Third man charged with 2017 murder of Michigan singer who was tied up with Christmas lights
Police charged a third person Thursday with the 2017 murder of a 27-year-old Michigan woman.
Shandon Groom, 28, is suspected of killing Egypt Covington in Van Buren Township, about halfway between Detroit and Ann Arbor, Michigan State Police said Thursday.
Covington was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head June 23, 2017, in her Van Buren home. She had been tied up with Christmas lights.

Timothy Moore, 34, and Shane Evans, 31, were charged with Covington’s murder in November and December 2020, respectively, the Detroit Free Press reported.
