories in the news today we've up with the science we work to mix it up a little bit today so we're talking about adult hood begins at 26 apparently 26 I'm not there yet so you look there you know I'm 47 in the December number yes absolutely Hollywood comments on a controversial picture that's come out after 14 years that when it was originally taken and parents this like of modern baby names Larry I'm sorry but I would probably have myself to that list not all but some were talk about that and play Charlie proof Meghan train and next on b.b.c. Coventry and orange the place you live is sad if it was even a riot in the city is such a good turnout and people come to showing how proud they are of their city this was our day the stories you share the video are. For. So he. Came up to me I feel for. Coco thank you but the law is or. The b.c. Coventry in Florida. Let's. Just. Clear the song. Let's. Get this king says too. Long. So secrets just. Show. a small. Hello Charlie making trying to hello and. B.b.c. Coventry and want it said 25 past midday Sarah telly waiting in the wings she's got your latest travel news in just a moment followed by Cricket updates as well and that's when we'll get the latest from Chloe right let's go to the Brady Bunch then and give you a quick reminder on the show today we've got Matt and to end on the show today let's begin with this now. Become a great fan of The Great British Bake Off gents can't believe that well I can't believe I'm saying that sentence here because what happened was I never used to watch the original show when I was on b.b.c. One he was in my bag but when he came back to China full I thought for the show so . I know what I'm talking about I'll give it a go I don't fall in love with you while you go but of course if you know anything about a Great British Bake Off you'll know that one of the other main the main people on the show is not over the poor Hollywood and he's issued a statement this was so yesterday regarding photographs of himself wearing a Nazi uniform down a local village put on the Great British Bake Off judge said it was a devastated I was circulating online explaining why the year the incident took place 14 years ago he says I'm absolutely devastated if this is cause offense to anybody the picture was taken 14 years ago to a comedy t.v. Show themed New Year's Eve party and a group of us dressed up as characters from the classic t.v. Show life and everyone who knows me knows I'm incredibly proud of the efforts of those including my own grandfather he fought against the Nazis during the war no joke I'm going to get you all right you'll take on that and see what you work what you feel about this topic after we get you the traffic and the cricket update. B.b.c. Coventry and the work should travelers Sarah who we're looking plays today will start with delays on the m $42.00 southbound there's a queue coming down from Junction 10 it Tamworth towards 9 for the m 6 toll and it's after an accident which has now cleared so there's no life at lanes blocks but it's still very busy too late I'm about 15 to 20 minutes on the southbound side and not too far from there actually the lights failed road code with is still closed off northbound that's the a full full 6 as you approach junction 9 of the m 42 there was an accident on the fuel spill there yesterday which closed the road often initially Me afternoon but it is still blocks for emergency repairs and heavy around Grandin on the 85 and that's because of its down towards the boot hill junction if you see a problem call is 134-590-5200. Of the stories the music you like b.b.c. Coventry and the work. Ok let's get the latest on more issues Championship match against title contenders Essex and this is without any shadow that one of the busiest sport. Commentators in the industry a local library looking you're not busy at the moment fair broadly because we've got rain here I'm afraid of the rain house stopped on the clearing operation is already underway they're taking lunch at 1215 because I've got time for that but that means they will be shared you'll do a restart at 5 to one if conditions allow for it and they might turn to the house stop by any morning that's been fairly even sort of very strong position in the match 146 for to travel 55 runs but good ball in particular but keep Barker and Chris Woakes who've got a wickedly challenge shop I was hurting He's former county it's a bit like your former striker coming to school in a goals against gets his old club a violent Chopra's during that leads on 79 knots out for a 646 for 2 they are then the moment no pay due to rain but hopeful of a start early this afternoon All right thank you very much indeed Clive So no not a great deal going on at the moment but we'll keep you posted of course for at the off getting right let's get my guest back on. You doing a math right back to that story and poor Hollywood So we're basically 14 years ago this picture may know you're a Nazi outfit he was on his way to a pool party party and they dressed as. Famous characters or characters from a t.v. Show and you decide to go it alone characters What do you think about this all became a viewing and yet. I feel a bit sorry for him here. I mean we all know what was the nuts is a lump of your characters are characters to be laughed at in there if he's dressed up as one of those it's a bit of a non-story somebodies presumably got these photos wanted to sell them for a man a lot. Really is a bit of a non-story yes the Nazis were appalling there is no the way to describe them but to say that somebody shouldn't. Have dressed up as a character from from the show is. It just each to Chuck Smith is a step too far this is something that he's lampooning them Yeah well I think I think the thing with me and I'll give you my take on this 100 percent I believe he was doing it for a low life I don't think he's doing it for any other reason and you're spot on as well I still love watching in the eighty's when I was a kid and have a crush on one of the other cast members as well but we'll talk about that another day I think we all did but it was taking the mick out the Nazis were all absolutely but I don't think under any circumstances would I ever felt going to choose a character from a sitcom to go to a party I don't think I'd choose a Nazi outfit now I don't as I don't think I would argue the but if it came to it they wanted to have a party where everybody where every character is represented somebody is going to end up wearing not the armband not uniform and he had a bit of stick over this side but he did apologize but it's what it's all about intent isn't it made it like you know why did he do this and I mean Tate was he was he was going to see what rest of us are there I use the word comedy characters what you think about the story I think I haven't actually seen the picture but was the picture with the whole group or was it just him in a not so you know because I think that may make a bit of a difference actually in terms of if you can see they're all there is the whole cast members and you've got something of the names now but you know that you can see them all lined up with the pictures just he just isn't it is only him isn't an answer to killer pictures makes it look at it makes it look worse it's a very difficult one because it could it could cause offense you know a lot like you said it was an a or a polling group and killed so many people bought. Yeah I've been think about it all morning and I don't quite sure where I started calling it if you saw a big group of people and they're all clearly just from a lower low I don't think I would stop and be like oh my gosh he's just as a Nazi you'd be like oh my gosh yeah it's all over low and you know you look better you know and so I think. I'll give Paulie with a but I wonder if it's because he's Paul Hollywood and you know he's left the b.b.c. And there's been a bit of a backlash against him as the only one from the old Bake Off who's gone I think he's a little bit of a target for people to have a bit of a sniper. Years ago as well as well but it's also 14 years ago it was a younger man then but that's no excuse but you know I mean he was in the public eye then so maybe I think if he was to do this now probably think twice wouldn't he do it or you wouldn't do it to would he not All right well listen we're going to get you were it good to get your take on that now we're going to be talking about next this is an interesting one agile haulage begins at $26.00 does it really well I would say that I'm $47.00 December they started this while playing it on repeat of 5 in a car. But I don't think I've grown up yet honestly I mean just have to listen to the show but we'll talk about that after Barry White and you see the trouble with me next on b.b.c. Coventry more shit. B.b.c. Coventry more Barry White and you see the trouble with me on the road you