Finally, seeing it move out . Thats good news. We have a break, it looks like, for a few days ahead at least. So we have a couple of areas here one, you can see comes from the great lakes into the northeast. Part of that moisture that finally, lifted out. We had originally had a frontal boundary that stalled out and a new low developed. So it was a couple of different days of that heavy rain. Pick out a little disturbance pulling in to tennessee, for example, that area as it moves toward the mid atlantic could cause Severe Weather. I would sale most likely hail with that. Until terms of the rain, pretty widespread as we get to the eastern third of the country. With all of that, putting into motion for the next couple of days, keeps the northeast and parts of the mid atlantic saturated. You can see the laslight rick f stronger storms as it clears through in the afternoon and continuing to move out, but by that time, as we get in to wednesday, a little bit of a break maybe later on tuesday, there is another chance from a system we are going to be tracking from the west. So much more active the next few days, anywhere from the great lakes, mid atlantic, northeast including that rain and chances for the Northern Tier of this to be some snow. It is cold enough. The good thing is the ground has been warm. A lot wont still. Watch for a couple of slick spots. The temperatures i was mentioning, that Northern Tier starts below freezing and even where we have the 40s along the coastline, those wont move too much through the course of the day and even cities like new york, those temperatures could nudge down a little bit. Thats really the cool spot of the country. A lot of the midwest, high temperatures well above average. So that rain is not making people very happy. Its raining. In geneva this morning, a new round of talks trying to end the conflict in syria. Diplomats are hoping to build on a tragill truce. After three roupsdz of attacks, instead of afternoon dimistura says he hopes all of the sides are ready to lay out a roadmap for syrias future. Our diplomatic editor, james bays, are we expecting any concrete changes to come out of this new round of talks . Reporter certainly if you listen to the special envoy, steffan dimistura, he says this time, it will be different. There were talks a few weeks after that collapsed after a couple of days, didnt really get going because of the intensified bombardment by the Syrian Government and by the russians. We had talks two years ago. They never really got going because of a row about the agenda. This time, he says he is going to start with the main issue. He says its the mother of all issues, and thats the issue of political transition in syria. Its going to discuss it as though talks get underway and in fact the first meeting between mr. Dimistura and the Syrian Government is taking plates as we speak. Dimistura saying there is no plan b if the talks dont work out. Is that really the case . Reporter well, hes making it clear that if there was to be a collapse in the talks, the only plan b would be what we have seen in syria over the last five years, the appalling death toll and blood shed and he said he feared if could get worse. He says if these talks get bogged down, if they dont make progress, that he knows what to do, he knows who to go back to. If during these talks in the next round we will see no notice of any willingness to negotiate, which we hope is not going to be the case, obviously, we will go what we want to do and we have done. We will bring the issue back to those who have influence and that is the russian, the u. S. A. , co chairs of the issg and to the security council. Reporter and mr. Dimistora telling us that the plan for the talks has perhaps changed a bit. When we were here last time earlier this year, he was saying a sixmonth period for the talks. Now he is saying there are going tosh three rounds of 10 days to two weeks each. So we could see if these talks dont collapse and i have to say not everyone has high hopes, we could see this whole process concluded in the early part of may. And james, before i let you go, with the setsation of hostility did now in effect, is there a sense of optimism right now in geneva . It certainly creates a new hat moss fear, a new backdrop and context for these negotiations because we have the cessation of secretary of state john kerry speaking in the last few hours. He thought there had been 80 to 90 reduction in the violence. Interesting, though, also what secretary kerry said is that the violence continues, he believes there is one side that is responsible for it. He says the main violator of that cessation is the Syrian Government. James bays for us, our dip m diplomdiplo diplomett editor a major show of 40s is understandway in soth korea. Lets go to ohio where there are growing con severance about protest in the Republican National convention. The gathering is going to be held in cleveland in july and al jazeeras Roxana Saberi is there this morning. City leaders have taken several steps to prepare for a possible protest in july when the Republican National Convention Kicks off in the arena behind us. Local police are getting special training in riot and crowd control. City leaders are worried about continued uncertainty in the republican race as well as the possibility that unrest seen on the campaign trail could erupt heir. This is the Cleveland City leaders want the word to see, when the Republican National Convention Comes to town in july. We could showcase a city that can come back, a city that