The three-episode OVA production of
Cyborg 009 VS Devilman from 2015 is getting a new home video release that’s priced-down. The new release is scheduled for an April 14th, 2021 debut where it’ll be priced at 4,000 yen, which is definitely a comedown from the 9,800 yen Blu-ray from 2015. The release only includes the original Japanese language track and not the dub that we saw on Netflix.
The project originally landed in the fall of 2015 with Actas handling the animation. Jun Kawagoe directed it as it brought the original creations from Shoutarou Ishinomori and Go Nagai together in solid form.
Plot Concept: After discovering the existence of demons in Tokyo, the original Cyborg crew led by Dr. Gilmore find themselves in conflict with Devilman, a strong demon believed to be in league with the war-profiteering terrorist organization, Black Ghost. Meanwhile, a bigger threat emerges when Dr. Adams, a Black Ghost scientist unleashes his new line of high teen Cyborg models against 009 and his friends.