went today then we've got up Matt and Ian and we've just been talking about Paul Hollywood and he's issued a statement regarding photographs of him self wearing a Nazi uniform at a local village pub and only and basically said he's devastated they were circulating and this is him dressed up in a Nazi uniform trying to be a cast member from from a lower lie but some people have said shouldn't have worn that Nazi uniform a but listen we're moving on to topic number 2 what you reckon about this adult hood begins at 26 modern Britons do not lay claim to full adult hood until they reach 265 years later than the equivalent generation 50 years ago and the research also found that the meaning of adult hood has considerably changed as well being an adult name means doing your own washing really remembering your parents' birthdays and keeping a plant alive crockery and assume that's a basic requirement is needed. That's all that's required no those and this is in contrast to what more white responsibilities faced off a century ago when getting married paying the bills and providing for a family were the milestones of adult hood and while the the old adage says life begins at 40 most people would choose to remain at the age of 29 if they could so this is kind of a lighthearted topic but we can have a good chat about this so years ago it's absolutely spot on isn't it and you don't even need to go back 50 years but our parents they had a different life to us in though they had to grow up a lot more quickly but what's your take on this what's your take on this matter when you when you hear this is interesting because I also think what do you do I am 24 now do I feel like an adult I say I felt I felt more. Going out on the scene in this you know in 2017 because. I got married in June my my wife and I were just you know it's very exciting and my now wife and I we kind of we got our 1st house we rented a house to it but I think I mean that was quite about the 1st time I hadn't really lived in like almost like student digs it was like my own place and it's like quite a nice you know nice nice house and so on all the bills and a lot of 1st time off before there are always been like Mom can you so are the listener or somebody else would do a deal with it so so I would say I'm feeling more like an adult if keep your plans alive means your dad or I will never be an adult as long as I live I'm useless and keep in the one plant in the house one job to get well while I'm was away I almost died starvation she's resurrected it yeah you know right you're still Ok oh my God Well it's really isn't it what defines being an adult I mean is it is it physicality is it is it the fact that you bought a house is it 1st having any kids what is it what defines been an agile and of course according to this research it's changed now days compared to the what were our parents growing up as well I mean I'm a I'm 4147 in December mention again but I certainly don't feel like it at all I really don't feel like I've grown up and I think a large part of that is doing this for a living I don't mind telling you because I have far too much fun there in this living but what you take and they see inside work if you don't mind me asking how we're I'm 55 right still can't believe one of you tell me that right see 55 are you an adult yet in law why is not. A lot of life I think is different aspects my life yes some things in life I've done the whole adult prosecutor of got married daughter has brought up 3 lads in all that sort of thing managed to keep a plant alive lying yes well to say to the cactus has been with me about 18 months now they. Are actually actually put pictures of her on Facebook still lawyer fight us yeah because legendary. They are cannot keep plants alive are you know how they say some people got green fingers Oh yeah I'm a black male any appliance I go near and let it to where you need to chase they go like crazy. So yeah I've done a lot of adult things and things about which I feel adults but I don't feel like a grown up in terms of a don't fail sort of hugely serious about life around a lot of things in life there's lots of things in life or do feel serious about and there are lots of things in life or don't so part my life yeah feels adults say what you think and change beautifully is though what you think change then sort out the Celera our fathers our grandparents our mothers what we're doing is change there over the years as lots and lots of things change in this country Markham our parents grew up when the 2nd world war was over I mean I'm a good generation older than the so ease grandparents probably in that case grow up so things are very different and society was much more stratified than it is now there is more movement between the classes it's as you know we've spent about this before I don't think this is much now was the was but that's more of a financial thing than a class thing although the resteal class the volleyed. Birch Society is a lot more open. And it just doesn't fill quite a serious I think a lot of things don't that's a good point and of course life changing. Technology knowledge things can just lie there 1st houses anymore which is terrible which is and also just quick question for you both and before we move on to the next topic the other bit of this survey said and while the all that he says life begins at 40 most people would say they choose to remain at the age of 29 so well what was your classic year might now your few years off I'm 20 and I think either of you got a classic year for you you know or also you know 24 years and growing you know I'm loving it so far so yeah he said and for me I wrote 27 with my great year what about you right wall 8090 was pretty good because that's when I moved away from home 1st to go to university but having said that. Because. First. Started having kids also. Just about what do you reckon about their. Parents. Grandparents grandchildren. Tabitha Aurora and a lot. Of the 9. I . I. Course is. The way off to one today to relax in love songs and another one dedications sandwiched in the middle there as well a few minutes ago we've just been talking about modern Britons do not lay claim to full adult hood until they're 265 years later than the equivalent generation 50 years ago according to been talking about. Life was a bit more structured back in the day. So I'm a daddy you did as I love all the ones universe the guys degree when I got a job in a state in the public sets when I just got enough for life and about the same that's. Of much more structure than he got you know more got a house and family and whereas I think nowadays it's people jump and joins the jobs a lot more and struggle to buy a house so you might like to move and I just know that you have that same like you even you get a job and you settle down and it's kind of it was a bit more rigid but I think you're right idea I mean what if what if this is anything to go by you got married when coffee months ago yeah back in June so every a 3rd question you get also in your life at the mo is that when you're planning a family so you should be doing that then according to the structure Sion you know now we know the house kids next to us and we've discussed it with you know not not for a while yet but you know if it's something we've we have talked about this are far too young to be planning. To leave till next year. Let's talk about this parent's dislike of modern baby names now one for grandparents their children's names such as now these are you know there's a couple of those not too bad habits that beautiful May Aurora. According to our research that I sort of check to see were odd and ugly and conventional might as well stir others lot of fashion choices all the fact there are. There suggestions have been discarded names of most disliked by the older generation include Charlotte thin jacket Lindsay know and Sally. Sally Johnson from golden treasure it works with me every Sunday morning by about what those names so I wrote Carrie quite tame Charlotte thin Jack Lindsay know and Sally but so how do you we're how do you stand on name z. And so we're because of got to tell you the way I look at it. State Moyer 2 pennies were free and. You can choose your kid's name you can call your kid fire hydrant if you want to. You can call your kid bubble and squeak if you want to but I've got to live with that they're going to go to school with that and even though unusual names are more common than they used to be I think that's what it is for me it's it's the kids have got to live with that name and money is brought in by the way it's not staged I mean and the odds are that Mickey taking out me at school just because I was home grown. But it's true so well how do you how do you feel about all of this our thing you see something that happened for for a long time I mean are can remember they sort of going back you know going on