Authorities are reporting a few trees down and some urban flooding as a result of thunderstorms that swept through the area late in the afternoon and into the night June 8.
New York State Electric and Gas crews have been busy into the morning with over 1,100 of power outages in Tioga and Tompkins Counties. A majority of those customers without power were in the Spencer area.

Meanwhile, motorists should be aware of standing pools of water on some roadways. The newly rebuilt section of Front Street in the City of Binghamton has been a recent location of water extending several feet from curbs and driveways into the roadway in the outbound, northbound lane from about Gaines Street to Prospect Street. There may also be debris on roads where trees and branches were brought down by the storms.
