Chippenham overwhelmingly votes to reject the controversial distributor road
Chippenham Town Council votes overwhelmingly to reject the distributor road options presented in the Future Chippenham scheme.
Following its unanimous opposition to the Wiltshire Local Plan, Chippenham Town Council voted to condemn the low-speed distributor road currently being consulted on under the Future Chippenham scheme.
At the extraordinary full council meeting, members of the public spoke passionately against the road calling into question Wiltshire Council’s dedication to addressing the climate emergency.

All present councillors, bar Peter Hutton who abstained in favour of seeking more information not included in the consultation, voted to say no to the scheme.
