With the Toronto Maple Leafs opening their first round playoff series against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday, the mayor is out with a reminder that fans should stay home to watch games.
Mayor John Tory joined Sportsnet 590 The Fan on Wednesday morning and said there could be opportunities for safe gatherings later this summer, but now is not the time.
“On the hopes that the Leafs are going to go into the playoffs deep, that means the reopening will have hopefully begun by then, there’s a possibility we could do some of that sort of thing,” said Tory.
