Tonko and Delgado discuss census, infrastructure, jobs with Chamber

CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. — The Rensselaer County Chamber of Commerce hosted a virtual conversation with Congressmen Paul Tonko and Antonio Delgado.
The congressmen, who represent New York's twentieth and nineteenth congressional districts, respectively, discussed an array of topics Wednesday morning. Among those issues was the recent announcement regarding New York's projected loss of one congressional seat, responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, and rebuilding the economy and infrastructure.
Both lamented on the 2020 U.S. Census count and what it will mean for New York's representation.

"We lose one voice of 27 in the delegation, and so that weakens our clout through committee assignments and through votes on the floor," Tonko said.