can take a punch and knows how to reinvent itself. Reinvent itself through new businesses, a booming art scene and the return of an nba superstar. We really have transformed. We think its a great story to tell. But another story may steal the spotlight this summer with difficulties clear in cleveland and across the country over issues like race and police, post and politics. Heres a guy throwing pumps, nasty as hell, screaming at Everything Else when were talking. Getting hot and heavy out here. People are going to be angry. People upset. Activist bashir jones protested in cleveland on saturday outside a donald trump rally. He said hell lead more protests during the convention and expects theyll grow. We want people to be safe but we do want to expression our constitutional right which is the freedom of speech. Cleveland Officials Say their city will do its best. When you break the law, you should be arrested, but just because you, you know, you get arrested doesnt mean you have to stay in jail until after the convention is over with. Cleveland city Officials Say they are preparing for thousands of protestors as well as close to 5,000 delegates and alternates who arrive here at the quicken loans arena in slum. Some city leaders are worried that as tensions rise in trump rallies, they could boil over in cleveland especially if there is no clear runner after tuesdays primaries, which means the convention could be contested. Now the convention gets longer and as the hours get longer, that means the tension gross not only inside the venue, but outside of the venue. I dont think anybodys prepared for that. I dont think anybody is. Convention organizers say they will be. When youre putting on a 50,000 person plus event, we do plan for a lot of contingencies, the possibility of a contested or open convention is one of those. All the city council are failures. Activists worry that with or without a contested convention, Security Forces and demonstrators could clash as they did in protests last may over the acquittal of a Police Officer in the shooting deaths of two unarmed people. Thats a real worry, because thats when you get people hurt or incarcerated, wrongly incarcerated. Some of the things that you have to put in place is of course bell money. The police is giving itself special train and looking to buy 2,000 sets of riot gear. City officials are trying to find the balance between protecting the Public Safety and allowing people to have their right to free speech. What do you think about that . I think thats a great Public Relations statement but in fact, the citys number one and really their sole concern is to have a convention that makes the attendees happy. This arena is surrounded by several streets, so you can see, del, some activists told us one of their concerns is they wont be allowed on the streets when the convention starts. They want to get close enough to the delegates so they can make their voices heard. The move is drawing fire from president ial candidates on the left and right. When a company decides to leave like nabisco is leaving and theyve gotten tax benefits from chicago and illinois to stay there, im going to claw back those benefits. We have to stop it, folks, i know how to stop it. Jobs and the economy are front and center for many illinois voters this election year. Were going to talk about the new mission to sniff out life on the red planet. This morning the latest journey to mars is underway. It joins a long list of probes exploring the red planet. This craft has a unique mission. We know more about the planet mars now than ever before. There are seven active rovers orbiters above the planet. Recent discoveries have included the presence of liquid water, some below the surface of the planet. Theyve shed light on how mars atmosphere was depleted by solar winds. The big question, whether theres life on the planet remains unanswered. Thats wipe the european and Russian Space agencies are sending the orbiter to the planet to explore its atmosphere. In particular, it will look at the presence of methane and whether its being produced by active volcanos or gas belching microbes. Little a hot topic, so trying to understand the origin of the methane and where on the surface of mars and when its being produced and how it is destroyed is very important. Water in liquid form is seen on the planet surface before, but its not known how much this exists nor whether this conforms to likes under its surface. We need to understand what is the water with that, because if you want to land people on there, theyre going to need Drinking Water and you dont want to carry it with you. The mission will drop a small lander on to the surface. This will give it the opportunity to test Landing Technology particularly in dusty conditions before a planned recovery is sent to mars in 2018. Along with existing spacecraft, another two from the u. S. And india are expected not next two years. The flood of new data will tell us more about the red planet and its role in the formation of our solar system. It has begun, march madness brackets out, oregon receiving the number one seed. The jayhawks are the overall number one seed. They will play in the south region. It was an unpredictable season with a resolving group of number ones. That is likely to spell an unpredictable tournament. A sport that originated in the u. S. Is taking off in south africa, b. M. X. Racing. They are doing more than teaching kids to ride bikes. It is soccer that youngsters are inspired by but here b. M. X. Biking has a small, passionate