Toyota had a strong first half of 2021; vehicle prices continue rising

June was the second consecutive month that U.S. car sales have slowed from the torrid pace set in April — yet sales have roared back from the pandemic-induced collapse a year ago.
Toyota, which builds the midsize Tacoma and full-size Tundra pickup trucks at its South Side plant, has sold more vehicles in the U.S. so far this year than all other automakers besides General Motors, according to Cox Automotive.