saying or don't like the modern names Me Me Mom say not me grandmas lane and they sort of thing. I think it's you're right in you've got to think of something the kids are going to be obsolete with so. Not sure I would have wanted to grow up sort of being called Moon Unit for example. Frank Zappa's kids but the names that for example that got our hair Tabitha anything wrong with that this is a likeness to really old baby call names they're larger and no one honey that used to be a lot more common. Biblical names going back a bit further so I guess just fashions change and sometimes you find that yeah grandparents. I want to suggest names that I like but they might be name to fall in and out of. And of use or add to popularity now I don't know their names that may in my wife with thinking of when when we were like what she was expecting a moments like that 9 Manu somebody at school and I didn't know you didn't like to go. That's a good idea there are certainly other some of the names out there but if you know somebody in your past the well you didn't like it might tell you just about 9 or so so what what do you what do you think of these because obviously you know you've just been saying you might have a where you will have a child in the very near future maybe what you think of a new Sure names and grandparents like it I'm out. Of that I thought I'd say I'm probably more of a traditional thing with some of the names that you see that I was talking before like Northwest these call these His kids can you can you know I think you know it's just like the other thing that's like you know you brought only well what about the kid I mean it was for Kanye West kid it's he's going to be like he's our child so it's his life is going to different anyway but yeah yeah you got to try and live with having a really obscure name you're the mickey taken out of you know and. Yeah I think I can understand that people but you saw it in that you had someone in your past tomorrow you might not like very much and although I think what I remember I think it was Jason Manford or one of the one of the comedians who did a sketch once about names going to fashion and he asked whether in weather in the future will have any berries because he was like I've only ever so ever met a baby called Barry No I know that's already good for you I already have and so I don't know lots of berries but you're right Dickie I had contemporary at school called Barry Yeah yeah not recently you know it's me is my baby Barry is just larger. After the other you know what we're going to put out there right. It's a commentary in March and surrounding areas has there been a baby in recent years called Barry to love the name by the way earlier than I but I do take you point out to jets that was a lovely want to date thank you very much indeed. A varied mix of topics Hollywood comments on these controversial addle who really begin at 26 according to research does nowadays and parents this law like of more than by the names and and of course grandparents. Your way. So. Love. Bitter sweet. Love. That is. Reach. Oh you have all you. Have. But I'd love. To see you love love. B.b.c. Coventry Yeah that's Whitney Houston and I will always love you and before that we pledge attorney Braxton and I'm bright my heart's a babby your love a lunch for today and back tomorrow to brain of songs and of course another one of you that occasions in the middle of there as well I love hearing those dedications every single day now on the show in a few minutes we've got day number 3 of Coventry verses were often in general knowledge quiz and it we did it yesterday from from Fargo very sure that was nice and it's one of pace so we're level pegging at the moment neck in neck just the why we like it that's coming up after $130.00 but next I will cross over to wedge which is today going down uy again and shining the light on Barford will cross over to watch after the police and their next home baby. The place you live it's actually promoting the dam burst in the city the use of the city the energy of the city it's our time and we should go out there with confidence to tell our story the stories you share that. Hope for the welcome home you won't want to tell the grandkids in the future. Thanks. a bottle sort of really nice takes the actually high protein just to say it was a pleasure to work she presenting your show from Fargo yesterday I was intrigued by the artwork for for me and for the scene it was love to meet some of the team as well thank you ever so much indeed you are a Star thank you for all for getting in touch Simon from thank you might now let's cross over to wait for the 1st time today. If you're a regular listener of this radio program only too well. That we love to send wedge down your way today which is in power for the South or near to the people. And finding out what impact a bypass. Has had on the area so let's cross over to Charles wedge Barry had nowhere. Oh there Brody has lots of interesting things happening down here I'm just outside the village community shop at the moment and I can tell you there are light showers around but he's looking quite nice for the moment out here and to be quite honest now we're going to go into the shop we're going to church on the parish council about what's not to live in but we were down here I think about it about a year ago when we were in the Jozy village pub just around the corner but we were talking about we do night at a pubs at the time but we didn't get to find out very much about the village so I know customers already inside the shop lot of people doing the shopping in here just going around the corner and you know just above the area going into the moment I've got a whole list of awards up there about the village shop and the best business in 2008 and they've got so all sorts of things of Mr village shop business award this if you want to doesn't control lines of all the 2015 old is about 12 of their own stream in it to look at them to be gorgeous which is coming into their coffee area which should great place to do any an interview with for it to be quite honest probably because we've got a lovely settee a bit like yesterday except we have got a microwave a coffee machine full of coffee which is absolutely lovely on here with we with John Murphy who's that one of the partial I think I know you Deputy Chair John just to just tell us a bit about the village because it's it's a very lovely village lovely setting of course much sure that orginally is very popular village it's a quite of quite a reasonable size about 1300 residents now and it's much sought after very expensive properties I'm afraid but it's also a commuter village we get a lot of commuter traffic through every single day at rush hour which was nice to have that by bypass because you know I can remember that being built about 2 would be 20 years ago so now 10 years ago 10 years sort of 10 years ago and it took most of the heavy traffic out of the village we did have approached approximately 20000 vehicles a day with a very high percentage of having good vehicles thundering through the middle of the village which we wouldn't realise of course as narrow was bid for bridge but you had a very ancient bridge which made through traffic a bit difficult Plus you got going through you know a very sort of you know only residential area of the bridge is very narrow it's got it in extreme in our footwear on the side of it so it's quite houses for pedestrians to lie. Can scarcely pass on the bridge and then he wants in the village the houses are on the edge of the pavement say where it's quite narrow going draftee How do you go to be I know you're a vet indeed. I came down here for a job 304040 years ago now and I state I came for 6 months and I stayed. Involved with the parish council that there partly helped to get the shop going as well here I believe involved as well yes in a parish council now for about 28 years and went off of last village shop finally closed not sorts of harsh council or partially very supportive but the villages got together and launched the steering group to see if we could in fact build our own shop because once you got involved with that unit we did been as a shell filler as well but our volunteer like a lot of other people about 80 of us and we we mount all the various shifts and money all the stock nice to see the local history books people ought to pop into the local villages with this is where you can pick up a local guide book and a book that tells about the place where you live yes we've got a very active heritage group and they are very keen on producing books and recording things and we actually think it's very important that we gather these things before the last as people shuffle on move away history is lost and we think it's important to collect these things and make sure it's available for everybody and very very enjoyable you've