2021 hurricane forecast: 17 storms, 8 hurricanes, 4 major ones
Get ready for another above-average hurricane season in 2021. The first major forecast of the season calls for 17 named storms, eight hurricanes and four major hurricanes, according to Colorado State University research scientist Phil Klotzbach, one of the world’s top hurricane forecasters. He announced Colorado State’s annual forecast on Thursday. But it is less intense than what the Atlantic experienced during the historic 2020 storm season. More from the Tampa Bay Times.

COVID death rates in Florida: The numbers
Since levels of testing have varied so widely from county to county in Florida, the number of “confirmed cases” in a county may reflect how well a county tests rather than the actual incidence of COVID-19 in the population. In addition, there is no way to count those who’ve been exposed to the disease but are asymptomatic — some estimates reckon that 10 times as many people have actually been exposed to the disease as have tested positive.
