In his Feb. 3 article, “A realistic climate agenda for Pennsylvania,” state Rep. Greg Vitali made a compelling case for what Pennsylvania should do this year to address climate change. I would add that a fully comprehensive climate agenda must include a robust renewable energy sector.
Pennsylvania’s current Alternative Energy Portfolio Standard (AEPS) goals require a paltry 8% of electricity come from renewable sources, with 0.5% from in-state solar by May 2021. These numbers are meager compared to Pennsylvania’s neighboring states.