got a good tool coming you're involved with the drama club by any chance because I know it's very big and Buffett is. Known as a fringe member of the drama group I have a very active wife in the in the drama group. Very active though several productions a year and he's read me recently successful because around the corner one woman was a good idea and I was told that nobody was in the shop but they were all round buying the tickets for the latest production and I went around the court on a Saturday morning and people put chairs down somebodies draw even the box office was somebody's front room but there was a queue of people stuck there with at and this was 8 30 in the morning take it seriously that's right that would be for the music hall I would guess and there's those tickets very much in demand the whole can only seat about 66 people. Competition. A lot of competition. But they have. About the gravel extraction the possibility that might have an effect on all the new developments so we're going to look at. Heading towards. A more. a 7 question of us a question you ask us. But you see Coventry work here the Pointer Sisters and I'm so choice and I am actually because coming up in a few minutes on my favorite bits of the show Coventry versus war it's the afternoon show quis where we get a business from cough I go head to head with business from orange shirt and they are and they have to answer some general knowledge questions but what I love about the almost as much as the team captains taking part is I can actually hear you would home or in the workplace or say in the car screaming at the radio when that when you don't get the answer when they give a wrong answer honestly I love that quality versus work here on the way off the body toilet and she is next. Coventry and we're Sarah Tilly How are those roads looking after income not too bad at the moment Brody the main routes are Ok there is a problem just a little bit further attic worth that they be a full full 6 is still closed around junction 9 of the m 48 it was actually closed off yesterday after an accident and they still got it blocked for some emergency repairs and this road works at Grendon on the a 5 so that route is busy both ways approaching Boot Hill the traffic into Warrick and Coventry still moving well I'm sorry telly more in half an hour. The police the story the music you b.b.c. Coventry. Are right there let's get you the latest on more of his championship match against contenders Essex ploy. I was he going to live any more news lower back on again after Triffitt work from the ground staff to get us on straight after lunch. Very much up against it with their 6180 foot 2 I wore a jumbo badly today particularly the Senior Bowl as Chris works keep Barker in but only got 2 wickets to show for it Veron shopper is hurting his former counties on 85 down Lawrence point possibly also on 34 all 3 a 6 pack. The ships have got to at least 50 and then I just 21 runs behind Borash is inadequate 1st less 680 foot so thank you very much. The show Keep me updated for the often but if you'd like to keep on top of the cricket game between b.b.c. Sports website he's where you need to go the bull by bull calling tree. On the wind off the bunny toilet This is total eclipse of the hot. Sun. Do you would leave clips alone Honolulu. B.b.c. Coventry. Bonnie Tyler total eclipse of the heart now work tonight it's the rugby show Alec will be review waspy Singh was there and victory over mostly you can hear from Lost and new dad as well just until we look ahead to this weekend's action as well that's the other rugby show on your radio tonight just off to fill between 6 and 7 now and always remind you of anyway but the reason I'm reminding you of it today is that you too well one of our team captains who you're about to hear. Before I get in on hello welcome to Coventry versus worship the afternoon show quiz when we get the business from more from Coventry and they go head to head in a general knowledge quiz and the good news is because I like it when it goes like this when we left the game yesterday it was Cote Lee one apiece so still all to be paid for on the day number 3 so let's get out to team captains on and I'll start with Allan from Coventry. Are you doing mate I brought it or there you go so well you know I gave a nice plug for a rugby show there and I thought we could talk about rugby largely due to the fact that you're coming to bear so before we are before I ask you about a highlight By the way of the last 20 years you've got a big game this weekend remind us about balance. Yeah we played South Wales this Saturday 331 of a double header the boats park arena was probably united can offer 12 pm against crumbs growth so I had big double header there the Saturday for any sports fans in the city center and it's a last one to last one of the season is named It's our last game of the season. And we finished for the year and then went off by claimants so into a new year February March time so a bit of a break we're all looking forward to and as the season been for you as a whole might. They want to realize. Their years as a professional club we've been learning and a lot of younger players from the area of Coventry and sort of the military. So we haven't gone as well as as we hoped but you know it's. Rome wasn't built in a day shall we say so you know it takes a very time to develop as a professional club and yeah you know we're we're making steady progression and we're doing a lot in the community are absolutely ordered no no it isn't we thought about that and you involved with city culture as well and more you site an alkie you've been there Ah but you've been there for a long 20 years is it yeah I find it a club back in 1900. 6 years the 20th anniversary of clubs so it's yeah it's a long time and I play it from then up until about 5 years ago myself as well so. I suppose you know the man we had a big highlight in 2004 was 41 of a picture quite low we want division 3 back then which is a real big sort of clue for the club are supposed to learn when our child Arlen's and then and then turning professional a supposed 2015. And you know what would it was huge. And then I suppose myself. I pick my top 3 I suppose the server how I pick my top 3 and highlight. I represented Ireland all over a number of years but then most capped by 1st or full or national cup was in 2006 a lot that was it was probably my 3 year early highlights are great I lost a great highlights there my absolutely fantastic and as a say you've done some great work over the last 20 years so look you do well on the controversies work as well as get out of the team captain back on Derrick team or actually quarry part this part Coast Derek hello to Alan. Oh All right Derek now Derek Carol you've got our amazing stories Well we've spoken about quarry park disc park care course for the week we've spoken about your successes as well and and and I should imagine you've got a year a fairly big awards cabinet there but what I was really interested about I'm going to ask you in a 2nd you've had a year a rather famous celebrity play you know your place but before I ask you about that remind us what you do Derek in your place Ok so you. Go course at. Heathrow special times of frisbee. And like to go off in those 18 holes that we have lots of cherry to get in the way we. Wanted to and would you say it's easier than regular golf but if anybody want to take this up well you got one advantage in that you're not going to make the ball completely. Where you can always make them you know which is going to be pretty much what I do constantly miss the ball that's and that's one of the reasons that holds me back because I look absolutely to kill us when I play golf and also let's go back to that question then I'm going to ask you you've had a year or rather run a famous person are you at your place we did yes 6 or 7 years ago we had Robbie Coltrane came in did to filming at a program called The Road Britain went. On prime time t.v. So that was a really really nice thing for us and was he dressed up as had great. Regular . Because funny because he. You quite key need to look at be quite a good. Place for him and a good one for 0 when they get there they're going to be from behind and now only me me and the camera man. And the great thing was that because. The program. Was there and I'm not good did they put your place on the matter how you feeling today you won't want to face at the moment that's all to be. Yes Yeah pretty confident All right gentlemen looks like it will start. After this from. Thank you very much. And also Dave as well to tell us about a problem we've got on the right so you might want to give this particular stretch for the moment. Let people know that there has been an accident and 46 of the Warrick turned off a blog for some time so that's not looking. We know about the war. We know that it's a pretty