following. It is a safe place for kids to hang out after school. Its in the middle of one of the biggest townships in africa. The Academy Manager said many youngsters come here with physical and mental scars and in need of guidance both on and off the bike. The resilience and patience of the kids, living in his or her house hold, hungry, but coming to attain just to make sure that he achiefs his goal. Some have issues at whole, maybe the guardian drunk last night, hell make sure that he is here at 4 00. This is more than just a cycling academy. Theres emphasis on academic achievement, as well. Its the excitement of riding and the potential to be sports stars that draws these children in. If they dont maintain good economic standards, they could have their bicycles taken off them. Before they are allowed to ride, they have to study. The academy provides tutors on saturdays to help kids struggling with their lessons. The classrooms walls are covered with inspiring photos. Battleground florida, how all the nasty campaigning getting more voters involved. Facebook promised to stop gun sales on its site, but the social media giant is having trouble doing that. We will be back in two minutes with more of your world this morning. Cant wait to see you then. Fighting for surviving in the president ial race, a do or die moment for carpeted dates betting their futures on primaries in florida and ohio. Kurdish fighters responsible for the deadly bombing that left three dozen dead. The only plan b. Available is return to war. A moment of truth, the government and opposition arrive for another round of indirect talks to end syrias war. A drunk know mobiler running down iditarod dogs at the famous race. Good morning, welcome to your world this morning. Im del walters. Im stephanie sy. The president ial candidates are making closing arguments ahead of the most five critical primaries. It will be a make it or break it moment for them. Voters going to the poll is five states tomorrow. The outcome changing the races for the republicans. The winner gets most of the delegates in illinois, florida winner take all for the gop. We are live in cleveland this morning. Of course ohio crucial for republicans. Were going to get to that in a moment. Whats at stake in ohio for the democrats . Del, good morning. 146 delegates are up for grabs for the democrats. Were watching to see whether Bernie Sanders will beat Hillary Clinton as did he last week in michigan by a small margin. Two states are neighboring states and they have fairly similar demographics. If sanders wins, it could be a lot of momentum for his campaign, del. Also last nights town hall meeting in ohio saw the democrats focusing on donald trump. How are the two faring so far on the department side . Well, clinton in most poms is actually leading sanders by double digits and last night here in ohio, they both made the argument that they would be the best candidate to beat donald trump in november. Im the only candidate whos gotten more votes than trump. I have 600,000 more votes than donald trump, and i am believe a broad based Inclusive Campaign that i think is the best way to definite him, by convincing people that this really is the highest stakes election theyve ever been involved in. And he can be exposed at many, many levels, not the least of which this is a gave who is a billionaire but doesnt think we should raise the minimum wage above 7. 25 an hour. This is a guy who believes in defiance of all science that Climate Change is a hoax. This is a winner take all state. What is going to be for the republicans, what will happen here is very important. Also, the republican side, ohio john kasichs home turf, the governor there, how is he going to affect Donald Trumps lead overall if he manages to pull out a victory . Well 66 delegates are up for grabs for the republicans. If donald trump loses to kasich here in ohio, del, as well as if he loses in florida to which one of the republican candidates, its going to be a lot harder for donald trump to secure the. You nomination before july and thats when that the Republican National Convention Kicks off here in cleveland. The party trying to block his path to the nomination. Thank you very much. Ted cruz won the majority of delegates this weekend at the wyoming republican caucus, grabbing nine delegates. Marco rubio and donald trump picked up one. Zero delegates there for john kasich, but he did pick up delegates in the d. C. Caucus. The biggest prize in the delegates tomorrow is florida. That is where senator rubio appears to be fighting for his political life. Polls show he not only may lose his home state but may lose badly. Robert ray is live in orlando this morning. Where does the republican race stand now . Good morning. You know, its a dog fight at the top with ted cruz and trump leading, but here in the state of florida, which is marco rook yos home state, he is lagging well behind. Lets look at new numbers on the brand new cbs poll. Donald trump at 44 of the vote here of the early primary voters. Ted cruz at 24 , marco rubio, the home state of the senator at 21 and Ohio Governor john kasich under 10 , so hes pretty much a wash. Marco rubio has been crisscrossing the state over the weekend, trying to get the word out, trying to make voters believe in his message and also fighting back against what donald trump has been saying about him and making sure that voters know that perhaps hes not going to support donald trump if mr. Trump gets the nomination in july. Lets listen to what rubio had to see. Ill be