HIGH POINT â Residents in parts of north High Point said they felt terrorized by a huge private fireworks display that lasted until about 1:30 a.m. Monday.
Northpoint Avenue neighbors posted videos on the website Nextdoor and expressed concerns about what one resident described as ânot simply firecrackers but large payload explosives,â which are legal in North Carolina only for licensed fireworks operators. One of the residents complained to The Enterprise that the police did not come out to the area after the fireworks were reported.
But the High Point Police Department does not normally run out to reports of fireworks, Lt. G. Nordstrom said.
