Trader Joe's in Yorktown confirmed: Grocer touted as 'major boost' to area

Northern Westchester’s most-popular rumor is no longer a rumor.
Trader Joe’s is coming to Yorktown Heights.
Yorktown Town Supervisor Matthew Slater confirmed the building department received plans tied to the Lowe's Shopping Center on Crompond Road, near the Taconic State Parkway, which call "for an interior buildout and façade identifying Trader Joe's as the tenant."  
The nearest Trader Joe's locations to the area are in Hartsdale, Westchester County, and Danbury, Connecticut.

Excavating work continues on a lot near the Lowe's on Crompond Road in Yorktown, Jan. 20, 2021. A yet to be named specialty grocer is expected to be the new occupant.