honest with you, its getting harder every day. It really is. While i dont want Hillary Clinton to be president of the United States, i do not, i want her to be defeated, i think were having a battle to define conservatism in the republican party. I do not want the movement to be defined by what im seeing out of Donald Trumps campaign. Just such huge blaring differences between donald trump and the rest of the gop ticket out there. Marco rubio just trying to let his voters know here in his home state that hes the guy, that he should be the one to take the 99 delegates in the winner take all here on tuesday. What about on the democratic side, robert . Weve heard for weeks that many expect Hillary Clinton will easily take the sunshine state. Why is that . You know, shes got a really good hold on the minority vote. Africanamericans, the latino vote, which is 4 million hispanics live in the state of florida and the womens vote. If you look at the numbers, Bernie Sanders is not even close. So it looks like hillary is just going to pull away with the state, unlike her husband when he ran in the 1990s, he didnt in both different primaries in florida, he lost both of them. Shes got a real lock on it here. They have an older demographic in many parts of florida which tend to support hillary. Thanks, robert. Donald trump says he might pay the legal bills for a man accused of punching a trump protestor in the face. 78yearold john mcgraw has been charged with assault. He is seen on tape punching a protestors in a rally. Right there youll see it. Trump says the demonstrator may have provoked the suspect. From what i understand, he was sticking a certain finger up in the air and that is a terrible thing to do in front of somebody that frankly wants to see america made great again. I dont condone the violence, i dont condone what he did. Its possible you could help him with legal fees if this man needs it. Ive actually instructed my people to look into it, yes. The man who was punched claims his group did not go with the intentions of protesting. He said they were there to observe when someone in the crowd kurds at them and within seconds, police were he is courting them out. A car bomb exploding in ankara. 37 were killed, dozens more hurt. Families there in mourning as the first of the dead are now being laid to rest. Government Officials Saying they are closing up their initial investigation. Al jazeera is live in ankara this morning. No group stepping forward yet but turkey stepping up attacks. Why . Weve gotten information from government officials here. One of them telling us that they are looking into the possibility that people involved in last 90s attack was a female suicide bomber. They tell us that the suspect was born in 1992 and linked to the p. K. K. Also today, weve learned that the Turkish Air Force conducted more air raids targeting p. K. K. Targets. Now, its important to remember even though these p. K. K. Targets are gone after by the turkish government, the turkish government has not said who they think is behind these attacks. Its important to remember that the raids that have been going on today against p. K. K. Targets, the arrest of suspected p. K. K. Militants, these have been happening intermittently when the frank guile peace began anew. There are a lot of indications now from the turkish government that they believe that the p. K. K. Is the prime suspect in last nights attack. Del. The intelligence seems to be telling a completely different story. Is that warning still in effect. The American Embassy in ankara has i should warnings or advisories for u. S. Citizens to stay away from areas they believe attacks might take place. Turkey is in the crosshairs from different groups that are targeting the country at a time when security is really on heightened alert throughout this country and the government has taken measures repeatedly in cities like ankara and istanbul and other cities throughout the country to try to prevent attacks like this taking place. Before we let you go, turkey fighting battles now on two wants to. Can it be expected to deliver on promises to europe with those refugees to are flooding the european continent at the same time it is being attacked domestically . Yeah, this is a very good question. I mean turkish Security Forces are really stretched thin right now. They are involved in a war against isil. They are part of a u. S. Backed coalition against isil in syria and involved in this renewed war against the p. K. K. That is taking up resources at a time turkey is promising e. U. When they get the 6 billion in funds they are waiting for from the e. U. To tackle the refugee crisis. The turkish government said if they get the funds they are going to step up patrols by navy boats, in border areas on the coast, the aegean so that refugees cant cross into greece but its a question right now whether the turkish government can handle this. Even if they get the money, its going to be difficult to contain the crisis. Just last week, we were talking, i was in a coastal city and refugees we spoke with there said that they believe that they will not be hampered from trying to cross into greece so long as they have the money to pay smugglers. There are vast Human Smuggling Networks here even at a time turkey said they are cracking down against human snuggling rings. There is the threat of isil trying to infiltrate those fleeing the fighting. Muhammed, thank you very much. The president of ivory coast is holding an emergency Cabinet Meeting today following a weekend attack on a