Thompson's 33-point performance leads (1) Falls Lake girls past (4) North Duplin

When Emerson Thompson wasn't driving through the lane for a layup or floater, she was dishing to a teammate down low. And when she wasn't doing that, she was taking -- and usually making -- 3-pointers.

Thompson ran the show for top-seeded Falls Lake Academy on Tuesday, scoring a game-high 33 points as the Firebirds topped No. 4 North Duplin 67-56 in the fourth round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 1A playoffs. FLA, still unbeaten at 31-0, will host No. 3 Chatham Charter in the Eastern regional final on Saturday.
