The Washington whizz-kids changing the rules of war mapping

On the morning of 8 November, George Barros and a team of young analysts were working through some potential updates to their map of Gaza. Just over a month had passed since the shock attacks by Hamas and Israel’s declaration of war, and things on the ground were changing fast. There were reports that Israeli forces had almost cut off Gaza City, the densely populated Hamas stronghold in the north of the strip.
