OKANOGAN COUNTY, Wash. — The Okanogan County Sheriff said a 77-year-old woman from Tonasket who was the subject of a Silver Alert was found dead in Ferry County Tuesday.
Okanogan County Sheriff Tony Hawley said Alberta Russell's death was likely caused by exposure to the elements.
Ferry County Sheriff Ray Maycumber said a grater operator reported seeing a vehicle on the side of Karamip Road at 12:49 p.m. Tuesday and they thought someone might have been inside. Maycumber said the road is a Forest Service road and during this time of year it is odd to see a car. He said a deputy responded to the area and found Russell's body.
