The Yaris Cross is also being hit by a separate recall relating to its rear centre seatbelt.
Meanwhile, 392 Yaris Cross vehicles are being recalled to fix an issue affecting the rear centre seatbelt anchor bracket in models manufactured between July and October 2020.
This is a precautionary measure to repair the centre rear seatbelt due to a potential concern associated with the finished edge of the seatbelt bracket. There is a possibility that the seatbelt webbing may be damaged during a collision, reducing the effectiveness of the restraint.
Both repairs will be carried out by Toyota stores for free, with the seatbelt fix taking an hour. The hybrid system needs nine hours of work, so it might pay to source a loan vehicle from Toyota if that affects you.