beach resort town. 16 people were killed. Alqaeda has claimed responsibility. Caroline malone has more. A witness to the attack on a poplar beach resort in the ivory coast explains what he saw. I heard a shot coming from over there. This video shared on social media appears to show people running into a hotel from the beach where a number of people had been killed. Six armed men had started shooting people, according to the government, the attackers targeted people at three hotels. Some tried to swim away. Then started shooting at them. I was about 60 meters away. I dont know how i managed to get out of there. The Security Forces intervened after 40 minutes. They evacuated the area and went after the assailants but by then a number of people had been killed. I wants to that these cowardly terror attacks will not be tolerated on the ivory coast. We are taking significant action. It took another two to three hours to bring the situation under control, but it will take a lot longer for people at this normally peaceful weekend retreat to recover from this violence. Al jazeera. Sundays attack was the third on a west african Tourist Center in recent months. In january, 28 people were killed when alqaeda gunman attacked the hotel in burkina faso. More than two dozen recovering after an amtrak train derailed in kansas overnight heading from los angeles to chicago. Five cars came off the traction in kansas. Officials say its unclear what caused the derailment. Those injuries we are told are not life threatening. Flooding in louisiana has been formally declared a major disaster, leaving four people dead and thousands of homes in need of repair. The Governors Office said nearly 5,000 homes have been damaged along the mississippi delta. Louisiana National Guard spokesman said it is the worst nonhurricane flooding the state has ever seen. President obama signed a disaster declaration, triggering federal aid to victims. That particular area where the blooding hit is flat. There is no place for that water to go and those people are in trouble. This is a part of the country that does get more rain than others, but many widespread areas got over a foot of rain in just a couple days. Thats why its so saturated. Speaking of the rain moving off, you can see the broad area has moved from the great lakes through the east coast. Another little swirl kind of right behind that has Severe Weather with it. That is moving off, that later today into the afternoon hours, many the mid atlantic getting some of that. That primarily is a hail threat. We had a front go through. It stalled out, that was the first round of rain. A lot of that hit not just louisiana, but arkansas have had a rough few days. With the rain now, persistent, not moving out too quickly as i put this into motion. A lot of places in the northeast, through the day today, maybe some on and off but a good chung of today and early part have tomorrow, you can see the other little band that i mentioned could bring storms. Could be freezing precipitation. While theres a break tuesday, by wednesday, the next system well be tracking across the west and the Northern Tier of the country could move in. For the next 24 hours, a widespread area, mid atlantic, great lakes, northward getting that. I mentioned the area that could get wintery mix, snow, froes rain, the good aspect of this, any snow would be an inch or less. Were not talking a lot ant ground is warm. Here is temperatures to support that. You can see the temperatures below freezing as we get into places like maine, it is the northeast that is the coldest air right now. Still starting to see the Seasons Change at this point. Nicole mitchell, thank you. The occurian government and rebels resume indirect peace talks but the fate of Bashar Al Assad could hold up any deal. Guns still for sale. Firearm buyers are getting around the ban an facebook. The russian say its for the Syrian People to decide which means its code for saying until theres elections at the end of the pros, at least he gets to stay. The u. S. Has said there cant really be a meaningful transition, and if assad sticks around. Assad is still in power, he is backed by russia, does that mean that the United States acquiesced . In a sense, it does mean the u. S. Acquiesced, because it is the russians that are willing to put a lot of skin in the game and the u. S. Is very limited in what it is willing to do, and i think now with the russians flying air sorties all the time, it really conflict u. S. Room for maneuver. So the u. S. Can make a lot of pronouncements, but our ability to make assad go has always been problematic. One of the things the. The said in that interview with the atlantic last week is he does not feel bad about walking away from that line in the sand with regard to the assad regime. Do you think his position has been good or bad overall when the russians seem to be table to do what they want to do militarily. Whos right, whos wrong . On balance, i support the president. I support him because i dont think our engagements in iraq and in libya have turned out well and i dont think many people do, either. The idea that we can continue to expend blood and treasure, if you will, now on syria and expect a different result i think is wrong headed, but you know as well as i do that there are a lot of people in the Foreign Policy establishment in washington, including some in the president s own party who believe he hasnt done enough. I think he was right not to attack syrias forces, once the russian had come up with a deal to take the chemical