The Thorpe Recovery Centre and Residents in Recovery will be receiving some additional funding through Alberta’s Mental Health and Addiction COVID-19 Community Funding grant.
Residents in Recovery has been approved for $35,290 and Thorpe Recovery Centre for $64,141. The funding is part of the Alberta government’s $53 million COVID Mental Health Action Plan supporting mental wellness and addiction recovery in the province during and after the pandemic.
“Residents in Recovery provides judgement-free access to a safe, supportive, and therapeutic recovery environment,” says Vermilion-Lloydminster-Wainwright MLA Garth Rowswell. “This grant of over $35,000 from Alberta’s government supports their abstinence-based programs that put individuals on a journey towards self-discovery, motivation, and understanding of addiction.”
