Think January's $10k discount was great? Just wait.
The all-new 2021 Toyota Mirai is a stunning vehicle, especially compared to its odd-looking predecessor. The two Mirais are poles apart design-wise but they share one vital thing: hydrogen fuel-cell powertrain technology. The second-generation Mirai is more powerful and has a 30 percent increase in driving range, now rated at 402 miles.
That's exactly the same as the battery-electric (and far more expensive) Tesla Model S Long Range Plus. Granted, the Mirai is currently only sold in California, but the state definitely has a significant number of Tesla owners and hopeful owners, and Toyota hopes a chunk of them are willing to jump ship.
