“We’ve never been content to do one thing at a time,” Jane says. “We came from strong working families, my parents loved to work and so did Mick’s and it’s something we passed on to our three boys.
“We’re grateful for every day, I think life is a gift. We’re always telling our children, you can’t waste a moment. Try everything in life, you only have that one chance.”
The Arrowtown house is the couple’s latest venture. It was Jane who briefed Team Green Architects for the four-bedroom home that sits on an elevated site, facing Queenstown and Cecil Peak, the Remarkables, Walter Peak, Mt Nicholas and Ben Lomond. Balloonists often float past, occasionally so close the Burdons can see their faces from the dining room table.