a pretty big stretch and going to cause massive problems as well so we're keeping a close eye on that one for it off for you and David thank you very much indeed we make sure Sarah Tilly is aware of that as well and we'll have another traffic update in just over 15 minutes because or just the a 46 at the Warrick turn both lanes blocked there could be closer sometimes that's not looking good at all. I s. . And of course if you can update update us on that or 34505281 trouble 3 Start your message we've seen right let's get back to the afternoon show quiz that is Coventry versus work and let's get out to team captains back on representing more action and Corey part disk part cause of I got too many parks in their quarry park this park course there's a circle this too many parks in there isn't there on my score you know but listen we all know what we're talking about Derek from Team origin how you doing fine thank you very and here is it's Allen team Coventry Hello Allen I didn't arrive we're very very good now let me explain how this works for you or anybody else he's shooting in for the 1st time coming up I've got 90 seconds on the clock and 10 general knowledge questions your job today so I want some more than your opponents but we don't want you are shouting out the answer you need to use your buzzer Derek in your case that's by shouting team or if you give me a blast we're worried here and out and if you could do the same problems or now whenever I hear of the war issue or commentary that's Marcum to you that's when you'll give me the answer but rest assured if you don't provide me with an answer I'll sure throw that question over to your opponents Now gentlemen as a reminder it's code you want to pay so one of you will be going in front and your 90 seconds has begun to thrive here we go Question number one at which Race Course does the Grand National take place that worry sure Hello Derek go for it I mean truly how many notes are there in one Octavia. War issue in Derek. Is a clip of a theme Can you name the t.v. Show we. Were in during. According to the old saying where does charity begin work weren't sure and Derek. The condition scurvy is caused by a deficiency of which better is that Coventry go for Alan. Here's a clip of a song can you name the same guy everybody was. Who. Ha and you know it is gentle doing really well move on with with which pop group did Boy George 1st find fame. Derek Culture Club in which musical does the song club. Feature. In which we were in here Derek and here's a clip of someone talking can you tell me who it is plays story about just what folks I always. Hear somebody coming out so I'm going to do my kind of dance the great part problems or Coventry an island by flicks where the oh I'll go to you know just at the end well turn island that was good today Gents thank you very much indeed a few pauses and what I love about the pause is he gives the charts of the people at home or in the workplace in the car to scream out there right here so I will listen stay there will go for the questions in 40 seconds the place you live beside if it was seemingly valued in the city is such a good turnout and people come to showing how proud they are Vesa take it this was our day the stories you share the video our. Friend. Came up to help feel. Like typing something but. He's a. B.b.c. Coventry and workshop. The only reason are you when are they like the song anyway but the famous enough that you can track it down and it's the Mitchell brothers from Eastenders doing a great little dance about but it was called Douglas gentleman called Douglas. We should all point you should have got that boys a real song Gordon Roy was implanted in the noggin for the next pop quiz which pop group did Boy George 1st might find that was Culture Club team or if you got that in which musical those the song Climb Every Mountain featured That was The Sound of Music weren't sure as well and then a bit of a gap here I said here's somebody talking can you tell me he would ease about this rough course I always did. This year somebody told me not so I'm going to do my kind of dance and the great part yeah so I can imagine you were I can imagine you doing a search very dance as well Alan from Coventry of course it was Patrick Swayze who was talking about it so you got the point so I think we probably worked out how it's going today but it's certainly not a whitewash so getting 2 points today Alan Coventry bears well don't. Bug getting 6 points did I. Do you feel. What. You should because you know I was not messing about. What to say so gentlemen will meet up tomorrow for the. Maybe see Coventry more Scissor Sisters who have disappeared off the face of the planets and I don't feel I done seen a few minutes ago we mentioned some traffic problems traffic problem that we've got me 46 thanks to David and Ian as well we not only phone but text as well and it's a $46.00 so I phoned at the War It turned. And if you're not familiar with what we're doing we're taking an actual Coventry actually made in this fair city and we're asking you to get in touch with us and share your stories of Coventry and those favorite places that you were that you've been to perhaps are no longer there and they're going to reflect your stories and some of those places on the artwork that will appear on the tanks we also need your memories as well of places to visit when the taxis are all finished and yesterday we were there to see the artist has been given the job to provide the artwork for a taxi were given he says work to watch him doing his art my Friday afternoon and that man was in Cook and he did some great work yesterday and one of the highlights for me was Margaret Margaret it really originally suggested that we should feature the elephant on the pole that's still abroad going out and she turned up yes that I mean got to work as well he became her official us official Assistant yesterday pretty if she got bit messy as well she loved it and this prompted a Zevon Kenilworth to get into it yesterday and she said I had a blind date and to me that elephant is now my husband of 48 years that was lovely thank you ever so much indeed Hazel But back to Margaret and our artists and we thought we'd replay that moment when Margaret so hooked up with the artist yesterday so all of that to look forward to more from which is one who's going to be offered today another one of his Daniel Weiss theories but in just a few minutes I'll introduce you to our friend of the show Steve Bowden and he really is a local music feet a legend and I say that quite seriously he's a part of the the economy theater society that I've been going for. He hasn't been with them quite that long but he's been on the show many times to tell you about some of the great shows that he's putting on and the next show I mean it's a long while why he may next year but in a few weeks time he. Joined the production and I thought you might want to find out a bit more about that and what do you got after this. Never let a slip away. What if he's got a role for me much much of this. Good . B.b.c. Coventry and worried should write some goal to never let us slip away well after name thank you for joining in the show here now forget season my next guest already recruiting for theat supply He's for next May Now you probably think that's a long way off but trust me that he would not tell me to stay bowed in the legendary faces saucy. It was a year after year put on great shows in the city and he wants your children your grandkids to get on board for his next big production and he joins me on the show to tell me more about it. It's great to see you again but I think one of the reason I wanted to get you on because obviously we want to see we're we want to get a lot of attention attracted to this right so thank you 1st thing but I was thinking that you've been coming on the show now. For years since I've been doing it and other shows I've covered as well I thought we'd never talked about your career and how you got into this you know yeah let's do it so I thought right let's let's get let's have a chat with you before we talk about you know the rest of it so remind us what you're currently doing so the daytime job as opposed to country music or fifty's so my daytime job we produced pantomimes imagine theater which is based in the city we've been going for 20 odd years now and you know we produce panto's all over the country so we work with the team at the Belgrade to work on their pants so we do Lemington spar but we also do them as far afield as Inverness Porthcawl in South Wales so everybody says cry wow what a wonderful job doing canto would you do the rest of the year. Seasonal Exactly and you know it takes 18 months to put a plant on in the theater so we you know it's a constant constant role producing and creating panto's across the country now so let's go back going to go back to the beginning