Regional health officials today confirmed a third wave of COVID-19 on Cape Cod that includes highly contageous variants, saying continued vigilance with masking and social distancing are critical.
"There are multiple variants out in our community," said State Sen. Julian Cyr (D-Truro), spokesman of the Cape Cod COVID Response Task Force and the Regional Vaccine Consortium. "Keep it outdoors. Keep it masked."
Though the days are getting nicer, and more people are getting vaccinated, we need to continue vigilance, Cyr said.
