Thousands of 'threatened' Chinook salmon killed in transit to Inmaha River

A fish tanker truck transporting 102,000 spring Chinook smolts crashed in northeast Oregon, killing 25,529 of the fish and injuring the driver, leaving the loss of 500-900 fewer adult fish in 2026 and 2027.
