Dave Mason quit Traffic for the first of three times on this day in 1967. The band had just released their first album, “Dear Mr. Fantasy.” After rejoining twice, he’d quit and go on to have a successful solo career.  
Paul McCartney and Wings headlined a star-studded show at London’s Hammersmith Odeon on this day in 1979. It was the last night of a weeklong benefit for the people of Kampuchea.  
And after living together seven years, the Jefferson Starship’s Grace Slick and Paul Kantner split up on this day in 1975.