so this is a great job that you do any is wonderful very stressful as well but you do something that you love but it is something you always wanted to the theater I think it is I think I was brought into theater like I hope a lot of children are going to see panto's at both the Belgrade and Coventry theater and we're blessed with some great amateur theatres in the can in the in the region are consuming it Houseman and the Priory I joined the Priory when I was 15 years old I just always loved live entertainment it is something that you couldn't recreate from a t.v. You know the fact that it's happening there and then in front of you you witnessing just a unique show you know it's that audience is watching a show that might happen the next night be with the same audience the dynamic might change. And I just just loved it I just really from a from a say 5 or 6 just love theater so I remember putting on a school show Raising money for the Pale Blue Peter did when I was at school we want to show and this is great I just I enjoyed performing but I was more fascinated with what went on behind the scenes So how did that then take you to see where you are now even so that how did you then become where you are today obviously what happened in between well I joined the prairie theater in kind of the last 15 and amateur theater is a brilliant way of actually honing your craft and just finding out about the industry and I the 1st thing I didn't it was I design sound for a play and it's about never done but I just thought I'll give it a go and then lighting and then set design and I went off to university and I trained as a teacher in design and technology and drama and at the same time as I was doing that I did a bit of work experience at the Belgrade are then in Laughlin who was doing his panto's there in the late eighty's early ninety's all the way through and in and we always used to kind of have a chat and he'd come see the panzers that we were doing at Lymington war at Kenilworth That's amateur panto's and we'd all go and support him and I you know after I'd graduated and I was thinking what with what is it I'd like to do in in asked me if I'd like to go and work alongside him on fun song factory which is the kids show and obviously coupled with that was the work he was doing at the Belgrade on the panto's and from that little kind of wanting to get involved right place right time we developed what is now the piece of imagine for it so the planets know I love hearing that but obviously you doing all this alongside comedy musical theatre theatre society which has been going for a 100 years there and this is this is a big part of your life as well how do you manage to squeeze both in I know I do you know I think it's probably like yourself if you do something you love you just enjoy spot on you just enjoy it and I feel that the sort of shows that come to musical theatre society do other sort of musicals the. We as imagined it would never tackle because they are huge and the great thing is that I've grown up through the local scene in Coventry and worship since I was knee high and it's great to be able to work with those people and give back to local theatre in the area now you come on the show to see what to talk about and I am going to talk about that in a few minutes as well but you're putting on any added How come you've talked about the auditions and over super how can we decide to put on I mean well we always look for a contrast to the last couple of shows that we've done and back in May We did Spamalot and then last year we did 42nd Street as a society I think as did the kind of the committee who headed up that it's always good to challenge the members and look for new material to produce and Annie is a show the society in its 100 plus years of existence has never tackled and we. We did all of a 3 years ago and it was an absolute blast the kids were fantastic we had such a good time it's so challenging for us as creatives to work with 80 children which is what we had in all of the Africa. Should we do something else the children and Annie was a perfect choice than we should talk about that after Katie son still he plays next on b.b.c. Coventry Marsh and I've got to tell you my and. You know brace yourself I'm going to be able to shooting for you live on the writing was the 2nd scene you are K.t. Tunstall suddenly I say still joining on the show a local musical face a legend Boden from Coventry musical theatre saucy and is on the show to tell me about that this is some. Of this chatter but it's not until my next you know I know and it seems 5 minutes since we're talking about spam a lot. Of the the wheels keep turning on the machine is coming to musical theater so literally the day after spent a lot finished and we're all kind of sitting back at home on Sunday Adam sent through a message to say right now this one's I just have to get our heads around auditions for Annie so yet we always audition around about September October because we need children we've we've said you know this is a great opportunity they're back at school it's far enough away from the summer holidays for people to start thinking about what they might like to get involved with in their hobbies and there is a commitment. Needed to do the shows because we need the kids to be available for her so that weekends and all parents are incredibly busy and like to know how serenely Yeah so we said let's auditions all the children in September and get our heads around it and then once we've cast it will start rehearsing in January now this is a great a great musical is that most people have seen the of the t.v. Or one of the of the movie cause there's another version of it as well it's been a great musical theater production for many many years and looking for young people so how many people are you looking for well we have thrown the gauntlet down to give ourselves 2 teams who will share performances and in each team with think you'll have 40 children so there's 80 parts available for the youngsters of Coventry to come and join in a wire and we need them they don't have to have had a huge amount of experience in theatre but what we want to have is a sense of fun and energy and they do really need to be able to sing so whether they sing in the shower or in the school choir we just want to see them see what they see give them a go well the so many opportunities there but of course you've got some adult roles as well I mean you've got Mashallah good that's a great role are legendary you know there's very few musicals where the from one of the front characters is female and in Annie you've got Miss Hannigan and you've got Annie brilliant opportunity for females and of course Miranda Hart is just given her performance in the West End Of The reply was a she was brilliant Wasn't she great reviews Well look I would like to put my name and my hat in the ring if that's all right we'd like to see were auditioned for the role of the Starbucks if that's all right absolutely There you go hand of that I've been practicing mate magically So we're is a couple of songs from from you and I'm going to going to equip losses to give you a flavor of the magic that I'm capable of delivering Ok so here we go so from a. Daughter pick your pocket all to who gotta pick a song it's all to do Brody that's that's that's great we're doing Annie that was from and that was it 3 years ago we did Oliver that was right Ok it's one for Dragon so I'll raise that for get from that rocket so forget about access to be about another one from a family we all know this one this is the new. It's a. That was amazing but again you're in the wrong show for Can't their sense of the Opera get annoyed now and get annoyed and get annoyed right let's listen to some actual songs from the from money because these are some classics of me. Was. Was. Lost a great song it's amazing and I didn't have any children or indeed adults who haven't heard some of the material from the show at some point the life is just ingrained in our memory you're spot on so it's a great show it's happening in my next year or dishing in a few weeks so if we call anybody who's listening to the show now so whether it's their grandkids their nephews or their naysayers their own kids what should they do if they'd like to audition for a role so we're looking for children who have to be between the ages of 9 and 16 years of age so they need to be in their school years 4 to 11 years 4 to 11 if they fancy taking part we're doing open auditions Woodside Methodist church on Sunday the 24th of September so they need to head over to Woodside Methodist church for about 1 o'clock in the afternoon ready for registration and we're going to see all the children will see them in groups and they will learn a little dance routine and they'll sing a little song to us it'll all be handed to them on the days of the don't need to do any preparation