HEALTH OFFICIALS SAY THE COUNTY HAS BEEN ONE OF THE AREAS HARDEST-HIT BY THE VIRUS AND THEY WANT PEOPLE TO START GETTING THEIR SHOTS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BUTTE COUNTY AND CONTRA COSTA COUNTY HAVE ALSO EXPANDED THEIR VACCINE ELIGIBILITY. TY: FIRST LADY, DOCTOR JILL BIDEN, WILL BE IN THE CENTRAL VALLEY TODAY. SHE WILL JOIN GOVERNOR NEWSOM AND THE FIRST PARTNER, JENNIFER SIEBEL NEWSOM, IN A "DAY OF ACTION" TO MARK CESAR CHAVEZ DAY. IT TAKES PLACE IN THE KERN COUNTY FARMING COMMUNITY OF DELANO. THE CESAR CHAVEZ FOUNDATION, UNITED FARM WORKERS, AND THE UFW FOUNDATION WILL ALSO PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENT.
