Top 3 Panama City Beach police chief candidates are local

PANAMA CITY BEACH — After sorting through more than 30 applications, local officials have narrowed their search for a new chief of the Panama City Beach Police Department. 
According to City Manager Drew Whitman, the top three candidates are Capt. Jason Jones, Lt. Christopher Boyer and Lt. Eusebio Talamantez. All currently work for the PCBPD.

"The chief of police is a critical public safety position that works closely with the city manager, all city departments, other first responders, public safety officers and the community," Whitman wrote in an email. "We are a tourist city and the next chief needs to be skilled at interacting with our visitors as well as our locals and he needs to be someone who can work collaboratively with other law enforcement agencies."
