SIX drivers have been fined a total of £1,600 by the courts for using a mobile phone while driving the district's streets.
The highest level of fine was £660 and one motorist was even banned from driving for six months due to repeat offending.
All the cases took place at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court between April 15 and April 28.
Carmelo Francesco Marzullo, 35, of no fixed address, was caught driving on Rushton Road, Bradford using a hand-held mobile on August 6, 2020. He was fined £220 and received six points on his licence.
Sajid Sheikh, 32, of Dark Lane, Mount Pleasant, Batley, was caught driving while using a hand-held mobile phone at Forster Square Retail Park on July 16, 2020. He was fined £660 and gained six points on his licence.