weapons away from the regime. That was the whole issue and we accomplished it without firing a shot. That talk of a no fly zone seems to have died down, as well. Ambassador, thanks as always for your time. My pleasure. Fighting for delegates with their futures on the line. Well tell you what the republican rivals are doing to take each other down ahead of five important primaries to take place tomorrow. A new mission to find out justice whats in the air over mars. Welcome back to your world this morning. We are now officially six seconds short of 8 30 eastern time. The president of ivory coast is holding an emergency Cabinet Meeting today following a weekend attack on a resort beach town. Alqaeda claimed responsibility. This was the 30 major attack on a major tour it dozen nation since november. Hillary clinton locked in a tight battle heading into tomorrows crucial primaries. At last nights town meeting in ohio, Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton talks about income inequality. Unemployment and under employment is off the charts. Or africanamerican kids it is 51 . I want and believe that the folks most capable of helping low their rate are the black business community. Using Clean Renewable Energy is key to the coal country. We are going to put a lot of coal miners and Coal Companies out of business. Donald trump campaigning today in florida. On sunday, he was back in illinois, just two days after protest led to a rally being canceled in chicago. The difference was night and day. Andy rowsen explains. Do we love illinois . We love illinois. Donald trump said his rally sunday in illinois was essentially the makeup rally for the one canceled in chicago on security concerns. Scuffles broke out there when thousands of Trump Supporters squared off against thousand was trump protestors. They all showed up at the same time. It was well organized trouble makers. I didnt like it in that i didnt like it at all. It was very scary, and i think that they shut down our right to hear him speak. She saw a much more sympathetic crowd here in more conservative down state illinois. Just a few dozen trump critics stood outside in the rain. Hoped it wouldnt get so violent here. We just dont want his values in our area. Some were mocked by trump. Get them out of here, get them out and led away. U. S. A. u. S. A. seemed people trying to get their name out there, their face, theyre word out. He had a serious reason for coming here and this is it, the mitsubishi plant closed here and work moved to southeast asia. Other countries basically sucking away our money, sucking away our jobs, closing down your factories and manufacturing plants and were going to stop it and keep our business here. Trump hit out on his usually targets. Paul young man on stage that read illegal immigrant for trump. Trump also alluded to his desire from banning muslims from entering the country reading about a woman who takes in a wounded snake and nurses it back to health. But instead of saying thank you, that snake gave her a vicious bite. Back in chicago, there are no plans yet to reschedule that canceled rally. The latest poll of cook county republicans there puts trump in a distant third, but its down state voters like these who have given him a statewide lead and he hopes victory in tuesdays primary. Bloomington, illinois. Shaun king is a senior justice writer at new york daily news. He said trump is purposely using racially charged language to win supporters. I think its a white supremacist message and White Supremacists are loving donald trump, publicly, privately, their attending his rallies and donald trump actually very overtly is referencing wanting to go back to the good old days of america, and when he says that, those are really dog whistles of racism, of wanting to go back to prior times and to me, he is appealing to the ugliest aspects of our countrys history and i dont think its an accident. I could give you a laundry lift and ive about them at great length. I think there are two instances that really stand out to me. First and foremost, again, the constant references of going back to the good old days, ok, or prior times in American History, when you push donald trump on that and say exactly what times in American History are you talking about, he wont answer it, but we know that when we go back in prior times in American History, its very ugly particularly when were dealing with overt racism. Greater than that, he really stakes his entire campaign on being ugly toward latinos, comparing them to racists and then his campaign catapulted when he said he wanted to ban all muslims from entering this country. Its overt bigotry. I say it like this. I dont think hes poplar in spite of his bigot tri, i think he is poplar because of it. He has no policy proposals, no brilliant plans hes put out there. Its ugly. The latest polls have trump poised to win florida but residents say they are underwhelmed and underimpressed by negative ads leading up to the primary. The training quill beaches of florida lie in stark contrast to the hurricane of attack ads inundating florida voters. Donald trump made millions while hard working americans got scammed. Super pacs are attacking donald trump, hoping to stop his momentum, while trump fires back at marco rubio, aiming to knock the florida senator out of the race on his own turf. Florida voters say the ads are nonstop and making the difference. It makes me aggravated. Its like listening to children. During the last president ial primary in 2012, mitt romney spent more than 15 million