Council in washington. Live pictures of that. Hes likely to touch on are fight to symptom the government from shutting down, the debate could be complicated by efforts to derail the president S Health Care reform law. Randall pinkston joins us live. How will the republicans try to derail health care law. Talk a blibled that. The first stage of this showdown at the okay corral. The fiscal year ends september 30th and if the congress does not pass a continuing resolution to keep things flowing then there will be a government shut down. So the republicans say they are willing to pass a continuing resolution but only if it strips funding from the Affordable Care act, House Resolution 59. Just moments ago, the president s office of management and budget has released a statement saying that if in fact the house passes joint resolution 59 he will veto about bill. That is to say, he will accept a shut down. Of course, the republicans are going to blame it on president obama, president obama is counting on the fact that the voters will be looking at the republicans who have tried repeatedly to block obamacare for the past four years, five years. None of those efforts have succeeded not even at the supreme court. It is possible that at the last minute House Speaker joan boehner will introduce john boehner will introduce a bill that doesnt include obamacare. If he joins the two issues the president says he will veto about the bill and thats why we will have a shut down. Okay randall the president says he will veto it and it will almost certainly die in a democrat controlled senate. Do the republicans have a backup plan . Let me just say that when i say the president will veto it hes talking about presuming that the Senate Passes it too. Because he cant he wont veto a house measure, it will be a measure passed by both chambers of congress. If both sides agree and send it to the president then he will veto the legislate. Solegislation. So now were going to back up. It has to get through the senate. Senate republicans are quite upset with their fellow republicans some of them in the house of representatives and they dont want to see a government shut down and they are saying dont have obamacare in part of a continuing resolution. Lets just vote on a measure that will keep the government operating until at least the middle of october where we will hit the debt sealing. Senator ted cruz who has been leading the rk, encouraging us to put our necks on the line when youre saying youre not going to be able to do the same thing in the senate. It would be a comical side show but for the fact that so many lives and so much is on the line here. If there is a government shut down even for a few days, were talking about stopped payments of checks, Social Security benefits, applications being delayed, government workers perhaps being furloughed, a whole long list of really, really bad action he that will have to be taken because the money stops flowing. So most people dont want to see that happen but there are some that are in our congress who are saying thats whats needed to control government spending. Richelle. Well have to see how this plays out. Randall thanks so much. Tidal bore it happens when the incoming tide is so big its leading edge actually forms a wave. That wave moves along at about 25 miles an hour. Hi, im meteorologist nicole mitchell. I hope youre off to a wonderful day so far. Watching the country, first i want to mention the next player, Northern California in order ward could see some rain. Enjoy it if you have these outdoor plants. Our big player is right through the midsection of the country, very easy to pick out where we have the frontal boundary, two stories with it one is the temperature changes as you see this goes through and two the moisture including the risk for strong storms. Some of which were already seeing right now. So you can see in the last couple of frames, minnesota into wisconsin we have a thunderstorm watch box up, that means the potential for strong storms and on the northern side of the twin cities right now, warnings, big threat is wind 60 Miles Per Hour or so and hail about pea size is what weve been seeing. You can see the moisture extending well down tot Southern Plains with it. Not only have we had that but a real temperature contrast. Right now easily 77 into kansas city, where the front has gone through 50s . 54 in rapid city right now. The temperatures ahead are above average but when the front comes through it will bring us back to reality for this time year but youll really see the change because weve been mild. Ahead of the front 72 to start the day in memphis versus denver at 49. As we continue down the line some of that moisture moving into texas were also getting from that topical system, as i mentioned earlier a little bit of moisture from that plume. Texas is in drought stage so we can use anything we can get here. You can look at pretty wide coverage of places that could see decent rainfall over the next day or two as this system moves through. So that is some great news. In the meantime another dry day for northeast. Those temperatures have rebounded a little bit. A lot of these in the 70s. But be on the lookout because the system that i mentioned in the midwest, more ohio river valley and southward into the day tomorrow and then unfortunately just into the weekend, more of that moisture is going to be hitting the east coast, you might think about that just a little bit as you are starting to get those weekend plans firmed up. All right, nicole, thank you.
