An independent MLA of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) party proposed the name of Mukul Roy and it was supported by Egra Trinamool MLA. Following the announcement by the Speaker, ruckus broke out inside the assembly. Protesting the move, BJP MLAs have walked out from the House .
Trinamool leader Mukul Roy, who recently defected from the BJP, was nominated as the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman by the Speaker of West Bengal assembly Biman Banerjee on Friday during the end of the assembly session.
