Three men arrested after 'violent' kidnapping and shooting in Northland

Police have arrested and charged three gang members in relation to a "violent" kidnapping and shooting of a police officer in Northland.
A 44-year-old and 26-year-old man - both members of the Rebels gang - are charged with kidnapping, aggravated robbery, arson, using a firearm against a police officer, and participating in an organised crime group.
A 38-year-old man is facing charges on unrelated drugs and firearm incidents.
On October 26 2020, a man was kidnapped at gunpoint on State Highway 10 near Waipapa.
The next day, the same offenders pulled out in front of a police vehicle on State Highway 11 near Puketona Junction.
