TRAFFORD: Plans to build 174 new homes on former site of four social housing blocks causing upset

PLANS for 174 new homes on the former site of four social housing tower blocks are causing upset.
The land off Bold Street in Old Trafford was formerly home to Osprey Court, Raven Court, Falcon Court and Eagle Court and the Sea Hawk pub until these were demolished between 2013 and 2014.
Now, Trafford Council and profit-for-purpose housing provider Trafford Housing Trust have launched a joint venture to build new homes on the plot which has stood empty for seven years, as part of the Old Trafford Masterplan to regenerate the area.
The homes on the site will be a mixture of homes for private sale, private rent, ‘affordable’ homes and social rent homes and are set to be built sustainably using locally-sourced materials.