but if as I said earlier if they have if any children have always had this ambition or dream to perform on the Belgrade stage in Coventry and just fancy performing arts come along and have a go I can't stress the value that not only the performance gives you but the teamwork and the social side of it that chilled. Can benefit from bless you Steve thank you for as always did a brilliant job loving us all and I saw more about the great weather you going to and then we could be posting let me know how it will go he certainly will write if you need any more information on that by the way if you missed it will have all the information is to give us a call or 34505200 Steve always a pleasure thank you. B.b.c. Coventry and the work should travel All right let's get you an update. To go Hello Lou hello Brady Yeah very busy I'm afraid this afternoon traffic heading south on the a 46 Warrick by parties all because of an accident close just after the Birmingham road junction so as you head towards the end 40 junction 15 looking absolutely horrendous there in fact Sali keys and you head sort of from the back down area so I had to bow to the Kenilworth out through Warrick and all the m 40 so very very busy incentive structure avoid the time being it's another busy afternoon as well only a 53 grand in that because of the road works around the tail and reminded that be a double for 6 Litchfield what occurred with the still closed this afternoon that's northbound. Junction 9 after those yesterday so that will cause us problems as we head towards a Wednesday afternoon rush hour however the m 42 itself is moving nicely a moment as if the m 6 if you see a problem call it 183-459-0520 extension 0 like so much learning to welcome the front of the stories the music you b.b.c. Coventry and the Irish. And let's get the latest on this Championship match against Essex Cloyd trust in force Well Essex 238433037 more should have at least been spared having to endure a century from a fall of violent shopper they were spared it in fairly dramatic fashion shot about it really really well to reach 98 and then. Occasional bowler came on for his 1st over it was a really good over actually how valid chopper l.b.w. For 98 makes 40 very nearly a run of a very well par a course in the slips so that was a. Despite. If you want to follow the cricket right now. Let's go. Live live. She darts why in a man I feel like a woman on b.b.c. Coming she want she really enjoyed talking to her to stay because he's been on the show so many times before this is the from the country musical thesis on tell us about the next production of Annie that's coming to the Belgrade face and she's been on the show so many times and we'll talk about his life and what got him into theater in the 1st place that was lovely and if you've got any young people in your life butting fest paeans musical theater stars of the future he would like he was starring I mean loads of chances loads of places loads of roles well at Woodside Methodist Church will on Sunday the 24th of September at 130 Woodside Methodist Church will Sunday 24th of September at 130 so there is love and good luck if anybody you know he's he's going to work go for that and it's really love because loyalty from live on the radio and author could see was very impressed in my singing with my musical prowess so I don't know where they were he just walks and I said So what do you think that Mr Daddy Warbucks in the next production and he said Don't call us we'll call you which was lovely so that's nice and he didn't want me have to worry about phoning him so that's nice so I'll be looking forward to that phone call in the next few weeks now still to come on the show wage is going down your wine and we've sent him to a bar for today shining a light on that wonderful village and we'll cross over to watch after the Hollies on b.b.c. Commentary more. Than. A . Song. And we'll chat to Phil soon and he can tell us what we can expect in the next few hours but of course I can tell you already that he will have a brand new a list for you to get your head around right then time to cross over to watch again today and where G.'s Daniel y. Am bar for the self to mean getting to know the people in the area and no doubt probably locate some really good pub where each of you located a village pub. Where these have been passed 2 of them we've had to come back to the coffee shop and for she goes he's starting to run here so any excuse yes I know all will with John Murphy again. Recharge it from the it was cheekily ask me where they want to go and there's a postman saw him go into the Forest of Arden blowing Montresor next Thursday be not too keen to quite keen I wasn't aware it was on but there we go. To talk a little bit about the parish council for you you had got 2 vacancies or you wanted to fill them we haven't found fill them we fill them in the September meeting with 2 ladies come forward who are very keen to help us and get involved so it's not you know one of the ladies you know quite often these things we all male sort of thing or a lot of blokes but mostly are not spread makes mix of people really so one of the problems facing the parish council. Oh all sorts of things have too many houses being built imposed upon us obvious a little new local time we've got a lot to come and a national policy guidance. Will only to accommodate and to to accept them but it's a big strain big pressure on the infrastructure on the school on the transport people to realise just how much effect these extra houses have he would sustainability now on the buffet was doing very well without the but in some ways in inverted more people of us but I think well we got ourselves classed as a sustainable village we've got a we've kept our shop we've got a new shop as you know we've saved our school we've got a full service we go to pubs and that means we are sustainable because we're sustainable we can take more houses apparently and make quite a change the community we've already got there really the cause there is other issues that I saw on banners on the roads on the way in here about possible coring again yes on the side of a 4 to 9 going south all the land so the eastern side is Sheffield to be include within the water County Council minerals plan for minority structure over the next 20 years or so I believe because you look at the there's talk about opening up the i even to pleasure craft and stuff like the so many thoughts on that's over reaction. We have no formal policy at the moment it's not been an active private capital issue yet but certainly it's hit the press in the traffic press and let me just press that the Avon navigation trustee is still pursuing its aspiration to open open all day even to navigation from Stratford all have to work well it is it is a lovely village I mean you look back on what did great to walk around I should think for people to come of it exposed to so many periods of houses it. Yes it's I suppose 500 years of houses lots of models of all those are the new stuff is all modern We also in the sixty's and seventy's but a lot of stuff which is much much older than 1700 their bones very mixed all mixed in jumbled together and it is a nice village and lot of communication all around the village lots of bodies absolutely packed with all these are always a good sign of a healthy village and I mean Also we got here Brody they got some lovely cedar trees at either end of the video. It's See the main want to see the Lebanon we've also got some of the blue cedars and if you're in a different side to cedar in various locations around the village they're very popular in Victorian times which makes a bit of absolutely smushing to be goes on is probably another great success with things like the new coffee shop down the scale to the sort of the build a new skeleton here I think and also they got the playing fields as well have you spent a lot of money on those not those don't know so it's a very interesting village but I think it's also got a few fronts ahead of it but Buffet doesn't get defeated easily anything that comes their way their normal able to handle absolutely work here thank you so much indeed and thank you ever so much you don't for a soft I mean what about with us tomorrow but you know 12 am 3 now we're still going on the show in fact in a few minutes as I said earlier find out what Phil's got planned for us but also one of my favorite moments to be in a fog overly jest today was Margaret now Margaret suggested that we should paint it out to tone taxi and to include arty tone sexy the elephant on the pole but simply how many times if you walk past them not even noticed it but some people they look at every day other people they've lived in common to all their lives and didn't know it was there Margaret joined us yesterday and she even had a go at painting the artwork as well you will hear that moments after this from