in attack ads against his rival, Newt Gingrich and overall in the state that year, nine out of 10 campaign ads were negative. While im not thrilled with some of the negative comments and petty comments that have been made, they are all so passionate about winning and theyre just trying to do everything they can to win the nomination, and so that i just feel that they are, you know, whoever is elected, we have to get behind that nominee. Barbara davis is the chair of florida said influential bravard county republicans. She says the tone of this Years Campaign has led to one positive, increased engagement. The one thing that im really happy about is the fact that theres more people involved now. With the, you know, with donald trump getting into the race, hes really excited certain people and people are listening to the debates, theyre learning more. I mean, you know, each of us has their own favorite candidate, but at least everyones getting involved, and thats the exciting part. I hope to have a really good voter turnout this year. Did you know he skipped 18 defense votes . A super pac supporting ted cruz is also going after rubio on t. V. But in this contest where bold and brash are the name of the game, some volunteers say the ground game is different. The campaign asked us to represent the candidate in the exact manner in which he represented himself, so were trying to win everybody over to our camp. If theyre negative, were extra nice. If theyre nice, then god bless them, you know, we say god bless you in this office frequently and mean it. A ted cruz supporter is trying to rally voters in her own unique way with her cruz mobile featuring an unlikely picture of her candidate. This image was shocking and i liked the shock value of it for the attention it would bring for my candidate. I wanted young people to like him, as well as old people. While the fight for attention so often negative may be more than most voters care for, one cruz voter told us the end result is worth it, especially for florida. I think its quite cleansing, like an ocean. We have waves, the waves clean the beach. Sometimes the waves come up really high on the beach and take out all the seaweed, and im hoping to see lots more seaweed get washed out of washington. Adam may, al jazeera, bravard county, florida. German voters giving a boost to a right wing anti immigrant party there. The a. F. D. Party defeating german chancellor Angela Merkels christian democratic in three regions. It means that party will Enter Parliament for the first time. It seemed a referendum on merkels immigration policy. There are new questions about the future of president rousseff in brazil, rallys were held across the country sunday. They want rousseff to resign over the economy and a scandal at the state he opened Energy Company pet pro brass. That leading to the arrest of former president desilva. There is relief in the forecast for parts of california tailed after four days of wet weather. Heavy rain, strong winds and snow have inundated rivers and roads, prompting evacuations and school closures. A Highway Patrol officer is in serious but stable condition after hit by a car that lost control in all that bad weather. That storm system has the possibility of sending Severe Weather now to the midwest. Lets bring in Nicole Mitchell for more on that. Nicole. Snow, as well. It could bring a couple of things. This could take it back over the last 24 hours when we had at a moisture plume speeding into california. Definitely need moisture with the Drought Conditions but in some place it was and get too much all at once. Not much of a moisture flow, we are winding down. Next week is looking very dry, so another time to wring out. Owl that moisture is moving interior now and moving across the country, bringing you guess a couple areas of problems. As it moves along, more especially for the Higher Elevations, were looking at different winter storm warnings and advisories, but definitely the cooler air, even for the lower elevations will spread. As this moves across the country into the day tomorrow, this gets south of the great lakes. We could see stronger storms especially illinois, indiana, kind of the cusp of that as this moves along, just an isolated chance but not out of the question. On the Northern Tier, there could be snow or freezing precipitation mixed in. This also starts to move towards the east coast by the time we get into later on wednesday and thursday, so a lot of people will be impacted by this. Temperatures as i mentioned, this is one of the cooler spots northwest of the country, 48 degrees versus minneapolis at 61, so definitely a contrast. You can see cooler air starting to spread already by the day tuesday. If you are in the warm weather, enjoy that today. You did say snow and northeast in the same sentence, didnt you . Chances, yes. Nicole, thank you very much. This morning. The latest journey of exploration tomorrow is officially underway. The spacecraft lifted off just a short time ago. It joins a long list of probes there already. This craft is rather unique. We know more about the planet mars now than ever before. There are seven active rovers orbiters above the planet. Recent discoveries have included the presence of liquid water, some below the surface of the planet. Theyve also shed light on how mars atmosphere was depleted by solar winds. The big question, whether theres life on the planet remains unanswered. Thats why the european and Russian Space agencies are sending the exo mars trace orbiter to the planet to explore