A conservative politician has described how she feels like a “single mum for half the week” because of the demands of being an MP.
Andrea Jenkyns, the MP for Outwood and Morley, has revealed the “challenges” she has faced when based in Yorkshire with her toddler to support her constituents.
In an interview with The Juggling Act podcast, which you can listen to on the audio player above, the pro-Brexit MP, elected in 2015 when she ousted former Labour minister Ed Balls, said that she felt “very alone” during the first lockdown when she was based in her constituency with her young son while her husband – who is also an MP – worked in Bristol.