hot chocolate on b.b.c. Commentary more shit started with a key. You Many thanks. For this I think it was about an hour. 46 and to the problems there's an accident around the turn and pretty much the bad and reporting. For you right now and. A further update just a matter of minutes ago says both lanes are now open but tailbacks quite bad so say 46 southbound and causing lots of congestion over softening we'll get your full traffic update will always win 50 minutes and of course Phil will be keeping an eye on that for the afternoon and we'll speak to Phil soon and he can tell us what is your plan for us after 3 o'clock today but if you listen to the show yesterday you'll know that I spent the afternoon in Fargo village in Coventry celebrating our 2 tone taxi project we're taking a working black cab and covering it in pictures and places and commentary recommended by you that's just part of our own taxi and yesterday I met Margaret he were we met in broad go back in August and she told us what she thinks should be on the cab the elephant on the pole and she thinks it's a hidden gem and she knows best I mean she's a true convention after all on here lived here all my life and brought Kate always seems to center around most the things that sort of come my way which is a coincidence rarely and it was a bit by chance I came I've heard on the radio that you know this to take a taxi thing was going to be happening and there was somewhere to visit and I was almost heading home for the bus on that day and thought oh I'm going to where they are over I went and I was immediately pounced on oh you're coming Tellus come and tell this all they do that rarity in Radio Times Barbara they always paints on us yeah but so but before we talk about what what you what you cast on but has brought gate changed over the years for you because it's because of only I've been in Coventry pretty 1015 years now and it's hardly recognized here it's where it was I was a change for you well it's changed a great deal I used to work in broad gate house and so I also had a bird's eye view of the item that we're going to be painting in and talking about in a while which is the elephant on the pole Now tell me about this elephant on the pole because there are so many conventions you don't even know that's there now it were actually live in the. City tell me about the elephant in the hall the only thing ton the pole it's a bad $56.00 foot pole and sitting on the chart is the elephant with the castle which I think it's about another 5 foot tall so it is a huge huge big Care monument rarely but obviously anybody walking past will probably just think oh it's a lamppost but when you actually look up you can see it's a flagpole is Wow Well thanks to you and our remain this thanks to you Margaret we've actually chosen it as one of the items that will be appearing on the 2 time taxi and let's bring him back you know now we're just on the outside at the moment you know so but Mark as you make you feel to want to know that we chose a moment well. Very on it relay because obviously that there are so many places that people Mr Toad you have been to visit and after climate of bless you well know it's a great idea it really is to a lot of people a hidden gem so in tell me what you do with the year with the elephants on a pole that you for you started on are not for the are already will be focusing on that life in the south and yes we're going to crack on and hopefully you know we're going to get get that done as well so by the by the end of the show we'll have the whole a large space that's reserved for only this is really a takes a virtue to write him so I just went ahead on the range I think you paint with cars in Wales. Surely they can't give me a brush but apparently that was lovely Margaret Yes that I am of course in doing is our work is work so I never seen him in action before but what I loved about it I thought Margaret would be there for about 40 minutes and our Max she was there all afternoon and and when I next there spoke to me and after that she was she was on the plane were gay and up close and personal gain a bit dirty as well she was lovely and she enjoyed every 2nd of it as well so we're of course Actually it's hotting up getting exciting by the day and we'll keep you posted every single day on how it's all developing on b.b.c. Commentary and more next that we'll find out what Phil's got planned for us after the Beach Boys. Grew up listening to the Beach Boys. Yeah my brother was a massive Beach Boys. And there's when they've been awesome b.b.c. Coventry and right now I'm here for a few minutes same fact and also that still much to see you again. Here are a good day yesterday I. Loved that and. Janet was and I. Was awful and we're going to give me a precious. Really Know What I'm after 3 o'clock today a video has emerged of a West Midlands police officer making gray shawl comments during a search of a house in Coventry we're going to play the comment that caused the controversy a little bit later on and get you to decide once we put the comment in context whether a serving officer should be allowed to say that was in the line of duty the forces actually been removed from frontline duties whilst their Professional Standards Department are investigating we'll hear from the assistant. Crime Commissioner for Coventry March a little bit later on on the program this afternoon Tricia do you think this morning she read out an anonymous letter I don't know if you had one of these from somebody claiming that the commentary transport museum was a back to start charging obviously famous for being free to enter and it was almost it's quite cleverly worded in that it says you know if the council work to start charging for this it would be madness bearing in mind the City of Culture beard is a huge and important attraction to Coventry one of the things that makes it attractive is it free to enter it's great place to go with kids on school holidays and school trips and the like would be madness to do that the letter is anonymous typed Trish put out a call this morning said she'd had one of the letters had anybody else had one she had a couple of calls coming off the back of it fully enough the day I've got one so we'll talk a bit about that after 3 o'clock this afternoon and more than that we're also going to make it the basis of the I list today Ok so we're going to talk about songs that relate to things that are free Ok so free to enter and getting and having to pay for entry bills and the like so that the a list after $330.00 at the new time for you and a bit more on. Coming up. So. Take. B.b.c. Coventry and more issued as the Osmonds and the original version of course of Love me for a reason boys are going to their version of us well well that's that's nearly it from a thank you for joining me on the show tomorrow all the usual bits and pieces the Brody bunch will have a day number 4 the pronouncement day of Coventry vs more Asia where we left it today was county to want to see more anxious so but it worked for Team Coventry to do in order to pull one back and take it to the wire for Freud and if you know anything about our show you should know that we love our musical guests on some of the show tomorrow I'll be joined in the studio by Gloria sunsets and to the lead singer Holly here I love her vintage style but focally and dress sense as well and the reason why we got them on the show tomorrow i'm a couple of reasons one they're brilliant 2 they're performing at Lymington beer music festival this weekend so all of that to look forward to tomorrow between 12 and 3 have a wonderful day want you don't go anywhere coming up after the news in just a few minutes it's Philip to the free throw at you after me. B.c. Commentary and larger trials for Kerry let's get your travel news you need fairly busy afternoon the road has Luisa certainly is particular traffic heading out of Warrick on the 846 along the Warrick bypath it's all because of acting still closing a lane just after the bombing I'm afraid junctions that is affecting traffic as you head out toward the end 40 at Junction 50 really slow again as well on the a 53 Grendon Sali keys there as you approach the road works around the tail and although not see bad actually on the motorway z.m. 60 m. 40 and the m 42 all moving nicely are minded just off the m 40 to junction 9 for any serious accident in the early hours of yesterday a section of the a double for 6 Litchfield road is still closed northbound actually had recurred with if you see a problem call us 183-459-0520 extension 0. More in around a half an hour's time from now I'm Brody back for you midday tomorrow on b.b.c. Coventry. And apparently the best things in life are free why then is there room the guy who ran the transport museum could be about to start charging try and find out a bit more after 3 o'clock 4 this afternoon placed you this story.