its atmosphere. In particular, it will look at the presence of methane and whether its being produced by active volcanos or gas belching microbes. Methane is a hot topic, so trying to understand the origin of the methane and where on the surface of mars and when its being produced and how it is destroyed is very important. Water in liquid form is seen on the planet surface before, but its not known how much this exists nor whether this conforms to likes under its surface. We need to understand what is the water with that, because if you want to land people on there, theyre going to need Drinking Water and you dont want to carry it with you. The Exo Mars Mission will drop a small lander on to the surface. This will give it the opportunity to test its Landing Technology particularly in dusty conditions before a planned rover is sent to mars in 2018. Along with existing spacecraft, another two from the u. S. And india are expected in the next two years. The flood of new data will tell us more about the red planet and its role in the formation of our solar system. Finding guns on line. Facebook promised to stop resellers but buyers and sellers are finderring their way around the ban. Two suspects are held this morning after a Police Officer was shot and killed in suburb washington, d. C. The officer died in that shootout outside a Police Station. The officer was just four days shy of his 29th birthday. Police say the attack was unprovoked, the witness saying a gunman was pacing outside the station and just started shoot be, the f. B. I. Now helping to investigate. Facebooks ban on private gun sales is apparently not stopping owners from selling on the site. It has been six weeks sips the Company Announced users could no longer sell weapons on facebook or instagram. A new force support traction transactions. Forbes found some sellers were willing to accept payments through facebooks payment app. The author of that article joins us now via skype from san francisco. Thanks for waking up early with us. How big of a role does facebook play in private gun sales . Is it a big player . Absolutely, its a very big player. Its hards to exactly how big a role, because a lot of these do take place in private messages. A lot of sales i found were taking place in private groups. Its hard to get a feel for exactly how big, but when you consider how big facebook is itself, and how many groups that we are able to find, i think its safe to say its certainly a big player in the used gun market. I think theyre at 1. 6 billion facebook users now. Facebook came out with its own rules in january, i believe. How should they dispute it down . Facebook doesnt have a team of people going out to try and find examples of these sales taking place. They only know if users notify them. The issue, the challenge is that theres really no incentive for a gun owner or gun enthusiast in one of these groups to report to Facebook Whats happening in their groups, so theres really no active enforcement of it. Its only once facebook is made aware of a suspected gun sale that it will take action. And the the same problem for ebay and craigslist that they try to have rules but just cant enforce them. Thats right, yeah, so i wrote stories last year about that same exact issue on ebay and craigslist where ebay does allow some parts to be sold and they have a little bit more complicated a policies. They struggle to keep these off their site. They are not doing anything illegal. There is this loophole that you can do that. You can do it on other website. Whats the problem really for these sites . It depends what state youre in, whether or not its legal. California where im in, the state bans private sales unless you go through a gun store third party. There are some states that would be illegal. Facebook and craigslist. Why do they do it . When a company like Facebook Says they are banning gun sales off its site, without the ability to enforce it, why do they take a stand . Is it political, p. R. . Both those play a part. In facebooks case, the every town Group Gun Violence Prevention Group was very vocal in lobbying them to take a stand on this. Groups like moms demand action against gun violence have made it a point to lobby private businesses, facebook, target, starbucks, you name it and their strategy is to do that so long as congress isnt going to take action, theyre going to lobby businesses to do it themselves. How have those groups reacted to your reporting that these gun sales continue on facebook . I think some were surprised. I mean, you know, when facebook announced its new rules in january, i think a lot of people felt like taking at face value, this is going to be a good thing, this is going to really slow down the sale of guns without background checks, but some groups of told me maybe we need to take another look at this and Start Talking to facebook again to see how they can actually enforce this effectively. How has facebook responded . You know, facebook hasnt interested publicly. Their stance when i talked to them for the story was that, you know, we have a very, very large marketplace and we are increasingly an ecommerce marketplace. Three years ago, facebook really wasnt considered one and now with messenger, you can accept payment on line directly. Their stance is we rely on users to report violations and were confident that they can tell us about them so we can stop them. Matt draining, writer for forbes, thank you so much for joining us this morning. Thank you for having me. Still ahead, a drunken crash at the iditarod race.
