Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Today marks State Flag Day in Mongolia. On the eve of the National Naadam Festival on July 10 each year, the State Flag of Mongolia is raised.
A ceremony took place for raising the flag at the Sukhbaatar Square today. The state flag was raised as the military band of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Mongolia played ceremonial march music. With the parliament passing a law on the establishment of State Flag Day in 2008, this year marks the 13th consecutive year since 2009.
The current design of the State Flag of Mongolia was adopted on February 12, 1992.
