UP: To Gov. Jim Justice, for easing pandemic regulations and rules for restaurants, bars, businesses, grocery stores and schools in our state. Without taking his foot fully off the brakes, Justice appears to have given some hopes to business owners working to stay afloat after nearly a year under COVID-19 orders. Now it is up to the rest of us to stay vigilant, follow the remaining rules in place, wear our masks, practice social distancing, wash and sanitize our hands … and just generally use common sense in continuing to fight the spread of this virus.
UP: To Wood County Clerk Mark Rhodes, who in conjunction with Secretary of State Mac Warner, managed to remove approximately 5,200 abandoned registrations from the county’s voter rolls. “West Virginia’s voting rolls have never been cleaner and more accurate than they are today,” Warner said. “The dedication to accuracy from our county clerks while applying multi-agency list comparisons to track abandoned registrations has resulted in the most accurate voting rolls in our state’s history.”
