Town of Wellsville may be searching for new tax collector
Ramsey considers stepping down due to work conflict, Town board may appoint replacement Wednesday

WELLSVILLE — The Town of Wellsville will have a new tax collector in 2021, but it may not be the one elected by voters in November.
Deborah Ramsey, a Democrat, was elected to the position for the first time in November, picking up over 90% of the vote.
However, Ramsey may have decided not to accept the position.
The town board is awaiting an official resignation letter and has called an emergency special meeting for Wednesday night at 6 p.m. to address the matter. If the board receives Ramsey's resignation, it can appoint someone to fill the sudden vacancy for 2021.
